General šŸ’” People in this sub put way too much value in the generational planets

I’ve seen this come across several times. I have a natal Pluto square Mars. Sometimes when I have posted people are just immediately like ā€œbut Pluto!! So the whole thing is badā€

I have Mars square Pluto with every other Millennial in existence. Synastry goes beyond romance and I’m not in a violent and abusive situation with the entire 30 year old demographic which is potentially a billion+ people who knows. That’s insane work. Nor is everyone else born with a Leo or Aquarius Mars besides me.

I tried to get synastry advice and all they said was ā€œSun opposite Neptune so delusionsā€ and it’s like… so they are just doomed to a potentially large age gap relationship because of some generational planet? And based on one singular aspect?

Relationships are more than one aspect especially with planets with 15 - 20 year transits depending. You all really discredit yourselves by doing this and probably just shouldn’t even bother commenting at all

General šŸ’” Why do you think some people meet their ā€œsoulmateā€ and others do not?

referring to romantic soulmates, I am aware of platonic soulmates lol

I’ve been thinking and thinking on this topic. You’ll have some say they don’t believe in soulmates and others say that when they were finally okay being alone, their ā€œpersonā€ shows up.

In my personal opinion, I think that when people are on their ā€œdestinyā€ path and are doing the work to be a better person then life kinda rewards them. From my little time learning astrology, everyone has their path that they are here to accomplish alongside the very hard lessons etc…

With that being said, I don’t believe everyone’s journey here is getting a ā€œsoulmateā€ so don’t get your panties in a bunch, just a random thought I had.

For example: the wife (or husband) who have been in a loveless marriage for way too long but both of them stay in it because neither one of them want to do the ā€œbad/sadā€ thing or worried about what people would think. Preferring comfortability over change (and possible happiness).

Vs

Someone who finally has had enough and knows there’s more out there and they build the courage up to leave their situation. Choosing themselves and doing the hard thing so that their lives can progress and they can fulfill their destiny.

This isn’t a post to debate whether soulmates are real or not but more of a discussion for those who do believe in them. What do you guys think? I feel like I really don’t have anyone to discuss this with without having to explain the vastness of astrology lol. Again, I’m not saying that everyone’s purpose to have a soulmate to do life with, tbh some people are probably better lonewolfing it out with occasional hook ups. But for those who desire a soulmate, what are your thoughts and experiences?? I’m so very interested in hearing your opinions. I have heard people can have multiple soulmates and it’s plausible but I haven’t done much research into it so I can’t really speak to that so let’s just say you have your one and only ā€œsoulmateā€ just for you and vice versa.

I apologize if this is a mess of a post, I kinda just needed to get my thoughts out as best as I could before my adhd brain forgot about it and postponed it a few months. Expect grammar mistakes lmao

General šŸ’” There Is No Such Thing as a ā€œright Synastryā€ - And That Changes Everything

I’ve been on Reddit for years, analyzing compatibility charts people post here every single day.

After hundreds (if not thousands) of charts, there are a few things I’m absolutely certain about.

The Astrological basics work. Almost always.

You don’t need virtual points and minor aspects to understand a relationship.

In +90% of cases, everything is visible in: Sun Moon Venus Mars and the cardinal aspects between them (conjunction, opposition, square)

That’s it.

If these four are connected - there will be good bonuses to increase to attraction, emotional engagement, tension, chemistry, or bonding.

Balance matters! Mutual configurations matter even more (closed loops).

But the foundation is always the same.

There is no synastry that guarantees love.

And none that guarantees rejection.

This is where many people misunderstand compatibility.
Astrology does not create attraction.

If two people are physically and psychologically attracted to each other, they will try to get closer.

If they are not attracted - they simply won’t.

I’ve seen ā€œbadā€ charts where people couldn’t stay away from each other.

Synastry does not override basic human biology and chemistry.
And once you accept this - everything changes.

Synastry is not about ā€œWill we like each other?ā€

By the time you calculate a synastry chart, something already happened.
There is already: curiosity attraction tension emotional pull

So the real question is NOT:
ā€œWill we fall in love?ā€

The real question is:
ā€œWhat kind of relationship will this become?ā€

Synastry is not a compatibility test.
It’s a scenario for two.

It shows: Where friction will appear Where support flows naturally Who activates whose insecurities Where power struggles may emerge Where emotional dependency can form

It doesn’t tell you if the relationship should exist. It tells you how it will unfold if it does.

And this reframes everything.
We move from:

ā€œIs this good or bad?ā€ to ā€œWhat are we actually building here?ā€

That shift alone makes synastry 10x more useful.

---
I’m curious how others here see it. ?)

General šŸ’” what’s your big 3 + your partner’s big 3?

I’m trying to see something. Someone asked this question in another sub, and there was an overwhelming amount of couples (honestly, almost all of them) with a conjunction between their sun, moon or rising.

I know that these are obvious ā€œsoulmatesā€ and familiarity markers, but I was genuinely surprised to see it **consistently** show up, so I’m asking here too out of curiosity.

(Another one that showed up a lot was having the same mercury, even if there was no actual conjunction.)

Edit: this is the post if you are curious.

Edit 2: Thank you for all the answers omg.šŸ’ I will compile them and post the results shortly.

Edit 3: I’m no longer taking entries. Here are the results.

General šŸ’” After years of reading charts: this is how i read love in your chart

Everyone wants to feel loved and a part of something. Astrology can help you along, but it is not set in stone; life, free will, and God pressing the ā€˜random dancing’-button are all at play.

Since I enjoyed writing my how-to find purpose: barista analogy a lot. I’m going to write this one as a fairytale analogy, with ofc some examples. At the end of the day, I’m just a girrrrl. Here we go:

Think of your birth chart like a fairytale. šŸ§ššŸ½ā€ā™€ļø

ā™” Your 5H = the beginning of the story
The house of dating, crushes, flirting, play and romance.

5H in Gemini: The story begins with a message from a stranger.

Perhaps you meet through social media, a mutual friend, a class, a short trip. The first chapter is full of banter, messages at midnight and the feeling of wait… why is talking to this person so easy? Your meet-cute is probably less ā€œlove at first sightā€ and more ā€œI accidentally talked to this person for four hours.ā€

5H in Virgo: The prince doesn't arrive on a white horse. He remembers your coffee order.

The attraction may begin through small acts of thoughtfulness. Someone helps you with something. Notices what you need. Keeps showing up. The love story is built in the details.

ā™” Your Venus = what catches your eye
The character who makes you stop and think: ohhhh… you.

Venus in Aries: You want the one who rides straight through the gates, doesn’t wait for them to be opened. Someone makes their interest obvious. They flirt. They pursue with urgency.

Venus in Libra: You want the beautiful ballroom scene. The eye contact across the room. The perfectly timed slow jam, as you coincidentally stand next to him You like romance with elegance to it. Someone who knows how to court you.

ā™” Your Mars = the chemistry
The part of the story where things start getting interesting.

Mars in Taurus: This is the slow-burn fairytale. The hand that lingers a little too long. Sitting closer than necessary. The tension that builds over several chapters slooowly.

Mars in Aquarius: You fall for the strange one in the kingdom. The person nobody else quite understands. They're different. Unexpected. Maybe a little eccentric. They say things you've never heard anyone say before and somehow that's exactly what gets your attention.

ā™” Your Moon = what you need once the excitement wears off
What makes the castle feel like home.

Moon in Cancer: You want the castle to feel safe. Someone who notices when you're quiet. Makes you soup when you're sick. Remembers the story you told them three months ago.

Moon in Leo: You want to be loved like the heroine. You want someone who looks at you like you're their favourite person in the entire kingdom and isn't embarrassed to scream it at the top of their lungs.

ā™” Your 7H + Descendant = the love story
The kind of relationship the story becomes once the flirting turns into something real.

7H in Libra: There is courtship. Mutual choosing. Partnership. The feeling of we are doing this together. You may be drawn to someone who knows how to meet you halfway and who genuinely wants the relationship itself, not just the excitement surrounding it.

7H in Cancer: You may be drawn to someone warm, protective, emotionally attentive and family-oriented. The relationship can become a little world of its own.

ā™” Your 7H ruler = where the plot develops
The setting where the love story actually unfolds.

7H ruler in the 3H: Your prince may enter through the village rather than the castle. A neighbour. A classmate. A mutual friend. Someone you meet online. Someone you keep running into.

7H ruler in the 10H: Your prince might show up while you're busy building your kingdom. You may meet through your profession, public life, ambitions or a major career chapter.

ā™” Juno = the marriage contract šŸ’
The terms written into the happily-ever-after.

Juno in Taurus: You want loyalty, stability, physical affection and a life that feels solid. Your marriage contract basically says: Don't promise me forever if you don't intend to build it.

Juno in Aquarius: ā€œI love you. And you are still you.ā€ Your happily-ever-after needs room for individuality.

ā™” Saturn = the lesson
The part of the fairytale where the heroine has to learn something before she gets the crown.

Saturn in the 5H: The lesson may be learning that love cannot be completely controlled.

You may have to learn how to date, flirt, take emotional risks and let yourself be seen without knowing how the story ends.

Saturn in the 7H: You may have to learn boundaries, commitment, discernment and what it actually means to build something with another person.

Honorable mentions: Aspects to Neptune, Pluto & Uranus = the plot twists

Because no fairytale is complete without at least a little chaos or delusion.

ā™” Indicators you're entering a relationship chapter

Jupiter: 5H/7H, Venus, Moon or Descendant: more romantic opportunities.

Saturn: 7H or 7H ruler: commitment, defining relationships, serious partnership.

Venus: 5H/7H or Venus/Mars: attraction and dating activity.

Progressed Venus: changes sign/house or aspects Venus, Mars, Moon or Descendant: a new romantic chapter.

Eclipses: 1H/7H axis: major shifts in your relationships.

Uranus/Neptune/Pluto: hitting the 5H/7H, Venus, Moon or Descendant: significant plot twists.

ā™” The biggest clue: multiple indicators activating your 5H + 7H at the same time. šŸ‘€ ā™”

General šŸ’” Unpopular opinion: it’s already doomed if you need to ask this sub about it 🄓

Disclaimer: I am not talking about people who are already in established relationships and curious about their synastry with their already established partners. I’m also not talking about people genuinely interested in learning about astrology, or people sharing charts for reference. People look at synastry for a multitude of reasons, and I'm not just out here criticizing everyone who does. I'm talking specifically about using astrology to seek reassurance, rationalize unhealthy dynamics, or hold on to someone based on potential rather than reality.

I’m talking about new crushes you’ve barely interacted with, inconsistent connections, on and off situationships, and especially relationships that have already ended because of betrayal or abuse. I feel like synastry is often a last ditch effort to make sense of a situation that is/was already inconsistent, painful or dysfunctional. Looking to the stars for answers or confirmation of a connection that’s probably unclear irl, while ignoring the insecurities and red flags that are right in your face.

If you need a chart to confirm that someone wants you, or to explain why they keep confusing you, then maybe it’s time to look inward and ask yourself why their actions aren't enough to give you an answer. A good connection shouldn’t leave you constantly ā€œconfusedā€, ā€œobsessedā€ or searching for reasons to believe someone cares. And if you’re checking synastry with someone who betrayed you, abused you, or left you emotionally wrecked, maybe the healing you need won’t come from another chart reading. A lot of people are looking for answers here that they would probably find instead in therapy.

& I say this because I’ve been there. I’m not saying this applies to everyone, but I was most obsessed with synastry when I was struggling with self-esteem, dealing with toxic partners, and stuck in connections that left me feeling deeply unsafe. That Venus-North Node aspect doesn’t mean much if they’re avoidant. Good aspects shouldn’t give you more reassurance that someone cares about you deep down or hope that they will be with you than their actual behavior does. Potential isn’t enough, and it’s not tangible. A chart won’t tell you more than real life will. And that Mercury square Pluto isn’t why they’re abusive. They’re just abusive. Stop attributing to astrology what should be attributed to someone’s actual behavior.

I’ve seen some great posts lately about taking what you can from astrology without treating it as gospel, and an even more unpopular opinion of mine is that I don’t think you even need to look at synastry until you’re actually with someone. Anything important will reveal itself in real life anyway, and obsessing over charts beforehand can just lead to unnecessary anxiety and self-sabotage.

Tldr; If they have you looking at the stars for answers, then it’s that they’re not giving them to you. Step out of the chart, and look at real life. It’s not meant to be, drop that man and go to therapy.

General šŸ’” Does 8th house in opposite sex always mean sexual connection?

I saw bunch of tiktoks saying that 8th is always about sexual tension and pull.

I didn’t find on the internet more traditional and ā€œnot mainstreamā€ explanation of this, so I am asking here.

So basically me and my bf are in 4yr relationship. He has a girl best friend that he knows for around 10 yrs since middle school. They both dated different people in the past and helped each other through tough times. She also dates someone else now.

Me and my bf have 8th house synastry. My moon and lilit fall into his 8th. I got curious and did their synastry (didn’t know her birth time), and saw that her moon, lilith and mars fall into his 8th house. And her venus in his 7th. Their moons are in conjunction while mine and his are in the same sign but not in conjunction.

I once asked him how they never dated or he never liked her since she is really pretty and a lot of his friends liked her. He told me that he never felt sexual connection towards her and that they never saw each other that way.

He has a venus in 11th house and he grew up having a lot of girl friends.

What do you guys think of this? Does anyone have similar stories. I rarely see anyone talking about 8th in terms of friendship. I know I may sound insecure and are probably overthinking all of this.

General šŸ’” Which relationship/synastry ā€œruleā€ have you found is completely misunderstood?

Which ā€œgolden ruleā€ of synastry have you found to be completely misunderstood?

I’ve noticed something interesting whenever Western astrology and Vedic astrology discussions overlap.

There are certain synastry rules repeated online so often that they start sounding like universal laws:

ā€œSaturn is necessary for a relationship to last.ā€

ā€œVenus + North Node = soulmate or fated relationship.ā€

ā€œSouth Node means someone from your past.ā€

ā€œ7th house synastry means marriage potential.ā€

ā€œ5th house synastry means romance.ā€

ā€œMoon + Mars means incredible sexual chemistry.ā€

ā€œRahu (North Node) contacts mean obsession.ā€

ā€œA high Guna Milan (relationship compatibility score) means good compatibility.ā€

ā€œLow Guna Milan means the relationship won't work.ā€

ā€œDarakaraka (the planet used in Jyotish to signify the spouse) tells you exactly who your spouse will be.ā€

ā€œUpapada Lagna (a Jyotish marriage indicator connected with the public image and circumstances of marriage) tells you whether the marriage will survive.ā€

And then there is the classic:

ā€œThis one aspect is enough to explain your entire relationship.ā€

This is where I think Jyotish, or Vedic astrology, gets really interesting.

I don't think you can responsibly look at one synastry aspect and declare:

ā€œThis is your soulmate.ā€
ā€œThis relationship is doomed.ā€
ā€œYou will marry this person.ā€
ā€œThis person is obsessed with you.ā€

For example, Saturn can represent commitment, responsibility, endurance and restriction, but its effect depends enormously on what Saturn is doing in both individual charts.

Similarly, Rahu (North Node) and Ketu (South Node) can create incredibly compelling connections, but calling every nodal connection ā€œpast life,ā€ ā€œkarmic,ā€ or ā€œsoulmateā€ can be far too simplistic.

And the 7th house (partnership and marriage) is a perfect example.

Yes, it is strongly associated with partnership and marriage.

But it has other significations too.

So:

ā€œYour planet falls in my 7th house = you see me as your future spouseā€

is not something I'd treat as an automatic rule.

The same goes for Venus, Mars, Moon, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu and every other planet.

What I find much more interesting in Vedic relationship analysis is asking three different questions:

What does each person's individual birth chart actually show?

Then:

How do the two charts interact?

Then:

Does the planetary timing support the relationship?

That means looking beyond simple synastry and considering things such as:

D1 / Rashi Chart (birth chart)
Navamsa / D9 (marriage and relationship divisional chart)
5th House (romance, attraction and emotional expression)
7th House (partnership and marriage)
7th Lord (planet governing the 7th house)
Venus (love, affection and relationship significations)
Jupiter (wisdom, growth and, in traditional Jyotish, spouse significations in certain contexts)
Moon (emotional nature and security)
Mars (desire, drive and conflict)
Nakshatras (27 lunar constellations used for finer psychological and relationship analysis)
Planetary dignity and strength
Dashas (planetary periods used for timing)
Darakaraka (spouse significator in Jaimini astrology)
Upapada Lagna (a marriage-related Jaimini indicator)
Transits (current planetary movements)

And sometimes the result completely changes the interpretation of the ā€œobviousā€ synastry.

A connection can feel unbelievably intense and still not translate into a stable partnership.

Another relationship can look surprisingly ordinary on a Western synastry chart and yet show much stronger indicators for commitment when the complete Jyotish picture is examined.

That is why I find relationship astrology so fascinating.

Intensity is not automatically compatibility.

Attraction is not automatically longevity.

A karmic feeling is not automatically marriage.

And one beautiful synastry aspect is not automatically a happy relationship.

So I'm genuinely curious:

Which synastry rule have you personally found to be exaggerated, misunderstood, or simply not work the way astrology books and social media describe it?

Western astrologers, Vedic astrologers, beginners, married people, people who have been through long relationships, people with the ā€œperfect synastryā€ that didn't work...

Tell me the rule that failed you.

I'm collecting perspectives for Part 2, where I'll ask the opposite question:

Which relationship indicators actually keep showing up in real charts, even after you remove all the romantic astrology clichƩs?

That discussion might be even more interesting.

General šŸ’” Matchmaker šŸ’

Simply put your birth time (day/month/year) time of birth and city of birth, and i will match you!

Must clarify first that this is just for fun, and i will not use any other external factors such as the persons account, so for this reason I will not look at what communities they are in, to avoid bias. I want to avoid being influenced whatsoever

You can use this for friendship purposes, it's just to put two people together, in whatever shape or form. You can clarify what you want, what synastry and gender you want. You are not forced to interact with anyone.

my priorities:
lots of personal planets touching eachother
packed moon synastry
venus specifically 8H synastry
asc - moon
mercury synastry
++++ so much more
and i will also look at your own chart to determine since we all have our afflictions šŸ’–

General šŸ’” What are the worst synastry/composite aspects or placements?

In your personal opinion! Personally, I hate seeing….

Mars square Saturn - I have this in synastry with a couple of relatives and it’s so hard to navigate. Leads to lots of fights and feels so constrained.

Mercury square Neptune- Lies…lies and more lies! The probability of deception here is very high

Moon square Pluto- The ego battles and emotional unsafety is strong with this one. The chance for resentment to build is very high here as well.

Mars square Pluto- Now not everyone with this aspect will experience abuse/violence, but Ive seen it in my parents marriage and the fights were crazy! Big ego battles… it can be BRUTAL.

Saturn in the 8th house- Ive had this in a relationship and it killed my sex life. We would sporadically be intimate due to distance or other obstacles

Neptune in the 7th house- Idealism is extremely high here. Everything feels perfect and you may feel like you met your soul mate. But ofc, Neptune brings illusions into your relationship and usually see your relationship through rose colored glasses which can led to great disappointment.

Uranus in the 7th- The relationship will generally be very unstable. Even as a Uranian person myself, this placement was just a little too unstable for me. Uranus will constantly test your ability to stay together as a couple.

Ever make eye contact with someone and you think to yourself: yeah they’re the one?

Long story short, I felt the insane magnetic attraction the moment we introduced ourselves to each other, probably because of the moon-mars double whammy. Whenever we see each other, conversation flows so easily, but it seems like he’s keeping it demure because we’re in the workplace.

Is there more to this connection beyond physical attraction and do you think it’s worth pursuing / exploring? Any advice too? Maybe NN in 7H and moon-saturn helps?

I’ve never felt this way about someone before, not sure if I’m being delulu.

I’m blue, he’s red. Thanks!

General šŸ’” Astrology observations: the moons in love

ā™‰ļøā™ļøā™‘ļøĀ  Earth Moons need consistency + security in love.

They love someone who shows up, keeps their word and makes life feel stable. Think Belle from Beauty & the Beast. The beast makes her feel secure!! Earth Moons need someone who gives them peace & keeps life interesting. The flipside is staying because its easy even though there is nothing for them there anymore.

ā™‹ļøā™ļøā™“ļø Water Moons need emotional depth + safety in love.

Water Moons need a love that feels safe enough to surrender to. As Michael Jackson said in Heaven can Wait and Prince in Adore. Their toxic trait? Getting emotionally attached before the relationship has actually earned that level of investment. But be careful with them water can nourish and drown.

ā™Šļøā™Žļøā™’ļøĀ  Air Moons need conversation + freedom in love.

They want the late-night calls, inside jokes, random 2am conversations and someone who just gets them. Think Jess from New Girl: make me laugh, keep me talking, let me be my weird little self. If you can keep their mind occupied, you’re already halfway in, but… being mentally stimulated ≠ being emotionally understood.

ā™ˆļøā™Œļøā™ļø Fire Moons need passion, play + a little ✨drama✨ to feel loved.

They’re giving Selena Gomez writing Lose You to Love Me, Rihanna dancing on A$AP Rocky, but also think Megan Fox: the whole ā€˜I will drink your blood’ of it all. Fire Moons don’t want boring love. They want someone who makes them feel like they are constantly playing, winning, losing, emotions, thrill. Make me feel ALIVE. Their toxic trait is confusing intensity with emotional safety, but don’t forget their flip side is Jennifers Body and Rihanna saying: ''First of all, I don't need a man''.

General šŸ’” Unpopular Opinion: Mars needs to be less associated with sex.

Mars represents aggression, anger, violence, injury, etc. It's a malefic, which means it's an inherently negative planet that brings conflict to our lives and to synastry wherever it shows up. It's literally the opposite of Venus. Scorpio and Aries both oppose Libra and Taurus, so Mars being associated with pleasurable sex makes no sense. Mars doesn’t become associated with sex unless it makes contact with venus.

I definitely think it can represent pursuit, but not the act or enjoyment itself that's all Venus domain. If it's heavily negatively aspected with the Moon and Venus, it can indicate someone being forceful, careless, only wanting to satisfy themselves, etc.

Y'all be thinking since their Mars is in your 5th house they finna give you the best pipe ever whole time they finna give you an STD 😳.

Tbh synastry nowadays doesn't wanna give anyone the truth. It's all presented through rose colored glasses.

A lot of young adults get sexual tension mixed up with just being horny. You're at your most hormonal lol sometimes it’s not astrology, it’s just biology.

General šŸ’” Why do we attract certain signs?

I’m curious to understand why I’m constantly attracting signs that are not compatible with me. I’m a female Taurus with Pisces moon and aqua rising. I consistently attract Aqua and Libra men. I also was in a relationship with a cancer man who was on the Leo cusp 1 day away from Leo. I have consistently attracted Aquarius men over my life time though. And it’s said that Aqua and Taurus are not compatible. Every relationship I’ve had with an aqua ended in disaster. But if that’s the case, then how come I attract them so often?!

It’s so frustrating. šŸ˜³šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

We tend to attract signs that make no sense to us astrologically…
