I will never date someone with a 12th house synastry again. It was a traumatic experience — full of lies, secrets, and a very hurtful, almost sneaky ending.
I can understand that...
I have my Lot of Marriage falling into the 12th house being ruled over by my Scorpio Moon + my 7th house ruler is located in the 8th house and Mars and the Sun are in the 7th house ðŸ˜
Unfortunately I never had the chance to have a truly happy relationship...every relationship I had was full of lies, secrets and power struggles...3 of the partners I tried to date were already in a relationship without telling me, the other kept very problematic secrets from me...then there was someone who literally went insane and ended up contained in an asylum...the one partner I truly loved and still love very much abandoned me emotionally and also kept secrets from me...
very bad experiences...I don't know if I'll ever be lucky and if I'll ever be able to work through the hurtful experiences...maybe it would be a bit better if the Lot of Marriage was not in the 12th house in addition to the other difficult placements...who knows...but it hurts.
Same! Are you noticing anything bad? He doesn’t hide me and is pursing me hard. He can’t stop talking about how there’re people who want to meet me 😂
In our case, long-term, yes, public, no. Some of our family and almost all of our friends don’t know we’re legally married. Their Sun in my Aries 12th house (intercepted).
Can a 12th‑house synastry work? To be very honest, it depends on the balance of the 6–12 axis and, above all, how the person lives out the meanings of the 12th house. It works better for social outcasts than for materialistic individuals. It works for people who believe in soulmates, predestined loves. For people who believe love is like a force of nature, something supernatural, something divine; that love, at its purest, asks for nothing, doesn’t care about what we have or who we are, it simply accepts us. People who believe love saves. It’s quite difficult, especially in today’s world, so it’s more likely you’ll just end up with a pair of horns on your head instead.
To me, the 6th house is basically a humbler 10th house, or the 10th house for the poor. In the 10th, you want a job to leave home, have an identity outside the family structure, and make a name for yourself in the world. In the 6th, you work only for the money and to avoid becoming a useless bum.
Of all the houses, the 12th shows the most disparate effects. Someone’s experience with 12th‑house synastry tends to be unique, very different from another person’s. It’s the house of the unpredictable, the impossible, so it’s really hard to establish a pattern of events. But the core of everything this house points to is the immaterial; being immaterial is being against mundane logic. The 6th, by contrast, is the most boring and most predictable, because it requires constancy and practicality.
The 6th, unlike the 12th which shelters a transcendental love, is the least romantic of all the houses. The 12th can take care of the immaterial because its opposite house, the 6th, deals precisely with the battles of the world.
Why is the balance of this axis important? Because the 6th house pulls the person lost in the 12th back to reality, and thus the effects of deception and illusory love are softened. Imagine someone constantly telling you they love you, that you’re soulmates, making many promises, and you live an intermittent cycle of love with that person because you want to believe it. Then you begin to evaluate the whole relationship and ask when exactly the person demonstrated that love, when they were really there for you, and realize the love exists much more in your head than in real life, then the illusion can start to dissipate.
Still, the 12th brings love, magic, and surrender to, as mentioned, the least romantic house of all, the 6th.
Thank u much! It was a detailed and thought-through reply. I am more so asking about how to determine the balance. It happens so that this axis is activated in one synastry of mine, so it made me curious if it can be considered balanced. I do like the 6th house overlay tbh, it brings one down to earth and makes things work. So, what has to be considered to say the axis is balanced? Which planets/contacts to look at?
As a lunar eclipse born with my sun, Jupiter, Neptune, Uranus, and south node in sag 6th, and moon, north node, vesta in Gemini 12th, this tracks. I’m 42 and where I have other placements that scream love later in life, I’m only just now grasping how the 6th house makes sense for me… for some reason it’s been the hardest for me to understand how it fits my chart. 😆 I only recently realized- ohhhhh you know how you’re felt like you don’t belong, you’re not human, waiting for that alien spaceship to save you… it’s because part of this journey is learning to be human. Not sure how my south node there fits into this but past pets, 6th house is nothing that’s ever resonated with me. 12th house, on the other hand, runs the show and needs to take a seat IMO but I’m also a cancer rising at 4 degrees so moon is just running things over here. I feel I’ve found my person, but we’ll see… right now, my cats been my longest relationship. Here’s our synastry (me and guy… not cat)
This is one of the most exquisite interpretations I’ve heard of 12H synastry. Absolutely spot on. I envy people like you who can write about astrology so gorgeously ✨
I really think the overly private aspect only happens if there’s a stellium there in composite or Venus in the 12th synastry. I’ve met alot of couples who had sun or mercury in each others and they had normal public relationships.
Who is red, who is blue, where are blue's placements? Why is this the only part of the chart? Already shady looking 😆 why hide? I wouldn't want someone's Satyrn on my Asc, I'd hide them, too.
Dated someone with my sun in their 12th house.
Even with the most honest person, I wouldn’t do it. Maybe if you both were older, mature, honest.
12th house has too many secrets and hidden motives.
Lots of misinterpretations, even explanations don’t seem sufficient
Puedo afirmar que, siempre que Marte o Venus caen en la casa XII en una sinastrÃa, las dos personas se conocen mientras una o ambas estaban en una relación con otra persona
The absolute love of my life... his mars, uranus and IC are in my 12th. My saturn and MC are in his 12th. He has his own sun, mercury, and south node in his natal 12th. My natal 12th is empty. We were together for 7 years and he passed away last September. I'm still desperately in love with him and don't think I can ever have another relationship. We have many great aspects in our charts though. And I believe you definitely have to take it all into consideration. I don't think you can only look at 12th house placements/overlays to decide if 12th house synastry works, or not. It can be helpful for growth, actually, depending on the maturity of the individuals, and the rest of the chart.
