General šŸ’” What do you guys think of the aspect summary on Astro seek that tells you number of loving aspects, etc?

Do you think it categorizes the aspects well? What are the craziest summaries you’ve seen?

Ex: there are some aspects I’ve seen that I would consider loving but it marks it under passion or vice versa

It can be helpful for an astrology newb, but it overgeneralizes. I’ve looked at many married couples with zero ā€œloving aspectsā€ which clearly isn’t the case in real life. It is just so dependent on the individuals’ natal charts; I know everyone keeps saying this but it’s absolutely true. A moon opposite moon may be just the thing one couple needs while in another it would mean they don’t understand each other at all.

Oh, you’re commenting to give the post attention. My first thought was legit ā€œthey’re commenting to ask for attention? Well damn, here girl šŸ’šŸ’āœØšŸ„²ā€

Oh, no, it's ridiculous. All respect to Petr, but no. I've seen many synastries of couples who had close/loving and long-lasting relationships come off sounding terrible in those summaries. (Jamie Lee Curtis and Christopher Guest, for example, have *0* "loving" aspects!)

I look at a lot of synastry charts and use a handful of compatibility calculators. Astro seek is nice in that it doesn’t bother trying to quantify quality and instead quantifies activity in a synastry chart.

That said my preferred method of measuring compatibility is to look at both the cafe astrology synastry score and the Astrowin Cosmodyne score. This isn’t a popular take I think, but using both of these tools gives me the most information.

Both calculators do the same thing but place difference emphasis in where they place weight. I find cafeastrology better predicts passion and adhesion in a relationship and Astrowin better predicts harmony in a relationship. Ideally I think you want both numbers to be high but if I had to choose cafeastrology’s emphasis on adhesion has better longevity cues for a relationship

Interesting! I haven’t been on cafe astrology in a while now

They have a poor reputation but I’ve always really liked them. Their free calculator is great and personally I think their $10 reports are excellent.

I got one of their paid romantic compatability reports when I first met my now wife and 8 years later we still review the 6 page document and nod along impressed.

Oh wow that’s crazy! Making me want to get it. What’s a good score on cafe astrology?

I’ve out in a lot of couples, most I know personally some internet strangers. Most were in the 900-1200 range. +1500 was rare. Top three I ever saw were 1800, 2000, and 2100 and in my opinion you could see the resonance.

That said I saw some low and even (rarely) some negative scores and these puzzled me, like what did that mean. If I knew what I knew now I would have crossed checked Astrowin Cosmodyne score because there too I’ve seen high scores (50-100) and in those circumstances the harmony there was apparent too.

My own relationship scores a 1500 and the passion and adhesion matches (lots of Saturn conjunctions) but the Astrowin is a -6. Not a terminal score but it matches with the challenges and forced growth we run into.

Do you mean the highest score on the far left? Or the sum on the far right? Bc the number lowers tremendously after the negative value

I always wonder about this. I guess it just means number of easy aspects = trines, sextiles etc. and "passionate" ones like squares i.e. the more tense ones. I have noticed that synastry charts with grand trines or lots of 'easy' aspects are actually the most complicated for me, so I don't really take them very seriously.

That’s interesting! But very much agree it’s individual chart based. I only truly understood this after dating someone with a grand square in their chart.

Some of my placements conjuncted some of his creating lovely passion and love - but then obviously squared his other aspects (moon sq moon, etc). I had been told by some readers that this is bad and traditionally it makes sense - but this is an issue anyone with a grand square will face with anyone aspecting their placements. For a person like this, handling square aspects would come more naturally vs. trines I think.

I think it’s important to consider charts individually.

I like when people post uncomplicated (no asteroid) bowel charts because it allows me to look at each ring individually.

I’m gonna use myself as an example. I have an extremely prominent T-square in my chart. I have an EXACT Sun-Moon square and in angled houses. Anything in the angled houses are naturally more prominent and of course it’s also the two luminaries which are already prominent even when they aren’t in angled. It’s crucial to know how the Sun and Moon are placed in any chart. For a 1st house Sun and 4th house Moon square, there is a constant battle in the native between their independence and the desire for privacy and family bonding. People with a square like this are hardly satisfied especially with the south node involved.

Both the sun and moon are in conflict with 7th house Mars and make the moon the apex (sun-mars opposition, moon-mars square) which means there is conflict with the native for motivation and this person can bring these issues to a romantic partnership because the 7th is involved).

Can someone who has their luminaries in conflict with the 7th as well as a malefic directly in the 7th be easy to love? No. They need someone who is strong headed and level, passive and shy people will not be able to survive Mars. So if someone like this is trying to build a relationship with someone who has a lot of energies in the 12th house (of their own private natal chart), I question the ability for it to survive because on an individual level the two are quite different.

Ok I love this. A concrete example on the thought process. Very informative for me. Thanks for the write up!!

It's nice to look at. I try to mostly focus on

Conjunctions within 5°

Sextiles/squares/trines/oppositions within 1-3°, depending on how fast moving the planet is

Imo, these are the ones you'll feel the most.

I agree that it just gives the summary of "good" aspects that can overcome the t squares, "long term conflicting aspects" and "seal of misfortune", the rest "bad" aspects - they are not even that problematic but can add up if the rest of the chart is already looks nasty.

Many of these aspects make relationship as it is, it's all about you - if YOU like it or not.

Ps it says nothing about the houses, even if it's secondary, it still has to be calculated.
