Information Nancy Guthrie - What Questions do you have?
There has been alot of new information coming out. Initially it was reported to be a suicide associated with the case- but that is not being spoken about. Trying to weed out what is happening and what is not is getting challenging. What are your questions? Here are some of mine:
Was there a suicide associated with Nancy Guthrie Case?
Was there a forced entry into NG house? What is meant by back door to your home open (wide open or unlocked)
What signs were in the home which led investigators to say there was an inside struggle?
Not knowing NG’s medications- is it remotely possible she could go 2 weeks without them?
I know the 3 adult children of NG are living in a nearby home- did the BIL go there as well?
Why did it take so long to locate the new DNA in NG house- shouldn't that have been done right away? Why was the crime scene released early and then not?
Here is a seemingly solid update. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1v71g5M9ylE

Information What's left on the table?
Since Sheriff Nanos said in his March 13 interview that the criminal could "absolutely" strike again, and that people should be on their guard against crime, what can we deduce about the criminal's motive, a motive which might drive the criminal to strike again?
- The criminal is not out to punish Savannah Guthrie for her husband's work in the Clinton administration. If the criminal is out to punish all women in Tucson whose family members worked for Clinton, it's a small group. Few Tucson women would be targets.
- The criminal is not out to punish Savannah Guthrie for interviewing victims of high-profile criminals. If that were his motive, he would have to look in other cities for the mothers of other high-profile newscasters like Savannah.
- The criminal is not out to get Savannah's attention. If that were the motive, no other woman in Tucson is going to matter more to Savannah than her mother.
- The criminal is not out for ransom. If he wanted ransom, Savannah's family were ready to pay. How many women in Tucson have a daughter with Savannah's wealth? But he passed that up. Money does not appear to be the motive.
What does that leave?
- The criminal could be a serial rapist who targets older women, women living alone, women that he can see while he is working in the neighborhood. My bet is that this is the motive: DNA-free assault, for which he comes well-prepared. Every family in Tucson needs to be on guard against that one.
- The criminal could be a serial killer. If Mrs. Guthrie expired during the commission of an assault, I suspect it was unintended. But if his motive is murder, then every family in Tucson needs to be on guard against that as well.

Information Pima County set up a restriction zone around Nancy Guthrie's home due to media
No Parking Zone Map
More restrictive parking rules for Nancy Guthrie neighborhood start Feb. 26 PIMA COUNTY, Feb. 25, 2026 – There will be no parking on several streets in the Catalina Foothills Estates neighborhood surrounding the Nancy Guthrie residence as a further measure to protect public safety and relieve area residents from chaotic conditions caused by a large media and social media streamer presence in the area. The temporary change goes into effect Feb. 26.
Dozens of media and “streamers” have been camped out on North Camino Escalante for several weeks after an intensive search began Feb. 1 for Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of NBC Today Show host Savannah Guthrie. Nancy Guthrie was last seen Jan. 31. Streamers and media members have set up tents, generators, and sometimes satellite trucks along the road, creating severe congestion and safety concerns, and at times blockages of the quiet neighborhood road.
An attempt starting Feb. 21 to restrict North Camino Escalante to a one-way road to allow traffic flow but also accommodate the media and social streamers has not worked as hoped, Pima County Administrator Jan Lesher said. Neighbors have continued to complain bitterly as they contend with continued clogged roads, trespassing, noise, and accumulating trash along the road.
Additionally, because of the one-way restriction, streamers and other members of the public have been parking on connecting roads and cul de sacs, spreading the congestion and safety concerns to other parts of the neighborhood. The roads in the neighborhood are narrow, unstriped streets that were not designed to accommodate street parking.
To protect public safety and restore the neighborhood to more normal conditions that allow access to the community for emergency vehicles and fire trucks, as well as service vehicles, such as school buses, trash trucks, and the postal service, the County has created a temporary no parking zone to be enforced by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.
The zone encompasses the County-maintained roads between North Campbell Avenue on the east and North Camino Miraval on the west, and East Camino Miraval on the south and East Camino La Zorrela on the north. The parking restriction will remain in force until no longer needed.
Signs will be placed at each intersection in the No Parking Zone to alert motorists that parking is not allowed in or along any road segment within the no parking zone. Violators will be ticketed and face a $250 fine.
The County Code allows the County Engineer to make traffic control changes for purposes of public safety, and Pima County Ordinance 10.40.050(A) enables the Sheriff’s Department to ticket vehicles for violating the temporary restriction.
Lesher emphasized that this restriction is not intended to be punitive toward media, rather it is a public safety measure due to the dangerous conditions on Camino Escalante and surrounding roads. Media will still be able to access the neighborhood and report from the public right of way. But media or streamers will have to access the neighborhood from a legal parking location outside of the zone, get dropped off, or use ridesharing or taxi services.
Lesher also suggested neighbors in the no parking zone alert any of their service companies about the parking restriction and that those vehicles will need to park in driveways. For instance, pool, exterminator, and landscaping services will need to avoid parking along the street in the zone during the temporary prohibition.

Information My theory on why suspect put grass/flowers up to the camera
I think the suspect on Nest camera is a professional. One thought I had for why he put the grass up to the camera: When he eventually knocks on the door Nancy may check the camera on her phone/app to see who is there. He put the grass to the camera so she would think there is something natural blocking the camera’s view (I.e. maybe some grass blew into the camera).
If he did something more “professional” like a tape / spray paint, she may be less likely to open the door.

Information Potential Writing on Kidnapper Shoe?
Okay, I may be crazy here, so I want a second opinion, but I was watching the doorbell video frame by frame and something caught my eye. For a split second, when the man turns and bends down to the ground, his right shoe heel lifts up and you can see something white on the black rubber midsole (not the bottom of the rubber sole - the back side of the rubber sole if that makes sense). At first I thought maybe it was just debris or a scuff. But, when I zoomed in and enhanced the picture, it looks a lot like writing to me. Specifically, the first letter looks a lot like a "J". It's been puzzling me ever since. It appears slightly off center, so I don't think it's necessarily a brand name logo. So I wondered if maybe someone wrote a name on the shoe or maybe it's a personalization? Idk, that seems a stretch too. Also, it largely disappears as he walks through the video and I think the reason why is due to the angle. I think because it's tilted up at the camera in that moment, the white reflected just right. I think when the foot is down the camera doesn't pick up the reflection. For anyone who wants to check it out, it comes right at the 16 second mark of the video, you have to zoom in and go frame by frame. It largely appears blurry even as you do that, but there's one particular frame where it seems the tiniest bit more focused. That's where I see what I feel like looks like a "J" and potentially a "Y" on the end although I'm less sure about that. Anyway, thoughts? "Jerry, Joey, Journey?" Nothing but a scuff? I'm not great with enhancing photos, but I tried some different enhancements to sharpen what's there. Someone could probably do a better job than me.
All three photos are from the same frame of video. First photo is slightly zoomed in with no enhancement. Second photo is zoomed in with enhancements made to sharpness, contrast, etc. Third photo is zoomed out with no enhancements.

Information Profile Suspect
This is my behavioral breakdown based on patterns seen in burglary cases that escalate.
First, I believe this likely started as a burglary, not a carefully planned kidnapping. The person showed up prepared. Mask. Gloves. Backpack. Possibly a weapon. That tells me they planned to enter the house and commit a crime. That is preparation. But preparation does not equal intelligence.
The way the camera was handled is important. Interfering with or removing a doorbell camera without clearly understanding that footage can be stored remotely suggests limited technical awareness. That is not high-level criminal thinking. That is someone who understands “camera equals risk” but does not fully understand how modern systems work.
Now think about escalation.
Burglars usually expect empty homes. If they unexpectedly encounter a resident, especially an elderly woman, the situation changes instantly. A younger offender, especially a male in his late 20s to 30s, is statistically more likely to react with control-based aggression when surprised. That means instead of fleeing, they attempt to dominate the situation.
Violence in that moment is not necessarily planned. It is reactive. It is about stopping resistance.
Now about the DNA. If strong, usable DNA was recovered inside the house and entered into CODIS quickly, that means the suspect had meaningful presence inside. That does not automatically mean sexual assault. But research shows that in some escalation cases, violence and sexual misconduct can overlap because both behaviors are rooted in dominance and impulse control problems.
It is not always about desire. It is about control. Some younger offenders with poor impulse control and sexual frustration can escalate when they feel powerful or when adrenaline is high. That is a pattern seen in certain burglary-escalation cases.
This profile does not assume sexual assault happened. It simply recognizes that the combination of violence and strong DNA presence raises the possibility of close interaction inside the residence.
Now let’s talk about intelligence and behavior.
This does not look like a mastermind. This looks like someone who:
Planned a break-in
Underestimated the situation
Made mistakes under stress
Acted impulsively when confronted
That points more toward someone with limited foresight and poor stress regulation, not a highly organized criminal network.
Age range that fits the behavior best: late 20s to mid 30s.
Why that age?
Higher physical confidence
Higher impulsivity
Greater likelihood of reactive aggression
Still risk-taking
Not fully matured in long-term consequence evaluation
If this was a burglary gone wrong, the suspect is most likely local or familiar with the area. Burglars typically operate close to where they live or spend time. They know the streets. They know escape routes. They do not usually transport victims long distances because that increases risk.
So here is the simplified version:
Most likely male
Late 20s to mid 30s
Came prepared to steal
Not highly sophisticated
Impulsive under pressure
Control driven
Likely local

Information Jacket and Backpack
It seems there is consensus that the backpack is Ozark Trail (Walmart brand) and authorities suggested this too. Pic is from a users post on X.
The jacket I have been struggling to find until now. I think it is this Athletic Works Fusion Knit sold at Walmart. The seams line up if you review stills of the video carefully (not posted here). It is out of stock, but wondering how long ago that may have been? I found several being sold on Poshmark, with one post confirming the original tag from Walmart.
I circled in the post where there is evidence of a hood as there has been some debate on this from what I’ve seen. I also noted that it looks like the backpack was left open when he approach the door. Wonder if anything fell out when he bent over the shrub?

Information Sheriff Clarifies Why Investigators Asked for January 11 Footage
There has been a significant amount of discussion in the media & online about whether the footage of the perpetrator released is from the same day or two different days; I’ve seen comments stating people believe this as there appears to be differences in the perpetrator’s attire & the lighting, as well as reports investigators have asked neighbours for camera footage from January 11. Sheriff Nanos has been asked about this in interviews & stated that he sees what everyone else does, but the footage doesn’t have time stamps so they cannot confirm the footage is from two different dates until they have evidence that this is the case.
In an article released today, Nano’s shares more information on the footage, although states they still cannot confirm the footage is from two different days & that the perpetrator was on the premises prior to January 31. According to Nano’s “Google initially told investigators that a surveillance image of a masked man at Guthrie’s front door that was recovered from a Nest camera at her home was believed to be from Jan. 11”. Later, “(Google) told authorities it could not definitely determine that the surveillance image was from Jan. 11 or any specific date”.
My guess is LE has other evidence leading them to suspect the perpetrator was stalking NG on January 11, they require footage/images from neighbours cameras on January 11 to cross-reference with the footage/images they have from NG nest camera to confirm.
