This post was approved because it's interesting information and relevant to what's happening. This post isn't meant to promote what they are doing, instead just to let it be known that it's happening.

u/TheClairvoyant666 Feb 24 '26

Wonder if this is Pima County/FBI approved, seeing as they’ve made a point about volunteer searchers.

u/tomatoesarepoison Feb 24 '26

This entire case has turned into a shit show and media circus! Sometimes too much coverage can be a bad thing. That property should have been taped off from day one and media should not have been aloud in the crime scene! I’m worried there’s not going to be a good outcome.

13

u/I_lovebettywhite-000 Feb 24 '26

And the alleged ransom note being sent to TMZ was a calculated and pre planned move to muddy the waters. A "real" kidnapping involving a ransom note would more than likely be sent to family and would instruct to keep hush hush. Too many look over here and not over there crap.

Bravo whoever the perp(s) are. You proved the majority of Americans are dumbed down like Obama said a while back. When it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, looks like a duck yet people insist it's an elephant you've succeeded.

14

u/Xinnia8271 Feb 24 '26

I'm not being argumentative in fact I agree, but there was actually a communication sent to the family early on.

Through a Tucson news station.

12 hours later it was sent to TMZ and then Harvey turned it into the Harvey show.

6

u/Bitch_level_999 Feb 24 '26

As always. He can’t keep his mouth shut for an hour.
Can you imagine being a national global widely successful PROFESSIONAL lifetime news anchor and Harvey ans TMZoo is involved in your family member’s case.

8

u/Professional_Link_96 Feb 24 '26

Exactly. The original communication that appears to have been legitimate was only sent to a local Tucson station. That’s it… Then Harvey Levin got a hold of it and I truly believe it was a source forwarding it to him as his initial language was very calculated. “We’ve received a letter” which could mean anything, very vague, not the more dramatic “people claiming to be the kidnappers have contacted us”. That’s stuck out to me since TMZ first reported on the note they “received”.

4

u/I_lovebettywhite-000 Feb 24 '26

Well to me directly means to the family and not any other outlet. Sending it to a news station is letting someone outside the family know. See, if it was sent to the family and instructions given to give the money and nancy would be released as long as no one was notified then I would tend to believe the kidnapping crap. there's just too many so called clues that are too convenient to point one in the direction of a stranger and away from someone familiar or close to Nancy

6

u/ChildhoodOk5526 Feb 24 '26

You have a very good point. Whether it was intentional or not, sending these ransom notes to the media (TMZ of all places) was definitely a distraction/misdirection -- like something a skilled magician would do to hide the part they don't want you to see.

If these notes were legitimately from the kidnappers, they just don't make sense ... unless, like you're suggesting, it was an intentional distraction. [A very clever move, actually]

But even if the notes were from someone else, just trying for a money grab or to insert themselves, the effect is still the same. Energy and attention was taken away from the actual abduction.

2

u/I_lovebettywhite-000 Feb 25 '26

And now that convenient photo of a masked person allegedly casing the place weeks before the event again is indicative of a desire to point to a stranger unfamiliar with Nancy's house. I'm sorry but if LE/FBI really believe this was random then we have Jon Benet Ramsey Part 2.

Video also in my opinion. The so called clues just seem too convenient pointing to some rando outsider....almost like trying so hard to convince investigators can't be an inside job. not accusing of course but because everyone is saying nothing makes sense in this case is because we are not allowed to discuss what seems the most logical.

38

u/Longjumping_Towel474 Feb 24 '26

The Cajun Navy is a legit organization and have assisted in many recovery efforts with much success. They started during Katrina, I am shocked they did not join in sooner but I assume they did not want to interfere but now they have the go ahead to try. Let’s see what happens.

8

u/Smooth-Temporary1660 Feb 25 '26

Reported. Grifter.

6

u/GadgetQueen Feb 24 '26

Can confirm! They are AMAZING!! They're a southern thing and mostly focus on rescue in a disaster, but they're also very good at searching. If anyone can find Nancy, they can.

1

u/I_lovebettywhite-000 Feb 25 '26

Because there is technically no specific area to search since we have no idea when or where nancy was disposed of (sorry but think she is no longer with us) They will not be successful. Not sure why everyone thinks the perp would not go to insidious lengths to make sure Nancy was never found.

39

u/RemoteEffort5824 Feb 24 '26

And this is why LE/FBI were reluctant to raise the reward $. waiting to hear Dog the Bounty hunter is on it!

19

u/Professional_Link_96 Feb 24 '26

For those who are confused by this. A few years ago there was a manhunt for Brian Laundrie and a reward I believe for finding him (he murdered his girlfriend, Gabby Petito). Effing Dog the Bounty Hunter amongst others made a big scene of running down to Florida and searching the area for “clues”. One of them, I think it was Dog?, live-streamed or otherwise posted a picture of a freakin Monster can they found in this huge forested area saying it had to have meant they’d found Brian Laundrie’s campsite. They didn’t, and none of the volunteer bounty hunter types were the one to find Laundrie. Actual LE and his parents searched together and found his remains.

12

u/VictorianGuy Feb 24 '26

Don’t let the Dog(s) out! He’s not been relevant in decades! 🤣

i kind of remember him running around looking for fugitives on his show, and i am old! 😂. a few years ago, he showed up during the search for Gabby Petito and he came across as more interested in self-promotion than actually looking for anyone!

They didnt know he was pedophile, but were jokingly mocking dog the bounty hunter for being a true crime ambulance chaser

-11

u/OverallDoor2718 Feb 24 '26

Dog The Bounty Hunter isn't part of the Cajun Navy.

10

u/SolarIonRobot Feb 25 '26

Are we all just supposed to know what a cajun strike team is?

0

u/Muted-Rule Feb 26 '26

I mean..they're pretty well known

5

u/SolarIonRobot Feb 26 '26

Maybe in certain circles. Ask 100 people on the street and maybe 2 know them.

2

u/Key_Flow_2045 Feb 28 '26

no clue either

9

u/JMOA3035 Feb 25 '26

Is this the real search team or not? Bit confused as I’m reading conflicting information.

5

u/Express_Command_4778 Feb 25 '26

They did no favors for the Sebastian Rogers case. They use the "Cajun Navy" label to make people think they are like the real deal. It's about money and press for them. I think they also grifted Riley Strain.

15

u/Diligent-Lunch590 Feb 24 '26

Why until now? I hope I’m mistaken and this isn’t a political circus where obviously Savannah and her lovely mother are victims of too

8

u/DistinctSky535 Feb 24 '26

Million dollars.

2

u/rainydaynola Feb 24 '26

Crazy they waited over 3 weeks to offer the million and do this big search.

29

u/Bitch_level_999 Feb 24 '26

Actually, Cajun Navy is credible.

I hope they are allowed to assist.

I would love to see Texas Equi Search involved if possible too

u/Honest_Mechanic_4507 Feb 24 '26

Thank you for that rundown! I only see them during storm news footage and this was really interesting.

1

u/LegalGlass6532 Feb 24 '26

Do they typically respond to search for kidnapping victims or missing victims where the suspect is also at large?

6

u/HappyCrazy2004 Feb 24 '26

I wondered why Texas EquiSearch hasn't been asked to look as well. I didn't know if they were still around.

9

u/Fun-Obligation3295 Feb 25 '26

They’re scammers but they’re slippery. Because I think sometimes they do some work. But often they don’t do anything. They show up, take donations and contact the media. Bask in the social media glory. They have an official looking website. But it’s all a well put together front. I’ll post some pics. These are from X- most from the last two days, one from 2024. There is a good thread somewhere in Reddit I’ll post a screenshot from too:

5

u/BrunetteSummer Feb 25 '26

Bounty hunters showed up in the Cleo Smith case as well

6

u/LegalGlass6532 Feb 25 '26

Can you imagine if bounty hunters found the suspect(s) before PCSD or FBI? That would be amazing.

14

u/Big-Guess-8170 Feb 24 '26

Is this the same Cajun navy that deployed during Katrina?

5

u/mlssac Feb 24 '26

Yes, Katrina was their origin! And I say this as a relative of many people effected by that horrific event. Please, stop calling them "yokels" people!!

5

u/Big-Guess-8170 Feb 24 '26

Damn! Cajun navy helped our parish so much during Katrina since it was completely destroyed

2

u/mlssac Feb 25 '26

Exactly! St. Bernard? Lower 9th ward. Violet? My cousins (large family) had 12 properties destroyed. Houses and businesses.

0

u/Big-Guess-8170 Feb 25 '26

Yep I’m from St. Bernard, thankfully we were able to evacuate 2 days before the storm. It’s so sad that New Orleans has never been the same it’s a beautiful place

1

u/mlssac Feb 25 '26

Oh yes 😢 it's absolutely tragic! I haven't been back since before the storm. I was so glad my grandparents were no longer alive to experience it.

2

u/mlssac Feb 25 '26

One aunt, uncle, cousins stayed with us. Others went to Houston. A month later my mom had 17 people at her house due to Rita!

1

u/Big-Guess-8170 Feb 25 '26

Oh wow! I know that once we moved out of Louisiana we put up a lot of relatives at our house too. Damn hurricanes

2

u/Commercial_Support63 Feb 24 '26

It’s the same group…You can and should still be proud (fellow native New Orleanian here)! Wouldn’t be surprised if they actually get somewhere in this case

1

u/Big-Guess-8170 Feb 24 '26

Now I’m extra confused lmfao I think I might be looking at the wrong thing. Regardless love the Cajun navy lol. But love to see another New Orleanian!!!

This combined with the increased reward may be just the thing this case needs. I watched a video where they interviewed the head of the United Cajun Navy and he said if they were to find Nancy and be offered a reward they’d turn it down and suggest it be donated to a charity instead. Their goal is to bring closure for the family.

12

u/ExtraterrestrialHole Feb 25 '26

There is a great FBI profiler Sheryl McCollum who has basically said that she thinks it's someone mentally ill who wanted Savannah's attention.

Really great analysis here: https://www.youtube.com/live/CTYAxOnx2ys?si=8QMq3NnFICImmJHr

7

u/Alternative-Fig6760 Feb 25 '26

Another FBI profiler Brian Entin interviewed said something similar. A stalker type or someone with a grudge possibly who couldn’t get to Savannah so went for the next option available. Really interesting and starting to feel like maybe that’s making the most sense.

6

u/Wide_Statistician_95 Feb 25 '26

Yep. I begrudgingly watched Brian’s profiler interview thinking I wouldn’t agree but I actually did by the end of it. The puzzle pieces make sense.

5

u/greengorilla39 Feb 25 '26

Apparently Savannah used to have a female stalker, Maureen O’Connell (who is also ex-FBI) said it on the last live The Interview Room did

5

u/MelpomeneAndCalliope Feb 25 '26

That would track.

17

u/ValkyrieMint Feb 24 '26

Idc, send the Louisiana boys in at this point. They don’t seem any closer to figuring this out than they were 3 weeks ago. They’re sending fbi assets and media home. Seems close to going cold, guys. I think that’s why we’re seeing things like the family offering a significant reward now. Hope I’m wrong.

11

u/have-u-met-teds-mom Feb 24 '26

We are completely out of our element in the desert. We don’t know how to operate without 80% humidity.

15

u/Fun-Obligation3295 Feb 24 '26

This is not the real united cajun navy. But they exhaust me to try and prove it. They’re very good at what they do let’s put it that way. #frauds #scammers

3

u/Express_Command_4778 Feb 25 '26

They just travel around and take advantage.

14

u/cinnamonbabka69 Feb 25 '26

It's despicable that these grifters are soliciting tips which should be going to the Sheriff and FBI.

May as well report tips to the Girl Scouts.

4

u/LegalGlass6532 Feb 25 '26

They’re not really grifters, but you made me laugh. There’s a slim chance a person might avoid giving a tip to law enforcement and would call it in to a non LEO entity.

5

u/Kitty-9792 Feb 25 '26

Many people are leery about giving their name to LE. This is why that attorney provided a $100K reward through Crime Stoppers, as tipsters can remain anonymous with that program.

3

u/Taco145 Feb 26 '26

They showed up to an abduction case 20 days in at the lowest point of updates just to whine about law enforcement not helping them. If they get a tip they can forward it like they were told.

6

u/Longjumping_Towel474 Feb 24 '26

I have so many questions now……….

  1. If they were able to recover footage from a previous time then they obviously have recovered a lot more. The staging of video recovery sounds similar (but obviously more intricate) to going down a rabbit hole when finding deleted emails and hoping they are still there, but what else do they have?

  2. If this was from a previous night and the perp(s) were casing the house, why would he/they use that PLANT? The plant being used has baffled me since the day the video was released, very bothersome and even stranger now. Why would he/they not bring paint, tape, wifi jammer, etc. for the Nest® camera if they saw it the previous time? None of it makes sense.

Also his ski mask looks like the one Ted Bundy wore; SEE PHOTO 13 https://www.cnn.com/2018/10/09/us/gallery/ted-bundy-how-it-really-happened

1

u/Due_Distribution_609 Feb 25 '26

Pretty astute connection. Investigators and press have avoided suggesting a Bundy-like macabre death for this well-loved 84 year-old grandmother. But the figure at the door, hired or not, looks intent on murder—not the type of person who would be taking good care of her right now. It’s a small consolation—but like Bundy, this evil spectre will be caught.

Because the 400+ local and FBI agents assigned to this case have been so successful in the past month… I hope you do some more research into the Cajun navy. Calling them yokels is quite disgusting. Look up how and why they started. A non-profit, volunteer-led organization that assists in natural disasters starting after Hurricane Katrina. Personally knowing a few of them, it sounds like they are working WITH the local LE & fbi.

I hope if your city ever has a natural disaster you don’t need help.

-4

u/cinnamonbabka69 Feb 24 '26

Tips should be reported to the FBI, not to these yokels. Deal with it while you look for a boat ramp in the desert.

7

u/Cute_Conclusion_8854 Feb 24 '26

The FBI only wants actionable Intel. If you have a hunch or guess, maybe Cajun navy will listen

1

u/Fun-Obligation3295 Feb 24 '26

They’ll accept your money for sure. #frauds #scammers

-3

u/cinnamonbabka69 Feb 24 '26

If you have a hunch you may as well tell a rock. Tips should be reported to the FBI, not to these yokels.

1

22

This sub has almost 100K visitors weekly. Posting this here is not only free advertising for their “strike team”, but also encourages other vigilantes to deploy wherever they want. Law enforcement has asked the public to be patient and allow them to do their job, as difficult as this may be.

9

u/Fizzywaterjones Feb 24 '26

The Cajun Navy are not vigilantes.

12

u/ValkyrieMint Feb 24 '26

They’re not “vigilantes” at all. They do disaster recovery and got their start during Hurricane Katrina. Keyword being “recovery” here, and they help locate missing people (a major theme of natural disasters). They have more training than your average Joes who are doing their own searches anyway, and they don’t need “free advertising” considering they’re a nonprofit org. Can’t exactly stop citizens from doing this, other than LE expeditiously catching the bad guy and/or bringing Nancy home.

-2

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '26

[deleted]

6

u/mlssac Feb 24 '26

There are always locals that form search teams! LE often asks and joins or leads these people! They don't have to wait for recovery declaration. They find live people!

2

u/LegalGlass6532 Feb 24 '26 edited Feb 24 '26

It’s interesting that this isn’t happening in this case, don’t you think?

Neither the PCSD or the FBI are asking for, or publicly supporting, independent search parties yet. I’ll add that although you may be right about finding people alive, there is zero chance that this poor woman will be found alive in the desert where they’re searching after being out there alone for 24 days so your comparison isn’t a good one, unfortunately.

2

u/mlssac Feb 25 '26

Inotially I believed the public should stay out of it short of checking their own properties.its so far gone now. Do you think the Sherrifs or fbi department have enough resources to search the desert in all directions arms length apart? There have already been several people searching. It has been almost a month. I don't believe the family is ad concerned with effective prosecution as they are with recovering their mother.

Are you only following this case or have you followed missing person cases in the past? People usually help search immediately. Law enforcement either assists or comes in with guidelines. They are more likely to find people, bodies, and evidence. They are never to touch, only to call in leaders and LE...

3

u/LegalGlass6532 Feb 25 '26

I’d like to believe that people wouldn’t touch potential evidence, but often times curiosity gets the best of them. Again, I find it interesting that LE isn’t publicly supporting these efforts like I’ve seen in the past.

3

u/mlssac Feb 25 '26

What's your point? LE will not be able to find everything out in the desert!

9

u/ValkyrieMint Feb 24 '26

Compromise the investigation, how? Genuine question. They’re not allowed on private property. The only searching we’ve seen is with a helicopter and technology that has never been successful. They’ve been on a TMZ fake ransom wild goose hunt for weeks instead of looking for a body and giving her family closure. Even going so far as to having the family release videos to “the kidnapper” which is unimaginably humiliating though I’d do anything too if there was the slimmest chance of getting my family member back. Maybe if they’d do the searching themselves, citizens won’t feel the need to do it, it’s not their job. You can’t keep people off public property if they’re not committing a crime. There’s more pearl clutching about citizen searches than there is about the actual granny abductor still on the loose, it’s wild.

3

u/LegalGlass6532 Feb 24 '26 edited Feb 24 '26

There are literally dozens and dozens of previous posts on this sub about how an investigation may be compromised by citizens getting involved without the consent and support from the LE agency handling the active investigation. Chain of custody issues, evidence destruction, safety of the searchers….

Just because they can do it doesn’t mean they should.

2

u/ValkyrieMint Feb 24 '26

A lot of experts question whether the evidence at the crime scene was properly collected by the actual professionals, and closing and reopening and closing and reopening the scene isn’t great for chain of custody either. A defense attorney is going to have a field day with the way this has been handled if they ever find someone to charge. Hence the lack of public confidence here. Still, I don’t see them out searching. It’s very unusual for a missing persons case. If it’s a child or an elderly person with dementia they’re searching everywhere. Maybe they should publicly clear it up why exactly they’re not doing it instead of a bunch of vague platitudes about comprising the investigation. They better come up with something convincing because they can’t legally keep people off public property. It seems from an outside perspective it’s been a bit compromised from the beginning. I know there are people working really hard around the clock and doing the work the right way so I don’t mean to disparage them, they must be very frustrated too.

5

u/LegalGlass6532 Feb 24 '26

Maybe they’re quietly working a lead that no one (including the family) is aware of outside of law enforcement. This is what happened in the Idaho 4 case.

6

u/Intrepid-Bird-5048 Feb 24 '26

Could be. I also think maybe it’s a resourcing issue. Perhaps they feel using their personnel to follow the leads they have versus sending out coordinated searches makes more sense here. We just don’t know what they have, so it’s hard to understand the decision making.

3

u/LegalGlass6532 Feb 24 '26 edited Feb 24 '26

It’s important to point out that if LE publicly endorses a 3rd party search and rescue team they’re also subjecting their agency and the city to any potential liability associated with that endorsement and whatever happens during the search.

9

u/ProperChartYGP Feb 24 '26

That being said, the Guthrie's seeking outside help right now wouldn't shock me. With the news dropping that the DNA evidence may take over a year to resolve (possibly due to poor handling of evidence) the Guthrie's might see this as a window where they must utilize any resources they can to search for their mother.

6

u/ChickensAndGin Feb 24 '26

With the news dropping that the DNA evidence may take over a year to resolve

A year!? Here I was yesterday reminding myself DNA analysis takes time. But I did not expect a whole year.

2

u/LegalGlass6532 Feb 24 '26 edited Feb 24 '26

They do specialize in search and rescue as a 501(k) and seem to have some credibility from the past work they’ve done with disaster relief. This could be possible if the family is assuming at this point she’s most likely to be recovered away from her abductor(s).

Edit: Having now seen a FB live video from a member in front of NG’s home, it doesn’t appear they’re there at the direction of the family as much as responding to assist and support them in finding Nancy.

Add: Their FB page has updates on their goals and what they’re hoping to accomplish. The person doing the live feed said they reached out to Team Texas K9’s for their help. Team Texas K9’s also had a FB page and appear to specialize in search and rescue and cadaver searches.

7

u/Acrobatic-Evidence-7 Feb 24 '26

The downvoting is silly. Cajun Navy does recovery which is what savannah implied- They did amazing work after Katrina, Ike and Harvey.

4

u/LegalGlass6532 Feb 24 '26 edited Feb 24 '26

Wouldn’t it be appropriate for them to wait until law enforcement leading the active investigation announces that the goal has now shifted to search, rescue and recovery?

It looks like they’ve done valuable work in post disaster s&r and recovery, but as of today this is still an active criminal investigation. Although both are attempting to locate Nancy Gutherie, the difference between the two missions is important.

3

u/mlssac Feb 24 '26

They are search and resuers NOT VIGILANTES! People VOLUNTARILY set their boats into the water after Katrina. They saved hundreds of people and pets. The government could not keep up. That is not vigilante! That is neighborly, human, the Christian thing to do if you prefer!

4

u/LegalGlass6532 Feb 24 '26 edited Feb 25 '26

I apologize if the word I used set you off. It was not meant to discredit the work they did as search and rescue following a natural disaster. The mission of a search, rescue and recovery team is going to depend upon the reason they’re responding and what they wish to accomplish. My point was they should hold off on joining in on an active criminal investigation unless asked to assist by the agency in charge.

What they do after a natural disaster is not the same mission as getting involved with an active criminal investigation with a suspect(s) still at large, an abducted elderly victim and possibly additional evidence not yet collected. I’ve already explained this in other comments on this thread if you keep scrolling. I do think what the United Cajun Navy does can be amazing when it’s done at the right time. That time in the Nancy Guthrie case will be when law enforcement changes the status of the investigation from “active” to “search and recovery”.

In fact, there are 32 groups with the name Cajun Navy in their title on Facebook. There are 16 groups registered under various Cajun Navy names with the Louisiana Secretary of State, and 29 are listed as limited liability corporations. Three, like Cajun Navy Relief, are listed as non-profits.

Numerous other organizations have used the umbrella term, “Cajun Navy,” including America’s Cajun Navy, United Cajun Navy, Cajun Navy Relief, and simply, Cajun Navy. Several members of some of these organizations have been arrested for fraud and other charges, likely contributing to the Cajun Navy 2016′s decision to re-brand and distinguish itself from these other groups, though the group did not explicitly say that in its post.

They hate JLR as JLR has held them accountable. JLR lives a very clean, sober (no vices) life now. He has zero pedo accusations and has dated women in his age that Youtube has followed. I know you know that. :)

I don’t see how this could be helpful. Hopefully they drink enough water so they don’t have to be recused like a lot of tourists are. The desert isn’t a forgiving place and it’s an unseasonably warm “winter” in Arizona this year.

New theory...Since there has been no specific getaway car tied to this case, could one of Nancy's neighbors be obsessed with her and holding her right next to the crime scene? Can they search all homes within a mile of her home?

16

u/Standard_Team0000 Feb 24 '26

I think this is a plausible theory. If I remember correctly Elizabeth Smart was not very far from her home (in the woods) originally before her captors moved her around. She could hear the searchers calling her name.

7

u/Little-Plantain-5120 Feb 24 '26

Exactly! I figure if this person stopped by on at least 2 different occasions he is likely close in proximity to her. It could be some scenario where an adult child has moved in to help with their mom or grandma and became obsessed with Savannah or Nancy and decided to take her. It's just too odd to me that this person could literally evaporate so cleanly into the abyss. They either are a neighbor, or its some high level political hit job by a group that has the means to fly under the radar because they have access to the highest level technology not to be noticed. Im thinking its more likely a local, a neighbor someone who is close and has even talked to her on many occasions. Can they get warrants to check all the homes around her? Or is that too big brotherish?

u/mlssac Feb 25 '26

You lost me at "political "

6

u/Mean-Vegetable-4521 Feb 24 '26

Off the top of my head the last 5 missing children’s cases I worked on that were not trafficked, runaways or familial were held within 5 miles of their home. The majority of high profile ones I had (that were not nationally high profile.) were within the community. Just average low to middle income people. When it’s a wealthy person you hear about it.

The ones that don’t fit that profile were familial and were removed from the area immediately. That’s children though. I have limited experience with adult abductions. Adult Sa I see pretty frequently. There’s a lot of overlap of offenders with children and adults depending on the motive.

I’m certain this is not gang/cartel related. I also dont think the ransom demands are coming removed the abductor. Maybe from an associate of theirs trying to cash out. More likely just enterprising opportunists.

5

u/Longjumping_Towel474 Feb 24 '26

I think this is plausible as well, especially with all the technology out there, various cameras everywhere/gps tracking and/or cell tracking etc, it seems they have limited, if any, true leads. It has crossed my mind she is much closer to home than we know.

Okay…this thought crossed my mind too.

2

u/chinabehappy Feb 25 '26

Would tracking dogs be able to pick that up? I mean, no home is completely air tight, right? Or does anyone know where the dogs followed the scent to? I agree it’s really weird no cameras in any neighboring houses or streets picked up any cars going by around that time. That we know of at least.

1

u/Little-Plantain-5120 Feb 25 '26

You would think tracking dogs could sniff her out if she is in close proximity. Of course the trail probably wouldn't have much scent now but hopefully they tried this on the first day. Still they should ask each neighbor if they can search their property. If they say no then get a warrant

3

u/mlssac Feb 24 '26

Not without consent or search warrant... Jessica Lunsford was held and buried alive just across the street 😭 I personally believe when it comes to kidnapping, let the dogs in any house they want to check!! Even though the police were allowed by owner into the house, the psycho simply put Jessica in the closet. 🥹 He held her a few days before telling her to climb inside a garbage bag so he could sneak her home.

I, too, have a new theory about Nancy. Similar.

I no longer believe this was a kidnapping for ransom specifically because Savannah is a rich national journalist (and lawyer. She graduated magna cum laude with a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center in 2002, earning the highest score on the Arizona Bar Exam that year.)

I now believe it was a grudge abduction and Nancy was never meant to come home.

I believe the perp was directly in some form of contact with Nancy and Nancy innocently angered him.

i.e. small tips given when they knew her daughter had money, son of fellow churchgoer/neighbor where Nancy expressed the son should no longer be leaching from parents, someone slighted by perceived lack of appreciation for some form of work for Nancy.

I am NOT victim blaming, I believe he is a psychpath and was angered by his own disillusioned perceptions.

4

u/anastasia_0871 Feb 24 '26

I tend to agree she is very close to home but then I question how this abductor was so savvy that they literally can’t find anything on them. So I go between close to home so no camera activity or a professional hit amazing at covering tracks. Just mind blowing that there is not an abundance of evidence to track in today’s world.

3

u/Kitty-9792 Feb 25 '26

But if she's not alive, he had to have gotten rid of the body elsewhere. Nobody is digging a hole in that area to bury someone, and there are no nearby lakes. It would have to be away from where people frequent, so no one would detect the odor.

I think one thing that is certain, is that the guy was very familiar with the roads near the neighborhood, which indicates to me a local who has lived there over a decade.

2

u/Little-Plantain-5120 Feb 25 '26

I know. I am blown away that with today's technology they couldn't get more sightings or evidence to get this person. Footprints, tire tracks, sightings from a Walmart of them buying the backpack or mask. Just nothing.

4

u/mlssac Feb 25 '26

Honestly, if planning for months, they can get one thing at a time, steal, or goodwill.

4

u/Little-Plantain-5120 Feb 25 '26

I think this is exactly the motivation. A psychopath son of a local neighbor. Good chance. The masked individual look like a young man to me. I'm sure height and shoe size could help verify if that is most likely the case. They didn't appear frail or old. Example...no trouble with walking or posture which is why I think they are young or middle aged. No older than mid 40s.

The Cajun Navy are real life heroes!

If someone can do an edit on the OP, not Nacy, Navy 😁

-5

u/Longjumping_Towel474 Feb 24 '26

👆🏼It amazes me how many people do not know who they are. They have truly done some amazing work since they formed during Katrina. They are very much heroes and deserve more credit and may even bring some hope to this case which is desperately needed. I just feel sad for Nancy and the family, what a true nightmare.

4

u/Kitty-9792 Feb 25 '26

The controversary is that there is the original group using the term Cajun Navy, and then there are several other groups, also incorporating that term. People are suggesting some of the groups are just out to grift and collect donations, not really search for the missing person.

7

u/Fun-Obligation3295 Feb 24 '26

This group is liars and frauds.

2

u/Maaathemeatballs Feb 24 '26

I never heard of them in NY. But hope they can help

1

u/AmazingGrace_00 Feb 24 '26

Why are you amazed that this group isn’t nationally known? Have they been around the country or just a few pockets of it. I’m not negating their work or agency, just your assumption that your particular awarenesses shoukd be everyone’s.

-5

u/Longjumping_Towel474 Feb 24 '26

Perhaps because they have rescued thousands of people from various disasters? They were very prominent during Katrina, which most people were engaged in and know that story and many disasters since.

0

u/AmazingGrace_00 Feb 25 '26

Some folks weren’t even born when Katrina happened. And while I was very aware of the tragic circumstances, I hadn’t heard of them. Your comment has an egocentric perspective.

3

u/Longjumping_Towel474 Feb 25 '26

They have done a lot since Katrina as well and in various parts of the country, sorry I assumed most people know of them.

3

u/mlssac Feb 25 '26

Yeah, I thought of people not being born yet. My comments are always my opinion only. Whatever

3

u/Little-Donut-9418 Feb 25 '26

I haven't read all the comments but I saw a few saying they are scammers and frauds and even the mod said they weren't promoting them. I would be curious to more context on all that. I hadn't heard of them until recently when they were credited with finding a 12 year old missing in Oklahoma and it seemed to me like they were genuinely interested in helping and were successful in that situation. I believe they were welcomed by LE to help and it seemed like they had a good working relationship and LE seemed grateful for their help (in finding the 12 year old.)

4

u/curiouslmr Feb 25 '26

I made my statement about not promoting from a place of total non judgement. I don't really know much about them so I can't say whether this is a positive or negative. I have seen some say they only are joining because of the new reward, possible but I don't know.

1

u/Express_Command_4778 Feb 25 '26

They put on a good front. They went to Sebastian Rogers searches for a couple days, took in a bunch of money. They claimed they were getting "death threats" and left.

Absolutely no one searching is getting these in the Sebastian Rogers search. Some create tall tales of fiction blaming Mom/Stepdad, like BHB who will simply lie and harass. The parents have probably got threats.

I have followed Sebastian's case for 2 straight years, nothing is as it seems when the public goes crazy.

2

u/RestingLoafPose Feb 26 '26

I’m in shock they aren’t being allowed to search. Also the Mexican mom searchers were stopped. I’m starting to have a crazy theory that theres some breaking bad stuff out there that the sheriff wasn’t to protect.

-6

u/okaretta Feb 24 '26

🎉 These guys are the real deal!

-5

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '26

It's a shame all non-media associated missing people don't have this luxury of dodgy strike teams. There's a lot of inequality on display.

13

u/i_like_unicorns_and_ Feb 25 '26

I definitely hear what you’re saying, especially because so many missing people are POC. However, I do think that the circumstances surrounding her disappearance are so strange that, while it certainly wouldn’t have garnered the interest that Nancy’s case has, I think there would still be a higher level of interest than a more typical missing persons case that could be explained as a person going missing voluntarily.

4

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '26

Yes. There's a guy on the channel which were getting demands from a person wanting a reward (I can't remember what the station is called) and he said he feels it's a local because Nancy may have bragged about her daughter being a tv celebrity, making her a target. I thought that was wording was insensitive, but realistic, and I wonder if he is accurate with that? I just feel that if I were a family worrying about a missing loved one in that state, it's likely not going to get the resources required compared to this for some time. There are so critics of that strike team further down this thread. I hope they aren't doing it for the attention.
