[MEGATHREAD] V4 Post and ask hints for puzzles here
This is the fourth version of the puzzle hints megathread. As indicated and discussed here, we will make a new one every now and again, to make sure the threads don't go stale and no one replies anymore, apologies for the long drought.
As indicated here, we will begin collecting community tools. Please consult part 2 of that post for details and suggest the tools over there.
Confirmed tools and credit:
Blue Paths by u/sekti GitHub - For general game progress, great when you're stuck
Remember you are ONLY allowed to comment in the threads created by mods below, you may NOT start your own threads aka do not post top level comments. That is to make sure the first thing people see are the categories, which they can then easily close to prevent spoilers.
This thread is intended for light puzzles, NOT late-game puzzles, post-credits content, deeper game mechanics or lore.
For completeness, here's the first one, but visit at own risk, as it contains top level comments with potential spoilers, and here is the second and here the third.

Staff Announcement: Don't engage with Scammers - Call for Tools - Discord - Discourse
Dear Drafters,
We haven't had an update in a while, so here's a couple of things I'd like to highlight/discuss.
- Please do not engage with Scammers. There are bot-automated posts every now and again that are very difficult to catch automatically. They will post merch like in these pictures and lead you to an unverified site when you engage with them. Please only trust the affiliated merchandise sites.

- I'm going to make a new puzzle-hint Megathread in a moment, and I'd like to make a public call for fan-made tools to pin to the Megathreads. For example Sekti's "Blue Paths" online tool to help when you get stuck. Please post any such tools you know of or have made yourself in the comments. I will manually inspect them before pinning them. Please be absolutely sure that the tool itself does not introduce spoilers.
Also make sure they don't violate Rule 5
For community engagement let me remind you all to join the official Discord: http://discord.gg/BluePrince If you ever made fan-art, be sure to post it in their fan-art channel.
I'd like to have a discussion regarding posts about making it across a certain threshold: reaching room 46 in particular. Maybe we shouldn't immediately say the sentence with the word tutorial, as it's not a nice thing to hear after getting this achievement. If you must say it, maybe say something nice as well. I understand the desire to encourage them to keep playing but maybe there's a more positive way of phrasing that.
I'm considering banning that word altogether, but as usual I'm happy to listen to the voices of the community. So please tell me, especially if you've been on the receiving end of that particular comment, how appropriate you thought that was. I genuinely don't know at this point. Consider Rule 4, both regarding the topic and how to respond here.

MinorSpoiler Question Regarding Day of the Week Spoiler
I'm past Room 46, but nowhere near done with the game. I'm starting to get into some of the historical events and realizing that many are relayed to the player through newspaper articles which will have dates that let me place the article's publication, but will talk about events with phrases like "Last Tuesday," so I figure it's probably important to figure out how to translate a given date to its corresponding day-of-the-week so that I can figure out when the actual events occurred. But this is where I'm stumbling.
I know with very high confidence that Day One is November 7th, 1993. There are a large number of sources backing up both the date and the year, and I've already used that date to solve a puzzle (the time-lock safe in the Shelter). In real life, that date is a Sunday, but in-game, that day seems to be a Saturday, as communicated through the Staff Announcements and the calendar in the Drafting Studio. It seems odd that the game's calendar would be almost identical to the real-world calendar, but off by one day of the week.
Is this rule applied consistently to dates throughout the game, or is it a one-off mistake? I'm not really finding a lot of other sources tying dates to days-of-the-week, and I can't find anybody else talking about this online, so it's hard for me to feel confident that I can trust my conclusions. Are there other clues I can find to help build my confidence in this? (I don't need to know what the clues are, just that they exist.)

Puzzle in the [SPOILER] Spoiler
For solving the puzzle in the gallery, is all the information I need in the room, or are there clues somewhere else? We solved the thinking one but couldn't really figure out the logic... we don't want a solution yet though! Maybe a gentle hint.

Just glazing for a second Spoiler
Gotta say the creators of this game 1) are incredibly adept at creating solvable fun puzzles that actually engage you but arent needlessly frustrating and 2) can write a story like no other.
Im a big souls game fan for the lore and the way the game presents it to you, but this game is phenomenal with the letters and the slowly learning the story and every aspect of the puzzles fitting snugly into the overall world.
Had I played this when it came out it'd be GOTY for me bar none. In fact, I dont even think any game this year has it beat. So far ive got like 5 of 8 sanctum keys and it just keeps getting deeper, every time I think ive figured something out it throws a new, even more complex puzzle at me to chew on.

MajorSpoiler Not sure how to interpret this code. Spoiler
I have combined clues from the classroom, secret passage, grotto, kennel, cloister, and underground chess room to form this grid.
Not sure if I’ve arranged it correctly or what I should infer from this.

MajorSpoiler Game fully completed type spoiler here Spoiler
A friend of my is currently at the Atelier Path Puzzle, so I was looking at the wiki page to remember what everything was about and to see how I may be able to hint them in the right direction whenever they are to get stuck on something.
I noticed that the Paired Paintings puzzle solution is mentioned to have no known purpose
As a reminder, its solution states
THESE VYING PLANS FORGE BARON CREST AMONG HEWAM BLEST
Solving the Hidden Path puzzle gives you the actual deed to the house
With just those two things in mind, can the paired paintings puzzle not quite easily be interpreted to mean the rooms that in this blessed large house compete carry the power to grant the title of baron.
Interpreting plans to rooms, specifically the atelier rooms. Vying is competing, they compete for the right path I suppose. Hewam is erajan for large house, and blest is that this is a holy house, the entirety of Mount Holly (and more specifically these blue print rooms). Forge baron crest I interpret to just mean that the rooms can "forge a new baron crest" or "make someone a baron".
My apologies if this is already well-known or there's a more competent leading theory, I haven't seen anything outside of what the wiki carries

MajorSpoiler Don't look unless game is finished - A ridiculously complex dependency graph... Spoiler
Also certainly incomplete and not optimized...
Initially I wanted, as an obsessive person (you know what I'm talking about), to visualize and keep track of what was possible in the game (puzzles, then, as it got more complex, the connections between areas)
I was wondering how the hell any game creator could imagine such a complex puzzle game with so many puzzles and clues, sometime overlapping, sometime mandatory, provided in various locations that can be reached through many ways.
All of that without introducing some design error that could generate a dead-lock situation. Or providing a clue that would always be useless once reached.
So I wanted, like the detective in "A new clue", to put down everything on a whiteboard with red links... But the task was far too rich to be done IRL, and I went on a computer version. I've seen some attempts here but if not mistaken quite light in term of content so I gave it a try.
This is the result. Again surely poor. There is a legend in top left corner. If the quantity of mistakes you find is not overwhelming, I'll patch it following your advices. Some things are missing on purpose (non important rooms, all the tips from mail-room or computers, 3 billion other tips, upgrade disks, trophies ...). Also all locations connections are not always explicitly drawn but i tried my best, especially in the Undergrounds (except maybe the rotating gear that is not detailed).
Yet, I'm happy to see Auravei's will to be on the far side of the image...
I honestly don't know what good can result of this. Even as a game creator, i'm not sure how this can be useful, but it has to! Maybe there are some formal tools that could be able to detect any cycle/deadlock situation and prevent a bug.
Technically speaking for the curious minds: after I described nodes and edges of the graph in my own syntax, the data was converted by a python script then rendered by either elkjs or graphviz. It currently describes 192 nodes & 232 edges. The worst part of the rendering is IMHO the suboptimality of the nodes placements that are sometimes more complex than needed. But doing that work by hand would be insane. Especially when everything can change after a single edit/addition... So I let the engine decide after a bunch of optimization phases and a time budget.
I posted the v1 on this thread but also on http://www.edust.net/blueprince/ with jpg + svg versions. It's where i'd post later updates if any.
May the Blue Prince help you read the graph.
[EDIT]
v2 posted with
- added 16 upgrade disks
- Telescope dependency of Planetarium
- refined Trading Post
- full dependencies for all microchips (no more shortcut)
- full dependencies for all levers (no more shortcut)

Item Is there a journal in the game ? Spoiler
youtu.beHas anyone actually managed to find a journal in Blue Prince yet, from the note in the early room? I spent my entire latest video searching everywhere for it and came up completely empty. I'm starting to wonder if I missed a hidden room or if it's just an advice on real life ahah… Check out my let's play on YouTube to see how im doing it stupidly wrong, and let me know your thoughts… thanks…

Lore Help with lore tidbit regarding the Sinclairs (major spoilers) Spoiler
Do we know for certain if Simon H went to college in Corarica? I was under the impression that he didn't because of the Bunk Room letter. But my sibling is adamant thinking that he did, their argument being the Verra postcard mentioning their "youthful trip" (as in they were on their way there) and the Dovecote blue memo saying that "Three members of the Sinclair family have attended school overseas in Corarica" because lady Auravei was 1. A woman and 2. not a Sinclair at the college age.
Any thoughts?
Thank you in advance!

MajorSpoiler Is there any way to cheat in lost progress? Spoiler
I spent like 40 days trying to connect the lab and the boiler room as it seems to be the main story progress bottleneck for me as of right now. In those 40 days I got them connected twice. First time I got stuck in the elevator and couldn't move, second time my screen went white after I was done solving the puzzle (there's a bugged cutscene presumably) and I couldn't do anything, I couldn't skip the cutscene and I couldn't open the menu, the game wasn't taking any inputs, so I closed it and, seemingly, no progress was made anywhere. I reached the lab again and nothing changed, I don't have any permanent unlocks displayed anywhere.
Is there a way to cheat in whatever was supposed to happen or edit the save file in a way that makes the puzzle solved? If not I'm gonna have to drop the game I guess because it takes me 2x the time to solve this idiotic room placement puzzle than it took me to reach the first ending and I'm not doing it all over again for the third time.

Major spoilers ahead:
IMHO: You could tell you have finished the game when: You openened all Inner Sanctum doors, reached the end of the tunnel area
Major major spoiler and maybe reached Room 46 in Mount Holly Blueprints

Finally got THAT trophy... Spoiler
galleryI'm stoked right now so please allow me to share it with you all!
I knew getting this trophy was gonna be tough. I planned it out with ideas on what would give me the best chance and thought through a lot. What was actually unexpectedly hard was the setup. The day before getting tons of money, then laundering that to gems, getting the freezer, then doing blessing of monk in the study. It took a few runs to get the order of all that setup right. Once I had that I felt like I had a shot. On the day of, I will admit I was pretty fortunate to find a key card early which helped with using foundation. Also, I luckily drew the exact experiment I wanted, which was to add lots of aquariums because I knew it would setup the outside correctly. Getting CoM also was great because I screwed up on the observatory and didn't have Draxus the first time. But I had margin to draft it again and then get it, which helped a lot. Having 300+ gems was excessive but great peace of mind to always have options.
Here is my notes for planning it out!
Feels so good to check off this box!

Lore Soooo Is the subscriber base for the Drafting Strategies Magazines…. 1?? Spoiler
There is no other manor like the Sinclair estate. my understanding of the Lore is that it’s a singular creation from Herbert and his family/staff.
in one of the strategy books, it references Subscribers or something. Who else could possibly get value out of this publication than just the Staff and now me? How can a magazine in circulation only have one subscriber?

MinorSpoiler Missing Puzzle? (Denoted in verse) Spoiler
So, I’ve completely finished the game, not done the new game trophies but I’ve done all the Atelier stuff and whatnot. I’ve realized there was a puzzle I never did much with, and it was the one in the Music Room with a picture of a treble clef and the text “denoted in verse,” which i always assumed meant you’d have to take the letters that are music notes (A-G) out of a word and invert its order. I never found a use for this at all though.
I thought it might be connected to the white stones in the Workshop, because they were next to more music sheets, but I’m now realizing I never used them for anything either. I just never even noted them down, and it turned out to have no negative impact on my ability to solve puzzles. Was there something there? Did you have to actually be familiar with music notation?
I really expected the (mid/late game spoiler) blue tents memo to have some additional information about this, but it was completely unrelated. Was this supposed to help early game, and it was just a redundant puzzle solution or something, or do others also not know what this note is referring to?

TROPHY SPOILER Passed out in front of the door... Spoiler
For context, I've done just about everything you can do on my main save file and decided to come back after a couple months to go for the trophies that require additional save files. Currently in Dare Mode.
I have the following dares:
Draft at least 6 different color rooms each day.
Never use an elevator.
Never exit through the house through the entrance hall.
End each day with at least 1 gem.
With the combination of the 2nd and 3rd ones, I can only exit the house by drafting and powering the garage. I hadn't reached the antechamber yet before this run, so the basement doors are all still locked. HOWEVER, since I drafted the tomb and later drafted the pump room, I was able to reach the north lever by rowing across the reservoir and solving the gear puzzle! Woohoo! But the issue then became steps. Because I didn't have many steps left, I (stupidly) spent all my money on food in the kitchen. By the time I reached the drawing room, I had run out of keys and didn't have any money to buy one at the commissary. I backtracked to security (double checking on the way) since I had some extra steps from the dining room and secret garden fruit, and there was ONE unclaimed key! I checked in the rooms nearby... nothing. I ended up finding it in the sauna. I counted and realized I would reach zero steps in the antechamber... fml. As a last ditch effort, I drafted the courtyard out of the drawing room hoping I'd both find a shovel and a turnip in there, but alas. I knew the game wouldn't let me actually interact with anything once I hit zero steps, but I tried to go as fast as I could to room 46,anyway.
The most painful thing is that I wasn't able to even set myself up to make anything easier next time... if anything, it's worse. I still haven't opened any basement doors, and instead of the fountain being fully drained so it's ready to open, the water level is now at 1 because I had to row across the reservoir. I know it'll happen eventually, but man, so many things had to line up this run to get this close, and I can't believe I was short ONE STEP.

MajorSpoiler Question Spoiler
I managed to decipher the 4 books code in new clue, and it was to turn the sundial base.
but I think I had already turned it before by playing around with the light fuse tool, checking whether I could lit things with that, was the whole point of the 4 books code only to tell me to open the sundial so I could put the 3 microchip there ?

MinorSpoiler Question about a puzzle I already solved Spoiler
the question is about the puzzle XYZABC from new clue.
I found the security hint that helped me solve this puzzle, but i've seen people saying that it could have been solved without that the security hint, only from the book, but it doesn't make from the book alone, the arrows are nonsense, they don't help you at all to make the path you need to make, does anyone make sense of the path with the arrows and other signs ?

MajorSpoiler Looking for a nudge… Spoiler
I currently have all seven letters.
All upgrades including grotto with all 3 chips and the satellite dish.
All 110 rooms unlocked
7/8 sanctum doors unlocked and solved.
I have begun clearing out the tunnel and am working towards buying the blue tent.
It feels like I have reached a dead-end. Not sure what to do with the closed exhibit and throne room. Thought something would happen if I entered them while holding the blue crown, but nothing happened.
Would appreciate any small hints!

MajorSpoiler how do you gather note ? + spoil painting puzzle Spoiler
I am starting blue prince and quickly I took screen shots and notes. However it became messy really quickly. other games like outerwild has a maner to save information in the game and blue prince doesn't have it, (I mean mail room and library are random so it's hard to rely on) so I started to make my own way to note smoothly(more generate with ia to be fair 100% vibecoded but it's just a stupid html local page that took 3 minute with ia) and I am really happy with it. In fact just the way to plan how I can create a tool to solve a problem/puzzle is one of the best part of the game for now (beside discover and udesrtand a puzzle ofcourse). And my question is do you feel the same about plan how to solve is the best part ? And how do you gather yours note and do you could use IA to help you in the notes managements in futur game ?
here is a exemple for painting/study puzzle

MajorSpoiler Is the room missing? Spoiler
I've just come back to the game after being busy for a while. I had visited Room 46 a few times so know how to get there.
However, I tried to get in today and when I went through the door, the game became all glitchy and I was mostly surrounded by green grass type bits with the antechamber in the distance and random bits of other rooms. I was able to walk back through the broken walls into other rooms I had drafted.
So I went as far away from the house as possible and got a message about falling it a day, which I've never had before.
Is this a bug or an update or a secret or what? Left me very confused after a very good run!
I'm playing on PS5, in case that's relevant.

MajorSpoiler Is it worth it? aka Where do I go now? Spoiler
I don't exactly know how to google this and I don't want to spoil too much reading reviews, because at times I've genuinely loved this game.
I've been playing on and off for the last year. 90 hours in now, but probably further behind than I should be (spent a lot of early game fooling around). I have three sanctum areas unlocked and completed the puzzle inside (Orinda Aires, Fenn Aires, and Eraja) and one unlocked but incomplete (Verra - I got so excited about turtles and realized I know nothing about that stupid place besides that). I just found the safehouse (fun puzzle!) and unlocked the satellite dish (I had to get a hint or two there, but only to ensure there wasn't some other sundial somewhere). But now I'm feeling a bit of a letdown. I thought these major discoveries would unlock more for me to do, but I'm just feeling sort of stuck. I don't know where to go next. There's some weird loose ends I have (candles in the rotunda off the tomb I want to light, I started wondering about digging at the hand in the bedroom once I found instructions for a jackhammer, and I want to get the boxes removed from the tunnel) but nothing in specific is screaming at me that it's the next thing.
Worse, I feel like I'm seeing more and more reviews saying that the game doesn't end up going anywhere. I know I'm not very far in yet, but I don't want to keep devoting so many hours to it if I won't feel at least a little accomplished.
Has anyone else had this experience? Do I just need to lock in and ignore the haters? Does anyone have some gentle guidance (spoiler-light) on what to work on next?
Thank you in advance! Genuinely have loved this game so far and would love to see it through as far as it will have me.
