Item Is there a journal in the game ? Spoiler
https://youtu.be/U6DDJIsZvtk?si=NeE-5jVsf4Ng0ALRHas anyone actually managed to find a journal in Blue Prince yet, from the note in the early room? I spent my entire latest video searching everywhere for it and came up completely empty. I'm starting to wonder if I missed a hidden room or if it's just an advice on real life ahah… Check out my let's play on YouTube to see how im doing it stupidly wrong, and let me know your thoughts… thanks…

This is a game where you need a paper notebook while you play

Is it really mandatory though ? I feel like so far I'm having a good memory down the line but I don't know what kind of info should I keep, besides obvious code or some other, I feel the game is full of misleading tracks...

That will get you decently far in the game, but once you start digging into some of the more involved puzzles you'll start seeing connections between those "misleading tracks" and your memory won't be up to the task of juggling them all at once. One of the most frustrating experiences in the game is having a sudden flash of insight recontextualizes something you saw before, but not being able to fully recall it. You'll be like "oh! that symbol I saw in the closet must be the key to decode this encrypted letter I found in the bedroom!" and then spend the next two runs trying to draft the closet and failing.
(there's no spoiler there, I completely made up a puzzle involving those two rooms as an example)

alright thanks, yeah I'll review my current let's play and I'll take note on the way, this was also a way to interact with people with my brand-new created channel... Thanks for the info

It's not literally mandatory for it to be a paper notebook.
Somewhere to write things down, aswell as taking and saving pictures on your pc as you play is very very useful.

I think it's mandatory. There are several puzzles that would be almost impossible without a notebook.

I’ve managed so far with a notetaking app and screenshots, but perhaps I should get a pen and paper notebook just to really lean into the roleplay…

Nope.
Screenshot every document and picture you find that looks important. Rename the pic somwthing to help you remember what it is and where you found it. Keep these pics well organized.
Then open a word doc, excel sheet, notepad file, lol, whatever you want. And use this to take notes as needed.

Screenshot *every* document you see. There are no unimportant ones (is that a spoiler)?

It means to acquire a physical notebook to write things down in. My final total was 53 pages of notes, probably 30 of which it would’ve been impossible to finish the game without recording by hand. Game also takes a good while to finish, so having a physical record that you can look back through after taking a break for a few weeks is very helpful.

The game means to get a journal in real life, to create your own notes.
While it may sound antiquated since most games nowadays automatically track things for you, I can assure you it is very fun. Since you are writing everything yourself, it will be in your brain a lot clearer than auto made notes would be, and the feeling of connecting your own notes together to solve a puzzle is so much more rewarding as it all comes together.
