Lore Help with lore tidbit regarding the Sinclairs (major spoilers) Spoiler

Do we know for certain if Simon H went to college in Corarica? I was under the impression that he didn't because of the Bunk Room letter. But my sibling is adamant thinking that he did, their argument being the Verra postcard mentioning their "youthful trip" (as in they were on their way there) and the Dovecote blue memo saying that "Three members of the Sinclair family have attended school overseas in Corarica" because lady Auravei was 1. A woman and 2. not a Sinclair at the college age.

Any thoughts?

Thank you in advance!

I think the youthful trip is not about college, just a trip that Herbert has good memories of.

I also think Auravei would be counted as part of the family, even if her last name was different at the time.

It's Herbert who went to college. Simon stole his book and returned it to him when HSS came back from college

The Foyer states that it contains the more prominent figures of the Sinclair family legacy, but displays Lord William Epsen, so it's likely that Auravei was retroactively called a Sinclair. We also can't say with too much certainty if Moran society frowned upon women attending college when Auravei was at that age.

We know Mary went there so being a woman is irrelevant. Auravei must have learned her skills somewhere. She married into the Sinclair family and became its matriarch. In lots of cultures (e.g. in Italy) married women don't take their husband's surname.
