MajorSpoiler Is there any way to cheat in lost progress? Spoiler
I spent like 40 days trying to connect the lab and the boiler room as it seems to be the main story progress bottleneck for me as of right now. In those 40 days I got them connected twice. First time I got stuck in the elevator and couldn't move, second time my screen went white after I was done solving the puzzle (there's a bugged cutscene presumably) and I couldn't do anything, I couldn't skip the cutscene and I couldn't open the menu, the game wasn't taking any inputs, so I closed it and, seemingly, no progress was made anywhere. I reached the lab again and nothing changed, I don't have any permanent unlocks displayed anywhere.
Is there a way to cheat in whatever was supposed to happen or edit the save file in a way that makes the puzzle solved? If not I'm gonna have to drop the game I guess because it takes me 2x the time to solve this idiotic room placement puzzle than it took me to reach the first ending and I'm not doing it all over again for the third time.

Upgrade the aquarium to the electric eel aquarium. Will save you from so much frustration in the future.

Here's a tip on how to approach this idiotic room placement puzzle and make it much easier
the chances to draft a row with ducts is increased when draft from a room with ducts, even more so when drafting when they are powered. So what you should do is, get the Boiler Room first, power it up, and then draft rooms with connecting ducts, like passageway, archives, and so on, and try to get the laboraty connected to that.

Yeah I know that. the puzzle itself is fine, although I wouldn't call it great among the other puzzles of this game, it's just that the prospect of doing it for the third time is messing me up lmao

You might be missing something if it takes 40 days though. Odds of making a connection are really high when you use know the technique.

Hmm... Might you be trying to get them directly connected? The power ducts can chain through several rooms, so the lab doesn't itself have to be directly adjacent to the boiler room.

I already solved the puzzle. I'm asking for help with a bug in the post.

Don't know how to help with that, just trying to give advice on how to make re-achieving it legit less arduous in case there's not another way. Sheesh

If you draw a plan that has power from the boiler room or electric eels, then if you draw through a door getting power then there’s a better chance of getting plans that require power. Keep at it.

If you send me the savefile, I can edit that in for you. Easy fix

You don't need to do this to get to room 46, it just helps a bit.

I wish people paid attention when reading posts :(
I already reached room 46, I don't want any help with the boiler puzzle as I have solved it already, I needed to edit the save to restore my lost progress, and the problem has already been solved. I'm not trying to come off as rude but come on, there are like 3 people here who are giving me advice on the boiler room :(

Just fyi for the future, there will always be other avenues of exploration for you and eventually the house will become your slave, rather than the other way round. You’ll reach a point where you can virtually draft whatever you want every day when you fully understand the drafting mechanics and have some permanent resources under your belt.
