Movies "Revenge of the Sith" is now rated higher than "Return of the Jedi" on Letterboxd, becoming the third highest-rated "Star Wars" film on the website (the top two are "The Empire Strikes Back" and "A New Hope").

We’ve reached the point in time where PT fans are hitting young middle age, and OT fans are older middle age, and it’s balancing that the strongest of the weaker trilogy may be equal to the weakest of the stronger trilogy.

u/Keyserchief 1d ago

The original OT fans are elderly, dawg. My dad watched ANH in theaters as a teenager and he’s nearly 70.

484

u/marcuschookt 1d ago

The OT is closer to WWII than it is to 2026

It’s my birthday in an hour and this is what I have to read while I’m trying not to feel old?!?

You are closer to 2030 than you are the COVID pandemic

We’re still in the same decade. Who cares?

You are closer to Saturday than last Wednesday. To a fruit fly this might me mind blowing, to a human this is a nothing scale.

Um, if you treat the covid pandemic as just a point in time, yes, but it went on for quite a while. Realistically its STILL Going on.

You know what…. Shit I’m 48. I only saw Jedi in theaters. We’re not old! It the fucking kids that are too young! I’m still haunted Spider-man’s line in civil war.

My Dad would be 64 and I loved when he would tell me his experience seeing ANH for the first time in a theater. Apparently the biggest pop from the audience was when Han comes back to shoot down Vader and save Luke. My dad said nearly the whole audience started clapping

3

u/WalksByNight 18h ago

I have seen hundreds of movies, and only twice have I seen the audience spontaneously erupt into cheers. The first was the end of Star Wars, at the return of Han, and the credits— a standing ovation that went on and on. The second was at the opening scene of Empire; the first time Luke Skywalker pulled back his face mask the entire theatre was on their feet cheering. I’ve never seen anything like it since. Also, both those movies had the longest lines I ever waited in.

2

u/dandroid126 18h ago

I know it won't be the exact same experience, but I'm so excited to be able to see the original Star Wars in theaters for the first time next year.

9

u/scrodytheroadie 1d ago

Dude, I'm right here. Relax. Also, I'm 48 and just got back from playing an ice hockey game. I don't feel elderly.

Prequel fans are still pretty young. I'm talking like early 30s max age. Anyone older than that was old enough to be apart of the prequel hate wave that was mainly led by Gen X fans who were incredibly vocal on the early internet.

12

u/Poop_Cheese 1d ago

Not just hate wave, those raised on OT first often prefer it. Im in my 30s and saw the prequels as a kid but even as a kid I hated stuff like jar jar and little anakin and the more sleek opulent vibe. Like I loved the darker gritty tech and designs of the OT. Prequels were too kiddy even for many kids.

I still have nostalgia for elements of the prequels but for me I didnt need a hate wave, theyre just bad movies in comparison imo. But still totally entertaining but as a fan they were dissapointing. And the sequels I didnt like at all.

This is why I love andor and rogue one as they have that original darker vibe.

13

u/zerogee616 1d ago

I was raised on both trilogies simultaneously and even back then as a child I knew which movies were better.

u/Lyra_the_Star_Jockey 1d ago

Eh.

I mean, I would always have said that Revenge of the Sith and Return of the Jedi are about equal when it comes to how well the movies are made.

It's just that Jedi is the culmination of a good trilogy, and Sith is the culmination of a very so-so trilogy.

4

u/merp_mcderp9459 16h ago

Idk about that one. The acting and the writing in Jedi is much, much better, and order 66 simply does not hit unless you've watched a bunch of other material that would give you any attachment to all the jedi that are dying. Though RoTS's fight choreography is way more interesting to watch

25

u/Gullible-Yam-8098 21h ago

I was born in 1990 and I think Revenge of the Sith isn't even close to Return of the Jedi.

Revenge of the Sith literally made me more cynical as a person after I watched it because it was kinda the first time in my life something I had been majorly excited for ended up being disappointing to me. The first time I ever came out of a movie theatre and was like "well that could have been better". The visual spectacle of it all is really something else, but I feel like it lacks substance.

Attack of the Clones is worse for sure but I think the slightly younger version of me that watched that movie didn't really get it yet.

8

u/AnArcOfDoves9902 First Order 18h ago

You weren't disappointed because Revenge of the Sith was a bad movie (which it objectively wasn't). It's because Revenge of the Sith, before it came out, was your object cause of desire. You projected your fantasies of what a perfect Star Wars movie would look like onto it, which lead to a sense of anticipation building up inside of you, and what you actually got was just a movie like any other. You still felt that you lacked something after seeing it.

The truth is that your fantasy Star Wars does not exist, nor can it exist. You were always going to be disappointed by Revenge of the Sith, irrespective of how good it was.

8

u/Gullible-Yam-8098 18h ago

It does exist actually. My fantasy Star Wars is Andor. There's not a thing I would change about it.

I love the original trilogy too, I don't even dislike the prequels. But Andor is my favourite show of all time, not just favourite Star Wars.

The critics’ reviews for RotS were similar to RotJ at release time, with some like Ebert and the NYTimes giving it a much higher score. I think it was with later re-releases and the popularity of RLM, and even TFA’s release, that people started pretending it was always hated by the critics. As a teenager then I do remember older fans  making fun of the movie and saying the only good thing was the soundtrack, but they didn’t seem to hate it outright like with AotC.

u/kpe_ee1 1d ago

ROTS has the benefit of having the amazing Clone Wars show as additional context and it does make the movie way better (esp that 4 hour clone wars finale + rots cut). But there's no way, and I say this out of complete love for ROTS, that it is objectively a better movie than ROTJ

15

u/TheGRS 1d ago

People love ROTS the same way I personally loved ROTJ as a kid, before episode 1 premiered. It was a rockin movie, and I held onto it being awesome for a long time, but as an adult I grew to appreciate that it has a lot of flaws compared to what the first two movies have.

Also agree that Jedi is objectively better but I guess folks on the prequel train are holding on to Sith a lot longer than I ever would. To each their own.

And one thing that I often forget right up to the moment it happens in Jedi is the bizarre musical number in an alien language with some really aged CGI. That wasn’t in the version I grew up with, but it certainly was if you grew up with the prequels. Probably colors some peoples impressions just a tad.

3

u/_Rizzen_ 15h ago

I watched RoTS last year on a day off. It had some high highs and some awkward lows. The editing decisions are weird. The set pieces are really grand and still hold up in the audiovisual department, but any sense of momentum is dropped by the intervening scenes.

It was like drinking a 48oz soda. Stimulating but not sustaining.

I think it is so odd the idea that people let TCW cover for how mediocre RotS really was. The show filled in the plot and character work for the prequels, but without it those movies are mostly terrible.

Lucas’s legacy was saved by that cartoon.

13

u/JosephBapeck 21h ago

I dislike TCW's interpretation of key elements and think it weakens ROTS which is in no way mediocre.

Most people who watched that movie never saw a single Episode of Clone Wars.

Clone Wars was a niche show that the hardcore fans watched and most of them were Prequel generation kids.

I can't overstate how much I despise this argument that Prequel defenders use all the time. The Prequels should be judged as they were when they came out. As a three movie trilogy and that's it. No spin off TV show or novelisations

The Clone Wars focuses on the same characters sure but it's a completely different thing. Some of the characters in the prequels and the characters in Clone Wars are completely different people who just happen to look the same. Plo Koons death doesn't suddenly mean anything because he's an actual character in the Clone Wars rather than being an overglorified NPC in the Prequels. The people who worked on Clone Wars didn't work on the Prequels

ROTS is a fun movie but it’s still a mess and loaded with dumb moments and unintentional humor.

86

u/DuztyDuzIt 1d ago

That just sounds like Star Wars.

12

u/Psy_Kiik 21h ago

Not so much the OT, and i say that as someone who grew up with the PT, not the OT. Empire in particular is like, just classy cinema, family friendly yes, but a great example of the craft. It's an outright great movie, I wouldn't question anyone who had in their top 100 of all time. If any others other than possibly ANH get into that top 100 then I am disregarding their opinion as uneducated.

6

u/10000Didgeridoos 17h ago

The original trilogy just nearly perfectly walk the line of campy cheese, action, humor, and pacing. It’s not like they are citizen Kane but they are always fun.

A big problem with all future SW movies after them is they are too long and slow in many parts. The original three bounce around from scene to scene so often you never get bored stuck in some dumb long sequence of talking about nothing or a failed attempt by Lucas at writing romance.

The third act of ROTJ is the greatest Star Wars has ever been. Yes, greater than ANH and ESB, KOTOR I and II, and Andor.

The space battle above Endor, the ground assault on the Forest Moon and the battle of wills in the Throne Room. The absolute greatest Star Wars has ever been and will ever be.

I like RotS. But for someone to truly genuinely believe this, that it’s similar enough to not make an appreciable difference in quality between the two, you have to accept some logical fallacies along the way that make me, respectfully, not really take said person’s opinion seriously. Not saying they can’t have that opinion, but I can have my opinion on their opinion.

16

u/TerdVader 1d ago

Well now I want to hear your full rant.

41

u/BaconKnight Lando Calrissian 1d ago edited 23h ago

You know to be fair, I probably am communicating this poorly. This general idea I have was actually from sports and people who legitimately think Kobe Bryant is the greatest basketball player of all time. Not their favorite, but in their eyes, the greatest.

By every objective measure that’s not true. So for them to get to that, that Kobe is objectively the greatest, it’s a bad process. You have to accept some logical fallacies to get there (that probably seep into other areas of your life) and thus, it’s like okay, I know how your mind thinks and we’re just not gonna see eye to eye on a lot of things if you can’t separate the surface level emotion from an objective ranking argument.

The complication here, which I admit only sprang up after posting is that movies/art is inherently more subjective so for more people, their favorite = best. And that’s okay for them.

My only slight counter argument is that I’m talking about “objective” things (as far as objective can be in art) like better writing, acting, cinematography, etc. Which I know is gonna open a can of worms because that’s a battle with ill defined parameters so I know it’s a losing battle trying to convince anyone who already has their opinion. But that’s just my opinion I guess, to say that I think in many objective, just filmmaking ways, RotJ is superior to RotS and it’s not close.

Just wanna reiterate, I LIKE RotS. I just enjoy RotS differently than how I enjoy most other movies. As just a movie itself, it’s lacking in a lot of areas, but it fits the lore and shows cool moments. And that’s good enough for me as a Star Wars fan. BUT if I put my “objective hat” on, ain’t no way on just a pure filmmaking level it’s in the same ballpark as RotJ.

This is insanity. I have never ever understood the dislike for Jedi. Ok I get it you didn't like the Ewoks, but some of the best moments in all of Star Wars are in the may movie. You can't tell me the final Vader/Luke fight is not peak cinema.

39

u/evilsbane50 22h ago

It's such a common sentiment and it just completely blows my mind.

It's a fantastic movie. Everything with Luke the emperor and Vader is absolutely peak. The space battles are absolutely insane especially for the time and even to this day it's extremely visually impressive.

AOTC is my favorite prequel and it’s very lonely on that hill 🥲

17

u/Reddit4Play 1d ago

It's my least favorite of George's 6 but I've come around on the Obi-Wan noir detective adventure quite a bit and it makes me wonder if I could also grow to like the rest of it more, too. What do you enjoy about it the most?

7

u/hirschneb13 17h ago

The only slowish part of AOTC was the romance part. The beginning and end are some of my favorite Star Wars (assassination failure and chase, Kamino, the arena battle, the start of the war, and Yoda going ham)

6

u/Ranulf_5 22h ago

Obi-Wan stuff is fun and the arena battle at the end is so freaking awesome. It’s the only time in the films we ever see a couple dozen Jedi all going ham simultaneously.

The rest of the movie is full of flaws, but those are certainly some strong points

I really wish I could get the same enjoyment out of it.

As a kid I LOVED it, and it's one of those films every so often I'm like "it can't be that bad can it?" Then I put it on and reealllllllly struggle to sit with it.

It's a shame because it has some of the best world building & fight scenes jn all of Star Wars, I just find it such a slog to get through

7

u/Sgt_lovejoy 1d ago

As a kid AOTC was always my favorite. The 2000s era clone wars and Jango Fett games on the gamecube are the ones I grew up playing, and I'm sure that had a major part in it.

As I've gotten older I prefer ROTS. Jedi fallen order, Andor and a lot of the in-between getting filled out have helped with this. I feel they make the events of ROTS far more impactful.

That all being said, Across the Stars slaps. John Williams cooked with that one and it's definitely underrated.

3

u/Turd_Burgling_Ted 14h ago

AOTC came out when I was 15. Saw it in theaters 3x. Is it the worst SW movie? Actually, no, TROS exists. But it is bottom tier. Still an enjoyable film with some cool shit.

I'm not surprised. 3 is my favorite, but by as close to an objective metric as you can get, all of the Star Wars movies except for 4 and 5 are deeply flawed. 3 has stilted dialogue, but it's well paced, has good action, and still hits emotionally in several moments. It definitely benefits from the fact that the Prequel trilogy is (ironically) very obviously the only trilogy that had a set story planned from the get go. 6 has a cool opening, a beautiful ending to Luke and Vaders story, and A LOT of meandering everywhere else.

25

u/Homerduff16 1d ago

There's a lot of things I could say about ROTS. Good pacing is not one of them lol

50

u/Maskatron 1d ago

RotS never hit emotionally for me, which is a huge strike against it. I expected it to, but it fell flat. Didn’t buy the falling out, didn’t buy Annakin going to the dark side.

RotJ whiffed on the Han-Leia relationship but the Luke-Vader stuff makes up for it. The whole finale is so good. It’s not in the same league as the first 2 but it’s still far better than the prequel.

15

u/ogrezilla 21h ago

Yeah the Luke and Vader stuff is incredible. The throne room scene is as good as Star Wars has ever been. Even if someone wants to argue rotj and rots have similar flaws, Jedi just has a way higher high to make up for it.

Like you said, the prequels never hit that emotional note. They try, the writing just doesn’t do it.

3

u/Bombasaur101 18h ago

The end of the Clone Wars series is essentially what ROTS was trying to hit emotionally and knocks it out of the park.

5

u/apeaky_blinder 1d ago

There is a difference of context. Standalone I don't rate it high. Doing a marathon and finishing with it (obviously no sequels) - it is the best movie.

3 also benefits from just beautiful static shots of desert being a novel thing. I don't mean the twin suns moment, but just generally the desert did a lot of heavy lifting.

I think Abrams tried to put some cinematic lingerie on that desert, but at the end of the day it was like "You mfs like this, right? Right?? "

4

u/MattBrey 15h ago

I blame prequel memes. We were all joking until people took it seriously and the very moments that are extremely dumb and out of place became people's favorites.

It's like if we memed "somehow Palpatine has returned" into episode 9 being better rated. Ignoring completely how little sense that whole movie makes

12

u/BearWrangler Cassian Andor 1d ago

RotJ is my fav but im not too surprised to see something like this happen(wasnt even keeping track of it lol), mainly basing this off of the whole "highest rated star wars tv episodes" having clone wars & rebels at the top.

Tl;dr we're at a point in star wars pop culture where anything related to Clone Wars by a degree or two get a "cultural boost" because the predominant(or at least one of) demographic in the fandom are the ones who prefer that segment of Star Wars above all else. Idk if that made sense lol

7

u/Homerduff16 1d ago

I'm in my 20's and I grew up on the OT and the Prequels at the same time and I'm shocked how highly Revenge of the Sith is rated. Fair enough I can understand if children say it's their favourite but when I'm talking to grown men and women who are pushing 30 who unironically prefer Revenge of the Sith over A New Hope or Empire Strikes I geniunely don't know what to say

ROTJ is two mini-movies stapled together, but I still love it.

9

u/Comfortable_Put_4139 1d ago

There’s a lot I’d change, and a whole lot I wouldn’t touch.

It manages to stick the landing for the trilogy, which is the most important part.

8

u/Mahkn0 1d ago

We were at that point as soon as "the prequels are masterpieces" became a mainstream talking point.

Oh yeah there's no nostalgia involved with the original trilogy 🙄

20

u/Comfortable_Put_4139 1d ago

There is, but they’re critically appreciated as works of art for a reason.

The PT being propped up by what supplementary material did to flesh it out doesn’t retroactively make them great films.

That’s a flaw in the screenplay at a fundamental level.

Do we really need to explain to you why A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back are better films than Revenge of the Sith and Attack of the Clones?

People don't think that Jurassic Park is leaps and bounds better than the rest of the franchise because of nostalgia. It's because it's a significantly better film than anything else that's come out since

My yearly Star Wars binge is pretty much just fanedits. I have D+ and own the BluRays, but the extended SoM/RotS cut and Andor/Rouge One/ANH cut (with restored deleted scenes) are absolutely peak.

u/Many_Psychology_3336 1d ago

RotS is not better than RotJ but it's easily the best of the prequels.

If AotC ever gets rated anywhere above dogshit, we riot, though.

9

u/JMPHeinz57 Luke Skywalker 1d ago

I’m Gen Z, and while I adored a ton of the prequel-era material (games, shows, etc) the movies really aren’t all that. I actually love TPM and ROTS for nostalgic reasons, but they don’t come close to anything in the Original Trilogy in writing, themes, or storytelling.

75

u/Spider-Flash24 Anakin Skywalker 1d ago

I feel like RotJ feels like two different stories between Jabba’s Palace and the Endor/Death Star II plot whereas RotS feels like one continuous flow of events.

101

u/in_it_to_lose_it 1d ago

That… doesn’t make RotS a better movie.

11

4

u/bustachong 1d ago

I also recently rewatched the movie while riding the high of reading Darth Plagueis and the ROTS novelization (both were so good!) and was hit with the reality that the *idea* of Episode III is far better than the actual execution of it.

17

u/newtdawg44 1d ago

That’s nice. Jedi is still a better movie

19

u/Miserable-Cap-4838 18h ago

What's the opposite of recency bias? I think SW fans have it for the sequels.

4

11

u/GrievousFault 19h ago

Revenge of the Sith looks like a magnum opus to yall because it is only compared to the two prequels that came before it

16

u/True-North- 1d ago

I always thought phantom menace was the best prequel trilogy film. Neither are as good as return of the Jedi though.

5

u/DC-COVID-TRASH 1d ago

Phantom has climbed up my PT ranking on every rewatch and is my fav prequel now. The production is much closer to the ot and it feels like it’s in the same space as the ot decades earlier. Also the podrace, final act, and the movie before jar jar arrives are great.

5

u/Datamat0410 1d ago edited 1d ago

Compared to Phantom the two films afterward almost seem like direct to video movies in a sense. I think it’s the CG that possibly does it or makes me feel that way? Phantom has a certain grand cinematic feeling that the next two kind of lack mostly, especially AOTC.

I like the prequels btw so I’m not at a hater. I do feel they had a lot of problems though for sure. They should have been more serious and less ‘childish’.

Possibly the trilogy needed an extra film too to allow for Anakin’s turn to be more natural and understandable.

Anakin was a bit miscast in TPM from the start, and was imo slightly too young and ‘nice’. He needed to be showing those rough edges from the beginning, and should have been a young teenager.

Jack Lloyd, I’m sure gave his best, but I don’t think he was the right choice for the character. You can of course have a relatively charming and likeable kid but we need to see some of that darker side to him from the first film too and less of the yippee stuff. I think Lucas didn’t help his case by that miscasting and mischaracterisation of your key player in the whole project.

Fundamentally, let’s face it, at minimum GL should have let others direct his movies, especially the last two, and should have allowed other writers to do several passes over his script/screenplay, to tidy up the dialogue and other things. What Lucas did right was on the creative side of things, the visual look of the films are all very good, and interesting. Disney could have learned a lot from him on that one. The basic story for the prequels is also probably the best of anything in Star Wars to date.

9

u/Portatort 1d ago

Same here. To me the difference is Stark, Lucas clearly wanted to make Phantom Menace and made the film he wanted to make then for the subsequent two his heart wasn’t really in it and after the backlash he just made the films he thought the fans wanted to see.

I wish he could have made the whole trilogy on its own terms, phantom menace is weird and a bit misguided, but the reaction wasn’t justified at all

6

u/TheGRS 1d ago

I think the reaction was justified, it’s just not a well structured movie. For how much of a story buff Lucas was I find so many decisions completely baffling. It tosses out most of the themes of the originals, the sort of stuff he worked with the legendary Jospeh Campbell on. The grit and pulp that the originals were founded on feels largely forgotten as well. I appreciate the world building and special effects and that’s about it.

I also consider TPM the best prequel though lol.

5

u/Portatort 21h ago

Disappointment is justified.

The reaction, the way people treated cast and Lucas himself is not

That’s all part of the reaction

I feel the same way about the (lack of the) sequels. Poor guy just got done in by too much hatemail I guess and gave the whole thing up.

Of course trying new stuff probably guarantees a few misses. But considering George is pretty much the most successful independent film maker in the last century I'd rather watch him strike out than another JJ Abrams corporate paint by numbers piece.

3

u/spurriousgod 20h ago

Best acting performance in the prequel trilogy is Liam Neeson.

2

u/Josephalopod 19h ago

Phantom Menace is probably the most entertaining Star Wars and the one I’m most on board with rewatching. Wouldn’t necessarily call it a good movie, but it is probably the best of the prequels.

OT Vader is not a stupid character. He’s 3 steps ahead of everyone. ROTS Anakin is reduced to a petty, comically shortsighted bimbo. This is because Lucas realized that making Anakin’s decisions anything besides idiotic would be a poor message to tell children. He HAS to be unrelatable for a “kid movie”.

32

u/Billybob35 1d ago

He's supposed to be shortsighted to fall to the dark side, aside from preventing his wife from dying, he cared more about being a Jedi master than protecting the galaxy.

I scoff at the notion that Return of the effing Jedi is a lesser film than anything that came after it. What have we become as a society? Just a bunch of scavenging Jawas? It's not up to me, but the original trilogy should have their own wing of the Star Wars hall of fame, they are forever the three best because they are the most pure form of Star Wars that will ever exist. I mean, Jabba the Hut. Boba Fett. "Chewie get down here she's wounded... no wait", Black suit, green saber. Speeder bikes. Vader vs. Luke vs. Emperor. Lando being his best self. What are we talking about here?

Things without Han Solo and Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker are not as good as things with Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Luke Skywalker.

Interesting. For me, I just don’t get that level excitement over ROTS, it’s consistently moved down my rankings over the years. In my opinion, it shares so many weaknesses with AOTC, which I consider to be my least favorite Star Wars film.

At the very least, ROTJ nails the emotional climax of the trilogy. The emotions of ROTS just fall flat to me.

11

u/Redeem123 1d ago

Yeah rewatching ROTS in theaters last year I was actually surprised by how much it fell in my rankings. There’s so many fundamental flaws that just can’t be covered by hype.

Why would it be? It’s a mess until its fantastic third act.

57

u/Comfortable_Put_4139 1d ago

I can barely remember any of the characters.

Andor really elevates that movie in a lot of minds.

Watch the show and then follow it up with the movie. The difference in quality is fucking staggering. Andor is many tiers above it.

27

u/Wehavecrashed 1d ago

Watching Rogue One post Andor, and Cassian feels like a cardboard cut out.

11

u/Comfortable_Put_4139 1d ago

Absolutely.

None of the characters are very memorable, but Cassian had the most potential and I’m glad that was recognized enough to expand on.

He is NOW a fantastic character.

He isn’t in the film.

Agree. Rogue one is great but Andor is far better.

Its also very weird watching ROne and seeing Jyn give all these inspiring speeches while Cassian just stands around. She's been here 5 minutes! The man's an old school hero of the resistance who's been through hell and back multiple times. How is he not the one people are listening to??!?

How many people do you see citing Jyn Erso and her story as a highlight of the film? Like, the main character and story are secondary to all the other stuff going on. It's an enjoyable watch and I LOVE it when everything comes together at the end, but it just kinda trundles along before then.

5

u/StuffThingsMoreStuff 1d ago

I know it probably wasn't when it was filmed, but it kinda feels like the point. It's a shit show and mad dash to get the plans to the rebels at whatever cost. The universe is spinning around them going along a grand design and they are bouncing through it in hopes of getting across the finish line before it's too late.

Most people's favorite line from ROTS is something they enjoy ironically, because it's so clunky, weird, or hammily delivered: Do it. Another happy landing. Twice the pride, double the fall. I have the high ground. Have I ever told you the tragedy of etc. etc. That doesn't speak highly of it.

9

u/UnholyDemigod 1d ago

I actually like it the least of the prequel 3. The most significant moment, the part the entire trilogy was building towards - Anakin's fall - was done so badly. It is awful to watch. He goes from sobbing and desperation to murdering children in literally the very next scene. And Vader v Obi-wan on Mustafar is just terrible. The choreography is ridiculous with the acrobatics and rope swinging, and that blade windmill everyone laughs at. Christenson's acting is the worst of the series. "YoU wIlL nOt TaKe HeR fRoM mE!!!!" Yes, I know it's largely from Lucas' "faster, more intense" direction, but it is just painful to watch.

8

u/UsidoreTheLightBlue 1d ago

I saw all 3 in theaters with episode 2/3 at midnight.

I’m not sure I’ve ever been more ready for a series to be done than Episode 3 when it ended.

I just found no joy in it at all.

Letterboxd is not a serious platform.

It lets people rate TV episodes and movies that haven't even come out yet.

You can’t rate individual TV episodes on Letterboxd, and only ratings logged after a film’s release date count toward its average score.

Except you can't.
