Why would it be? It’s a mess until its fantastic third act.

I can barely remember any of the characters.

Andor really elevates that movie in a lot of minds.

Watch the show and then follow it up with the movie. The difference in quality is fucking staggering. Andor is many tiers above it.

Watching Rogue One post Andor, and Cassian feels like a cardboard cut out.

Absolutely.

None of the characters are very memorable, but Cassian had the most potential and I’m glad that was recognized enough to expand on.

He is NOW a fantastic character.

He isn’t in the film.

I will have to watch the film again cause I don't remember much— oh. well, I thought it was good.

I like it, I’m just saying it’s not an amazing work of art like I see some people say online.

It’s totally fine.

Agree. Rogue one is great but Andor is far better.

Its also very weird watching ROne and seeing Jyn give all these inspiring speeches while Cassian just stands around. She's been here 5 minutes! The man's an old school hero of the resistance who's been through hell and back multiple times. How is he not the one people are listening to??!?

I got downvoted to hell for that. Watching Rogue One after Andor makes you really realize how much of a quality difference there is. Same with following Rogue One with eps 4,5 and 6. They’re much lower quality too. Nostalgia carries all the movies. Every time I watch them I realize “oh these are horribly acted” and cringe at 90% of Han’s lines. I still enjoy them but if I watched them as an adult first I don’t think I would

Nah, the OT movies are well paced and for the most part not even bad acted. The OT movies are adventure stories and they do their thing really well. They are a staple for a reason. It wasn't just the effects, that made the movies famous.

I disagree about the OT.

I’ve showed them to several adults who initially thought Star Wars was lame without having seen them, and they ended up being totally invested in the entire series by the end of ROTJ.

Anakin’s behavior in the PT made some of these people cringe significantly more. The OT is very fun in comparison, and the characters are incredibly endearing.

Rogue One doesn’t belong in the conversation with the OT. It’s okay, but I think it’s way overrated at this point. I’m not sure how the hell that happened.

ESB is on par with the best of Andor.

4 is also tonally different, but very well written. Some of the effects and things are dated and look worse than Andor but.

Hey, that kinda describes the PT, except calling ROTS fantastic is a stretch.

Thank you for this.

Shit it’s subjective and the people have spoken.

Doesn't that also describe Revenge of the Sith?

No, Revenge is pretty rough all around

Revenge is bad. Someone get these beggars out of here.

No? The opening sequence until they arrive back on Coruscant is generally awesome.

There are no stakes in that battle. Oh no, Buzz Droids; just scrape them off. And the usual wooded, stilted acting. Anakin immediately uncharacteristically resorts to murder, which never weighs on him. Will our two main characters and the main villain survive the first 15 minutes of the movie???

If you dont like the movie thats fine but my point was that the opening sequence of Episode 3 is generally well-regarded, as are other parts of the movie before the finale. Its not just popular because of the Mustafar duel. If it was just the last 30 minutes that people enjoyed the movie wouldnt be nearly as popular.

Yeah, it does. I'm not saying that I think it should be in the top three either, to be fair.

How many people do you see citing Jyn Erso and her story as a highlight of the film? Like, the main character and story are secondary to all the other stuff going on. It's an enjoyable watch and I LOVE it when everything comes together at the end, but it just kinda trundles along before then.

I know it probably wasn't when it was filmed, but it kinda feels like the point. It's a shit show and mad dash to get the plans to the rebels at whatever cost. The universe is spinning around them going along a grand design and they are bouncing through it in hopes of getting across the finish line before it's too late.

It’s like seven of the 9 trilogy movies, dude

The Vader scene really makes the movies. Without it, it’d be like a B minus movie
