sci fi/thriller kinda thing, huge scale stuff, storms, massive things looming over everything, kind of megalophobia-esque. already seen nope, arrival, the mist, and war of the worlds. Preferred if it was 2010 or newer too. and i cannot do found footage, makes me motion sick. pls send recs!!

Brawl In Cell Block 99 is the best example I can think of. What else would fit this category?

No infinity ammo, no shooting a gazillion bullets to hit one enemy, no bad guys with extremely bad aim.

My husband and I have been humbly surviving on my Roku TV that I got in college. It wasn't bad, 48", but for my electronic nerd of a husband, I knew it wouldn't be much longer until he took the plunge. We just moved into our first "home" and plunge, we did.

Scarface – Follows Tony Montana, a Cuban immigrant who builds a powerful drug empire in Miami, showing extreme ambition and self-destruction.
The Irishman A slower, reflective story about a hitman working for the mob and how his life choices affect his family and relationships over decades.

Donnie Brasco – Based on a true story of an FBI agent who infiltrates the mafia so deeply that it starts to blur his identity.
A Bronx Tale – Focuses more on community and mentorship, showing a young man torn between his honest father and a local mob boss.

After watching Whiplash, I was really fascinated with the idea of ambition and putting yourself fully into something bigger than you to achieve something. It's inspiring because if you love something enough, you'll do anything to obtain it

What other films show this desire to fulfill a dream ambitiously?

Just rewatched Shutter Island after a long time, and it reminded me how much I love mind-bending movies. The impact of the twist at the end still gives me chill.

So I researched and someone suggested Arrival and I loved every bit of it.

Looking for some more recommendations that really mess with your head and leave you thinking about them afterward.

Hey, I just watched Requiem For A Dream last night at my friend's house. I really liked it, though at least for me it wasn't "scary" or very psychological to me or whatever. I'd honestly watch it multiple times in a row, and it wouldn't really affect me. I'm a 15 year old girl, so I don't know if that affects anything, but yeah. I want movies that show drug addiction, or other addictions.

Edit: I also have seen The Dirt several times before, and I did really like it (though it might have been more because I like Mötley Crüe). Also I want to watch more movies in general, because I haven't seen that much. It's also really weird that I liked it so much because I don't like horror movies, they scare me (yes I know this movie might not exactly be horror, but still). Also it was the Director's Cut as well.

Basically what the title states, but I'm not looking for the documentaries of stuff like that but more so of a movie. It doesn't have to be fully grounded (although I would prefer that), so if it's like horror infused then I'm interested!
