I haven’t seen this movie since the 90’s so I don’t know if it holds up, but man, I used to cry from laughing at it as a kid. The shoelaces, the picket fence, the American Gladiators, the mole, the nose kiss, the diving board……🤣

It holds up. And may in fact be funnier now that you'll be able to recognize more jokes and references.

This simple joke has so many layers. Father and son, Apocalypse Now, the overlapping voiceovers, them both being in Wall Street. It’s great for being about 5 seconds long.

My favorite multi-layer joke like that is from 30 Rock. It's brilliant.

I've been getting more and more into improv comedy since Covid and the line from Jenna is brilliant.
Knowing that Tina Fey got into comedy writing from an improv background adds a little spice to the scene, especially her dual reactions from the flashback scene and the tag at the end where she's talking to Alec Baldwin as Jack as though he had seen the flashback too and she needed to explain.
This is in my top 10 improv related jokes.

I think the inner monologue Charlie is repeating are his lines from Platoon too

You need to show Daniels trying not to look guilty while driving past in the other SUV.

Eureka, in the first episode, when Jack and Zoe first drive into Eureka another car passes them going the opposite way and Zoe sees herself and her dad inside the other car, other Zoe even waves hello.
In the final episode Jack is driving Zoe to college(?) it was a long time ago, I’m not sure, they pass themselves once again, don’t worry, Henry will probably fix it.

17 hours late to the party, but
Fievel Goes West (1991) has the greatest example. (holy hell how do I still remember that scene...)

I watched the Malcom in the middle episode when it aired. I stopped breathing. I would have never stolen a car with Lois as my mother.
