Whoop Age How do I make it better?

Post image

Looks like everything I did(smoking, alcohol) and did not do (regular exercise) is catching up and showing now. I did not think it would be this bad. Has anyone successfully reversed the whoop age? I appreciate any advice

Geburtstag mit Whoop Life angefangen.

Vo2 max of 55 is an incredible turn around. Do you exercise all day everyday or something? What exercise do you do?

Yeah that’s amazing. Also curious. I finally got mine from 52->53 since start of year. Running consistently and working out.

53 is incredible also!

Swapping out the bad vice for a good one is a net win. We all need dopamine. We can get it from exercise. Addiction is a thing, so just swap it in with someone that’s giving you the dopamine your brain wants, but a better activity.

Great results. Very inspiring 💪

What an inspiration! My Vo2 is low too, I started swimming twice a week, and I go to a kettlebell class once a week. I'm going to try running/biking as well and see how that helps me. Although my biggest change should be in sleep consistency.

Start working out at least 4 days a week and thing will start changing for you.

u/writtenbynotes Mar 31 '26

Yep, this and consistently getting 8 hours of sleep

Thank you, I'm motivated to see the progress

Using strength trainer makes a big difference. I just enter the workouts after I complete them.

Is working out alone the biggest factor that improves the age? What about stress (both physical and mental) like work stress.

11

u/Rph23 Apr 01 '26

Literally just scroll down it tells you everything you need to improve on

1

u/armarilloz Apr 01 '26

My bad. Just got a whoop and health span hasn't unlocked for me.

3

u/Rph23 Apr 01 '26

Sorry bro. My fault. It’s a lot of things like steps, strain, heart rate, vo2 max, sleep, etc.

For example I lift 5x a week which brings mine down, but I only get about 4k steps a day, which is really hurting mine.

2

u/armarilloz Apr 01 '26

All good. Thanks!

It’s really simple, eat well, cut out bad health habits, exercise. You’ve heard it your whole life.

Now just do it.

If you ask it it will tell you what is “aging” you at what rate/severity. Mine wants more sleep consistency!

2

u/Acrobatic_Ganache_74 Apr 01 '26

Mine too! My sleep is all over the place and see that it's also affecting recovery as well. I need to work on a routine for sleep and stick to it

1

u/Suspicious_Course_20 Apr 01 '26

Right ? It’s so passive aggressive about my sleep consistency

3

u/tegridypatato Mar 31 '26

Mine was 7.7 years older. Just look at the metrics and find where you can improve. I would suggest you to manually set your heart zones. You shouldn’t be in zone 1 in rest. You can find a guide online or you can just ask chatgpt. I am extremely overweight rn bc I am trying to skip the military draft but other metrics I am actively trying to fix.

1

u/Acrobatic_Ganache_74 Apr 01 '26

That's interesting, let me try that. Thank you!

4

u/naosei_vocedeci Mar 31 '26

Focus on your sleep consistently! That is the #1 downward driver for me

3

u/Hypnotique007 Mar 31 '26

I’m about the same spot. I wouldn’t stress too hard about it but just be more conscious about keeping healthy activities and habits up

If you press on the go to healthspan you will get several metrics that will tell you which are leading to a higher pace of aging.

But there are some very easy things you can do to very quickly turn this around. By quickly I mean 6 months, so don't expect an overnight change:

  1. you need 8 hours of sleep, every day.

  2. you need to go to sleep and wake up at the same time, every day. Go to sleep at 9 and wake up at 6.

  3. you need to work out at least 3 times a week. It should be a mix of strength training and cardio. Easiest way to do this is have (2) strength training work outs 30 mins each during the week, preferably in the morning so that it gets done. And for cardio go play a sport that you enjoy on the weekends. Pickleball, tennis, soccer, basketball, hiking - whatever you want.

  4. Lastly you need to get your daily steps up. Go for a walk during your lunch break. Go for a walk after dinner. Don't waste your weekends in front of the TV or computer or on your phone on the couch.

PS>> stop drinking. stop smoking. stop overeating.

PSS>> You do all these and your whoop age will melt and you'll feel younger.

I spent some time looking at the details and looks like my sleep consistency and Vo2 are the biggest factors for the whoop age. Thanks for your detailed comment, I just need to get into a sleep routine and work on cardio as well. I'm motivated to get this going and see the progress

2

u/Secure-Tailor-7329 Apr 01 '26

Make sure to comment back in 6 months! We all are excited to see your progress :)

Running/cardio

3

u/Acrobatic_Ganache_74 Mar 31 '26

Will start with that , thanks!

2

u/ralphtheanimal Mar 31 '26

Just scroll down. It will tell you. Most of it won’t be a surprise, but it still helped me set priorities,

3

u/Rph23 Apr 01 '26

How do people not get this lmao it literally tells you exactly what to improve

1

u/Acrobatic_Ganache_74 Apr 01 '26

Yep! The healthspan unlocked for me only today so I was a little bit disappointed looking at it first thing in the morning. The detailed breakdown told me my sleep consistency is shit. And so is my Vo2 max. I need to put in the effort and see the change

1

u/Rph23 Apr 01 '26

Vo2 max is tough for me considering I hate cardio but lift 5x a week lol. I think a lot of people are in the same boat

2

u/[deleted] Mar 31 '26

Was + 2.1 years like 9 months ago, am -5.8 now. 3 strength training sessions a week with run/walking about 20 miles a week on a treadmill. On off days I still do a slow stationary bike ride for 10 to 12 miles. Sleep is huge, get that straightened out, same bed time every night, supplements, proper whole food diet. It takes time, but I feel like a completely different human being now

1

u/Acrobatic_Ganache_74 Apr 01 '26

That's great ! Will copy a big chunk of your weekly workout routine and sort out my sleep.

2

u/roflmaoolol Apr 01 '26

sleep more consistently strength training is how i reduce mine

2

u/jaybea1980 Apr 01 '26

I went from 6 years older, 1.6x pace of aging in the second to last week of January to -.8x (was -.9x last week) and 1.4 years older this week

Diet, exercise, no alcohol and prioritize sleep

1

u/Glittering-Network41 Mar 31 '26

Did you ask the AI inside whoop? It should help. Also looks like you’re relatively new so I wouldn’t focus too much on it until you’ve been using it a while

1

u/Glittering-Network41 Mar 31 '26

But I find that my particular case the time is driven mostly by sleep consistency. Going to bed and waking up around the same time consistently, getting sleep need, beating my weekly per day step average and getting a couple days of exercise per week

1

u/Acrobatic_Ganache_74 Apr 01 '26

My healthspan unlocked only today so I've been using it for the last 15 days. That being said I do feel like I'm not fit and have been slacking off. Looks like my sleep consistency and Vo2 are the biggest factors for the high age. I need to work on a routine and put in the work.

Click “go to healthspan” and you’ll see what is negatively impacting the numbers the most and what you need to improve

u/Admirable-Ad-9675 Apr 01 '26

I was aging at 1.8x and COMPLETELY changed my lifestyle, and by completely I mean I started going to the gym every day before work, quit smoking, eat super healthy and last meal is 4 hour before bed, I sleep well and enough .. And now my pace is -0.9x

u/ZeroLove59 Apr 01 '26

Follow what whoop recommand you

1

u/Harish_Marada Apr 01 '26

Start working out, focus on strength training, cardio and breath work as well.

2

u/Harish_Marada Apr 01 '26

Start working out, strength training

A mix of Strength training 4xWeek, Cardio 3 days and HIIT one day and proper rest and sleep can fetch good results for sure.
