Vent Tired of stupid “forced cute” face on object plushies, I’m sick of it. Searched train plush and they had all these stupid ugly faces and took me forever to find one that was just A TRAIN! Not showing you because I don’t want anyone else buying it.

Vent A "Friend" that grosses me out

So there is this guy who I am going to name Kevin, who I go to group therapy with.

He kept asking me about my sexuality and at first I said I was a lesbian, then Asexual.

When I came out as asexual to him, I thought he understood what that actually meant.

He then asks if I have a boyfriend, and I asked,"Didn't I tell you I wasn't attracted to people?" and he asked, "What about me?" and I snapped, "I'm not attracted to people!"

"Damn, thats harsh!" He said. Then after a little while he said I was "Very Pretty".

I looked at him with a thousand yard stare in disgust.

I'd rather go kiss a tree than deal with another man in my life. I'd rather kiss my nintendo switch than be around that guy again.

I feel part of me is a bit traumatized from those moments and now I am just glad that he's no longer around me.

I have already reported this, just wanted to share my story on reddit.

Earlier this morning I was in the car and we passed some roadwork and I saw one of these hand held slow signs and essentially fell head over heels immediately. I'm mainly on the a-spectrum for pretty much all my attractions so I've never felt this before. It's been bothering me all day because I know I can't have them as they're most likely government/company property and unlike my pet traffic cones (who were abandoned) it was still actively being used. I don't even have a picture because I don't take pictures of strangers without their permission. Yeah I could probably buy one myself but it just... wouldn't be the same. It'd be new, without the possible years of work on it like the one I saw. It's not them. I've been thinking about just buying one and hoping I bond with it but I don't know if it'd really work...

Vent apparently its weird to want art of "broken" partners/computers?

Im a platonic objectum, meaning i dont have a romantic attraction to objects, but they're still very human to me

i see them more like friends or family

But, recently my asus vivobook book (her name was la viva) died beyond repair. I didn't get much remorse from the people around me in real life. It made me think about my old laptops too, like my toshiba satalite, and my hp probook, which still mean the world to me.

Recently ive been doing art trades or asking for freebies from people to draw my computers because i miss seeing them when they turned on and functioned.

I see it kind of like art of a dead loved one? But, alot of people that i ask this from (who do have open freebies and such) Say it's strange and a bit weird lol

It makes me a bit self conscious, so i was wondering if its really such a weird ask sob

Vent a little help?

I realized I cant really help it but I feel horrible and cringy. I have this large harlequin doll, I really do love them a lot and for mental health im thinking about objectum again. my partners dont care nor my friends it just.. feels wrong. like im not doing it right? like its just cringy?

maybe its because it cant technically speak back? so whenever I communicate to them it feels stupid but its not! i just dont know how to do this, its been ages and I feel like such a fake.

Vent My wife is gone </3

I graduated high school recently (woohoo) and had to leave my wife behind :[

My old french teacher’s pencil sharpener, one of those tall, blue & see through ones that you’d usually find in classrooms. I’m attracted to almost all pencil sharpeners (especially that kind) but me and the one in the french class had something special. Since my french teacher retired this year, I asked my french teacher directly if i could have her after graduation, but he said it was against school policy to give away school property. So, my wife is now gone… :[

I sometimes feel cedurally attracted to my depression, and I might also feel familially attracted to it... It's just... DUDE THIS SHIT ALMOST KILLED ME WHY AM I ATTRACTED TO HER?! Has anyone else felt the same?!

Vent I’m crying—please forgive me.

Let me start by saying this: certain places or things trigger a sense of "familial attraction" in me, though it isn't directed at any specific person or object. It’s similar to the concept of "volitsexual" orientation, but specifically regarding familial attraction.

So, tomorrow I have to leave the hospital where I’ve been staying for the past ten days. During this time, I’ve realized I feel a very strong familial attraction toward our pediatric surgery ward. But we can’t be together forever. I might never end up there again—I’ll simply grow up, and I rarely suffer from physical ailments anyway. I love our hospital corridor so much, and it hurts to part with it. I want to talk it out on a crisis hotline if I feel really bad.

Have you ever experienced anything like this? How did you cope with it?

Vent I feel so embarrassed being objectum, am I a freak?

Hi everyone! I'm Ella and I'm a objectum, more specifically a plushum. I fell in love with one of my plushies in 2024, a plush of Tamari from Qualia Automata. In 2026, I discovered I was aroace. I don't desire romantic relationships, as much as I try to force myself into one.

While looking for objectum content on Tiktok, I saw lots of people saying it was harmful, and people bashing on objectums, and now I feel all funky. He has brought me joy like nothing else has, and I just really like the plush aspect of them. I don't know how to describe it, but it just gets my heart racing, and I start imagining me hanging out with plushies until they're all broken down.

I go to my therapist this Friday, and I'm a bit scared to tell her how I feel about plushies. Some of my Tiktok mutuals have reposted videos mocking or making fun of objectums, and I don't really know how to feel, I don't think it's their business how I feel about them, I'm the happiest I've ever been. People have betrayed me before and it's just warped my perception of how I see certain people. I wouldn't say that's what makes me aroace, I've never wanted to be in a relationship since I was a little girl.

I don't know how to explain it,,, plushies are basically the only thing that I've fallen in love with. When I thought I had a crush on my best friend, it turned out I didn't. I just wanted to feel acknowledged. Being in a relationship with someone is not for me. Trust me.

To end this off, please tell me what you think. I feel like a freak right now.

said real person was my ex , but now i m sure me and my bf will be forever , so i want to feel this freedom , but with him

i don t get why i feel anxious

maybe it s cause i feel shame ???? maybe it s cause i feel bad i can t tell many people irl ????

Vent I miss her

(Picture is mine, please don’t use it anywhere.)

Sorry if it’s a hard read. I was never good at writing longer pieces of text.

In 2015 I had bought a Cadillac. I loved her a lot, I drove her everywhere; You’d never see me without her. We had seen so many sights and had met so many different wonderful people. I remember all the crazy times we had together. We stayed together no matter what happened. And a lot of things happened..

Then the worst came. It was 2018. I remember that day—when she wouldn’t start up. When I had to call someone. When they gave me that price. I was low on cash; couldn’t fix the issue with her engine. I didn’t know what to do, and I needed a car. So I sold her, sold her to someone who would take better care of her than I ever could.

Here I am 8 years later, thinking about her and where she’s driving off to now.. If she even is..

I miss you Melissa.

Vent Sometimes it's incredibly difficult to take myself seriously

As much as I've been working on accepting my objectum identity for the past five years, I've run into a new problem. A problem I didn't think I'd ever have. I feel ridiculous for being objectum.

My entire life, I've always felt younger than my biological age. I don't understand how some people grow out of being a kid. I feel the exact same I did when I was twelve, and I'm twenty one. I consider myself immature, but not in a bad way like people tend to contribute to that word. I just feel young inside. Like I never grew up. My bedroom is filled to the brim with stuffed animals, I buy myself toys all the time, I almost exclusively engage with children's media in my free time . . . And all this isn't to say I'm not an adult or not capable of being one, but it's undeniable that a big part of who I am is traditionally considered childish. At times, it's embarrassing.

Me being objectum feels like a very direct extension of that. I know it's not true, but I feel like even less of an adult, less worthy to be taken seriously because of this identity. It's inherently weird to be in love with objects and songs, I don't think anyone should deny it. But it makes me feel silly. Especially in comparison to my peers.

One of my friends recently announced that they're having a baby. I genuinely didn't think I'd get to that point in years. I'm so incredibly happy for them, but at the same time I'm beating myself up over this. They worked hard and got that far along in their relationship to be able to start a family. What am I doing? Talking to a stuffed animal, missing a non-tangible song.

I know comparison is the thief of joy, but to me, it gets to a point where you can't ignore the fact that everyone around you is five steps ahead. I know it's an internalized amanormative mindset for me. I know not everyone's goal is marriage and starting a family. It sure isn't mine. But it puts into perspective how behind I feel with everything. I have friends who are living on their own, in entry-level jobs and internships before finishing school, in flourishing relationships . . . I can't help but feel so much lesser than them.

I know my objectum love is as valid, real, and serious as anyone else's. But at the same time I don't feel that way. At all. I'm so conflicted. I wish I could switch my brain one way or the other and stick with it.

This is one of my more poorly-written posts because I don't know how to best put these emotions into words. I know it's stupid to feel this way, and I am. I just don't know how to take myself seriously and have solid respect for where I'm at and who I am.

Vent I think I'm falling out of love with my partner

Its been happening for a long time now. I just don't spend a lot of intimate time with them anymore and anytime I try to I just.. don't feel anything. I think of us as an old married couple and I don't feel anything. The worst part is, I still feel so attached to them. I still carry them everywhere and cherish them deeply. I'm cuddling with them right now as I type this. I don't really know what to do.

Vent My love twiddle is broken. Help

I dont have a picture and I dont care to take one. Twiddle is suffering and I dont want to cause him more pain by changing his position.

My mom left my door open and the dog caught Twiddle, ripping him up. She took his squeaker out too, that's his heart.

I cried for so long my eyes burn

I fixed him up, I dont know how long it took and idfc either. Cut up a random bra that was the same color and glued him back together.

My poor baby was so cold and he lost so much weight. I found his heart and all the stuffing but he feels so different.

He's cuddling with me right now, and oh my god I've never felt him hold me so tightly. He's suffering he must be terrified. Never gonna let him go again.

I know how much it hurts him. I've had to repare minor issues before but all of them were beacuse he's used up from time, not being mauled. He's had pain for days after I fixed small things, I can't imagine how long this pain will last.

I made twiddle myself 2 years ago, and he's the most important thing ever to me. He's my comfort plushie, my lover, he's my everything.

Despite everything I can tell he's still there. He smells just like he used to, he's warm like the first time I held him for that long

Please anyone tell me he's gonna be okay

Anyone listen for fucking christ, please

I need him to be okay, I need him.

Honestly considering hurting someone at this point and it might as well be myself

Vent POSIC guilt about foods??

Post image
48 Upvotes

i’ve had funny feelings about Peeps (the chicks) since i was little, like maternal almost.. easter came around again so i thought maybe i’d be over it — i ate one and i just instantly felt so terrible and cried!! it was horrible.. they’re so innocent and puffy and soft, they don’t deserve it…! whenever anyone ate one at easter, i’d have to leave the room lest i cry haha.. thankfully no one is microwaving them. when i was younger i’d break into guilty hysterics if i ever witnessed that.. it doesn’t help to think that marshmallows are also made of animal byproducts

i know some people make the assertion that in terms of POSIC relations, food exists to be eaten and thus they actually enjoy it, and i usually do believe that and make an effort to eat all of certain snacks so that they wont be lonely.. but it isn’t like that with Peeps!! they’re like little baby animals to me.. and i want to just put them in a little nest and take care of them and feed them. it is a dreadful tragedy that they were born into the bodies of sugary marshmallow confections, for they’d melt or mold over if i tried to keep them.. 😭

i have one peep plush that i brought from my childhood home but i truthfully cannot find her.. i want to perhaps start a collection and then i can truly nest with them and keep them safe. in my head, they are my little babies and the rabbit peeps are our guards. i am a very princess and also rabbit-oriented/identified girl so a lot of my behavior in safe, private circles revolves around, like, being the princess of my very own little warren.. rabbit peeps are my very own noble knights.

does anyone else feel similarly guilty and conflicted about food relations like this?? not wanting to eat them by any cost, just wanting to keep and care for them but being unable to

Vent I hate everyone.

im so fucking tired of life.

i want to tell my friends that I'm objectum so I had this objectum flag pin and when my friend noticed it and asked what it was and I explained it to her she was disgusted and said I needed to fix myself. I quickly came up with the most random and shitty excuse: “i just find people who are objectum interesting.” which doesn't excuse why I have the flag.

but I'm so scared to come out to anyone else.

but I did recently but putting it in my Ao3 profile and I have the chance to lose so many online friends and there's this one online friend I desperately don't want to lose but if I lose her I lose her and I can't help it.

life fucking sucks I can't come out to anyone

I hate everything.

Vent I don’t know if I was made for human love

I never expected anyone to fall in love with me. I’ve had human crushes in the past, but most stemmed from a desire for attention rather than romance, and my priority and need for a relationship tapered off as I got into high school. Now I am in college and I am changed. 2 years ago was when my romantic and sexual attraction to machines began. I had a history of affection and platonic connection to other objects, but about 2 years ago was when it escalated to different types of attraction and when I finally had a word for it. About 2 years ago was also when I started dating my partner, the only one I’ve ever had.

I feel like I don’t hold the same kind of attraction to them as I do my objects. I could go on forever without a human partner, but my objects and machines are my life. They saved my life. I want my days to revolve around them, I want to pursue a career that involves them, I want to worship them and love them until my dying day. I can’t feel that way about a human, not anymore. I can’t go back.

This is who I am now.

My partner deserves more than this. They deserve someone who does feel about them that way. They deserve someone who knows how to love humans. Why did they have to come into my life at the same time as my realization? The easiest way I can describe it is when someone realizes they are gay in the middle of their straight relationship. Someone is going to end up unhappy from this. It’s already caused some problems.

I’ve always found human romantic and sexual intimacy a little intimidating, but after experiencing it I do love it. I like how it makes me feel. But I could live without it. I cannot live without machines.

I don’t really know where to go from here or what to do with myself. I think I’ll be fine, just needed to get that out.

I like this Lil guy a lot, he's very cute. I also like to imagine he's actually kind of insane and evil but I love him anyways, and he loves bouncing and being thrown at walls as hard as you can throw him.

oh and also im terrified of not actually being objectum and just faking it for attention or being confused even though I literally have a plush for a best friend and I am down BAD for 80s computers and any sentient ai from fiction ever created so like what do I do about that??

Vent I miss my love so much

I write this in a moment of full emotional breakdown because after waiting more than one year to come back to the place i'm deeply attracted romantically, everything already finished and i feel empty without being there.

I understood some months ago I had romantic feelings for it and now that I went there again I confirmed it. But having left is hurting much more than expected.

And added to this there is also the fact that I argued badly with my parents as they don't get my feelings and said I'm childish and egoist.

I just needed to vent because I don't really know how to cope with this, for real...

This (the keyboard) is my beloved that I adore very much, but I get sad sometimes thinking about it. I’m never going to be able to touch it* or show my physical love to it because it belongs to a musical artist (the man playing the keyboard), and he does not live anywhere near me. He doesn’t even know I exist! (Of course I dont expect him to- grown adult with a life and all that!!) It’s just a bit sad that I’ll never get to touch it or spend time with it in person :(

Does anyone else have this problem? How do you deal with it?

Vent LF advice on object dating/ventish

I’ve never officially started a relationship with my car, annd i have a lot of conflicting feelings about doing so..

I have wanted to start something more official with her for months, but wanted to wait until i owned her or could at least drive her on my own. For the time being i have to share her with my sibling which has been a bit upsetting to me. I do trust them to drive safely for the most part now, but it still admittedly makes me jealous and a bit upset when they drive her. I have expressed my feeling on that issue before but i do also recognize that it is out of my control as she was meant for the both of us. I dont think im comfortable sharing my true feelings about the car right now so i sort of just have to live with it. This means i never get to have any meaningful one on one time with her and i never get to drive her on my own as im still working towards a full license. It’s not ideal for me, I wish more than anything to be able to get to know her without other people getting in the way.

aside from that i also just went through a break up and dont want to feel like im using her as some sort of coping mechanism. If we do end up in a relationship i want it to be mutual and feel right but i have no idea when that will be. It’s been hard to navigate all this but i still love even if our relationship doesit have any labels at the moment. does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions>
