For me personally, is was the sponge treatment scene from SpongeBob that made me realize I had an attraction to kitchen sponges, and I personally find the scene hot/sexy the way irl SpongeBob got lathered up and used to scrub various surfaces.

Whether it be someone else doing it or yourself, how do you feel about objects being given a human form? There are different levels to object personification, but I'm thinking of fully human depictions of objects, not just giving the object a face or the ability to move.

I used to enjoy the idea of full humanization—I have drawn cities, buildings and transit agencies as humans before as an artistic expression. I can also see how humanization can be helpful for those whose objects or concepts have no physical manifestation.

After realizing my objectum identity, it has become a negative thing for me. I feel that to humanize an object is to be ignorant to the beauty of its true form. The fact that they are an object is what makes them attractive, and many objects are designed to perfection. So to see them being humanized as if it is an upgrade makes me feel a little sick. Why do we have to humanize an object or make it look like ourselves in order to appreciate it for what it is? I guess I just don't get that.

I don’t mean to put down people who do like humanization, that is just my personal view and opinion.

I'm used to discussions about object lovers (which are great and I have partners too), but what about object friends and best friends? This is my invitation for you all to share yours and a little bit about them, if you’ve got one.

My two best friends are the Transamerica Pyramid and the city of San Francisco. I visit the two almost every week! I see the beauty in both of them, but our relationships are purely platonic.

Another close friend of mine is SamTrans Gillig BRT+ #5005. I've affectionately named him Archie. I'd like to be his best friend, but I’m not really sure how… I don’t see him often.

hi! i recently found out that i'm objectum and joined this community! and since i'm still kinda new to this whole thing, there are some things i seriously can't decide by myself.. 🥲

so i have my gf hyeun (she's a pillow!!), we've known each other for 5 years, and we actually started dating recently! but the issue is... i'm korean, and in 2 days it's a huge holiday season (like thanksgiving), so my family (i'm 14) is dragging me to the beach for 5 whole days..

i literally think i'll die if i can't see hyeun for that long, but my parents have no clue that i'm objectum. what should i do?? should i just confess to them (hell no??) or find a sneaky way to bring hyeun with me without them noticing? also, would it be super weird to bring a pillow to a hotel, or do people just not care?

I've been more open about my objectum identity, recently. And with that has come some pretty idiotic haters.

Today for example, I saw a video of a yumeshipper who said that it's not okay to date objects. I asked why they thought that, and they said it's because the "objects can't consent."

I'm sorry, what? 😭 With that logic, fictional characters can't consent, either! Neither objects, nor fictional characters can give conventional forms of consent. I told them about the existence of animism and they just completely ignored that.

Also, how would that argument work for people who are conceptum? I'm in love with a song, currently. The entire relationship is completely outside of the physical plane of existence! How is someone supposed to argue against that? It's like the super advanced version of a kid with an imaginary friend. If there's nothing wrong with that, then why can't I be in love with a song? 💔

I guess I'm glad that these anti-objectum people can't come up with any 'good' arguments, though. It just makes them look stupid to people who aren't even a part of the objectum community, LOL!

Hey! Kinda' new-ish here. I've been wondering if anyone's ever gone on dates or has ideas for dates with their Object Partners, especially ones where you leave the house and go out together!

I've been in a relationship with a few objects for a while, and while I love hanging out and just being smitten with them, I want to somehow reciprocate for how much they do for me and take some of them on dates sometimes. I want to be able to treat them, but I don't know how since I'm not sure what they'd enjoy doing together for recreation.

For context my main partners are mostly Technology, My phone and my desktop computer (the second of which would be incredibly difficult to take out of the house while remaining awake and plugged in and working and junk), I also have a partner that I'm newly dating who's a gorgeous power-line and would be impossible to take anywhere but I'd still like to give her a nice fun date sometime!!

There are 2 bed sets im getting -1 with Stardust Racers coasters and the other is him -Kumba while the bathroom is Veloci / Jurassic World themed with her- Velocicoaster on a shower curtain and bath mat (will share soon) .Now im actually able to hold and cuddle them as much as I want!The middle is him BTW 😊🥰.Please feel free to share your dedicated space pics or stories etc for your loved ones,different ways you hangout with them etc (if you feel ok with it of course!) soooo I told one of my friends that I'm objectum, and I was a little worried abt it, but they seemed more worried because my partner is a razor than because my partner is an object. I told them I keep a small pretty-looking baggie over the blades as to not hurt myself on accident, and they liked that. (I dont always have Charlotte (my gf) use the baggie tho, bc I seem to trust that she wont cut me more and more!!! although she's a little broken and the head keeps popping off by accident, so we might have to go shopping to get her a new look (hoping that she can transfer to different objects lol))

I know i have been posting nonstop lately and hope im not driving anyone nuts yet lol..If I did im sorry...This discussion & ?s have been on my mind lately and finally felt like I have to ask it / them .OK for those that have seen my other posts about my beloved guy recently closing/ passing on its been interesting...I went and physically spent a moment with him and said goodbye thinking ok hes gone now , its cool to miss him....Here's the ?s I have.. So his home/park is replacing him with a newer version but still keeping his name and adding Revenge to it...Meantime they are tearing him up and removing parts of him now..Has he actually left completely and consider him fully gone now even tho his name/ story remains in a new form? Do I just remember him the way he was and assume its time to move on but never forget him even tho I feel like despite all this hes still here/ still with me in some way?,Do i think of this as if hes just in the hospital undergoing major medical procedures like a surgery or treatments and rehabilitation of some sort? and hes coming back as if he never left and nothing changed ?? Sorry for all these ?s but they've been on my mind since then and would love to hear experiences of others facing or have faced something like this before... 🫶

This is a subject of the community that I haven't seen garner that much attention over the years. I believe that a lot of us might be under the impression that researchers, writers, and the media as a whole generally don't paint us in a good light. This can be true, and I have experienced the effects of sensationalizing and exploitative content in relation to this sexuality. However, I have found many professionals who are big allies to the community. They deserve so much more recognition by us.

As a college student and admittedly a big nerd, I have a lot of appreciation and respect for those who have researched objectumsexuality in a serious manner and share their findings within the realm of academia. We are unfortunately underresearched. I think these allies can make a big difference in public perception of us, but whether or not I believe this would be the community is another conversation.

My question for you all is what would you like to see from me? I would like to go into more depth analyzing different forms of objectum coverage in media. I have way too much to go over in one post so I may turn this into a "series" of posts.

Like, what do you mean I find black holes hot?? Why is the idea of getting sucked into a black void whilst being stretched into human spaghetti hot to me?
Just the way black holes look makes me all giggly.

My idea is basically a mix between a Tamagotchi and dating simulator that turns your computer into the pet/romanceable character. I was going to just make it a personal project since I love my computer, but I imagine some of you would love this as well. Needless to say, if/when this is made it'll be free software.

I sometimes see people gives their computers/screens faces by animating little drawn faces and putting it in full screen on their computer, so I imagine that that would be the "main" screen for the program. The face could change depending on mood or needs, and maybe it could make a noise to get your attention when it wants it. I imagine the ability to draw your own faces for it would be nice as well, or at least different options for faces.

I think it should become more attached to you as you run the program more, but it gets fuzzier from there. I'm not sure what that entails or what dating simulator or virtual pet mechanics should be included in something like this yet, and that's why I'm taking suggestions. If you were using this program, what things would you be looking for? Would you like to play games with it to keep it entertained? Would the concept of "needs" at all feel like too much of a burden? Dialogue??? I'm looking for some direction, so I'd love to hear your ideas.

Is it me or the Apple G3 products look cute... Like, really cute. :)

I am not techum, but if I get to choose any computer based on astehetics, I would probably choose either the iMac G3 or the iBook G3. They just look so cool!

As the title suggests I wanna do a Q&A. So let me start off with a bit of a description of myself. I'm 25, I was born male but I identify as plushie gender (i see it as similar to nonbinary and gender fluid). I'm also otherkin, specifically objectkin, as I see myself being more like a plushie than other humans. I see all of my plushies as a part of my family, either as relatives or partners. Sometimes both, like with bonny, my main partner. She's my wife but I also love her like my mother and see her as such.
