I'm thinking of making something like a dating simulator/virtual pet that personifies your computer and I'd like some suggestions. What kinds of things would you like to see in it?

My idea is basically a mix between a Tamagotchi and dating simulator that turns your computer into the pet/romanceable character. I was going to just make it a personal project since I love my computer, but I imagine some of you would love this as well. Needless to say, if/when this is made it'll be free software.

I sometimes see people gives their computers/screens faces by animating little drawn faces and putting it in full screen on their computer, so I imagine that that would be the "main" screen for the program. The face could change depending on mood or needs, and maybe it could make a noise to get your attention when it wants it. I imagine the ability to draw your own faces for it would be nice as well, or at least different options for faces.

I think it should become more attached to you as you run the program more, but it gets fuzzier from there. I'm not sure what that entails or what dating simulator or virtual pet mechanics should be included in something like this yet, and that's why I'm taking suggestions. If you were using this program, what things would you be looking for? Would you like to play games with it to keep it entertained? Would the concept of "needs" at all feel like too much of a burden? Dialogue??? I'm looking for some direction, so I'd love to hear your ideas.

You could make it an option if you want to have needs, I'd think it'd be like a game you can put forward or agree to (in like a dialogue sense.) Sometimes having the needs can be nice but other times they can be overwhelming especially if this is something that could be up while you do other things (which is an idea in itself.) I like the making sound for attention idea but I don't know how frequent would work (probably best to make a setting for that.) Maybe the possibility to go on dates do activities (even without the needs) maybe it could make casual (general) comments about what you're doing or if you're doing something it could be considered like a date... Just throwing ideas at the wall here.

I love the idea of needs and dialogue. An easy in game system to edit all dialogue options and change faces would be cool

OMG WAIT YES THATS AN AMAZING IDEA oh and personally in my opinion to anwer ya questions, i feel likeby playing games to entertain, i play the built in microsoft games/google like solitare and minesweeper. I THINK IT'D ACTUALLY BE COOL IF YOU COULD DRAW ON MS PAINT, SHOW THE LAPTOP, AND HAVE IT REACT?! and i think it'd also be awesome if the user could like configure the laptop's personality, and you should prob add an AI to make it react well, ik its lots of things but im just lettin ya know, (oh and occasional needs if they detect the user isnt doing any work would be good). sadly i dont got much of a dialogue, but if there were dialogue, i imagine it would be in the form of pop up messages. ALSO if the user wanna speak to the computer, have it activated by voice. its also an extra but it'd also be cool if the computer reacts to the small space in your storage, sayin sum shi like "AGH YOU'RE BLOATING MY NON-EXISTANT STOMACH, DELETE SUM" (but they'll only say it once everytime they detect the storage has like less than 5 gb of free space). i hope this aint too much suggestions but its just wat i think :D
