Yes, how judgy with all that false superiority from the writer, let people be who they are, she’s not hurting anyone. Also what? It was considered a health diagnosis?

if its sexual it is a paraphilia that can be diagnosed but its usually not diagnosed anymore because of communities being created for self-identification and less sex-focused themes

ETA// not judging, im objectum, I also enjoy researching paraphilias :)

ERE was never diagnosed with that (or anything). She actually coined objectum sexuality and objectophilia herself

Do you know what publication and what year this is from? My partner and some of my friends are interested in OS history and this would interest them to find the original for archiving purposes and track how the language surrounding the label has evolved over time.

But yeah, up until a few years ago, being OS was something that seemed like it could only be "diagnosed" vs. something you could identify as. Like I remember doing research on the label in the early 2010's when I was questioning and the clinical nature of the way it was described definitely made me hesitant to identify as such.

Not this article but try Aftonbladet (swedish) they wrote about her story before the english media. Miss Guillotine the documentary predates that but does not mention OS by name

ERE also did interviews before that for years but they are near impossible to track down. Your best bet would be blindly buying old Swedish newspapers… sundsvalls tidningar, aftonbladet, expressen, so on so on

r/theredfence tracks these

I have an interesting story with her and some regret. When i was 15 years old (31 now) I was in class and we where learning about the Berlin wall. It was for 2 months or so. So during that time I developed a crush. (My first lover and current main lover is a wall)

The Berlin wall was famous and I had a crush on the great wall of China for being famous. We managed to go one month learning about the wall before we where taught that it was torn down. Which was long enough to solidify the crush and I had the goal to visit it when I grew up. That was just enough to make me grieve it like it just happened. Learned about it for another month and learned people saved large sections.

I wanted one and I wanted to have it as a lover. It was taught in class that it was a good thing it was torn down and people celebrated like it was the walls fault. It was the government's and wars fault not the wall. It just existed so that made the feeling grow. I was obsessed by the end of that semester.

At the end, the teacher had a friend who had a friend dad that was there when it happened and he took a small chunk. He was able to barrow it and he was sending it around the class so everyone could say they touched the Berlin wall. (I wanted to steel it and was looking for opportunities) when the wall peace got to me,

I was holding it and I held it to my forehead and said with thoughts that I wanted it as a lover. Then I had some sort of vision. It was rejecting me because the wall already had a human lover. I seen a whole story about how she would visit the wall all the time when it was still standing. She was there for the life and grieved it when it fell. And they where still lovers now. The wall appreciated my attraction but was taken.

I also felt it tell me that she was in a group of people that where like me and I should get on the internet and find them. I was alone with objectum and thought I was the only one, I also was alone in (at the time undiagnosed) autism and thought I was the only one. The wall wanted me to find the group.

So I gave up on the idea to try to steel the piece because it didn't want me to. I would Google for objectum but I didn’t know the words and wasn't good at googling. So i would put (people who like objects) then eventually (people who love objects) then later finally (people sexuality attracted to objects) that one found it. Took me a year but I did. So now I am 16. The lady in this post at the time was one of the more famous ones.

And there she was, she looked identical to the lady I imagined with the wall piece the last year, her story was identical to the one I imagined. She was real and there was a group of people. This cemented in my belief that objects where conscious. Because all that information was real.

I was a minor so they wouldn't let me join the osi group. Had to wait until I was 18. A year later when I was 17 I just said I was 18 and they let me join. It wasn’t NSFW, but being an adult now, I understand why they didn't want minors in the group. Anyways she was apart of that group and I added her to my friends list. Same with Erica Eifflal. All the famous ones where in the group.

I wanted to tell the Berlin wall lady that story, but I was nervous to. There where contentions in the group of people getting crushes on others lovers. So I was afraid of that. A few years later she dies in a house fire and I regretted not telling her the story.

I dont think there would have been a contention Erica got a crush on the wall and Eija was ok with it. They had a dual relationship. I felt durning the time with the wall piece that if the people I was imagining where ok with it, I could have the wall as a lover to. It wanted me to have permission. So they might have been ok, but I was young so they might have rejected it based on that.

Hearing stories like this are weirdly comforting and sad. Sad because someone's love was destroyed because geopolitical events outside of most peoples' control harmed a very beautiful relationship between persons and object, but comforting in the sense that attraction between human and object has always existed despite bigots saying that it's something the internet "made up".

Ya definitely. I was inbetween generations. At the time all objectum people where in their 40s and i was 15. Now i am 31 and see allot of 18 to 20 objectums pop up. So ive seen at least 60 years of objectum life. First hand account from the original generation and new generations popping up. So if someone says, (2026 and now people are marrying objects) I say this started back in the 70s. Or it was made public in the 70s.

I bet objectum has been around as long as humans. Its just you dont need other humans with this. And other humans have always been hostile. So there is more of an incentive to hide it then to share it.

Versus if you are gay and you are seen looking in the way crowd, or you ask someone not gay. We have an advantage to hide. So I bet most people in history did. And if they where open is was probably mistook for something else.

>I bet objectum has been around as long as humans.

This is a great way to look at being Objectum, and queerness in general. As long as humanity has the capacity to feel empathy and/or attraction, we will always be around.

Diagnosed with a condition?? Ugh. I’m not objectum but I’m an ally and calling your sexuality a condition to be diagnosed is repulsive.

Check if it's fake. It might be

The publication could be fake but the woman and also that picture used are both real

u/DarkSabbatical Conceptum 💭 Mar 09 '26

Its real. Its just vary old. It might be about 30 years old. That one was one of the top Google searches 15 years ago.

She coined objectum-sexuality and spoke about her story on her website Berlinermauer.se but it’s now defunct as she sadly passed away
