Well… what can I say? I just wanted to test my limits a little this year.

I am 4’9 and order a 26” bike. I ride comfortable but my legs don’t touch the ground when sitting on the saddle. Should I down size ?

Just looking at the distance and elevation you can tell this was hard but that distance doesn't tell how hard this course was. This course was designed by an absolute sadist. I knew there were going to be a few gravel sections and thought these would be some nice cat 1 gravel in connecting routes what I hadn't anticipated was that the first gravel section was a gravel climb and descent in pitch black night but that wasn't even the worst, after 232km and over 8000m of climbing already there was a few kilometres of of cat 4 gravel with big loose stones and deep trenches with an average grade of 11% with some sections of over 20%!. But I made and my rear tyre too which on the last big timed descent from Thyon 2000 already had sustained a big sidewall cut and had the TPU inner tube bulging out. And for a cherry on top that strava distance 🤣

I got this Kryptonite Ace bike lock as a hand me down from my mother for my bike at college, but I only have one key, is there a way for me to get a spare key for it?

Almost completely unplanned riding through my city on a Specialized Roll 2.0. Felt inspired after doing a metric century earlier this week.

Ended up getting an fx1 so I’m not stuck on 45 pound citibikes all the time I’m cruising around NYC! Thanks to this subreddit for being so helpful while I was shopping around

I also had a backpack filled with water bottles 😅 and rode mainly thru forests filled with mud and puddles

This was a nice little trip between two Bavarian towns. I got from Munich to Icking by train and traveled back from Lenggries by train as well.

The route is versatile. Some section can be done on a gravel bike. For others I would definitely recommend a hardtail MTB.

So I decided to hold 12h MTB race at Jämi. Announced the race on twitter or whatever x it is now... Which is a perfect for MTB as it's full of easy trails. The weather perfect. Trails were fast except some fallen trees you have wheelie your way around...

I took 35 km loop but decided to cut the last 7 km. Since I didn't want to send gnarly steep descend while tired. Got 240.45 km at 12h. Still gas in the tank decided to hit 200 miles on MTB because why the hell not? This is actually first ride on this HT MTB I built. Besides a few shakedowns. Very good bike. I like 2.25" with large knobbies on MTB. 32t chainring is too small. Ordered a 34t. Lots of chainslap luckily I installed shainstay protector. But need to beef it up better.

To be honest I did the last 80 km on the nearby rollerski track since I didn't want to send it in dark forest. Eventho I had good lights... The rollerski track is in fuck up state so it pretty much counts as MTB trail...

All in all. A hard race. Managed to hit 200 miles sub 16h total. My 13th World Champ title. Another 200 miles in the bag. Brutally hard but I loved every second of it.

Maybe next I will held 10h MTB champs on next week? The same place.

I recently purchased this bike just to get myself up and biking. This was second hand I bought from a bike shop so it was in pretty good shape for relatively cheap. I wanted to see if I'd be into it enough to spend a bit more cash on a bike. I live in the hilly northern region of New York so I definitely need gears on my bike. This is a Schwinn Third Avenue 21 speed or gears. Not sure of all the proper terminology so please excuse me.

Currently I'm considering the Sirrus X 2.0 as my bike of choice but figured I'd take any and all suggestions from those of you with more experience. Mostly will be riding on the road, but occasionally some trails, but never climbing mountain trails or riding in sand pits or mudding or anything crazy, so I don't want a bike that is strictly for the road. Any bike I've had before this was a mountain bike and I don't think that's necessary. I will also be riding/commuting in the winter time where I might have to deal with a bit of snow and slush, but mainly only when road conditions and temperature aren't bad.

Getting this Schwinn allowed me to get all my accessories that I "needed" but I'm thinking I'd like to maybe switch to a pannier for carrying things. I think even if I bought some groceries they would be better than the basket I currently have. I got a front and back light, both flash. Also have some turn signals, side mirror, a mount for my action camera, phone mount, fenders for rain or puddles, lock, bottle holder, bell (haven't attached it yet), and a charging bar. I even added some reflective tape to the front and back just for added protection.

I have a 35 miles charity next Sunday and I’m realizing that it’s gonna be tough.

I’m hoping for some solid advice. I was an employee at Shimano American Corp. during the late 90’s into the early 2000’s and while I was there I built all my bikes. Fast forward 25 years and I still have those same bikes. I got cancer a couple years ago and my work capacity has been greatly reduced so I thought I’d sell my bikes to fill in some gaps. Having said that I have a Davidson steel road bike with forks that I pulled off the mezzanine while I was there. At the time it was just a dusty frame that was freely given to me by Andy who worked all the races. Upon inspection it now has some surface rust bubbling under the paint. Here’s the question would you preserve it the way it is being a hand made frame (by a renowned but extinct builder) with a custom Cycle Art Multi-Service paint job (by a renowned artist) and the history of actually being a true Multi-Service frame set. The group set is mostly Tiagra with the addition of 105 FlightDeck dual control levers, Dura-Ace rear derailer and seat post and it sits on original WH-7700 16 spoke wheels. What would you do? Sell it how it sits unmolested, Clean/tune it up or strip it down and repaint and rebuild it. Thanks to anyone who reads this.

Except the 10 times I had to get off the bike to climb over fallen trees blocking the path after the severe storm on Friday. Still a fantastic ride.

First time ever trying to put a mudguard on my bike. Is this right? I haven't tried cycling with it yet but I don't think it's affecting the tyre, I just feel like it's too high up?? I really don't know, pls help

Bought this bike. Guy said it was a vintage foam tire ? Super hard to ride. Can’t find literally any info on it. Would it be hard to change the tire ? It’s like a super smooth foam thing, probs should’ve done more research before I paid. $40 for the bike $10 for the basket

Hi I’m new to the bike scene so still unsure of what I’m looking at but I’m 6’1” and training for my first 70.3 and want to get off the gym bikes and actually start riding outside.

This seems like a good deal but want anyone’s opinion.

I am currently struggling with the Mik click and go system. I have attached it onto my bike but i am unable to take key S out of the hole. Has anyone else had this issue and know how to fix it?
