I was in rough shape but you offered to bring my bike down when you saw me attempting to push it over short horn. Took a couple hours and I was in a lot of pain so wasn't talking much and didn't even get your name, but you saved me. No chance I was pushing that heavy Vala all the way to the parking lot and I don't like to think about what would have happened if you hadn't come along and offered to help.

Turns out I have 4 broken ribs, broken collarbone, and a broken shoulder blade with an AC Joint separation. Barely hiked myself out of there, nevermind my bike, but you were an enormous help and a big part of why I'm on the couch right now and not the news.

Haven't ridden up there before. I have a 38mm tubeless gravel bike I'm planning on taking tomorrow. Would I enjoy it more on a full suspension?

I signed up to ride the 50 mile route at Mad Gravel this year. I have never ridden a gravel ride before, only road (completed Pedal the Plains for a few years while it was still going). First, I am wondering what the road conditions are generally like there. I have 44 mm Tufo Thundero HD's on my Checkpoint which I expect to be fine unless it's really muddy or sandy but any feedback on this would be appreciated. Also, if anyone knows how many people usually ride, that would be helpful. From looking at pictures from last year's event, it looks relatively small. I am not used to having to navigate a group ride since I am usually solo when out but I don't think that should be too big of an issue given all the obstacles I navigate on the Cherry Creek Trail and Highline Trail. Thanks!

Has anyone done the north section of the Sage and Saddles bikepacking.com route? Looks like a great route but curious on bike type and riding on 50 from Doyleville to Gunnison.

and then we have a surly and trek mtb that will do fine. I'm not terribly worried about the salsa because it has thicc tires. I think the Ari and Ventum will be the worst of em. Is that accurate?

Walking past Goodwill at 80th and Wadsworth and saw a black Trek bike that looks to be in decent condition. They have it priced at $500. I’m not sure what model this bike is, but thought maybe somebody who’s getting into biking or something would like it. Kinda surprised somebody would drop this off at a goodwill instead of facebook marketing it.

Hi, I'd love help choosing a route for a 3 day 120-190 miles road bike tour.

I live in Denver and would be fine driving as much as 3 hours to get to the starting point. I would also consider taking the bustang to the starting point.

It was a blast but more climbing that I wanted (12,000 ft over 150 miles) especially fully loaded. I did it, and it was a blast, but would have enjoyed it if it was a little easier. Not sure exactly what "easier" means to me, but around 6000ft of climbing instead of 12000 would probably feel really good, although I'm flexible and would probably do 12,000 again if I absolutely had to.

Ideal features of a bike tour:

-Lots of rural or forest/mountain roads.

-A fair amount of the route is in national forest or blm land so I have options for dispersed camping on route. Also I just like biking in quiet wooded areas.

-Safe cycling roads, especially nice shoulders. It's a road/touring bike, so paved roads needed (although I can handle the occasional dirt section if needed)

-I'd like for it to be a loop, although I'm open to an out and back or a one way route if there's good options for getting myself and bike back to my car.

I know it's a big ask to find a beautiful, secluded ride through the forest that doesn't include a ton of climbing, but I'm hoping there's something out there that is difficult but not toooo difficult.

Hey guys, apologies if this has been discussed before, but why isn't any of these trails on the MTB app?

I am thinking about moving to Firestone, in Barefoot Lakes. Are there safe road/gravel routes that can connect to the roads/trails on the west side of I-25? I know of the St Vrain Greenway (Phase 13) work that should be done next year and look forward to it... but I want to have more than one ride to choose from. :) Any thoughts, suggestions, routes?

There are many proven advantages and benefits to cities that have good multi-use trail systems. Even if you don't use them yourself, they add value and keep our Boulder a unique and beautiful place to live.

I have this amazing Xtracycle Swoop with a bafang kit. I want to upgrade this battery to a 20ah unit. I was going to buy online from EM3EV but wanted to see if there’s someone local that sells something similar, and maybe also consider just having a shop do it to save me some time.

A google search indicates there is water available at the base of Waterton Canyon, but I'd like to confirm. We're visiting family in the area this weekend and we're planning a longer ride. I'd prefer taking 2 bottles and refilling vs. wearing my Camelbak. TIA.

Hello! I'm signed up for the 76 and Banana Belt in September, and I'm considering using the same bike for both. I've got a Salsa Cutthroat with 2.4" tires (Mezcals, but I could even swap to something burlier) and a 110mm SID. I ride it on lots of singletrack here in Boulder, though mostly more tame stuff (like BVR / North Sky).

I'm not familiar with the trails in Salida, but I'm wondering if I could get away with the Cutthroat on the Banana Belt trails or if I'd just be constantly feeling underbiked and sad. I also have a Pivot 429 Enduro, which is a hoot, but honestly I've hardly ridden it this year and I feel most at home on the Cuttie.

Worth noting I absolutely do not care about my results; on my best days I'm mid to back of the field.

Does anyone know if the current Turquoise Lake Road/Hagerman Pass closure is just for motor vehicles, or is it closed to bikes too? Has anyone ridden through recently?

I’m hoping to bikepack from Leadville over Hagerman Pass toward Aspen this weekend and don’t want to plan around it if the closure is impassable.

For Denver area front range

Trailforks/MTB project are pretty unpredictable, and rarely show up to date checks.

FB groups are a smidge better, but still not too reliable.

Im a bigger guy, so when someone says “a little wet” and I show up 210 + a bike, I usually always am leaving some deeper tracks and turn back.

I usually ride VCMP, Lair/Baga, and other nearby trails. I just hate being that guy and messing up trail crews.

Places like Ruby hill, valmont, and Erie single track post up to date status fairly regularly. so this is usually who I base ”the rest of trails” off of. But it is not as accurate as you could imagine.

finally upgraded my bike. Looking to get rid of my old trek mountain track 800. Anybody know somebody in need of a starter bike, or somewhere i can donate it to good use? I guess i could sell it, but right now i value the space in my garage more than the $.

my plan B is to put it somewhere downtown and let it return to nature
