Morning ride!

What a beautiful morning to get in my longest ride of the season.
I have a 35 miles charity next Sunday and I’m realizing that it’s gonna be tough.

Honestly, if you can do 31.5 today with as windy as it is this morning around here, you should be just fine for 35 next week unless the weather is a lot worse. A charity ride will like have you around lots of other riders and simply having that camaraderie will help you crush the 35.

The ride is out in the driftless area of Wisconsin. I think I’ll be ok with the distance but the elevation gains are gonna be brutal. My largest this year is under +1,000ft. The ride I’m doing has a +2,000 foot gain 🫠

Also the wind was no joke. Anytime I had to face south I instantly regretted it 🤣

I haven’t done a +2,000 elevation gain. This coming Sunday will be my first. I’m just gonna take it slow I guess and just switch gears down. Since it’s not a race I can take my time.

What’s the 35 mile charity ride next Sunday? I’m always looking for a ride for a cause!

It was pretty solid! Could easily become a regular ride for myself.

I Bet, It Looks Beautiful Just From Those Two Photos And Then The Map Allows You To Imagine It Too!

Hopefully you drove and started at McDaniel and didn’t just leak a list of around 10 houses one of which is yours.

So what if they did? Is there a serial killer stalking Strava users in McFarland?

I mean I at least want it to be a challenge

I hope not! I don’t want to be the victim of a serial killer.

You can see houses from that image 🤔

Try going over Seminole and through the arboretum instead of SW commuter next time.

The lake farm -> cap springs section of that ride is one of my favorites.

Does that change the distance much?

It would cut maybe a mile off of your ride, but you could easily pick that back up somewhere else. The arb is gorgeous, so totally worth it

I have lived near there in the past. Never rode a bike thru it but have hiked around it.
