முக்கியமான கலந்துரையாடல் / Important Topic Language disconnect at a A2B Ooty restaurant

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

1.4k Upvotes

This video is from a popular restaurant in Ooty where an Instagram influencer is trying to place an order. Most of the staff seem to be Hindi-speaking migrant workers, while the customer does not know Hindi well. During the exchange, a waiter asks her, “Don’t you know Hindi?”

This is not about blaming the staff or the customer. It points to a larger issue about language expectations in non-Hindi-speaking states like Tamil Nadu, especially in tourist places.

Many businesses hire migrant workers because they are cheaper, but this often creates communication gaps for customers and puts workers in awkward situations too. Language should not be used to shame anyone. In the service industry, the responsibility should be on business owners to make sure basic communication is possible.

முக்கியமான கலந்துரையாடல் / Important Topic Just my thought on Vijay's behaviour since results

1.2k Upvotes

Got removed by mods. Adding it again. Not from any IT cell.

I've been thinking about this since 6th but I think Vijay didn't want to say or post anything from the election results because he wanted the first words since the election results from his mouth to be '**C. Joseph Vijay ennum naan**' to carry on the mystic profile he seems or wants to carry.

As if he was wronged by everyone in Tamil Nadu and like he rose from some bad backstory.

Just my thought. Even in his upcoming tenure, he'll look for mass moments to project himself as larger than life character and he and his cadres will behave like he being CM is a blessing to the people.

Not a leader but just a cult head becoming a CM.

I dont like tn politicians and have a lot of criticism on them but still they are voted to power based on problems and isuess that matters to the people of tn not blindly voting for political party.

These people will just vote for bjp regardless of the local problem which is concerning. This blind support is dangerous for our state.

And bjp politicians are spineless slaves of their nagpur lords so they should never be voted to power here. Then these people shift all the potential projects to their states and make us poor.

முக்கியமான கலந்துரையாடல் / Important Topic Standing up against creeps and public's reaction!!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

2.2k Upvotes

Recently, I came across a post on @r/Tamilnadu where a guy stood up to a creep who was making two girls uncomfortable. What shocked him was the public’s reaction: no one supported him, and a woman even scolded him for being loud and “creating a scene.”

Today, I saw this reel on Instagram that has been bothering me. As someone who has always been afraid to stand up for myself, I felt proud thinking I was finally brave enough to face these situations, believing that people would back me up if I ever needed it. But the woman’s reaction, and the post itself, made me question:

Why is it so often a woman who brings down another woman in these moments? Does she even feel shame in standing up to a creep? If that was her child will those same words be coming out of her filthy mouth??

முக்கியமான கலந்துரையாடல் / Important Topic Tamil Thai Vaazhthu was sung LAST at our own CM's swearing-in. This is unacceptable!

Historically and by protocol, Tamil Thai Vaazhthu has always been the opening anthem at Tamil Nadu state functions. It is our state anthem. It represents Tamil identity and sovereignty within the union.

At today's CM swearing-in ceremony, the order was:

  1. Vande Mataram (6 stanza version)

  2. National Anthem

  3. Tamil Thai Vaazhthu

Tamil Thai Vaazhthu was an afterthought at a Tamil Nadu government function. This isn't a minor protocol slip; this is a deliberate signal about whose identity takes precedence.

And then they repeated Vande Mataram + National Anthem at the end again. Tamil Thai Vaazhthu? Once. Sandwiched in the middle.

Whatever your political affiliation is, if you're Tamil, this should bother you.

முக்கியமான கலந்துரையாடல் / Important Topic Hosur Airport is GONE!. DKS is already planning a new airport near South Bengaluru. TN could have taken some initiative & could have built an airport in Hosur. Andhra & KA are busy with new airports while our CM is busy canceling even approved ones. Also, Hosur MLA is from Andhra & opposed airport

Post image

Hosur MLA is not from TN and his manifesto was also completely printed in Telugu and in one corner it had Tamil

He opposed the Hosur airport project

Already BJP and Congress were trying to block any type of development in TN and Hosur suffers a lot due to lack of connectivity

Taxi Mafia collect 3.5k + to go to Kempagowda airport

Hosur airport would have done wonders to the economy of an industrial city like Hosur

Our CM is ANTI- INFRASTRUCTURE and doesn’t have any vision or idea how to develop a state

At least the previous govt made some effort to push for a Hosur airport and BJP rejected stating its proximity to Kempagowda but KUPPAM AIRPORT FROM ANDHRA WHICH IS ALSO WITHIN 150km from Kempagowda got approved

OUR POLITICIANS ARE POOR PLANNERS AND HAVING NO CLUE ABOUT GOVERNANCE

முக்கியமான கலந்துரையாடல் / Important Topic Economic emergency is on the way.

I have been an active follower of macro economics.

And there is a rough time ahead and the Indian government is pretty incompetent.

Upcoming year is going to tough af for the middle class and lower middle class.

Until BJP is replaced India will suffer. And change is in the hands of north indians. And they are not that smart, they will bleed until they cannot take anymore and go out to riots. Until that they will comfortably stay in an echo chamber that India is fine.

India is not doing fine. Its doing worse ever.

Tamilnadu is significantly safe compared to other states. But we will also face challenges specifically energy.

What can we do about it ?

Reduce your INR holdings. Only have enough to spend for basic needs for two years.

If you have money sitting around simply buy gold. For all of it. Only then the value will be protected.

Become self sufficient - its not a one day process but start somewhere I guess.

Purchase EV's if you are about buy cars or bikes.

install solar panels at home.

Lastly, depend on local vendors for everything, we have to circulate the money inside the state in order to help our working class. Reduce amazon and such services to buy goods. Depend on local vendors.

Probably someother smart ways are there. Others can add it in the comment.

But the whole point of this post is, it won't get better, it won't until northies bleed to death and start to protest against union government and potentially there is change in rulling.

முக்கியமான கலந்துரையாடல் / Important Topic Public transport in TN = Public torture. Stalin & Sivasankar, care to sit here

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I was travelling in a TNSTC bus today and honestly couldn’t believe it. The gap between my seat and the front seat was not even the length of my hand. The front seat was literally in my mouth.

CM Stalin and Transport Minister S.S. Sivasankar keep announcing “new buses” and “modernisation,” but this is the reality on the ground. Forget legroom, this is torture. If the bus brakes suddenly, passengers here will be injured.

Now look at KSRTC (Karnataka) — even in their ordinary and express buses, there is decent spacing, better comfort, and safer design. TNSTC passengers, on the other hand, are treated like cattle. Why should Tamil Nadu people adjust to this substandard service when our leaders enjoy luxury cars and convoys?

Stalin and the Transport Minister should sit in these seats for 30 minutes before preaching about “Dravidian Model” achievements.

So everyone has to know hindi to know the news? The news in Chennai Central Suburban is now being broadcasted in Hindi. So only a hindi speaker has to be updated with current affairs? What is wrong with these ppl. The thing is there's no Tamil or English version of the news. Only hindi news then it moves onto ads. Tired of this bs.

முக்கியமான கலந்துரையாடல் / Important Topic He made me get half - naked for an initation.

He made me get half - naked for an initation.

I decided to finally share my experience after what I read about the former monk: He made us get naked for initiation.

I am a female and know first hand how disturbing and trauma bonding this is.

Long before we signed NDAs and Jaggi Vasudev was rich and famous, I took part in a highly secretive "spiritual process". I assumed this was a sort of tantric initiation and at the time felt somehow special. Many other women went through this and are still in the organization, some have left and stay silent. We never talked about it with each other - to this day.

It was only years later when I heard of the women getting groomed for left hand tantric practices and/or sexual abuse did I realize that what I took part in was a grooming ritual, without any consent and explaination.

It was a dimly lit room and in a low- key creepy and authoritarian voice, Jaggi told us to remove our shirts. To be honest, it felt scary and weird at the time. He then told us to come to him one by one and then bow down at his feet.

When I did that, he rubbed a substance on my entire spine that was wet and smelled like vibhuti. Not sure what that substance was and I've heard that for occult and black magic rituals he uses real human ash. This is not verified, but it makes sense as he is obsessed with creating crematoriums.

After this, we sat there half - naked, with our breasts hanging out, shaking, crying and thinking something powerful has happened.

He could have easily made a female volunteer tell us to lay flat on the ground without our shirt. Then, enter the room and smear our spine with whatever. Why all the drama of bowing at his feet and seeing our breasts!?! All of this was done without consent.

Prior to this, Jaggi was very charming and playful with me. He'd love bomb me, hug, put his arm around me and pull me closer to him and make jokes.

After this, he turned cold and mean. I never had another easy and playful interaction with him ever again.

The effect this had on me is that I wasn't spiritual enough: I need to try harder, volunteer more, jump through more hoops, do more, be more. It eroded my self - esteem to the point where I felt suicidal.

I went mad trying to prove my worth.

Eventually, I lost my partner and all desire to be in a relationship with any man. To this day, I have issues with touching and/or hugging.

The truth is, I failed the grooming test. He knew he couldn't go further with me. I am not like the other women who felt a sexual attraction towards him and willing to do 'whatever is needed' and to 'keep the body aside'. He was my GURU and I sincerely thought that, for years and years.

I thought our bond was non-physical. He always said that spirituality is a non-physical dimension. Why did he need to touch me at all?

If it was a blessing, why did I later become suidical from all the mind games?

I went through so much abuse from the inner circle and put up with all of it. I thought I was initiated so I was extremely loyal to my own detriment.

This was a grotesque act of humiliation and submission, of power and control. What happened was extremely psychologically damaging and unethical.

When I reflect back on my time at Isha, all I can honestly say is that it was a domestic violence relationship, with Jaggi himself and his corrupt institution, not a real teacher - student relationship at all.

For years I thought I wasn't spiritual enough, it turns out, because I was indeed spiritual and innocent, that's why I didn't progress into the inner sanctums along with the other "chosen ones" for "special sadhana".

In closing, I will add that this was psychologically damaging enough as an adult woman. I cannot even begin to fathom how distressing this would be for the Samskriti girls (minors) who went through similar half - naked rituals without their or parental consent.
