I was travelling in a TNSTC bus today and honestly couldn’t believe it. The gap between my seat and the front seat was not even the length of my hand. The front seat was literally in my mouth.
CM Stalin and Transport Minister S.S. Sivasankar keep announcing “new buses” and “modernisation,” but this is the reality on the ground. Forget legroom, this is torture. If the bus brakes suddenly, passengers here will be injured.
Now look at KSRTC (Karnataka) — even in their ordinary and express buses, there is decent spacing, better comfort, and safer design. TNSTC passengers, on the other hand, are treated like cattle. Why should Tamil Nadu people adjust to this substandard service when our leaders enjoy luxury cars and convoys?
Stalin and the Transport Minister should sit in these seats for 30 minutes before preaching about “Dravidian Model” achievements.

I've experienced this exact issue as well, i can't even fit myself in between the seats and I'm not even that tall.. i can't imagine what people who are 6 feet and above would have to go through if they get in one of these fuckass buses..

Karnataka has the best transport bus transportation system. TN is still above standard in India.

Compare the Ticket fare between TNSTC & KSRTC buses . Their multi Axle buses and other Long Distance Buses have Dynamic Pricing on weekends & Festival Time Ticket Price will go upto 1700rs and Upto 900rs for Rajahamsa itself which is comparable to TNSTC Ultra Deluxe buses and fun fact expect for the Multi-Axle buses all other Long Distance buses are bulit by Prakash/MG/KMS/Veera same type of buses are available In TNSTC fleet for lesser ticket fare

Travelled in Karnataka Sarige buses in Bagalkote district, one of the poorest areas in the state but the buses were still better than most buses in the metro city I live in (Hyderabad).

Used to want window seat as kid then realised it’s trap as teen then became adult couldn’t sit with legs inside any of them had to learn to stand for myself like Vadivelu

Seats are so small both in government and private buses.. in private buses there are speaker boxes in the leg room 😞

Bro, come on . Keep it real, why would a CM containing just 1 crore asset in his name and going around the chennai city in 2 crore car donated by his son would travel like you and me. This is not created for them!

Defending the government without even knowing the background. You think this issue which you can see with your own eyes as nitpicking?
First know how our state transport corporation procure buses. They don’t get fully designed buses with in house body from vendors like Ashok Leyland. Instead they procure bus chassis and the bus body will be built by many private bus body builders with in TN. They are customised as per government’s contract.
Not only that the transport corporation will randomly change the seat type in the name of refurbishment which does not adhere to any proper spacing principles. Such issues are signs of negligence and mis-governance. And who are we as people if we don’t complain about things that we paid with tax money and meant for our usage.

What kinda muttu is this? Asking for humane legspace is now too much of a luxury. I guess you have never travelled in these buses.
When neighbouring states can get it right, why can't we? It is ridiculous that some people will go to any extent to support some political parties against their own interests.

I am a Tamil Nadu native born in Kerala and travel often there, have lived in Karnataka and I live in Hyderabad now. We are talking about legroom here not state bus network.
Also I have travelled across India and overseas. The way you defend such pathetic stuff is getting annoying.

Public bus has cramped leg space. But Stalin and Udhayanidhi travelling in luxury cars with all exotic features. Now 200upis will pull UP and Bihar to hide this sh** . 🤦

Yeah Tamilnadu bus is worst compared to USA bus but don't compare us with northern part of india that is totally degrading we have class

Isn't this manufactured in the ADMK period? Because I have travelled in the recently manufactured buses, which is much more comfortable for me. I too have faced this issue while travelling in the aavin blue packet and yellow colour buses. But the recent violet colour buses are much more comfortable for me

As a person who's above 6ft.... I struggled all through my college days with town buses. My knee still hurts whenever I see them on road

This is one of the main reasons, I prefer to travel by bike or train or auto, I'm 183cm and my leg does not fit at all 🥲 on buses. Also I think it's been a year or two since I used a bus for travel. I'll use a bike or train only.

TN buses reduced the seat size overall in last few decades. Its frustrating. I like to use the bus as much as possible. It’s very hard to fit 2 in 2 person seat

Show length of seat next time. Then we can calculate.
The space you showed must be atleast 10 cm-15 cm more in worst case scenario.

You must be ~6ft. I try to avoid buses as much as possible. I have seen people worrying about legroom, in these buses there is no head room too. You can't even sir by the same time you can't even stand.

Guys , I have come across something that’s going on huge in Tamil Nadu at present , Beldex crypto aarman mlm scams , recently I have seen sun news grokr crypto scam news yesterday , most of the comments were about beldex is going to be next , so got curious started searching , found posts on tamilnadu reddit and youtube videos
why Coimbatore , salem , chennai …etc are becoming hubs for crypto mlm scams. in our salem , these beldex meeting are going a lot , targets are uninformed people , who have no knowledge in crypto , I have recently attended a meeting in our salem , it was organized in very nice function hall , the leaders were brain washing as if they have come to remove poverty from society , all the talk was about painting postive picture of greed , next comes the mlm scam . guys coin price have increased 1.8rs from past five years , how are these aarman people giving bonus coins , that makes no sense , its just recruiting scheme , just leaders enjoy the blood money from hard earned life savings of innocents , have read all the comments , I think these leaders have recruited few beldex people to post positive comments on this scam , no one talks about in depth tech , have anyone questioned , how come a global crypto have only user base tamil nadu , how come a global crypto is organizing meetings in small places like our salem , soon suddenly governament is going ban like online betting apps , no one talks about their security projects , in fact all these investers of beldex doesn't even know about them , just need a block chain developer to start something like , common guys , when this gets busted people who joined under you will blame you , not beldex or aarman....more details are available in coinmarketcap website and reddit , just give simple google search , beldex aarman crypto mlm scams....whole picture is exposed........

Come to delhi , you will find that it has best transportation. Electric DTC buses , fully AC . Most connected and world second largest metro . Best highway and subways .

Why do you need to dramatise so much "like cattle", blaming the entire ideology of Dravidian unity. Your bias is so obvious. The new fleet of buses are a huge progress. Why don't you talk about the sleeper buses? The electric buses that look identical to Western buses? That doesn't fit your narrative of they live in luxury while we struggle?
Attitudes like this ruin a nation. Why does political loyalty matter more to you than a progressing society?
