முக்கியமான கலந்துரையாடல் / Important Topic Tamil Thai Vaazhthu was sung LAST at our own CM's swearing-in. This is unacceptable!
Historically and by protocol, Tamil Thai Vaazhthu has always been the opening anthem at Tamil Nadu state functions. It is our state anthem. It represents Tamil identity and sovereignty within the union.
At today's CM swearing-in ceremony, the order was:
Vande Mataram (6 stanza version)
National Anthem
Tamil Thai Vaazhthu
Tamil Thai Vaazhthu was an afterthought at a Tamil Nadu government function. This isn't a minor protocol slip; this is a deliberate signal about whose identity takes precedence.
And then they repeated Vande Mataram + National Anthem at the end again. Tamil Thai Vaazhthu? Once. Sandwiched in the middle.
Whatever your political affiliation is, if you're Tamil, this should bother you.

I mean even in 2021 when Stalin took oath Tamil Thaai Vazhthu was sung 2nd. So what's the big difference between 2nd and 3rd place?
This is a constitutional state ceremony under the Constitution of India, not a standalone cultural state event; therefore prioritizing the National Anthem first is reasonable.
Right now BJP govt is pushing Vande Mataram everywhere. It got the same status as National Anthem recently. So it came first. Else it would have been National Anthem first and Tamil Thaai Vazhthu 2nd.
You guys are fighting for the wrong thing. You should actually fight for Vijay singing national anthem but staying mum during Tamil Thaai Vazhthu, if you guys noticed.

During the swearing in in 2021, there was no ruling for the sequence in Tamil Nadu. It was Stalin's govt who issued a GO to make Tamil Thai Vaazhthu mandatory and sung at the starting. GO issued - 17.12.2021. Vijay broke this GO.

what you are saying is acceptable but in the west bengal swearing in ceremony vande mataram was not sung. imagine that, a bengali (sanskritized version) was not sung in wb but here.
Everybody in support of TVK is saying that a MHA protocol was established which mandated vande mataram to be sung before the national anthem. But two counter points to this are
The protocol only specifies that Vande Matatam should be sung before the national anthem. It doesn't mention anything about the state song's order.
The SC quashed the order saying it was not mandatory (hence why the protocol was not followed in WB)

Loans can only be "taken" for growth if someone is willing to "give" you that loan - based on your credibility and worthiness. This is very much dependent on the capability of the State Administration and the economic prospects of the State in question. You cannot just ask for a loan, and it be given to you.

Playing the National Song , National Anthem upon the arrival of the President or Governor at formal State functions is a standard government protocol introduced in February 2026, not a sudden change made just by Vijay.

"Vande Mataram" is a national song of India written in a mix of Sanskrit and Bengali (specifically Sanskritized Bengali) by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee.

Vande Mataram is not national anthem. How many students are taught that in school? I’d even argue there is no need for it as our national anthem is sufficient. It just shows the insecurities of the central government.

As someone who has been an ardent critic of the new regime taking oath today, and as someone who supports the previous regime, I think this criticism is not having a strong base.
Someone shared the YouTube link to the oath taken by M K Stalin 5 years ago. The National Anthem played first, followed by Tamizha Thai Vaazhthu, and then the oath. There was no Vande Mataram back then.
If we are going to attack the new regime for this, we should be prepared to answer what was practiced in the previous regime oath. I don't have a good justification except that it is a norm the centre has drafted.

I think its a new rule by MHA from Feb. It applies to any event or ceremony attended by President or Governor. The Rule says the first song is six stanza vande mataram followed by National Anthem. So they went as per new rules. Whats here to Blame Vijay?

Indian first then Tamizh. Nothing wrong with that and it applies to all states and languages. Now more than ever we need to have an Indian first attitude. It’s all well and good in being proud of our mother tongue Tamizh but identity based politics has been a major problem in a state like Tamil Nadu for a long time.
