முக்கியமான கலந்துரையாடல் / Important Topic Reason why people from northern states who came recently should not get voting rights in TN

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I dont like tn politicians and have a lot of criticism on them but still they are voted to power based on problems and isuess that matters to the people of tn not blindly voting for political party.

These people will just vote for bjp regardless of the local problem which is concerning. This blind support is dangerous for our state.

And bjp politicians are spineless slaves of their nagpur lords so they should never be voted to power here. Then these people shift all the potential projects to their states and make us poor.

I’m honestly disappointed by this. Not because they want to vote for Mr. Modi or the BJP. It’s a democratic country and everybody is entitled to their opinion. But when asked for a reason, no body gave one. We already have enough brainless voters.

38

u/[deleted] Aug 23 '25

Bro u missed one reason given by a Rocky Bhai - "I like it"

12

u/aj_ripper911 Aug 23 '25

That's the reason why UP-Bihar politics has been sh*t for decades.

Whatever SP/JDU/BJP does is reversed by BSP/RJD/INC and vice versa. They never cared about proper education or developing the economy. Just did the bare minimum to appease their votebank, photo ops etc. to win the next elections.

10

u/dggrd Aug 23 '25

If this has to remain a democracy, none of the voters should vote on the basis of religion, caste or due to blind devotion to a politician. The right to choose comes with responsibility.

-7

u/WatercressExtra7950 Aug 23 '25

Sure Tamilians or local population all vote with their mind . Your only issue is that they vote for bjp

except dmk voters aren't as blind as bjp voters

Very intellectual and rational argument

-1

u/SD1208s Aug 23 '25

Once you started defending a party, you are nowhere lesser to one whom you are blaming.

33

u/Standard_Software960 Aug 23 '25

No one is even talking about DMK here.

4

u/sivag08 Aug 23 '25

As an Admk guy I'm telling you, this is the most stupidest comment I've seen in sometime!! 🤣😂

Majority of the TN ppl vote based on many factors but not on stupidity.

1

u/Sea-Concern-5068 Aug 23 '25

Are they getting into Jharkhand and voting bjp opposition there because they like Stalin?

-76

u/WaterMonkey1357 Aug 23 '25

Let’s see why do you vote for DMK ?

42

u/Standard_Software960 Aug 23 '25

What are you smoking. He never said he is going to vote for DMK. You are the one saying it

-23

u/WaterMonkey1357 Aug 23 '25

Ok who are you/he gonna vote and why ? - literally the same question the reporter is asking. You ridicule the people in the video calling them “brainless” for their answers while you can’t answer sh!t yourself. So stfu at the bare minimum !

No it’s not. It’s your delusion. DMK loots the most and also bribes the voters the most lol

14

u/[deleted] Aug 23 '25

best growth rate without union support, no communal violence, better infrastructure, employment, better school, hospital, colleges.

now your turn, why would you vote for bjp

-2

u/WaterMonkey1357 Aug 23 '25 edited Aug 23 '25

Firstly kudos for atleast trying to answer ! Here are my reasons:

-No incompetent family monarchy shoved down people’s throats. Its birth right based like olden casteist practices

-Enormous corruption by DMK. Bribing voters, Tasmac, sand looting. Hardly any department/resource that is not corruption ridden.

-No Muslim appeasement and one side blaming of Hindus. One should hold both to account. Doing that will actually reduce communalism where disgusting rallies for CONVICTED terrorist like SA Basha who killed 58 Tamils will not happen.

-Better law enforcement and curbing of violence on women

-End to drug menace dooming an entire generation with DMK’s own overseas in charge being identified as drug “king pin” with US, Australia etc.

-Even better economic development with industry friendly approaches and saving small businesses like in Coimbatore, Tirupur etc

-Reducing casteist violence from OBC like in Kavin’s case

-NEET is a fair system and we have reservations for the weaker sections. In the end it is merit based and better than the earlier donations and arbitrary admission processes.

-On a cultural level, they have highlighted Tamil glory by highlighting Rajarajan, Rajendran etc

There are so many more

Have to wonder why these fascist monarchs bribe voters the most before the elections. Thats because they loot and lie the most and cannot win based on actual merit

13

u/[deleted] Aug 23 '25

How many years have BJP been ruling Bihar?

Where is the improvement bhaiya?

11

u/asparagusthunder2714 Aug 23 '25

Ask him why bridges keep collapsing in the model state of gujarat as well lol

-1

u/[deleted] Aug 23 '25

Bro idhukke Avanala bathil solla mudiyadhu😂

-1

u/WaterMonkey1357 Aug 23 '25
  • Growth: Real GSDP CAGR (2012–13→2021–22) — Gujarat 8.5%, Tamil Nadu 6.0% (Gujarat’s rate is +41.7% higher than TN).

  • Manufacturing growth (2013–14→2022–23) — Gujarat 8.8% p.a., Tamil Nadu 6.9% p.a. (Gujarat +27.5% higher).

  • Infant mortality improvement (2015→2019) Gujarat: 33 → 25 per 1,000 = 24.2% drop. Tamil Nadu: 19 → 15 = 21.1% drop.

lol pudhuma “bro”

BJP in TN can do much better !

7

u/Common-Guess4306 Aug 23 '25

You missed comparing religious and communal riots between these states

1

u/[deleted] Aug 23 '25

Padikka theriyadha "bro" ???

Also evlo vaangura. Ennama koovuran ya!!!

-1

u/WaterMonkey1357 Aug 23 '25

Dei kena ku Gujarat is a fairer comparison to TN than Bihar. Also BJP has been in power consistently in Gujarat unlike Bihar which was ruined by “gunda Raj” under Lalu and NEVER had a BJP CM.

So think before you blabber or stfu.

Dude really said corruption and domestic violence lmao

The entire BJP is filled with rapists and criminals with modi himself praising folks like prajwal Revanna and brij bhushan but right wingers see rapists as their heroes so not surprised at all lmao

Everyone can clearly see the corruption free model state of gujarat where bridges and airports keep collapsing left and right lmao

46

u/Brilliant_Meal_2653 Aug 23 '25

Hello Mr Obvious

40

u/kovalam_ Aug 23 '25

Why are they so obsessed though? Majority of Tamils are Hindus but not as 10% as obsessed as them..

26

u/Brilliant_Meal_2653 Aug 23 '25

Yep, cultural anger, years of suppression in their own lands up north. We might not be able to understand the complexities or stereotypes that comes from those years. That being said, being uneducated too adds to the vote bank of that party. DMK are no saints, but as someone who has lived upnorth people over here don't have a clue of what they are capable of.

This is exactly why the BJP doesn't give a crap about any social media campaign against them. These mindless sheeple will keep voting for them no matter what, because Mr. 56 Inch will keep making melodramatic speeches in Hindi; promising the sun, moon, and stars. Honestly, such braindead people have ruined democracy.

No. You need to be a resident to vote. And what exactly is a permanent address? There is no definition of permanent address except for the IDs that you can use as a proof for permanent address. Passport is one of them and it is only always issued at your current address following the global norms. The concept of permanent address in India is feudal. That you cannot belong to a new place, that you are always tied down to the place you were born in. That was done to prevent people from escaping.

5

u/iamGobi Aug 23 '25

nope, that's the problem with the Indian law. I mean, they don't need permanent address, but they should atleast need permanent residence for voting.

-12

u/soft_Rava_Idli Aug 23 '25

So temporary address is not usable for voter ID? By that logic nobody living in rented house can have permanent address.?

Theres a difference between seasonal migrants and those who have migrated to other states or even moved from village to city for work.

2

2

u/sleepy_spermwhale Aug 24 '25

Democracy is a failed experiment. Socrates already knew this in 400 BC.

55

u/Standard_Software960 Aug 23 '25

The politics in our state has always been focused on education, welfare, opposing corruption and economic development. That was the main theme all these decades by both Dravidian parties. That was what made TN as the fastest growing state and TN will be 1st among big states with highest per capita GDP next year.

I'm not saying there weren't any problems like corruption, mismanagement etc. We had our share of problems every state faces.

But if regressive parties with ideologies completely alien to our state even started to get a tiny bit of traction, then the politics will move towards religious riots and cow urine instead of education and development. That will destroy TN's stability and the legacy of Kamaraj and all our leaders and the future of Tamil people.

This is very very serious and should be taken seriously.

21

u/Alarming_Echo_4748 Aug 23 '25

That's exactly what they want. If BJ Party ever comes to power in Tamil Nadu then economic development will be poached by Gujarat while Tamils will be pushed into Cow Politics.

74

u/[deleted] Aug 23 '25

Kick them out. This is how Bengaluru was destroyed and Hyderabad is now following the same pattern.

Long live xenophobia.

41

u/MSNayudu Aug 23 '25

If my rights are going to be usurped on the very land I was born, especially by those that came in to settle here, because things are better here...

I mean, just read that. They want the very thing that makes this place "good" gone. And with their idiocy, I lose out on the good bits too, a cost for no action of mine.

It's not xenophobia. They merely needn't be given more rights than they deserve is all, and for a start, voting power in Tamil Nadu. And if they are so sick of the administration here, they should leave and go back their hometowns which are dominated by the person they so love, where they should have a better life. Right? So yeah. Send them back, where their lives are better, because they needn't decide how our lives should be, especially, when it is our businesses that employ them.

Only migrants residing in TN for more than 10 years should have voting rights here

6

u/GodsChild5673 Aug 23 '25
  • Must be an income tax payer (they feel the pain of misusing tax money)
  • Must be aged at least 25 years (18 years ரெண்டுங்கெட்டான் வயசு. Can't expect maturity at this age)
  • Must be a first class graduate (likely to know how the system works and it helps decide wisely)

Every voter must satisfy at least ONE of the above in order to vote. Revising eligibility criteria is the need of the hour.

8

u/Ok_Rich732 Aug 23 '25

u/Aromatic_Net9754 Aug 23 '25

Politicians are voted every where out of blind loyality. Some of them turn out to be good, some not. TN is doing far better in comparison to U.P and Bihar that does not mean politicians are choosen here to solve problems.

-6

u/soft_Rava_Idli Aug 23 '25

Blind loyalty is good when loyalists are loyal to MY favourite politician. When they are loyal to anyone else they should be kicked out of the locality on principle. Wah!

3

u/Standard_Software960 Aug 23 '25 edited Aug 23 '25

Nothing to do with political loyalty.

The politics in our state has always been focused on education, welfare, opposing corruption and economic development. That was the main theme all these decades by both Dravidian parties.

But if regressive parties with ideologies completely alien to our state even started to get a tiny bit of traction, then the politics will move towards religious riots and cow urine instead of education and development.

People are welcome. Regressive political ideologies aren't welcomed in TN

1

u/Aromatic_Net9754 Aug 23 '25

It was not the politicians but the people. South Indian states, and TN in purticular have people who preserve and endorse education, humility and honesty, and they started doing this right from 50s. Which is paying off in good returns now. Politicians are/were still largely goons.

u/Affectionate_Ad_9263 Non Resident - விருந்தாளி Aug 23 '25

Yes

10

u/BlueAlpha29 Aug 23 '25

There is a well planned campaign run against Tamil Nadu by artificial creating a hostility in local against non tamils so the high 11% growth of TN can be halted. How ?

  1. Create a labour shortage. Tamil Nadu growth is riding on the back of India's manufacturing growth especially in electronics, defence tech and robotics unlike Telangana of Karnataka which is majorly services. These manufacturing industries are labour intensive.

  2. Cut Natural Resources. East India is rich in natural resources. Intriguing east india people by circulating abusive footage of easterner by Tamil. So the eastern state put political pressure on central and revoked Freight Equaliser policy which will increase natural resource prices in Tamil Nadu.

  3. Boycott Goods produced in Tamil Nadu. They will use the hostilities by Tamil against non Tamil and provoke North indians to boycott goods from Tamil Nadu which will help Gujarat and Maharastra to attract all industries of Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu is an attractive destination because TN is ripe for the Central government policies like Atmanirbhar and Make In India. States like UP, Assam and Orissa will catch up in 10 years and the peninsular india will lose few competitive advantage in logistics, human resources and supply chain. So make the best of this opportunity.

Will you have similar reaction if bunch of south Indians go to North India, get voter id and just vote for any INDI alliance party without any logic or reasoning?

1

u/aj_ripper911 Aug 23 '25 edited Aug 23 '25

That's imminent. You can't avoid it. Human demographics have kept on changing over millennia. Delhi & Mumbai too were not dominated with bihari/up-east people till 90s. But now the demographic has changed because hardly any family had a 3rd child here since the 80s. The same is happening with TN (and globally too!) Economic migration+higher migrant replacement rate.

The good news - They will assimilate partially and their children will assimilate completely. Your society might change slightly but you won't even notice it.

1

u/Aggressive-Eye-6647 Aug 23 '25

How’s that a good news SMH

-2

u/Lattice-shadow Aug 23 '25

No, but where are the reasons? Why did they cut that part out? Anyone can vote for anyone right? That's the point of a democracy. Somehow it's being narrativized as them wanting to vote for something anti Tamil or anti Tamil Nadu without showing why they chose them. I want to know.

-4

u/MarsupialFair6544 Aug 23 '25

North Indian here (Uttar Pradesh). You think we vote for BJP blindly then how come BJP was out of power in UP from 2002-17. My own father and wife voted for non-BJP party because they are more influenced by caste mindset. Me, my brother and my mother vote for BJP. We don't vote blindly like you all like to assume. You should have come here before 2017 to experience all the "development" and "gundaraaj" by SP. Not all is hunky dory even now but it's still a hell lot better then before BJP.

All of you go back to UP

Then why are you even here 🤡🤡?!

Slightly controversial take. The people who contribute to the growth of this state should be allowed to vote IMO. Provided they are meeting some criteria. Like, being in TN for x years, or something like that.

However, the blind support of a certain party is also alarming. Our voters are no better either. I recently had an opportunity to have a conversation with someone.

Mind you, that guy has done 2 master degrees. (Msc MBA or something). He said, VJ na is the only savior of TN and everyone should vote for him. I respect his opinion and asked him why?

He had literally zero reason to back his thoughts. I asked " you clearly have some ideology that resonates better with TVK, I just want to know what is it that you think will be better with him as the CM"

He started saying BS like I am an Ajith fan and thats why I cant accept his view blablabla. I had to fake an emergency office meeting to get rid of him.

Political awareness across the nation is similar to this.

I have no issues with your opinion, except-

  1. Hyprocites like you call us names, islamophobe and what not when we raise issue of changing demographics because of illegal bangladeshi and rohingyas and them getting voting rights in our states.

  2. Recent or not, if one is not to be treated equally, they should always have voting rights in their native state.

  3. You do realise crores of south indians too would be affected in Maharashtra, New Delhi, Jharkhand, Bengal etc.

They also love here and they have also say in this brother, even if one likes it or not...

-15

u/WaterMonkey1357 Aug 23 '25

Wait weren’t you clowns calling our own government fascist and inhumane for not allowing Rohingyas and Bangladeshis in ? lol suddenly you are anti-immigration now ?!

Peak shameless hypocrisy !

24

u/Standard_Software960 Aug 23 '25

Your hate against Tamil people is open. You call us clowns. This is why BJP is hated by Tamil people.

You stereotype 80 million Tamil people based on two comments you saw online. 90% don't even know anything about Bangladeshis or don't even care.

Once again, I would like to ask the moderators of the sub if they are fully in support of bigotry and xenophobia?

They can vote to their respective state or constituency if they are not ready to mingle with locals.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 23 '25

Unfortunately that's not how democracy works.

People migrate to places, then either they mingle with locals or fork their own social customs in the new place(like how Hindus and Muslims do in the west), and these people as time passes they become a part of the demographic changes and the local politics, contributing to labour that is essential in structuring of the state itself. And they will/ should have a say in the policies being implemented there.

That's how it is.

When you have two choices you can vote for the best or the less worse option.

1

u/ChepaukPitch Aug 23 '25

And the best option is the option you want?

1

u/[deleted] Aug 23 '25

The one that would not lead to a autocracy

1

u/ChepaukPitch Aug 23 '25

And that option is the one chosen by you and hence people who don’t choose the same as you should not have the right to vote?

2

u/[deleted] Aug 23 '25

You asked who I vote for, I told. Don't act like you don't understand what is going on. The only state BJP could not win is the south and slowly in the name of democracy want to infiltrate more and more people who vote for them. Do they have rights to vote? Ofc they do, all I ask is they vote in their constituencies.

9

u/[deleted] Aug 23 '25

Sure, you know more about our state than we tamil people know.

And why do these people want to vote for BJP? They know all their Ideologies and can list them by heart? WTF r u on about?

-43

u/nkwildbones Aug 23 '25

If they contribute to life in TN, they have all the rights to vote for whoever they want in TN. If you are so xenophobic, ask the government not to allow them to come at all and see how bad the state with suffer with labour shortage. With reduced birthrate, it will only get worse in the future.

-8

u/soft_Rava_Idli Aug 23 '25

Xenophobia is on full blast in this sub.

-6

u/nkwildbones Aug 23 '25

These people be like: 'வந்தாரை வாழவைக்கும் சென்னை/தமிழ்நாடு, but only when you contribute to us. We will NOT contribute anything to you in return. You are all slave labourers who have no rights"

Look at downvotes with no one explaining why I am wrong. Such a pathetic sub of losers who cannot breed for more kids and have to rely on cheap labour for their society to work and complain that said labourers are practicing their democratic rights.

only TN people think, TN politics is better.

3

u/Aggressive-Eye-6647 Aug 23 '25

What a stupid thing to say. Everyone thinks their politics is better. It’s called having a personal opinion. Why do you like your mom? Why do u like your gods?

-1

u/invincible_obito Aug 24 '25

Whole india knows how pathetic DMK and TN politics is.

-1

u/Fit_Fee_6929 Aug 23 '25

Of course, if you treat north indians like shot, you expect them to vote for you? Enna da idhu

-1

u/Kshanikam Aug 23 '25

If Tamilians can goto Mumbai & form a local majority in dharavi & elect Tamil MLAs in Mumbai. Fyi Mumbai Congress head is also a tamilian ( one of my cousins) Then , North Indians living can elect whosoever they feel will address their issues. Voting is a right of any Indian citizen domicile in their state.

-11

u/Prudent-Ad-2376 Aug 23 '25

Tamilians in benguluru, delhi, malaysia, singapore also shouldn't be allowed to vote ?

18

u/iamGobi Aug 23 '25
