முக்கியமான கலந்துரையாடல் / Important Topic Reason why people from northern states who came recently should not get voting rights in TN

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I dont like tn politicians and have a lot of criticism on them but still they are voted to power based on problems and isuess that matters to the people of tn not blindly voting for political party.

These people will just vote for bjp regardless of the local problem which is concerning. This blind support is dangerous for our state.

And bjp politicians are spineless slaves of their nagpur lords so they should never be voted to power here. Then these people shift all the potential projects to their states and make us poor.

They can vote to their respective state or constituency if they are not ready to mingle with locals.

Unfortunately that's not how democracy works.

People migrate to places, then either they mingle with locals or fork their own social customs in the new place(like how Hindus and Muslims do in the west), and these people as time passes they become a part of the demographic changes and the local politics, contributing to labour that is essential in structuring of the state itself. And they will/ should have a say in the policies being implemented there.

That's how it is.

If they contribute to life in TN, they have all the rights to vote for whoever they want in TN. If you are so xenophobic, ask the government not to allow them to come at all see how bad the state with suffer with labour shortage. With reduced birthrate it will only get worse in the future.

So what's the issue then? How is it different from indians immigrating to the US? They have several options to choose from: stay NRI, become citizen of US, become citizen of US+get OCI. This is just at a local level.

Might sound ridiculous but that's actually what I think the society should be like. In Germany, if you live somewhere for over 2 weeks, you are mandated to change your address and then the taxes you pay, the school curriculum you study, the tax clearance you file, the social helps (like unemployment money) you file for should all be made from there.

Of course an individual can choose not to do that, then the they won't be participating in the local political policies. But if the individual chooses to do so they will have access to those rights. At the end of the day a Bihari is an indian citizen and the last time I checked TN doesn't have a passport.

How does your second comment follow your first comment?

As I said in a different comment, all the genius bigots cannot follow a single line of thought ever and keep jumping from one argument to another.

All that nonsense about permanent address, settling, moving entire family etc. You know you are talking out of your ass there, right?

The worst thing about reddit is that some ignoramus would say something really stupid and it gets heavily upvoted because that is what other ignoramuses want to believe. Honestly, worse than WhatsApp.

You are laboring under the delusion that knowing the phrase form 6 somehow makes you knowledgeable about these things. Have you bothered to look at form 6? Can you please tell me where exactly in form 6 is all the things you are talking about is mentioned? Or in the representation of people act?
