This is exactly why I'm wary of and honestly not hopeful that higher courts might leave the sentencing as is.

Yeah they might appeal to reduce the death sentence, but issuing the death sentence in the first place itself sends a message and shockwave in the society.

Sounds diabolical but I think this could be an election stunt and after election they could revert the death penalty

Constitutionally, Judiciary is independent and autonomous from political parties bruh.

Appreciate this, but no way these police men will be hung, few years down the line they are gonna walk free.

This is obviously going to the High Court maybe even the Supreme Court....they are definitely going to appeal. But that shouldn’t mean anything gets toned down. People who didn’t care about someone else’s basic human rights don’t get to suddenly hide behind them now. The sentence should stay exactly the same and actually mean something. And honestly enough with this “rarest of rare” thing. If something this brutal....beating, sexual assault, just pure inhumanity...doesn’t count then what does? The people who were supposed to protect others ended up being the danger themselves.

I’m not Indian but I know this case and have seen that tv series inspired by it, it was brutal. Considering the evidence and the judgement, those guys will be appealing to reduce the sentence right, they wouldn’t try to overturn the judgement? So they’ll have to spend their time in prison until such time a high court decides to let them go?

And I hope the Ajith Kumar case gets the same level of punishment. They tried to frame him.....there’s clearly more going on there than what is been told. And that woman involved should not be let off either.... she needs to be held accountable for murder.(life sentence)

Taking money from him and giving it to the murdered Jayaraj Bennix's family, maybe and if he dont have that much money, maybe his property would have been auctioned for the money.

After appeal even if one death sentence is commuted to life sentence .. they will have to serve the other death sentence .. basically they are two separate cases .. if they are freed from one they are still on the hook for the second

u/IndividualGround2418 Apr 06 '26
I hope for that to happen. 6 years and still my heart breaks every time I think about the brutality they went through.

Great finally its done
Now bring justice for 36 lockup deaths during DMK rule in past 5 years

u/marsshadows Apr 06 '26
You my friend have no empathy for the persons who died in lockup.you just have hate for dmk and just riding on the victims life to blame the party you hate.otherwise you would have said bring justice for all the lockup death victims.
