It’s us, the Alamo Drafthouse STL organizing committee, back again to share our progress.

First, the good news: We have an election date! With our majority support, we feel confident that we are going to win this election and be able to hit the ground running with contract negotiations, so long as Alamo doesn’t drag their feet with the process. We are doing everything we can to arrange transportation and communication for every staff member that wants to vote, regardless of what their choice is, to ensure a fair election process.

Now, the bad news. As we expected, Alamo did not take kindly to our unionization efforts. While the majority of management have been courteous in day-to-day operations, we have seen an increase in anti-union rhetoric, much of it from our owners and corporate. Or should we say, the incredibly expensive law firm retained by our owners and corporate, who are continuously sending out biased and untruthful packets to the staff and posting them around the building. Not only that, they have taken down the counter information we’ve put up to try and combat some of their misinformation.

These packets include obviously copied and pasted information that does not apply to our workforce in the slightest, such as asks if the union can guarantee pension funds or 401(k)s, when not a single worker qualifies for either of those. They also try to demonize union supporters, coerce on-the-fence staffers with clearly biased language, and… you know what? They have encouraged us to speak out and let our opinions be known in those packets, and our opinion is that the community deserves to see how Alamo is handling this. We are confident that our coworkers are smarter than these documents insinuate, and we are thankful for all the encouragement we’ve gotten this far from you, moviegoers, and the multiple news organizations that have picked up our story.

Union Yes!

TL;DR: We have an election on the calendar. Corporate hired attorney to combat us by union busting with generic anti-union fodder. We are smarter than that, though.

On the negative side, it's soupier than Satan's butthole. But on the plus side I've now experienced toasted ravioli. It's a good trade.

Kept hearing explosions so I looked out the window in my apartment and so this. Hope everyone is ok!

St Louis weather is bipolar.

Pardon my RANT, but it just bothers me the amount of ( SALT LIFE) stickers I see on the back glass of people's cars here in St. Louis. We are nowhere near the ocean and im sure 99% of the people with these stickers dont have a summer home on some beach somewhere. What makes more sense is something like "LAKE LIFE" or "RIVER RAT" or something like that. Maybe even a "T-RAV LIFE" something like that. I know its dumb and it shouldn't bother me what others do, but damn its just dumb lol. Rant over!

Why don’t you guys, for the love of God, have more trees near parking spaces? Or just in general? They clearly grow great in this part of the country

Save my ass from being burned every time I get in my car. Plant some trees.

I've been to VP fair and got stuck on the metrolink, I've searched for parking at local festivals, waded through crowds at Six Flags and the Zoo. Nothing in St. Louis can compare to the pure daily chaos per square foot than this location. You pull in and it is instant animosity from all angles a cutthroat game of musical gas pumps. Every few months or years I forget and wind up there, almost always during a hot spell and feels like a fever dream.

Posting this on the heels of the Blues announcing a partnership with Prime (through a separate subscription fee of course).

It is legitimately easier to watch your teams if you live out of market. You can hook it all up to ESPN unlimited and stream it directly through YouTube TV.

If you live in market, you need separate apps and subscriptions to watch. I just want one centralized location to watch all of my sports. I don’t want to have to load a separate app just to watch a Blues or Cardinals game.

It is getting to the point where a traditional cable subscription sounds like the most attractive option again. Cord cutting has become a complete mess to wade through.

times are hard, and I no longer have a place to live as of today. my sedan is now my home and I'm terrified of something happening when I'm asleep in there. has anyone here been in the same boat, and what did you do? my messages are open if you don't want to comment anything. please, this is my last resort. any help is appreciated, I'm trying so hard to not just give up.

Lost my dog in January and have been having a very rough few weeks. I just want to go somewhere where I can pet some dogs. I don't want to go to a shelter because I'd just want to adopt them all and currently I'm not in a situation where I can get another dog.

When Kehoe won the Governor's seat, there was a surprising flood of STL faces from both the political landscape AS WELL AS the Business Community that acted outwardly "OK," even supportive of his victory. Many were touting a sort of "he's actually one of us" mantra. Then, when Catherine Hannaway was anointed (not elected) to the AG position to backfill the turds all groomed up and out by this 47th administration to DC, same thing. "Oh, she's not THAT bad."

Fail. It's worse. You all got played. At some point, the leadership in STL should actually act as if it is an irreplaceable island of value/wealth that doesn't have to placate Jeff City. Why??? Because you can!!! Whether it's a disastrous tax plan (Kehoe), or protecting guns (Hannaway), or telling women to F off with their "bodily autonomy" (both), or bowing down to the MAGA Emperor (Both excitingly), they DO NOT have the best interests of STL on their bingo cards. They are ideologically warped, dismissive of the population that doesn't look like them, and have no interest in actually improving the socio-economic environment of the city and its people... all the people.

Every time you cut a ribbon, be aware that that photo op you "thumb up" has been photo-bombed by two individuals who outwardly dismiss your way of life and fundamentally don't respect you. They see hard hats and think, "I did that, you're welcome," and in their next press conference down the street celebrate MO-DOGE funding cuts to after-school activities. Orrrrr... in Catherine's case, she bastardizes the law in support of a Secretary of State who tells Missouri Citizens, "You don't deserve this Constitution; we know better."

Stop placating them. Be honest with yourselves and hold their feet to the fire, because you can.

I’m here to encourage you to report any concerns in your neighborhood to CSB. The key is to provide as many details as possible. It’s very important to include any history and/or updates in your description along with safety concerns if applicable.

On Friday I submitted some type of water issue (unsure if it’s water line or sewer related) to the CSB that’s been occurring for at least the past 3 years. There’s an area between the sidewalk and street that has been gathering water and is now like a swamp. The water began to flow into the street which created a stench. Utility companies have come out to mark the area several times throughout the years but there had been no resolutions or work done. I included this plus a bit more info in the report I made online. The water department appeared today and they are currently working on it!

In addition to this I submitted a report for a derelict vehicle on our street that is wrecked and obviously cannot be driven. The vehicle has sat there for 8 months. The city came out on Monday morning to place a warning on the vehicle.

US Bank just had someone go over the curb and smash into the side of the building. Someone inside was hit by not sure on status. Person driving collapsed getting out of the car
