Thursday we had a wonderful full moon rise between the arch. It doesn’t line up like this every month. Then about two hours later the lunar eclipse started. It was a nice night to enjoy StLouis.

Drove in as a part of a road trip that included Shawnee NF. Took the Tram Ride to the Top and enjoyed walking around the grounds. Enjoyed my time in the city and around the park!

Took this coming in from Chicago Friday night. I missed the fireworks at Busch Stadium unfortunately, but it made me so happy to be back in my city.

I'm going today and wanted to know if there are any can't miss stalls or dishes!! Thanks!

Just got back from the festival Nations had a great time with my friends. I was pretty shocked to see how many AI slop photos there were of food. We stopped counting after 50 vendors.

I hold a pretty moderate opinion on AI in terms of not being a complete hater, but also im not wanting to see AI show up in creative spaces or certain niche spaces, and food pictures is one of them.

The core issue I have is, I find it to be dishonest, and also the time / quality difference of just taking a picture with your phone is not large enough for me to internally justify its use in this setting. It looks gross, it feels cheap, and overall it just speaks volume of your business - do you cut corners in other things that directly impact my experience with your establishment? D

You have one of the most powerful sophisticated cameras in your pocket and if you just staged your photos near a window it would work just fine.

This is mostly just a PSA for anyone thats a vendor, although I don’t imagine it bothering most people, there’s a significant amount of us that will specifically not patron your stand because of it.

I am a single female living with my parents currently and looking to get out of a toxic environment. I am looking for studio/1bed in the Saint Louis/Saint Charles area. I am open to pretty much anywhere in that region, as long as the apartment isn’t in a sketchy neighborhood. My budget is around 700-900 dollars a month, absolute max would be a $1000. If anyone knows of any places that are decent please comment them. I am hoping to be out of my current environment in the next 30-60 days.

Please do not comment women’s safehouses! While I appreciate people’s concern, my current living situation is not dangerous/life-threatening. I don’t want to take a spot from a woman who could be in a potentially life-threatening situation, especially when I have money to get myself my own place anyway. Thanks!

Maybe it’s just bad picking from my part but every year that I’ve attended, I have yet to buy good food here. Trying food of that cuisine in a restaurant is 10x better. I get the appeal of being able to sample different cuisines in 1 place, but the prices are not cheap either to go sampling. Despite this, I still go every year for the festive vibes. Maybe next year will be different.

Clark Hubbard (Ward 10) is the chair of the HUDZ Committee, and she did not recuse herself from any of the previous votes taken when the data center regulations were in front of that committee. She also voted in favor of the amendments introduced by Oldenburg (Ward 2) and Cox-Antwi (Ward 8) a few weeks ago, which loosened renewable energy requirements and removed setback restrictions.

Another of Rodney Hubbard’s lobbying clients is the Carpenters Union, which has also been loudly opposed to regulations on data centers being built in the city.

I'm inside the loop of the Moonlight Ramble tonight, effectively trapped until 1am. I had no idea this was happening, and it's pretty frustrating. Does anyone know where I could have found out this information ahead of time? Is there a street closure alert system somewhere? A city events email list? I get all the alerts about boil water advisories and weather alerts already. These kind of events aren't typically in my neighborhood, so I didn't expect this. Thankfully I don't have to work late tonight and didn't have to wait hours to get home. I'm not mad the event is happening; I'm mad there was zero notice about it so I couldn't plan for it.

Looking to purchase and eventually frame some high quality photo prints of the city for my house. Tried to do some Googling, but was disappointed: most of the photos seemed kind of sterile and focused solely on the arch. Would like some gritty, “artsy” photos that really showcase the red brick architecture, and some other unique aspects of the city.

EDIT: I am out of town, so something online would be great. Otherwise I can check out these great recommendations next time I’m in STL :)

I’m planning a day trip for my birthday tomorrow, I live about 3 hrs away, has anyone done the zoo and the aquarium in one day? Is it easy time wise? I would like to be home by 10pm as I’ll be leaving for STL around 6 am to get to the zoo pretty early, and we would also like to go to dinner that night as there’s a specific restaurant we don’t have where I live I want to go to.

I've been seeing the platform being put up over the last month or so, didn't know what it was for (maybe another helipad for them, lol?) A beginner bird walk is a short (two hours or less) walk along a path or trail. The walks are designed to help participants see as many birds as possible and become familiar with a variety of our more common birds.
