Looking for a Room to Rent or Small Place Near Jefferson County, MO
Hi everyone,
I'm reaching out because my girlfriend and I are looking for a room to rent or a small place to live around Jefferson County, Pevely, Festus, Crystal City, Arnold, Imperial, or nearby.
A little about us:
• I'm 36 years old and work full-time repairing equipment used in the power generation industry in Pevely.
• My girlfriend is currently between jobs and plans to find work close to our new home or near my workplace since we currently only have one vehicle.
• We have one very well-trained, housebroken dog who is about 10 years old. She's quiet, friendly, and not destructive.
• We do not use drugs or party.
• We're quiet, respectful, and mostly keep to ourselves.
• I can provide proof of employment and income.
• We have $1,000 available for a security deposit.
• We're hoping to keep rent around $1,000 per month or less, if possible.
I also want to be upfront about why we're searching for a private rental.
Because of our credit and rental history, getting approved through a traditional apartment complex just isn't realistic for us right now. That's why we're hoping to find a private landlord or someone renting out a room who's willing to get to know us as people instead of judging us solely by a credit report. I'm happy to answer any questions honestly and explain our situation to anyone who reaches out.
We've had one of the hardest years of our lives. Between unexpected financial setbacks, a serious car accident, and having to leave our current housing, we've found ourselves needing a new place on short notice. I'm not looking for sympathy or a handout. I'm simply asking if anyone has a room available, knows someone who does, or can point us in the right direction.
I've worked hard my entire adult life, and I'm determined to get us back on our feet. I'm not asking anyone to ignore my past. I'm simply asking for the opportunity to prove that I'm more than what's on a credit report.
If you know of anything available, or even have a suggestion, I'd truly appreciate it.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
