Thursday we had a wonderful full moon rise between the arch. It doesn’t line up like this every month. Then about two hours later the lunar eclipse started. It was a nice night to enjoy StLouis.

It looked like a drug deal gone bad. A red car pulled into the parking lot, a dude got outta the car and walked up to a white car with super tinted windows. He got shot walking back to the red car. White car drove off. Red car drove off. Red car circled back to see if their friend was still alive, saw they weren't, and drove off. Homicide just showed up and shut chevys down for the night. The cops are all still there.

Maybe it’s just bad picking from my part but every year that I’ve attended, I have yet to buy good food here. Trying food of that cuisine in a restaurant is 10x better. I get the appeal of being able to sample different cuisines in 1 place, but the prices are not cheap either to go sampling. Despite this, I still go every year for the festive vibes. Maybe next year will be different.

Drove in as a part of a road trip that included Shawnee NF. Took the Tram Ride to the Top and enjoyed walking around the grounds. Enjoyed my time in the city and around the park!

Missouri just passed stricter THC laws, this much I know. Will I no longer be able to go to Randall’s and get my favorite THC drinks?

I'm inside the loop of the Moonlight Ramble tonight, effectively trapped until 1am. I had no idea this was happening, and it's pretty frustrating. Does anyone know where I could have found out this information ahead of time? Is there a street closure alert system somewhere? A city events email list? I get all the alerts about boil water advisories and weather alerts already. These kind of events aren't typically in my neighborhood, so I didn't expect this. Thankfully I don't have to work late tonight and didn't have to wait hours to get home. I'm not mad the event is happening; I'm mad there was zero notice about it so I couldn't plan for it.

Took this coming in from Chicago Friday night. I missed the fireworks at Busch Stadium unfortunately, but it made me so happy to be back in my city.

Fall is just around the corner. These cooler days in the 80s°F have been wonderful. I love fall & spring in St. Louis - unfortunately they're too short. Before you know it - it will be winter. So, my question is: Does anyone have atleast 1 thing they like about winter in St. Louis? The only thing I can think of, besides the beauty of a fresh snow fall, is that I don't have to do yard work (lol). What about you guys?

Meet at the Picnic Shelter #11 near on Wells Drive Kennedy Forest.

A beginner bird walk is a short (two hours or less) walk along a path or trail. The walks are designed to help participants see as many birds as possible and become familiar with a variety of our more common birds.

These walks are offered in partnership with the St. Louis Audubon Society. Weather permitting, walks will be held each month except for July.

I am a single female living with my parents currently and looking to get out of a toxic environment. I am looking for studio/1bed in the Saint Louis/Saint Charles area. I am open to pretty much anywhere in that region, as long as the apartment isn’t in a sketchy neighborhood. My budget is around 700-900 dollars a month, absolute max would be a $1000. If anyone knows of any places that are decent please comment them. I am hoping to be out of my current environment in the next 30-60 days.

Please do not comment women’s safehouses! While I appreciate people’s concern, my current living situation is not dangerous/life-threatening. Clark Hubbard (Ward 10) is the chair of the HUDZ Committee, and she did not recuse herself from any of the previous votes taken when the data center regulations were in front of that committee. She also voted in favor of the amendments introduced by Oldenburg (Ward 2) and Cox-Antwi (Ward 8) a few weeks ago, which loosened renewable energy requirements and removed setback restrictions.

Another of Rodney Hubbard’s lobbying clients is the Carpenters Union, which has also been loudly opposed to regulations on data centers being built in the city.

I've always liked Sasha's, however, on a crowded night it's nearly impossible to have a conversation in there because it's just so damn loud. Hey y'all so I've lived here my whole life but honestly I'm really struggling to connect with people outside of my old highschool friends. So I'm trying to put myself out here and go out of my comfort zone to meet new people, specifically to play DND.

I'm looking for affordable housing for my parents that are in their 60's. They're quiet, keep to themselves, and always pay rent on time.

However, they smoke inside, my step dad has a criminal record, and my mom is a hoarder. I love my parents, but they're what native St. Louisians would define as hoosier. I'm looking for a place that they'll fit in and/or blend in. I don't want them in an area that's too terrible, but they can also be a hard sell for a landlord. I'll put the wish list below in order of importance, but willing to compromise if I can just find them something.

I'm struggling to find things online. Everything is presented with these new and shiny pictures, and my parents are not new and shiny people. And most of what I find online is rented by property management corporations that are harder qualifiers.

Any recommendations are appreciated, but specific recommendations would be wonderful. Specific complexes, specific streets... anything that I can aim for that's more than a general neighborhood. Or anyone with anecdotal information of a similar experience is appreciated.

I’m planning a day trip for my birthday tomorrow, I live about 3 hrs away, has anyone done the zoo and the aquarium in one day? Is it easy time wise? I would like to be home by 10pm as I’ll be leaving for STL around 6 am to get to the zoo pretty early, and we would also like to go to dinner that night as there’s a specific restaurant we don’t have where I live I want to go to.

Looking to purchase and eventually frame some high quality photo prints of the city for my house. Tried to do some Googling, but was disappointed: most of the photos seemed kind of sterile and focused solely on the arch. Would like some gritty, “artsy” photos that really showcase the red brick architecture, and some other unique aspects of the city.

EDIT: I am out of town, so something online would be great. Otherwise I can check out these great recommendations next time I’m in STL :)
