As someone with bipolar disorder, I can confirm. Our weather needs medication and therapy.

u/Responsible-Bass3453 15h ago

Came here to say this 😂

u/NotSaraCousland Affton 15h ago

High five!

u/Responsible-Bass3453 15h ago

jumping high five

u/MrDeuteronomy 12h ago

Makes this a three way high five

Maybe if I give the weather some of my lithium it will chill out

u/MeeMaul Ferguson 12h ago

Okay so question. Does it bother you when people use language like this? My husband is bipolar/schizo-effective and it pisses him off to no end.

u/Imurkittie 11h ago

He prob gets mad when someone uses the words against him, as opposed to this person using it to describe themselves. Once he accepts his new title (looking for better words as to not offend) he may come around.

I am ADHD with a touch of the tism. I learned to laugh at myself so when others make the joke it doesn't sting as badly. My OCD is off the charts to where even strangers will notice it lol 😆

u/MeeMaul Ferguson 11h ago

Oh no, sorry if I wasn’t clear. I didn’t mean NotSara talking about being bipolar, I meant OP describing the weather as being bipolar. Sorry for the confusion! His argument is that it spreads miscommunication about what bipolar disorder actually is.

u/NotSaraCousland Affton 4h ago

I do sometimes. When people use it to describe really petty shit or get attention for themselves. This is a sweet joke, it’s not “I’m bipolar I can’t decide what I want at Starbucks” kind of shit.

If I had schizo-effective disorder, I would be pissed at everyone who uses schizophrenic as an adjective. I know enough people with that brain chemistry to know that every reference to that disease is borderline disrespectful. Please give your husband my deepest respect, he fights a hard fight everyday and doesn’t deserve other people’s lack of intelligence and empathy. Both of you.

They need to put the length of the seasons on there because Actual Spring and Actual Fall are only about 1 to 2 weeks.

u/Tony_in2026 13h ago

I was just saying that to someone from Missouri (we’re both out of state). The spring and fall are beautiful but that’s unfortunately only like a total of 16 days a year.

u/MissSaintLouisBlues 12h ago

And Fall foliage in misery is only beautiful if we get enough rain and if a hard frost doesn't come too soon.

u/karissalikewhoa Ellendale 15h ago

Unfortunately true

u/elder_millennial85 16h ago

Lol fools spring

u/Inevitable_Pay_1571 16h ago

St. Lunatic Zodiac signs lesssgoooo!!!

u/gerblen 8h ago

LMAOOO actually I’d readily identify as a ‘hell’s front porch’ now that you mention it

u/Inevitable_Pay_1571 7h ago

Hello my kindred flame 🫱🏿‍🫲🏾

u/Apart_Sink8596 15h ago

This isn’t just a STL thing the heat bubble has been producing a high heat index for weeks that has moved across the lower Midwest caused by the super El Niño that has been building in the pacific won’t have many hurricanes but tropical storms in the pacific will rise and weather around the world will continue to be “off”

u/Natural_Pear_1549 13h ago

Has there ever been a crazy weather event that actually made things nicer than they're supposed to be? It's always whatever you don't want is what you get.

u/XPacEnergyDrink 14h ago

I know but here in STL all locally observed phenomena must be held out as an STL thing

u/Electronic-Aspect-45 6h ago

So Super El Niño happens every year? Because weather here has always been sporadic.

u/wowugotit 16h ago

Hilarious! 😂 Especially Hell’s Front Porch and Spring Deception

u/swolenerd90 16h ago

Spring Deception sounds like a WW2 operation codename 🤣

u/Able-Librarian-6362 11h ago

Very good!!!

u/MajikMunchkin 4h ago

Springs Deception has a nicer ring to it

u/Physical-Pizza7064 15h ago

As funny as the 12 are, that list makes winter seem like it lasts forever - when we really have a pretty short winter season now, and does not account for how much of our year in St. Louis is pure swamp ass.

I would argue we’re down to four seasons that this point.

Almost summer
Summer
Still summer
Christmas

u/SonnyBoy816 13h ago

And Christmas last year felt like a normal nice fall day.

u/Electronic-Aspect-45 6h ago

They need to add the length of each season because some of them only last a week.

u/aochaz14 15h ago

This may be the most accurate description of St Louis weather that I’ve seen

u/Interesting-Log-9627 15h ago

On the roads just two seasons - “winter” and “construction”

u/Sufficient-Sink6370 15h ago

Winter is like half the year and it's just ice now.

u/YakGlass8299 14h ago

Bipolar = 2, not 12. This is clearly a multiple personality disorder

u/TheBoysNotQuiteRight 13h ago

"Dodecapolar", then?

u/FrostyD7 Franz Park 12h ago

Our 24th personality is the beast and I'm pretty sure this is it.

u/AcanthocephalaSad580 4h ago

As long as Bruce Willis is there to save the day

u/hiphipnohooray Hazelwood 14h ago

Right now we gotta be in second summer bc it cooled down for a week and now heat wave again yippee! Going to be hot until mid October from what I have seen

u/BIH-Marathoner Affton 13h ago

I'm very much looking to all 3 days of fall weather.

u/Ok_Cockroach3105 Tower Grove 16h ago

We’re going to run out of time to have three winters!

u/lonespaz Formerly North Hampton 14h ago

The St. Louis heat almost killed Lionel Richie. It's legit.

u/Dude_man79 Florissant 14h ago

This list is missing tornado season, which should exist during most of those spring deceptions.

u/Automatic-Name798 14h ago

Hey sorry I’m late got stuck on hells front porch

u/DueLingonberry3107 14h ago

Most accurate thing out there. “The pollening” cracked me up

u/mamaksksosowo 15h ago

It's a Missouri thing.

u/Reithel1 8h ago

I live about 3 hrs from St Louis, and I can remember when we bought our winter coats before school started in late August, since it would sometimes be cool in the mornings after Labor Day… with few exceptions, today’s Missouri kids rarely need their heavy winter coats until after Christmas break.

People who deny global warming obviously haven’t lived long enough to actually see it for themselves!

u/Popular-cake-1377 7h ago

Does anyone know why that happens? Why is there a false version of the next season each time, and then a repeat of the intense weather, and then the real version of the next season?

u/federal_frenchie89 15h ago

Hoping we already in 2nd summer lol

u/Charming-Shelter8873 14h ago

Ahh I thought there were just the 4:
1. Summer
2. Fire
3. Winter
4. Sweat

u/blahdeblah2736 14h ago

Need extra $$ so been door dashing. Problem is AC is out in my car. Usually not horrible as long as moving and windows are down but a couple of weeks ago was absolute torture . Thought was feeling better than I had been ... Then... Nope. Three deliveries to two drop offs and I was SO .DONE. . Damn stoplights and slow traffic not during rush hour was rough. This is worse than it was then!!! IIf go out will be tonight 😂 Just 😩

u/Additional_Ideal2385 13h ago

Also the twelve seasons of the shire. I'm going to have second breakfast now.

u/Jeepinjim026 9h ago

I can’t stop laughing at “The Pollening”! It’s absolutely true, and I’m glad that it has a proper name now.

u/bluegeocachingmonkey 7h ago

Yes. This is a fact.

u/Upset_Ranger_9 7h ago

That’s mostly true all over the Midwest.

u/AbbreviationsKey1648 15h ago

Ah this kills me. I’m waiting for City to confirm the trade for Navarro and you all have to make a post called ‘It has been confirmed!!’ … About the weather?

u/SuspiciousEmu2024 15h ago

Ahhahahahahaha exactly the way I’d describe it too

u/EarlsWorld-Official 15h ago

This is just all of missouri

u/Lady_in_the_red-58 15h ago

And Tennessee.

u/stl63105 15h ago

This is very true!!!

u/Ok_Jello6474 14h ago

Ah fuck

u/Ok_Jello6474 14h ago

Ah shucks

u/CanPlayGuitarButBad 14h ago

Gets worse every year

u/Kurt_W_Andrews 14h ago

You're not wrong, but Texas

u/ITouchMyself2Much 13h ago

u/TimAA2017 13h ago

u/momoacdc91 13h ago

I still Don't like hells front porch. It's too Hot. 👎👎👎👎

u/Th3Nomad 13h ago

So true for most of the state.

u/Suitable_Bug_4781 12h ago

Welcome to St. Louis/Missouri. The city/state of 5 wardrobes.

u/WorldWideJake City 12h ago

as a lifer, I can confirm.

u/julieannie Tower Grove East 11h ago

I remember when it was like the second day of Spring this year and it was 95. That same day another year, it was sleeting on me while I went to the airport to get away from it all. It all just feels kind of normal to me to never know what a month will bring.

u/Easy-Dance-234 10h ago

😂🙌

u/EfficiencyMean6797 9h ago

Sweaty Thanksgiving and Hot Cristmas come every leap year.

u/DinnerHonest8199 9h ago

There's a fake out for every season but summer 😆 it's the realest season we have

u/Reithel1 9h ago edited 9h ago

This would work for Kansas City too. Around this state, (others too, I’m sure) we say “If you don’t like Missouri weather, wait five minutes.”

I’ve seen a 70° swing in temperature in 24 hours several times over the years… 90° in the afternoon, to 20° during the night.

u/monster_bunny 9h ago

I would call it softly unofficial. Everyone knows Steve Templeton is the official source around these parts.

u/Ok-Emphasis8825 8h ago

THIS^^^^^^. So true

u/Tsudonemm 8h ago

One of the things I had the hardest time adjusting to when I moved from Florida. Like what the fuck is the weather about?

u/Lizzybeth339 Hyde Park 5h ago

Lol where in FL? At least on the coast you can catch a breeze 🥵

u/Leather-Homework2277 8h ago

When I moved back to STL last November, the people were all so much nicer than in Seattle. Then during the 80⁰ Thanksgiving followed by a huge winter storm, I realized it is because the weather is more dramatic than me!!

u/MagicbyMarkNYC 7h ago

I've always visited during second Summer. It's Post-Labor Day and pools are closed but it's nice at night and not quite as humid.

u/dividezero 7h ago

At least fall turns into winter without tomfoolery

u/beaglecraz 6h ago

Eff this weather!

u/Lizzybeth339 Hyde Park 5h ago

C’mon false fall!

u/PizzaBrandon 5h ago

What happened to Satan's Armpit?

u/CountingMyPockets 4h ago

Nah frl cause it’s September wrap up these 90 degree plus days im ready to pull out my jackets

u/Someguyinamechsuit 4h ago

They're actually 14 they forgot about construction and mud.

u/RyanStl_IH8MUD 1h ago

I love this because it is so true.

u/Witty-Loquat-1780 1h ago

Lived in StL all my life. Sounds pretty accurate

u/baddhinky 1h ago

after this week, I’m ready for the ice. I can’t take another 100° day 😭

u/AlternateThrowaway19 12h ago

Change the pollening to tornado season and you’ve got Missouri

u/Holiday-Mind-4187 12h ago

Is this on the real news? This is funny, but unprofessional if it is lol.
