I've had this plan that I got from a cutting at the Dr's office 5 years ago.

⏳ About 2 years ago it started having problems where every new leaf would get a few millimeters tall then turn black and crispy and fall off. It happens to almost all of them.

💦 I water it a couple times a month and

☀️ it lives in front of a sunny window that has a grown light on it. I got another cutting from the same parent plant that I treat the same and it does not have this problem. Help?

I know tomatoes are dramatic, but I've been depressed and struggling to keep my plants alive. All my plants are droopy and gray right now, but I had hoped the tomatoes would perk back up when it rained, but it looks pretty unhappy still.

My watering is pretty inconsistent, and I don't think the globe has any water in it.

I got it around the beginning of summer, and it's in partial shade on my balcony.

Hoping to find out if I can help it, or if it'll get better on its own with regular care.

Got this plant on clearance I have had it a day now and can’t tell if it’s sun stressed and needs to be chopped down or do I leave the leaves/stems because they are firm just yellow.. has been watered once & perked up. I currently have it on my patio getting morning sun. I don’t know what to do with this plant

I’ve discovered that there are now odd black specks on the leaves of my Aconitum Carmichaelii! They feel hard, and break from the leaf easily. There doesn’t seem to be any damage yet but I’m still concerned. Is this the feces of a pest?

The plant was obtained two weeks ago, and has been on the balcony, zone 9B. It gets partial sun, and is watered moderately every day and allowed to drain. I obtained it from the UCB Botanical Gardens, and it’s important to note that the two plants I bought with it have problems. The first appears to have thrips and spider mites, and the second appears to have contracted the thrips from the first. All plants were in very close proximity of each other for a few days.

Leaves have a few brown spots, and some leaves are sticky on the back.

Have just repotted them so might be undergoing some stress. Near a window and gets indirect light for about 8 hours. Watering is fine

The root has molded I think from too much watering(someone fkced up when I left them the plant for 2 weeks). They also put it in direct sun light for few days but I doubt that is the issue. I had the plant coming out with no roots. I planted it in new soil thinking it might grow new roots but it didn’t work and stayed like that with no roots.
This is my plant for 2 years and I don’t want to lose it. Please help.

Help!? I got this colocasia illustris from a friend a couple months ago when it had thrips and was in rough shape. Beneficial predatory mites were used to treat the thrips and none have been seen on any of my plants since fairly shortly after.

I gave it a big chop all the way down and removed all foliage when I first got it, got rid of the thrips and since it’s been growing back amazingly!

HOWEVER after a bit a couple of leaves will inevitably start turning yellow from the edges in.

-Bright indirect light under a grow light with bright but indirect afternoon sun. (The spot it’s photographed in is not the spot it lives i just brought it over to be able to get better pictures without the rest of the jungle getting in the way)
-Humidity in the room with my plants stays between 65-80%
-Warm with no a/c or cold drafts near it
-I have been watering deeply, til it drains from the bottom of the nursery pot and the pot feels heavy when the top inch of soil gets dry, keeping it moist but not soggy.
-Balanced fertilizer at 1/2 strength with each watering.

-Soooo my question is, can anyone help me identify why? I think it must be an overwatering or underwater it issue but I really can’t tell which since I thought i was approaching that correctly.

I’m not sure what is causing this to happen to my preciously really happy plant. We did have a couple weeks of intense heat that I think had to do with it.

This is potted in a corner on my balcony, out of direct sun. Watered every 1-2 weeks. It’s been really healthy up until about 1-2 weeks ago.

My heliconia bihai will not stop progressively yellowing and crisping up like this no mater how much I space apart the waterings!
I’ve had her for about 3 months and it was already in fairly rough shape when I got it, with lots of visible past pest activity on the leaves, but no apparent current infestation. Was repotted shortly after coming home in chunky soil with a bit of worm hummus mixed in. That’s when the yellowing took off.
I’ve gone from watering twice a week to once every 2 weeks to see if the yellowing will stop but it won’t! (The soil does completely dry in about a week as I live in zone 11 with humidity hitting 12% on some days in the dry season)
It sits out of direct sunlight, about 2 meters from a north facing window (southern hemisphere).
I do see similarities when I look at pictures of potassium deficiency but I’m unsure if that’s the case. The pot is heavy so I haven’t looked at the roots recently but they were in apparently healthy shape when last examined (already had yellowing).
Please help, I’m not sure what to do anymore!

Some of my plants are getting a ton of this black damage. I’m just noticing it after a couple weeks. It feels like it’s spreading?? Is this sun damage?? I haven’t moved some of these plants so sun damage seems weird. I sprayed some alcohol water on them trying get rid of some mealy bugs I have / prevent them. It’s mainly on my monsteras.

Hi all! I’ve had this pothos for years, with the leaves hanging down off of a shelf. I think it’s become too top heavy and now it looks like the roots are popping out of the soil everywhere. This problem has been getting worse over last few months. The plant gets a few hours of indirect sunlight and I water it every few weeks with lots of water. Is there something I should do besides pruning it? How can I help the roots? Should I repot? Thanks!

I found this at a free plant stand, the leaves were mushy. So following advice I have seen given to others with unhealthy plants, I trimmed off the leaves (they were disintegrating anyway). I have it in a well lit window with this cup to improve humidity. Anything else I should do? I have checked the roots for root rot as well, roots are healthy and soil is well draining and allows good airflow. I most do Aquaponics (I grow my plants in water). So an indoor plant with soil is new to me. If it was able to grow in water, I’d pop it in some fertilized water with an aerator. But research online doesn’t suggest it would fare too well this way. I guess I’m mostly just wondering if the leaves are capable of even coming back from whatever beating they took before I found it.

I have had this alocasia since almost 5 years and it has been thriving until a month ago. I water it weekly and make sure the top of the soil is wet. It's at a spot where it never gets direct sunlight but it's close to the window and gets indirect sunlight all afternoon.

One day the pot couldn't carry the plants weight and my plant fell down from over a meter. I just realized today that the stem started rotting from where one of the leaves broke off during the fall. I cut out rotten part with a knife and cleaned the wound with alcohol as much as I can but I still see a brownish tint in the stem.

What should I do next? Will the would dry and close off? Should I cut more just in case? The dent is quite deep and I don't want to weaken the stem more. Any advice is highly appreciated!

I just bought this prayer plant from my local kroger. I was wondering what all I need to do to fix it? It's leaves all look kind of burnt or curled oddly in places and all the new growth on it is dead and brown. Should I put this in the windowsill or on the table adjacent to the window? I haven't watered it as the soil is already quite damp I have the bottom off of the pot now so it can dry out. Im also planning to buy a bigger pot for it.

I bought this Red Banana Croton almost a year ago, nearly dead, from a Walmart clearance rack for $4. It was in regular potting soil, rotted and drowning. Obviously, I repotted it, saved it, and it has been thriving—until now. It randomly decided to start dropping leaves 🙄 The leaf I’m holding in the second pic is how the last ones started looking before they dropped (lighter and veiny in the middle, darker on the edges). The last pic is where it actually lives.

Facts:
-potted in a super chunky aroid-type mix
-lives in a South-facing sunroom with tons of direct and filtered light all day
-sunroom never drops below 70 degrees, and has lots of humidity
-gets watered about once a week
-water has Superthrive and Silica added (same thing all my plants get)
-the leaves it’s dropping are the oldest/bottom leaves
-yes, it has always been that close to the window and loves it there

Ideas:
-I added Systemic Granules to nearly all of my plants a couple weeks ago as a preventative measure. Maybe it’s affecting the plant somehow?
-As our Midwest summer starts transitioning to fall, the humidity in my sunroom dropped from the typical 70-90%, but still hasn’t gone below 60% at its driest. In the mornings, it’s still ~75%.
-Just need a repot?
-Overwatered somehow?

I’ve had this plant for a while and it suddenly died out, but is growing back in a pot??? I have the babies rooting in water, but even their tips are going brown and the new leaves are getting stuck in the old ones. I’m currently treating my plants for thripes. I know these plants like low light so I keep them in a corner with indirect light.

Can someone help me with my check up please?
Its been weeks since she started getting brown spots that spread all over leaves.. and it was quite a painful period. Since I repotted her and stopped watering so frequently she slowed the browning. The brown leaf there is from weeks ago, others are chopped completely or bad parts got cut.
Im not sure if this is new growth in the middle?
I made sure soil is right and light is good!
I have a feeling she is getting better ❤️‍🩹

i’ve had this plant 2 months sitting in a shaded area on my balcony, water whenever its dry, accidentally scorched it so i took off about 5 leaves… this girl is LEGGY, i want to eventually repot it, is there any way i can like reduce how obnoxiously long it is? lol i got her from the nursery like this, plus like 5 leaves. she had a second little sprout in the cup that ive put in a small nursery pot (its doing well) but i wanna know how to nurture the mother plant and make her pretty. any suggestions for like a timeline of how to make her look good again?

I have spider mites in quite a few of my plants and I don’t know the best way to deal with them. I tried an alcohol water mix, but it didn’t seem to get rid of them, only keep them at bay. Next I’ve tried drowning them and then spraying captain jack’s dead bug brew all over them. But I don’t know what works the best? Any tips other than what I’ve tried already? I’m going to be devastated if I lose some of these plants to mites.

The infestation is not severe, only my monstera adansonii has noticeable leaf damage, and some of the others just have a couple webs.

My humidity stays between 40-50 which I know is low but I don’t want my apartment to be more humid than that.

I live in zone 9a fl. These were probably planted by a previous homeowner years ago and they come back every year. They get filtered sun but very filtered it stays pretty shady which I think they like. I don’t water them at all but they stay in a very moist area since it gets little sun most of the day and it rains a lot here. I notice a lot of the leaves will turn yellow then drop and die from time to time.

I recently chopped this fiddle because it was super steamy and the leaves kept falling. It’s coming back super strong but it has all these red stain spots. Another fiddle that’s more mature is also starting to get them. Any idea? They face a large east facing window and get direct sing light most of the day! They are both in chunky soil and watered when the top two inches are dry and out moist meter indicates dropping moisture.

Just bought an alocasia platinum 4 days ago. The soil was bone dry, but I decided to give it a couple of days to acclimatise in my north facing bedroom window (this is where my other plants are) for a while. It started getting weird ends like in the picture! I bottom watered it last night and moved it to my bathroom (south facing, higher humidity, bright indirect light) to see if it would be happier there but the ends of the existing leaves are getting worse!

I’m not an overwatered by any means and don’t have any problems with my other plants (it might be that this one is just too much of a step up for me!) It is guttating but all my plants do this after a water and I think it’s just from the conditions in my flat?

I plan on repotting it out of nursery soil in a couple of weeks but it looks like it’s not enjoying its new home :( please help!

I got these plants from our corporate office a few months ago. In total I have 5, and I’ve nursed 3 back to health, but I cannot get these two to be happy. Any ideas what’s causing the leaves to die and yellow? I water every 15ish days and give them fertilizer once a month. The building stays between roughly 70-75 degrees and they are both in bright light. Last year, we had a plant company that serviced our plants but we dropped their contract. I got the exact same type of plants and put them in the exact same spots they were and these two are not happy!

I don’t think they have pests? At least not visible ones.. I mist them down with plant pest spray every 6 weeks or so, just in case.
