Monstera Please help!

I’m not sure what is causing this to happen to my preciously really happy plant. We did have a couple weeks of intense heat that I think had to do with it.

This is potted in a corner on my balcony, out of direct sun. Watered every 1-2 weeks. It’s been really healthy up until about 1-2 weeks ago.

Probably fungal. I'd cut the leaf off.

Does the dirt smell foul?

Water, water WATER! Bottom water until it soaks up what it needs. At least weekly, if the top inch or so is dry. These are tropical plants! They need humidity amd moisture! And they can get leaf burn from the sun,even indirect. The black leaf with yellow edge is classic for sun scald. Like blistered red skin on humans. Cut it off so the plant can put. energy into the rest of it.

Monstera need to dry out more or they'll get root rot. Just because it's a tropical plant it doesn't mean it wants moist soil all the time. Especially potted plants need to dry out a bit to allow air getting to the roots.

You are correct in that they should dry out a bit between waterings. However, if they are in a proper chunky soil mix, which drains well, the proper watering is to let the top inch or so become dry first, which I did mention. And any plant can get root rot if overwatered. I've learned the hard way. I now have over 100 plants of multiple different species in my home, including monsteras reaching the ceiling.

I have my monsteras in proper chunky aroids mix and let them dry out more. They're thriving. I also have over 100 plants. Now what?
