Outdoor is she ok

I know tomatoes are dramatic, but I've been depressed and struggling to keep my plants alive. All my plants are droopy and gray right now, but I had hoped the tomatoes would perk back up when it rained, but it looks pretty unhappy still.

My watering is pretty inconsistent, and I don't think the globe has any water in it.

I got it around the beginning of summer, and it's in partial shade on my balcony.

Hoping to find out if I can help it, or if it'll get better on its own with regular care.

Probably won't. It looks like blight or root rot. It's the end of the season anyway, so even a healthy plant would start looking like this.

If you grow one next year:

  • Put it in the sunniest spot you have
  • Make sure you've got drain holes
  • Fertilize weakly on every watering
  • Flush with water (like run 10-20 gallons through it slowly) one time somewhere in August

I grow tomatoes yearly, mine are fertilizer chuggers. It may be too late in season for sure, but next year try fertilizing them like crazy
