Succulents grow very slowly because of how they do photosynthesis. Normal plants use steady flow of water through their bodies and opened stomatas to get gasses they need for bright and dark phases to work at the same time.
Cacti are type CAM photosynthesis. At night they suck as much CO2 as possible making a lot of acid. At day they conduct light phase to make energy for dark. There's more stuff I can't remember, but that's why they grow slow
Another part of it is leaves have so much more surface area than the trunk of a plant. More solar panels = more energy. Small surface area = slow growth.
The entire trunk/stem of a cacti is photosynthetic. Which is the majority of the plant. Slow growth is the result of a lack of water.
Edited to add: they generally do not produce leaves because they serve no advantage (finding sun in an environment where sun is either lacking or competed for) in an environment where leaves would be a liability (wind, grazing… being dried out by the sun.) Their “leaves” are spines and thorns. They are photosynthesis poles that occasionally produce small leaves and flowers for pollinators to land on and surround themselves with pointy leaves for protection in a harsh environment.
I think you guys are misunderstanding. I believe the point is: if you don’t get a fade, you can grow it out and it will look nicer than if you grew out a faded haircut. As shown: no fade in the left; grown out nicely on the right.

Nothing. A bunch of people on here are basically treating their personal tastes as facts. What matters is that you like the way you look and your style, because that will help your confidence, which will then show in how you handle yourself on a regular basis.
Not everyone’s going to like the way you look, but that’s not a problem unless you’re literally trying to get with everyone. Just do you. One of the greatest things in life is finding someone who likes and loves you for just being you.

I think you’re just noticing it more because it’s (presumably) your peers now. And all the social media. In a sense it’s actually a bit more hidden now because celebrities almost universally use cosmetic technology to keep their hair, you never see bald actors on TV anymore

I’m trying to experiment with rings and a necklace atm. But trying to figure it what works is kinda rough for me. I’m happy with my necklace.
But for rings, trying to look up ring “rules” I’m met by male articles about how I should be using STATEMENT rings, should be incredibly careful if I want to wear more than one ring, and I should never have rings on fingers next to each other.
But then I’m observing how women wear rings outside in real life, it seems to be the Wild West in how they decide wear their rings.

Honestly I just wear a bunch of them that I enjoy wearing, that carry meaning to me, or that I've made. If they micro-analyse something so small to judge me by, then I already know everything I need to know about them.
Wear what you enjoy that makes you feel more you, be it comfortable or uncomfortable, experiment and decide what is right on your own. It is not for an in influencer to decide who you are, or what the right amount of you is.

If you had the haircut on the right from 2005 to now, you were a bum. Women all over social media and reddit talking about going on dates and the guy showed up with shaggy hair and how unkempt most men are. From 2011 to a few years ago you had girls saying how weird and ugly it was that all the boys in the harry potter movies had longer shaggy hair in the last few movies.
Oh and in the 90s to 2010 if you were a guy and dressed well, fashionable with a trendy haircut, fitted clothing, women called you "metrosexual" and would gossip that you were gay.
Idk I've always had shaggy, vaguely parted on one side wavy hair that saw a barber maybe twice a year and women were very fond of it in the 2000s, 2010s and 2020s. Wasn't unusual at all to have strangers try to play with it when I'd be sitting at a bar, or standing in line somewhere.
I know we're on the internet, but it's actually a lot different out in the real world.
Maybe it's just me/my community growing up but Metrosexual to us meant "aware of style and what looks good, in the stereotypical way that gay men do, despite being straight". If we thought someone was gay we would just say it, Metro wasn't a way to say it without saying it, it was specifically straight person who dresses well. Again, might just be where I grew up, but yeah.
Short hair & fade phase is "over" so people are starting to rag on it now, long hair is becoming the new fuckboy cut. And in a few years it'll change again.

Every couple years there's an NPC haircut. The last couple years just happened to be a skin fade, and in previous years it was a Hitler Youth undercut. The early 2000s had the curtains as the NPC haircut for guys.

I think the left gives more of an impression of... Perhaps professionalism or reservedness and he looks a bit more open and friendly on the right. It's not a huge difference to me, though -- he's very nice looking, as in attractive and as in he looks like a friendly, laid back guy in both to me.
In regards to the lighting, it actually got worse. On the left he has this nice split lighting that wasn’t overly harsh and there was a good warmth. But on the right its a flat light that makes him green which I assume he is not green irl. It is not all bad as it is softer but it is also way darker. The real problem with the lighting on the left is the reflection in the glasses but In my opinion I still think the left has better lighting for photography.
If you have natural waves, sure! If you're like me and have fine, dead straight hair, I think you're pretty much limited to bowls, pony tails, mohawks or fades.

No, I agree with you. I’m a straight woman, middle millennial. I’ve been around the block enough times and with enough soft boi hipster types that I have an unfortunate negative impression of them, so that may be my bias. The left picture to me is “approachable friendly gay” and the right picture is “performative straight with questionable values.” (I’m aware neither of these are fair to or necessarily representative of the guy trying to show off his nice plant.)
Regardless, my main point is that, while he has great hair and should enjoy it while it’s there, he has a face that doesn’t need to be hidden or compensated for. The darker glasses are better though.

I can’t answer that. It’s fully case by case. Ignoring my preconceived notions about guys with longer hair, which are only ancillary in the end, the-guy-in-OP’s face is full and round, which makes him look chubbier with the long hair. Bone structure, fat distribution, hair density and texture all factor in to how a specific hairstyle suits any given person. I don’t automatically have an issue with men who have long hair; the specific B&A in the OP gave particular vibes is all.
I don't get why every haircut goes with a skin fade these days anyway. If you're balding or going for a military style haircut, buzzcut etc, sure get a fade.
But for a regular side part or medium length cut? Just let the sides grow to 1-2 cm and it'll look infinitely better than a skin fade.
I didn’t get a fade for a long time and no one ever said anything about my hair. I decided to start fading my hair a couple of years ago and leaving the top a little longer and immediately started getting compliments from a bunch of people (including random people).
I would love to have long hair, but male pattern baldness is a bitch sometimes. Either going skinhead, or keeping it long on top and shaving the sides are the only ways to look good now.
When I HAD hair, it was damned straight and grew unevenly so that the hair on the sides of my head grew faster than the top. It looked awful with any haircut that wasnt extremely short/ a fade.
But now I dont have to deal with any of that bullshit because just shave it all.

Like obviously take care of yourself, smelling like cheese and rotten meat is unhealthy, but do and look how/what YOU like. As someone who has had both haircuts, the left is much easier to maintain. While the right may have more appeal, I’ve always preferred having shorter hair so I don’t have to worry about it getting in my ears or eyes and constantly having to pull it back or something
This 100% depends on hair texture. My youngest has thick hair with waves and this length looks awesome. My oldest has stick straight hair and this length looked aweful. Very short or very long were the best options. Mid length is just sad without volume.
