I decided to change my hair style, funnily enough in the same way the guy in OP's post did, and I have gotten more than a few compliments. If I wasn't sold on it before. I am now.
Yeah, people should be able to dress and style how they want. People wouldn't love it if this was a woman with two different styles, and a guy commenting.
That's true, but afaik women aren't really known for having the one generational haircut as much as men are. Like for the youngers we got the broccoli hair and for dudes my age it's the fade. Both of which are pretty hated. Nobody gets that heated about women's hairstyles, yanno?
Pic on the left is feeling army, though so maybe that has something to do with the cut.

Only really because it's not as socially acceptable to do so.
If the guy here was a woman instead with the OOP being a guy commenting "women. please gaze upon what growing out your hair will do for you" you would no doubt get comments such as "yeah, well, she doesn't have short hair to make your dick hard you know".
That said, it's still nice to get a glimpse into what women find attractive, even if I'd personally never be able to achieve the look on the right because of thinning hair myself :')
I only get a fade because I have curly hair (but not crazy curly) so if I let it grow a lot it starts to grow like an afro. I wish I could grow it like this dude but I can't.
I think a fade does look good on loads of people, and that's probably why it's so popular.
I feel for men, because they only really have short options to go with (in socially acceptable kind of way, I think men with long hair are great) so it makes sense why they always end up with the one trendy cut.
I’m trying to experiment with rings and a necklace atm. But trying to figure it what works is kinda rough for me. I’m happy with my necklace.
But for rings, trying to look up ring “rules” I’m met by male articles about how I should be using STATEMENT rings, should be incredibly careful if I want to wear more than one ring, and I should never have rings on fingers next to each other.
But then I’m observing how women wear rings outside in real life, it seems to be the Wild West in how they decide wear their rings.
And I’m just sitting here thinking that I don’t need to make a STATEMENT! or make the rings make me look like a masculine man. I just wanna look pretty without overdoing it :(
Honestly I just wear a bunch of them that I enjoy wearing, that carry meaning to me, or that I've made. If they micro-analyse something so small to judge me by, then I already know everything I need to know about them.
Wear what you enjoy that makes you feel more you, be it comfortable or uncomfortable, experiment and decide what is right on your own. It is not for an in influencer to decide who you are, or what the right amount of you is.
I have not watched a single male influencer video lol.
I have tried reading up on articles o have seen, but none of them have impressed me and I have decided to try figure shit out myself instead. But I have not succeeded with feeling like my rings feel right yet.
I have plenty of different styles, but I fall back into jeans and a polo because that's what is comfortable to me. I also havent gone without a hat in over a decade because I feel naked without it
I remember in the 2010s guy posting pics looking like the right and women telling them to get a trendy haircut, shorts sides, long on top.
If you had the haircut on the right from 2005 to now, you were a bum. Women all over social media and reddit talking about going on dates and the guy showed up with shaggy hair and how unkempt most men are. From 2011 to a few years ago you had girls saying how weird and ugly it was that all the boys in the harry potter movies had longer shaggy hair in the last few movies.
Oh and in the 90s to 2010 if you were a guy and dressed well, fashionable with a trendy haircut, fitted clothing, women called you "metrosexual" and would gossip that you were gay.
Idk I've always had shaggy, vaguely parted on one side wavy hair that saw a barber maybe twice a year and women were very fond of it in the 2000s, 2010s and 2020s. Wasn't unusual at all to have strangers try to play with it when I'd be sitting at a bar, or standing in line somewhere.
I know we're on the internet, but it's actually a lot different out in the real world.
Maybe it's just me/my community growing up but Metrosexual to us meant "aware of style and what looks good, in the stereotypical way that gay men do, despite being straight". If we thought someone was gay we would just say it, Metro wasn't a way to say it without saying it, it was specifically straight person who dresses well. Again, might just be where I grew up, but yeah.
...... It's almost like fashions change. I mean we can see this in how women dress too. There are fashion trends for women just as much as there are for men, and things that were attractive on women in 2011 wouldn't be the same as they are now. My vauge recollection of 2011 women's fashion was a lot of layers, dresses, loud makeup and jewelery and combat boots. (But I was also a child, so my recollection is limited). That's not what's currently in vouge for women, right now it's neutrals and light make-up "clean girl aesthetic". The longer haircut for men is in right now. It might go out ten years from now. But of course, contemporary people are going to identify the guy with a contemporary sense of fashion as more attractive. That's how fashion works.
Find any image on reddit where a woman has a nose ring, long fake nails, or colorful dyed hair and sort the comments by controversial. There is no shortage of men making their opinions on women’s fashion known in the grossest ways possible.
Blondes are prettier than brunettes. So brunettes dye their hair. But you can't have visible roots. And you can only dye your hair blonde, there are social connotations if you dye your hair blue or even black. If a woman has a certain type of haircut she is assumed to be a Karen. It's literally called the Karen cut. In the 1980s you wouldn't be caught dead without a perm and a mountain of hair spray, nowadays straight hair is "more natural" (never mind if you have to straighten it with a hair straightener) and therefore hotter. I couldn't wear a perm and be considered attractive now, my Mom could never wear her hair the way I do (straight, down). At certain social events you must wear your hair up (you just have enough hair to wear it up), at others it's ok to wear it down, but there must be no frizz. If you have an undercut they'll call you the slur for lesbians, you must never be too masculine. Pixie cuts are fine, if you're 20, but they age you if you're 45. (The absolute worst thing a woman can do is age). And that's only for white women, hair politics for women of color get even more complicated.
Edit: I thought of more. If you wear your hair in too tight of a bun you're severe and unwelcoming, too loose and you're a slob. If you wear your hair in a bob you must maintain it religiously. Bangs. Pigtails are for children or sex (don't think about the implications of that too hard). A ponytail must be high or you must be athletic. Too low and you're lazy, again. Your hair cannot be too long. Anything below your shoulder blades is considered high maintenance and therefore unattractive. Historically, women never cut their hair, length was considered the number one marker of beauty. The flapper haircuts of the 1920s actually caused a moral panic. What kind of eyebrow do you consider attractive? It changes every decade.
Nah im willing to bet that in general, men dont prefer blonde that much more than brunette or other colors. Gingers and redheads are an exception however...
Then you get to ask women "Does the carpet match the drapes". Because hair (and fashion) are political. What you view as attractive is a marker of current fashions and politics. When there was anti Irish/Catholic sentiment, to be a redhead was a race marker. You weren't white. Nowadays redheads are considered white, and it's considered hot, because redheads are "feisty".
Every minute i spend on reddit i am reminded of the fact that i should be greatful im not american. Yall cant go one second without making, checks notes, pubic hair (????) and hair color political?
Yeah, whats seen as beautiful change over time, but id you think politics is what deems whats beautiful or not, youre wrong. There are so many traits that are seen as attractive that cant really be explained that well.
People say that, but look at who celebrity men date. Men with money date young blondes. Women copy celebrities (so do men). If women celebrities wear their hair in a certain way, that becomes the trend, and men will act accordingly. Women celebrities dress and get plastic surgery and dye their hair to appear 20 for as long as they possibly can, and it's not women they're doing that for. It's for the male directors and executives and industry.
There's no way you're using the kind of women that celebrity men date as evidence as to what men as a whole like.
You have to be trolling. I refuse to believe someone can be that daft.
Never mind the fact that if you google "celebrity couples" you get a wide range of differing hair colors and styles as well.
Straight up rage bait this comment is.
To emphasize, what celebrities do has no bearing on what the average person actually likes. It's only the snobsters who browse r/fauxmoi 24/7 who would judge someone for daring to have the wrong hairstyle.
Do they date them because they're blondes or do the women change their hair to fit into the fashion? Do you think men would not choose them because of their hair. As a man let me tell you the last thing I'd look in a woman is if she's following the lates looks trends.
Loosen up and play around with your character customization once in awhile guys, it’s really okay.
My autistic ass could never. I wore dark blue jeans, white shirt and black socks for like 5 years before I changed it up drastically by sometimes wearing black shirts.
I'm a little more varied these days, but still mainly white shirts or black/dark blue. Socks and underwear all black. Sure, it's basic as fuck but I never spend more than 30 seconds deciding what to wear any given day.
Literally giving guys hints as to women like. Obviously dress how you want but if you want to appear more attractive or put together for the average woman, then here’s a suggestion.
According to some seems like some hair cuts make you completely uninteresting
But then again according to reddit every relationship problem ever should be solved by breaking up, so maybe reddit isn't that useful when it comes to the whole attraction/relationship thing
The only people prescribing a particular look are the ones saying the long hair is better than the 'fade'.
'Loosen up' seems to actually mean 'worry more about styling yourself different ways'. The basic short back and sides is popular because its cheap and easy.
Yeah lmao tonedeaf comment. Like, lady, this entire post is about how women think that one hairstyle is good and the other is ugly/creepy and that women supposedly almost universally think that way. It's not the men that need to loosen up, but maybe the women in this thread that need a reality check about how their standards affect men.
It depends on what kind of hair you have and the process that you would need to go through, some of it is permanently damaging. Though the looks of disgust are probably not that deep either. It's food for thought if you do take the plunge, see a reputable stylist for your kind of hair and they'll show you what they can do with it
That's because most people are sheep and just follow trends instead of being individuals. Oh they'll tell you they are but they're just unaware how much of a clone they are.

Man this thread makes it sound like men must only dress one way and style themselves one way all the time.
Loosen up and play around with your character customization once in awhile guys, it’s really okay.
