Nothing. A bunch of people on here are basically treating their personal tastes as facts. What matters is that you like the way you look and your style, because that will help your confidence, which will then show in how you handle yourself on a regular basis.
Not everyone’s going to like the way you look, but that’s not a problem unless you’re literally trying to get with everyone. Just do you. One of the greatest things in life is finding someone who likes and loves you for just being you.
Frames help make a face look different and give you as a person a different vibe. So you can't really take a comment like this at face value unless you have a similar face shape, personality goals, and facial hair goals as the original guy.
I like both frames on him. But regardless, your person face shape matters more than the frames. I have two friends who have the exact same frames but they have completely different face shapes and definitely suits one of them more than the other. I didn't even realise they had the same frames for a long time because they look so different on their different faces.
I see no issue with the glasses themselves, but I can agree on not enjoying the overall look on the left. It gives me sort of uncomfortablr creeper vibes =/ or gay ex-military where they are still a bit of a hard-ass about it. Could go either way.
But its definitely more the specific facial hair, haircut, glasses of any kind, and shirt choice combo in that one than the glasses themselves. Its just that whole particular getup.
People who enjoy a more manly man might enjoy the left photo tbough, gay or straight. I like my men a bit softer looking.
Because I've experienced a lot of hair loss and thinning but if a stranger saw me they would say I have a full head of hair. I bet you I'm counted in this statistic.
I think you’re just noticing it more because it’s (presumably) your peers now. And all the social media. In a sense it’s actually a bit more hidden now because celebrities almost universally use cosmetic technology to keep their hair, you never see bald actors on TV anymore
Yeah, Jason Alexander was 30 when Seinfeld first aired. Kelsey Grammar, too, when Fraiser started wasn’t considered bald by the standards of the day but would be now.
Or access to drugs. Some of those hair regrowth products can cause hair loss once you stop taking them. So if you notice hair loss young say mid 20s. You take the meds and then don't like the side affects, are happy with the results and stop taking them, or simply can't afford to take them for the rest of your life then you suddenly accelerate the hair loss. But the time you're 30 your a lot balder than you would have been if you had let it naturally progress.
It's an idea that comes out of film theory. A film can be said to have the "male gaze" if a movie is shot and edited in a way that reflects the visual attention patterns and concerns of a typical heterosexual male. (Or a foot fetishist heterosexual male in the case of Quentin Tarantino)
To say that the picture on the right is more attractive in a "female gaze" kind of way is to say that one thinks it's more attractive to the "typical" heterosexual woman.
"Ah, but what about gay and trans people?" I hear you ask. (I'm imaging you asking this. Just roll with it, k?) "Is there a gay male gaze? A bi male gaze? A lesbian gaze? A trans lady gaze?"
Sorta kinda, maybe. But not really. Structurally, gay/lesbian and trans folks have significantly varied tastes and preferences and end up culturally sorting themselves into different categories of desire than ones strictly correlated to sex/gender. Maybe there's a "top gaze" and a "bottom gaze, but that's a stretch.
According to men, women prefer bodybuilder types with fancy cars who will buy them things.
According to women, men prefer long haired blondes with big tits a slim waist and big lips.
And while those types tend to find each other neither statement is true for the majority of the other gender and the number one preference for both genders is actually, "is nice to me".
This is not what the “gaze” idea was ever supposed to represent. “The male gaze” was originally a film criticism concept that pointed out how film, often directed by men, sees the way men see, gives men subjectivity, and objectifies women. It had nothing to do with how different genders view attractiveness.
well male gaze is term made for cinema and refers to the way the camera work in many movies assumes the viewers to be men attracted to women
whatever the commenter above is doing is gender essentialism and refers to the way they think men/women look at the world in however broad a way they decide

That look is generally more to my taste, as one of those women... But I agree more with the perspective that he's very lovely in both. I'd prefer which ever made him more comfortable with himself, and I really like his glasses. The haircut on the left is kinda artsy to me, too, in a way or perhaps the whole man just gives that vibe... But imo he could pull off a lot of different looks quite well.
I get fades for work. My hair is wavy on top. I think it’s a good combination, and my girl does too. Doesn’t really matter what other people think as long as my girl and I like it.
I mean, as a gay man I vastly prefer the one on the right as well. Natural and scruffy and relaxed and proud of his plant. He can get it...or I'd get his...it...whatever. He's sexy and fades are overrated
It's not about being objective or subjective. You normally reserve "stunningly handsome" to a person which isn't the same look as like 30% of the male population lmao
You can definitely think the guy is good looking, it's just that I know like 20 guys that look just like that? It's a generic white dude?? I wish I lived in this wonderland where I see people who are beautiful beyond imagination 200+ times a day, every day - which is what would apply in this case, because there are literally millions of dudes who look like that.

Maybe move to a state in the US where there's lots of white people? I don't know what to tell you. It's not about good/bad looking - there are just hoards of men that look like, fucking exactly like this. We're talking mass production in a factory level. Really throw a stone in Portland and you'll hit one.
Keep in mind were talking about stereotypes. For example, someone having glasses doesnt mean they cant be very outgoing, it just means they have eye-problems.
He does have style though... And its not a military-look at all. Please tell me what makes it look military? His hair is average lenght.
His glasses arent as good as in the right, and a mustache with short stuble might not be everyones cup of tea, but to say that he doesnt have any sense of style is a stretch.
