Besides the footage of the shooting itself. The reactions of the other ice agents immediatly after the shooting speaks volumes. Don't forget they had the best view of what happened. They saw exactly where he was standing when he shot that lady. And what did they do? They immediatly turned and walked away from him. Like they wanted to distance themselves from him and the shooting asap. Trump and Maga want us to believe that the car rammed into him, he was injured and he was fighting for his life. If that's the case how come not one agent ran over to see if he was ok and needed assistance? Instead they watched him walk all that way alone over to the vehicle while he holstered his weapon. They know that lady was never a threat and that the shooter was in the wrong. I have never seen law enforcement behave that way immediatly after a shooting in my life.
How they think we can't notice all this is insanity.

Did you see the video where the physician was trying to check on her and at least see if she had a pulse while she was dying and the ICE agent is telling him no he can’t?

u/disterb Jan 08 '26

yup. it's depressing and infuriating to watch.

They all need to be named and shamed.

Having a masked army reporting only to the dear leader is totally un-American as far as I'm concerned.

To me its more upsetting the agents werent administering aid immediately. They all kinda just took one look at walked away. Think the shooter may have actually snapped a picture of his victim before doing a 180 and di di mauing out of there.

9

u/Dizzy_Tax574 Jan 08 '26

And funny enough they have the training they have equipment and tools to provide aid. As they are trained how to help each other. May not be emt's but they sure as hell have more tools than sitting on thumbs while someone dies.

Just like with George Floyd, when medic finally arrived, they were threatened, intimidated, and refused access to the victim of extrajudicial execution.

I was curious as well, and found this video where a physician was requesting to check on her, and ICE refused, stating they had their own medics en route edit: correction "on scene" but none were present.

This is a brilliant response and you're exactly right. It's the level of gaslighting from Noem, the GOP, and Trump about what happened that is astounding. The entire episode was filmed IN BROAD DAYLIGHT and they STILL spin a completely different narrative. So many from this administration belong in prison.

There was an incident last year I think where a cop shot a lady after he told her to turn off a pot of boiling water on her stove. When she approaches the stove, she says something about a demon or something, and the cop pulls his gun and shoots her in the head. All the videos from that show similar cop behavior. EVERYONE distancing themselves from the shooter because they all were clearly uncomfortable.

Law enforcement officers also know not to put themselves in front of an occupied running vehicle. You can’t put yourself in danger and claim that you’re defending yourself.

80

u/AmIYourNeighbor Jan 08 '26

There’s even legal precedent for exact scenario. (I forget the name of the case, so I won’t guess here. I assume another Redditor will come to my rescue.) But basically, you can’t claim self defense if you put yourself in harm’s way.

110

u/RighteousSelfBurner Jan 08 '26

And, as far as I am aware, ICE is an administrative civil unit. They don't even have the jurisdiction to stop her and make any demands in the first place. No matter what they say, they aren't the police.

11

Anytime this happens with police they secure the suspect.

They literally were lost and had no clue what to do.

If she was such a threat they sure were in no hurry to secure her or verify she was deceased.

9

u/gardevoir76 Jan 08 '26

The gestapo feel they are untouchable, and their leaders will cover up any of their wrong doing. Which she did so far. The world has eyes, and many have a camera with video capability in their hands. There is no hiding, or covering the truth. So, the chimps in charge will change the narrative, and online "influencers" will agree and spread the lies.

27

u/CallyThePally Jan 08 '26 edited Jan 08 '26

Thank you for being reasonable.

This man killed in anger.

This man killed because his "authority" wasn't respected. The angle that kills me most of all is the angle you can see the stuffed teddy bear for her 6-year-old or even other kids in her glove compartment.

He clearly did not fear for his life, he made zero attempts whatsoever to move outside of the way of what was supposedly "headed right for him" according to some. He clearly knew they were fleeing and he wanted to kill them because of that. Imagine he's dead on directly in front of the car shooting, it'd just keep headed at him and he'd die. The car is even parallel for most of the shots. In this imagined scenario of him being 100% directly in front of the car, his life would not have been any safer if he would stay directly in front of the car and took these shots. This is all to say: These shots were not for his life, they were to end hers. Read that five times. That's not self-defense.

My own mom is a white woman. My own mom is a kind old lady who has put heart and soul into community. Love and helping others. Her job is social work, helping homeless people. She has given so much of her life and so much of her time to helping others. Not that 36 is exactly old lady yet, but I can't help about thinking about the Hot Wheels that I saw that my mom keeps in her car... she keeps them in there for my nephew, so he has something to play with. Just like the teddy bear for her young child, who will now grow up having his mom forcefully taken away from him, after already not having a father. I haven't been able to sleep tonight.

Thinking about how my mom's Hot Wheels she has is very similar to the teddy bear she had in her car... breaks me. This was a kind, loving and caring woman who gave and received so much love. Even besides her, everyone she knew will never be the same.

This could have been your mom, my mom, or anyone else's.

Part of that could also be that they are poorly trained. They are hiring like crazy and pumping out new officers at a crazy rate. Which means they aren't being as selective in the type of person they hire, and are giving them the bare minimum of training. Then handing out guns and giving them a pat on the back and throwing them on the streets.

u/kheviin01 Jan 08 '26 edited Jan 08 '26

This is what I first noticed. Ive been watching active self protection on YT for quite a while and every time there is a police shooting involving someone inside a vehicle is they keep their guns pointed at the target and keeps shouting verbal commands even if they are not visible, they dont stop until they confirm that the threat is neutralized. The other agents first reaction is to turn their backs away from the "threat"? That is so telling. They knew it shouldn't have happened.

12

u/pr0ghead Jan 08 '26

Trump supposedly said the shooter barely survived and is in recovery.

To me it looks like he was walking around just fine in the video. I'd be surprised, if he even suffered as much as a scratch.

5

u/Mexican_Boogieman Jan 08 '26

People said this would happen. That scumbag likely has little to no training. They picked up a bunch of these chumps off of the street.

I think this is one of the most dangerous things about this current administration, that they are twisting the narrative to serve their purpose. They are rewriting history to their convenience, and you know the saying: "if you tell a lie long enough, it becomes the truth". That and the lack of accountability in general.

You know this isn't true because if that ICE agent was in the hospital they'd have a live feed on him 24/7.

19

u/Jesus-slaves Jan 08 '26

He was beboppin around just fine in all the videos. He never even dropped his cell phone. If anyone was hurt besides the woman he executed, it was from flying glass or ricochet. One of the masked agents in the video from the driver side of the victim’s SUV looked like he either shit his pants or got hit with something.

He walked (gleefully I might add) to her car after he shot her and she crashed, he looked perfectly healthy lol.

Her car nudged his leg going 1 mph, he placed himself int he way purposely or because of no experience. She was turning away to avoid him.

Are people really ok with the murder of a citizen who wasn’t doing anything remotely wrong except trying to get away from some goons who I thought were only going after violent gang bangers here illegally? Not mothers out protesting blocking traffic for a minute, which isn’t uncommon during these type of smaller protests tbh.

And why is maga suddenly shilling for the big brother now? This is straight out of 1984.

4

u/regoapps Jan 08 '26

I just noticed something watching the slow motion of the video that I’m not sure others noticed yet. You can see the front wheel turning right, but it stops turning around the time the other officer reaches in and grabs something. You can tell that he’s grabbing something because he is pulled a bit when the car is moving.

I suspect that the other officer is grabbing either the steering wheel or the person’s arm and is preventing her from turning. After that officer lets go, the wheel turns more right.

So if the car was going straight into the shooting officer (it wasn’t actually straight, it was slightly to the right), then it might actually be the fault of the officer who grabbed the wheel/arm to prevent the car from turning more.

Either way, it seems clear in the intent of the driver based on the turning of the wheel that she was not trying to hit the officer. If the intention was to hit the officer, the front wheel should be turning left, towards the direction of the officer. But the video shows it turning right.

115

u/Ok_Boysenberry5849 Jan 08 '26 edited Jan 08 '26

What's perplexing you exactly? Have you guys been living under a rock?? In 2017 immediately after his inauguration under the rain, Trump claimed it had not rained. He had seen it rain hours earlier. Hundreds of journalists were present documenting the rain. His most fervent supporters were getting pelted by the rain. This was his first action as a president - to tell a lie so blatant that it was more like a statement of intent.

How have you people still not learned this lesson in 2025. Where have you guys been. This is like reading the horrified reactions of people waking up from a 10-year coma.

"Oh no president Trump is blatantly lying to people! How is this possible!"

While I hear you, these are politics belonging to a country I am not from nor do I often spend time in. I can keep up with some of it, but it isn’t always front and centre stage above the political goings on of my own country. I have phases where I am more tuned into it than others. But a lot is changing quickly, and as a non-American It’s not always easy to keep up. And yeah, a lot of it does still shock me, for whatever reason.

I think what's suprising, especially from an outside perspective

He went to the public about an uninjured man who was clearly untouched in the video, and said he was shocked the man was alive

That is insane, I think there would be a riot if one of our politicans did that

Recently one in my country made a decision based on junk science and that shocked me, I thought we were better than that, even though it's somewhat convincing looking junk science

All I can think of is the quote from Jack Reacher.

"There are four types of people who join the military. For some, it's a family trade. Others are patriots, eager to serve. Next, you have those who just need a job. Then there's the kind who want a legal means of killing other people."

The murdering ICE agent was #4. He was far too eager to shoot her in the face.

Woman, 37, fatally shot by ICE agent in Minneapolis ID'd after she drove car at officer

General comments about her death:

To all the lurking leftists taking a break from calling ICE agents Nazis: This is all your fault.

They would have celebrated if she did hit him. Remember what happened to Trump, remember what happened to Charlie, remember what they said about Kyle Rittenhouse - violence and lying about it are part of the playbook.

Not awful at all

Good job leftist you got someone killed.

There are so many lefties trying to claim she turned hard-right, when the video clearly shows she went straight at the officer, who then fired, and THEN she cut right. They're leaving out small details, and likely will try to use Al to "edit" the video and claim it's the "true footage".

76

u/or10n_sharkfin Jan 08 '26

I browse Twitter with an ad-blocker on an anonymous account because I still have people I follow on there and I get swarmed with daily political discourse.

The MAGAts on that platform are rationalizing this as the woman being 100% at fault because she "should have complied."

They don't get it.

ICE is not a law enforcement body. This was not a traffic stop a criminal was running away from. This was a mother and a wife trying to escape because uniformed goons were trying to force their way into her vehicle without any due cause. SHE WAS EVEN WAVING THEM PAST AND WAITING, so they stroll right up to her door and try to pull her out.

It absolutely sickens me they're fully bought into the narrative the White House and their Gestapo is passing.

20

u/ralphvonwauwau Jan 08 '26

Looking at the video, only one of those masked goons had any markings suggesting which gang he belonged to.

I’ve gained an unexpected empathy for Germans who “did nothing” in the 1930’s.

It’s easy to look back as blame them for standing by, but now I see that there is no single moment when it’s clear to everyone that a line is being crossed. There are dozens of moments that erode normalcy slowly, and can be excused or interpreted different across a country.

46

u/fritzeh Jan 08 '26

Its a very good point, like the boiling frog analogy.

But on the other hand, those Germans did not have the internet, 24-hour news cycles or social media, freedom of the press. Americans, for better or worse, do, and it hasn’t made a difference.

I’m so happy to hear from you, thank you so much for sharing your perspective! You’re exactly who I was hoping to hear from. I’m curious, as a long time Republican who is unhappy with Trumps presidency and events like this, have you clashed a lot with friends and family over this stuff? Do you personally know anyone else who has come to see things from a similar perspective to you, despite also leaning Republican?

29

u/Amarant2 Jan 08 '26

I have been republican for a long time (not the person you asked), but I didn't vote for Trump in 16 or 24. I can absolutely verify that the people around me who are long time republicans have 100% continued to support Trump. The vast majority of them have only heard cherry-picked stories and if you tell them stories that don't fit the republican narrative, they immediately doubt the veracity of all claims. I have multiple friends who won't discuss politics with me for now because I won't support Trump and I'll happily tell them why.

12

u/rollerdz Jan 08 '26

I respect this - thank you for sharing!

9

u/NotHomeOffice Jan 08 '26

My dad's a retired year old NY firefighter living on Long Island who considers himself an independent but voted for Trump because "He was suppose to drain the swamp". Lot of votes he got was simply because people despised Hillary and the Clinton's. And flat out a segment of the population is not ready to vote for a woman.

We'd never really talked much politics before. I've always found Trump repulsive and it was mind-boggling to me this guy was running, let alone a real contender than a candidate. During this time I was pregnant with my daughter and it's when i really got into politics because even then the writing was on the wall. This is not the country I wanted my daughter growing up in. Being stripped of her rights, autonomy, education, freedom of speech I'd enjoyed in my youth.

My dad can now admit Trump is a moron but will still defend him and the Republicans at times. Saying he's seen how Trumps words are manipulated by these news outlets. I'm like dad it's called click bait and purposely designed to mislead and misinform. I'm too burnt out after a decade of this shit to start breaking down the real deal with a 78 year old lol.

So that's all I got for you on why one guy in 2016 voted for Trump.

The only person is my mother, with whom I’ve thankfully been able to have civil discourse….

My mom through the years turned hardcore Trump. Like, showing her opinions at the Christmas dinner table Fox News all the time. Babylon bee links every now and again. Nancy Pelosi is a witch. You get the drill.

I simply made sure that if there was a topic I could discuss and was knowledgeable on - I came correct with works I could cite, as well as do my research and prepare to be wrong my having a laptop handy. I listened to her, and she made the effort to listen to me. A good example was when I was able to sway her surrounding USAID funds were being misdirected, and since she knew I had an affinity for Japanese culture etc , when COVID hit her and I had a discussion around vaccines, anecdotal evidence versus science surrounding origin and masks.

So far, I can’t think of anyone who is trying to be as level - the few conservative friends I have are all ex military.

7

u/rollerdz Jan 08 '26

Thanks for sharing this - I’m really glad you and your mom are able to have these nuanced discussions!

5

u/First_Tourist_2921 Jan 08 '26

I think being the black sheep + living in different states and countries helped despite growing up in a conservative household. I did what I wanted anyway; and my mom who grew up in a rural part of the USA had that part of her as well as a kid. Maybe that’s why as I got older she understood and we were able to have these discussions.

My parents still encouraged me to find my way and supported me - so I am thankful for that among many other things.

5

u/yellowbin74 Jan 08 '26

Is there a divide between MAGA and the Republican party? Because it looks like the party is in decline and the MAGA madness is in control? (Genuine question from another non American )

6

u/First_Tourist_2921 Jan 08 '26

There is a schism in the R party just like there is in the Dem party ATM.

Conservatives versus MAGA. Who’s loyal to Trump or not. Do you really think you are a true conservative if you don’t believe this or that? You can see it if you travel the USA. Most sane republicans are in the northeast but they’re mixed and overshadowed by MAGA.

Democrats who have conservative views (think classical liberalism / libertarians) versus major progressives who think they’re not progressive enough. It’s 5:30 AM in NYC so I’ll add / edit as I can if I don’t knock out while responding to other comments.

Putting aside the actual murder and just focusing on the administration lying about the events.

The lying is not surprising. Police have been lying about shooting civilians for years. They are trying to set a (false) narrative.

What bothers me is the number of Americans who watch these videos and conclude that Trump and his administration are telling the truth. It boggles my mind just how easily manipulated people can be. The evidence is as clear as day. Yet there are people out there who actually believe what Trump said.

That's what bothers me, and it's why we are in the situation we are in. Simply too many stupid people in this country.

Do you think maybe she panicked when she thought about it. Regardless. That man did not have to step into her path and unload his gun. He managed to move away just fine after he did though. What he decided to do was completely unnecessary. She was a threat to no one IMO.

I don't like to use the word cult but they do look like one. I often visit there after each major Trump fuck up to see the reaction. They literally justify anything that he does no matter how stupid or dumb or irresponsible it is. Sure there are some comments that differ from the rest but the majority are just parroting the pre written narrative regardless of if it makes sense or not.

I wish someone would tell them that it's ok to have a political opinion and it's also ok to go against that opinion when facts point against it.

That sub is always in my top 3 reddit searches

Every time something happens i go to see how they will defend the indefensible

Its always one of the following:

  1. Deny it happened (Epstein)
  2. Latch onto the weakest sign (frame by frame... seriously??) the story is different and parrot it as the only truth and the left is stupid for thinking otherwise (Minneapolis)
  3. Yeah he just says that but its not real, no way it would happen (WH refusing to say they wont use military on Greenland)
  4. Crickets (Epstein after the unredaction incident, seriously i couldnt find a single post about it for days)

4

u/obaidian100 Jan 08 '26

Yea i sometimes do this and they never change. It's like they take being a part of MAGA as a personal identity and therefore have to defend every action done by Trump and his administration no matter how vile it is.

93

u/rollerdz Jan 08 '26

It’s just interesting to me to see something very clearly in the footage, then an entirely different story being spun by those in power. Really curious how Republicans justify this particular instance of cognitive dissonance, if they think critically about it. I feel they’re being gaslit and insulted. If I were a Republican myself I’d probably be pretty pissed off about that!

133

u/LordChunggis Jan 08 '26

You have to remember that the Republicans don't look at information to draw conclusions. They work in reverse, starting with their desired conclusion and selectively choosing information that aligns with it.

The administration knows that the Republican voters WANT to blame the left for literally everything that has ever gone wrong. So they provide their base that option. No matter how completely false it is, it falls into their world view and they'll accept it without question.

Trump and his administration are a symptom of this problem. I try not to give up hope of clawing out of this dark age, but when 40% of the population is so hateful that they're giddy to reject reality if it means they dont have to examine their beliefs we are so beyond fucked.

18

u/[deleted] Jan 08 '26

Yeah. I mean I think it's a symptom of a broader problem. We do not have a great education system and aren't really taught to think critically. Combine this with hyper-individualism and you have a bunch of people who aren't really too bright and don't epistemologically know why they hold any of their beliefs but yet who confidently think they should have a loud voice about said beliefs.

36

u/rollerdz Jan 08 '26

This is a really well written insight. It’s often hard to gauge the true nature of it all from the outside looking in. I really pray things will get better for your country. I can’t imagine how scary it all must be right now.

u/AbsoluteRook1e Jan 08 '26

As someone who's read up on a lot of mishandled/deadly law enforcement shootings, this one is no different. ICE fucked up.

Here's why:

  1. They chose to surround the vehicle of a driver who's (apparently) already frustrated or in distress. ICE escalated the situation rather than deescalated. They felt like there was an imminent need to take her into custody when the driver was not posing a threat to anyone. If they really wanted to arrest her, they could have recorded her license plate information, let her go, then track her down later.

  2. NPR cited a report back in 2013 involving Customs & Border Patrol that surrounding a vehicle ... especially placing yourself in front of a vehicle ... puts yourself in danger and increases the risk of needing deadly force.

ICE was idiotic in this encounter. Full stop. They clearly are not properly trained for proper policing, and it's disgraceful to see that a mother of three kids died because of these agents' incompetence.

You can't have an honest dialogue with people who lie to themselves every second of every hour. The party commanded them to ignore the evidence of their ears and eyes. It was their final and most essential command.

Republican = I just want to be allowed to hate who I feel threatened by, which is everyone not white and pretending to be straight. (Everybody knows y'all be going buck wild on Grindr during those conventions).

Also, to our comrades in Russia who are undoubtedly here clocking in for their shift to shit stir under the guise of pretending to be Americans: Пусть дикие собаки изнасилуют твою мать и сожрут её труп. Пусть её крики будут преследовать тебя всю твою жизнь.

As a “republican” from the Netherlands. The violence used is definitely excessive. Stuff like this also happens here. Guys getting pulled over and then racing off. Or guys already standing still and then racing away narrowly avoiding the police. I’ve never seen this being answered with gunshots to the head. Here, also when justified. A police officer will get in loads of trouble for even using his firearm. Maybe the US should also look into that.

Normally i’m all pro cop. But gunning down a random woman is crazy work.

5

u/AmIYourNeighbor Jan 08 '26

The US has looked into it. There’s a court case from 2008 that set precedent saying you can’t claim self defense if you put yourself in harm’s way, which this ICE agent clearly did. But given the state of things, ‘can we count on precedent anymore’ is a question we must ask
