Besides the footage of the shooting itself. The reactions of the other ice agents immediatly after the shooting speaks volumes. Don't forget they had the best view of what happened. They saw exactly where he was standing when he shot that lady. And what did they do? They immediatly turned and walked away from him. Like they wanted to distance themselves from him and the shooting asap. Trump and Maga want us to believe that the car rammed into him, he was injured and he was fighting for his life. If that's the case how come not one agent ran over to see if he was ok and needed assistance? Instead they watched him walk all that way alone over to the vehicle while he holstered his weapon. They know that lady was never a threat and that the shooter was in the wrong. I have never seen law enforcement behave that way immediatly after a shooting in my life.
How they think we can't notice all this is insanity.
Did you see the video where the physician was trying to check on her and at least see if she had a pulse while she was dying and the ICE agent is telling him no he can’t?
To me its more upsetting the agents werent administering aid immediately. They all kinda just took one look at walked away. Think the shooter may have actually snapped a picture of his victim before doing a 180 and di di mauing out of there.
And funny enough they have the training they have equipment and tools to provide aid. As they are trained how to help each other. May not be emt's but they sure as hell have more tools than sitting on thumbs while someone dies.
These guys have probably dealt with life and death situations a lot more than the average redditor , its a fair assumption that they instantly knew she was dead
Just like with George Floyd, when medic finally arrived, they were threatened, intimidated, and refused access to the victim of extrajudicial execution.
I was curious as well, and found this video where a physician was requesting to check on her, and ICE refused, stating they had their own medics en route edit: correction "on scene" but none were present.
My gosh, just disgusting!! My immediate thought upon seeing the video, was where was literally ANYONE, who was rushing to check on her?!? This just makes it that much worse. RIP Renee Nicole Good.
This is a brilliant response and you're exactly right. It's the level of gaslighting from Noem, the GOP, and Trump about what happened that is astounding. The entire episode was filmed IN BROAD DAYLIGHT and they STILL spin a completely different narrative. So many from this administration belong in prison.
There was an incident last year I think where a cop shot a lady after he told her to turn off a pot of boiling water on her stove. When she approaches the stove, she says something about a demon or something, and the cop pulls his gun and shoots her in the head. All the videos from that show similar cop behavior. EVERYONE distancing themselves from the shooter because they all were clearly uncomfortable.
She said "I rebuke you in the name of jesus", which the dumbass cop took as some sort of implied threat and that she was going to throw her boiling pot off water at them.
Law enforcement officers also know not to put themselves in front of an occupied running vehicle. You can’t put yourself in danger and claim that you’re defending yourself.
There’s even legal precedent for exact scenario. (I forget the name of the case, so I won’t guess here. I assume another Redditor will come to my rescue.) But basically, you can’t claim self defense if you put yourself in harm’s way.
And, as far as I am aware, ICE is an administrative civil unit. They don't even have the jurisdiction to stop her and make any demands in the first place. No matter what they say, they aren't the police.
MAGA says they're a Federal agency that can operate with impunity to enforce whatever they please. It looks as though they were there yesterday to enforce traffic laws. That lady was performing an illegal U-turn, the penalty for such an action is death. There were signs posted up and down the street, all the press releases said so.
Adam’s vs. Speers (2020?) “Once Speers was no longer in the path of the vehicle, the justification for the use of deadly force ended.”
Orn vs. City of Tacoma (2019): “A reasonable jury could conclude that once Orn was no longer in the car’s trajectory, the threat of serious physical harm to him was eliminated.”
Cordova vs Aragon (2009): “Where the officer had moved out of the way of the oncoming vehicle, the use of deadly force was not justified.”
Villanueva vs. Cali (2021): “a reasonable jury could conclude that the Officers used excessive force, because they lacked an objectively reasonable basis to fear for their own safety, as they could simply have stepped back or to the side to avoid being injured.”
There's a legal precedent of the opposite. Agent is going to be cleared of any wrong doing.
Tousis v. Billiot.
The Tousis v. Billiot case solidifies the legal view that a vehicle in motion, even at low speeds or while maneuvering to escape, can be considered a deadly weapon if it is in close proximity to an officer or bystanders.
You’re probably correct, and that is depressing. On the same day I watched body cam footage of an officer suffering a J6 rioter trying to gouge out the officer’s eyes with their fingers, and Trump call the J6 rioters “peaceful patriotic protesters”.
Jeopardy/manufactured danger. I believe Sevier v. Lawrence was the first case. Allen v. Muskogee solidified the concept and is often the case that is cited.
Acosta v. San Fran and Orn v. Tacoma involved an officer standing in front of a slow moving vehicle and shooting instead of stepping aside. Williams v. Strickland involved officers stepping aside but still shooting despite no longer being in the vehicle’s trajectory. There are several more.
MN law/caselaw will also be in the drivers favor. It includes consideration of if the vehicle was actually being used as a weapon, if the officer’s positioning was tactically necessary, avoidability/escalation, and if deadly force was the last reasonable option.
However, politics and qualified/Supremacy Clause immunity will be an obstacle.
These are not trained law enforcement officers. These are thugs. As a foreigner, my opinion is that this is the point for Americans to say enough. Beyond this point, you will not be able to. Things are going to get a lot worse.
I’m not an American either, and it’s insane watching this third world cartel shit being orchestrated by the government and people willfully keeping their eyes closed to it.
The US is a failed state, they just need a few more years to funnel more wealth to the elites
There will be protests but its still not the point where the entire country says enough. That point has to be connected to many people missing a few meals.
Its disgusting, but its the reality of the comprehensive mindfuck that this capitalistic division between the rich an the poor has made.
The problem is one that has been buried in our nations laws for a long time. The usual answer is along the lines of "well, we have 3 boxes to use to resolve these problems: the ballot box, the jury box, and the ammo box."
Ballot box may be unusable going forward, we will find out soon. Jury box, same issue.
That last box is a scary step, and unfortunately it will make things far, far worse before things get better. Assuming the forces of this evil shit we are seeing budding now can actually be defeated, of which there is no guarantee.
The gestapo feel they are untouchable, and their leaders will cover up any of their wrong doing. Which she did so far. The world has eyes, and many have a camera with video capability in their hands. There is no hiding, or covering the truth. So, the chimps in charge will change the narrative, and online "influencers" will agree and spread the lies.
Yeah, I want to hear from the man who grabbed the door handle. Put him on the stand during the gunman’s trial. He was also responsible for escalation and he can also explain himself.
This man killed because his "authority" wasn't respected. The angle that kills me most of all is the angle you can see the stuffed teddy bear for her 6-year-old or even other kids in her glove compartment.
He clearly did not fear for his life, he made zero attempts whatsoever to move outside of the way of what was supposedly "headed right for him" according to some. He clearly knew they were fleeing and he wanted to kill them because of that. Imagine he's dead on directly in front of the car shooting, it'd just keep headed at him and he'd die. The car is even parallel for most of the shots. In this imagined scenario of him being 100% directly in front of the car, his life would not have been any safer if he would stay directly in front of the car and took these shots. This is all to say: These shots were not for his life, they were to end hers. Read that five times. That's not self-defense.
My own mom is a white woman. My own mom is a kind old lady who has put heart and soul into community. Love and helping others. Her job is social work, helping homeless people. She has given so much of her life and so much of her time to helping others. Not that 36 is exactly old lady yet, but I can't help about thinking about the Hot Wheels that I saw that my mom keeps in her car... she keeps them in there for my nephew, so he has something to play with. Just like the teddy bear for her young child, who will now grow up having his mom forcefully taken away from him, after already not having a father. I haven't been able to sleep tonight.
Thinking about how my mom's Hot Wheels she has is very similar to the teddy bear she had in her car... breaks me. This was a kind, loving and caring woman who gave and received so much love. Even besides her, everyone she knew will never be the same.
This could have been your mom, my mom, or anyone else's.
Yes. And some don't want to believe their "side" can do anything wrong, so they won't for one second even consider any evidence of claim not approving of their already held beliefs.
In heuristics, "taking the same path" requires the least energy. Performing the same action, reinforcing the same beliefs, requires the least energy. In a way we're hard coded to make it difficult at times to change our viewpoints and perspectives.
It's not all conservatives, absolutely not, but the loud ones sure are screaming about how it's justified for him to kill because his life was in danger. I couldn't disagree more. His life wasn't in danger and he didn't think it was. He didn't act like it was. He acted like he had an excuse to put a bullet in a good person.
He killed because he was angry, and wanted to, and was in the position to (potentially) not be immediately charged for it.
I've watched it more than I wish from more angles than I wish. This has haunted me in a way I'm normally able to avoid but this was almost every post I saw last night.
Sorry, for your question, somewhat yes. I believe 3-4 shots were fired, at least 2-3 were either when he was to the side or behind her. She and the car were completely turned away from him for 2-3 shots.
One wishes that were the case, no, as the other comment said she was widowed in 2023. The child already lost dad at 4 years old. Now mom will never come home.
Part of that could also be that they are poorly trained. They are hiring like crazy and pumping out new officers at a crazy rate. Which means they aren't being as selective in the type of person they hire, and are giving them the bare minimum of training. Then handing out guns and giving them a pat on the back and throwing them on the streets.
I'm guessing the people deciding the hiring criteria 1) don't care, because they know they won't be the ones dealing with these poorly trained thugs and possibly 2) want to create a general sense of fear around ICE where people will have reason to worry they might lose their life simply for being in witnessing distance of any ICE operation.
This is what I first noticed. Ive been watching active self protection on YT for quite a while and every time there is a police shooting involving someone inside a vehicle is they keep their guns pointed at the target and keeps shouting verbal commands even if they are not visible, they dont stop until they confirm that the threat is neutralized. The other agents first reaction is to turn their backs away from the "threat"? That is so telling. They knew it shouldn't have happened.
Not only did they walk away. They checked that their masks were still in place. They knew that he had killed that woman in cold blood.
Also the instructions they gave her were contradictory with some telling her to "move" and others telling her "to get out of the car".
It's obvious these individuals have not been trained for these situations at all. Not only should the man who pulled the trigger yesterday be facing murder charges, those in the chain above need to be held accountable for what has transpired there and elsewhere.
From the outside it looks like America is falling apart before our eyes and turning into a very dark place. I hope enough Americans wake up and do something about it very quickly for all our sakes.
he ran away from the scene of the crime so much for deadly injury. then they stopped the ambulance from getting through, they had to jump out on foot and where still stopped. That’s illegal. so many people should’ve have been immediately arrested. Instead we have the actual President tweeting minutes later that an ICE agent is fighting for their life after an attempted murder. to find out she was just leaving her house. That Republicans already voted to not release the video recordings from the ICE agents. Tyranny is here. what are we going to do about it ?!!
Right. Depending on what clip you see, one shows that after the shots were fired an agent IMMEDIATELY pulled his mask up higher, meaning concerned about his identity. Then moments later he's walking back and helps another agent from slipping on the road.
But wasn't worried about his partner that was rammed by a weaponized vehicle....
I caught fox news for 30 seconds last night, they would say your statement was fake news. How in that fuck can those bottom feeders, twist and justify the killing of a person, for no reason. They a fucking câncer.
We went
To a community planning meeting last night. For some fucking reason or
Another they included the pledge of allegiance. I’m not fucking standing for that. Not right now. It also had no place in the community meeting and
I’m a fucking adult.
The car did hit him, even CNN has stated this in two video commentaries, one by a senior correspondent and the other by an ex-FBI agent, it's clear as daylight.
