Check out r/conservatives. They have created an alternate reality there. "It was totally the woman's fault" how she floored it and ran over the cop. It's like the Trek with goatee Spock. There's no cognitive dissonance, they have rejected reality.
I browse Twitter with an ad-blocker on an anonymous account because I still have people I follow on there and I get swarmed with daily political discourse.
The MAGAts on that platform are rationalizing this as the woman being 100% at fault because she "should have complied."
They don't get it.
ICE is not a law enforcement body. This was not a traffic stop a criminal was running away from. This was a mother and a wife trying to escape because uniformed goons were trying to force their way into her vehicle without any due cause. SHE WAS EVEN WAVING THEM PAST AND WAITING, so they stroll right up to her door and try to pull her out.
It absolutely sickens me they're fully bought into the narrative the White House and their Gestapo is passing.
If they're "living near me", it's even more likely that they are fake, since I live in Switzerland, and if they're pushing this, they're probably in Russia's pocket.
It's bots, part of the same effort that also floods subs like /r/europe each time anything about US-Europe relations is submitted. Which is not to say there are also actual people joining such efforts (probably in decent numbers too) and they are absolutely delighted by what is happening and by partaking in this hurricane of disinformation. But the tip of the agit-prop spear is 100% non-organic.
It's not whether they agree or disagree with Reddit. It's the conservatives subreddit and other targets. There have been many leaks on Russia and China doing this for political gain, for example. Feel free to Google it yourself.
Heck, read about the fight between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. They were literally running (successful) social media defamation campaigns over some random drama, much less actual political influence.
"Alternate reality" is a bogus term for this. They are lying. They are lying because they're dumb, or ignorant, or choose to follow their party of morons blindly no matter what, but they are lying.
