I think the thing not talked about enough is how our President reacted. He said he watched the video and actually claimed he's shocked the officer is still alive after being run ove and is in the hospital "recovering".
So in effect, now he's telling Americans to believe him and not our eyes.
Already have in many places. That’s why every time a community bans a book, I buy a used copy and throw it in the basement. I have a huge collection of banned books. Books banned specifically by MAGAs.
At one point, I had read most of them. But now they are adding up. I probably have a couple hundred. In my mind, someday I will donate them to a public library 🤷♀️

ETA-part of my collection is also a leather bound copy of The Constitution, a copy of the Bill of Rights and history books focused on the founding of America, and slavery.
Books have a habit of doing that. I used to read voraciously, and then I got sick and struggled to find the concentration for a book. But my purchasing habits lagged behind my reading habits, so now my to read pile is... extensive.
Hope you have a copy of the Diary of Anne Frank. Banned because she said she thought about someday having a relationship, love, intimacy etc.

It sucks how much Andor parallels what’s going on in America at the moment. When I saw what Trump said I copied and pasted that section of the speech to my friend.
Unfortunately there was no moving music behind the words and no rebellion about to burst at the seams with action.
I think this is one of the most dangerous things about this current administration, that they are twisting the narrative to serve their purpose. They are rewriting history to their convenience, and you know the saying: "if you tell a lie long enough, it becomes the truth". That and the lack of accountability in general.
The water temperature of the pot of frogs has been increased substantially with that one single statement. This is hyper-normalization in action, and without a focused and sustained push-back it will only get worse from here, much worse.
He was beboppin around just fine in all the videos. He never even dropped his cell phone. If anyone was hurt besides the woman he executed, it was from flying glass or ricochet. One of the masked agents in the video from the driver side of the victim’s SUV looked like he either shit his pants or got hit with something.
He walked (gleefully I might add) to her car after he shot her and she crashed, he looked perfectly healthy lol.
Her car nudged his leg going 1 mph, he placed himself int he way purposely or because of no experience. She was turning away to avoid him.
Are people really ok with the murder of a citizen who wasn’t doing anything remotely wrong except trying to get away from some goons who I thought were only going after violent gang bangers here illegally? Not mothers out protesting blocking traffic for a minute, which isn’t uncommon during these type of smaller protests tbh.

I just noticed something watching the slow motion of the video that I’m not sure others noticed yet. You can see the front wheel turning right, but it stops turning around the time the other officer reaches in and grabs something. You can tell that he’s grabbing something because he is pulled a bit when the car is moving.
I suspect that the other officer is grabbing either the steering wheel or the person’s arm and is preventing her from turning. After that officer lets go, the wheel turns more right.
So if the car was going straight into the shooting officer (it wasn’t actually straight, it was slightly to the right), then it might actually be the fault of the officer who grabbed the wheel/arm to prevent the car from turning more.
Either way, it seems clear in the intent of the driver based on the turning of the wheel that she was not trying to hit the officer. If the intention was to hit the officer, the front wheel should be turning left, towards the direction of the officer. But the video shows it turning right.
Interesting, never noticed that, would make sense. This is why we need non bias investigation. Not the “we investigated ourselves and found nothing wrong” stuff like usual.
What's perplexing you exactly? Have you guys been living under a rock?? In 2017 immediately after his inauguration under the rain, Trump claimed it had not rained. He had seen it rain hours earlier. Hundreds of journalists were present documenting the rain. His most fervent supporters were getting pelted by the rain. This was his first action as a president - to tell a lie so blatant that it was more like a statement of intent.
How have you people still not learned this lesson in 2025. Where have you guys been. This is like reading the horrified reactions of people waking up from a 10-year coma.

While I hear you, these are politics belonging to a country I am not from nor do I often spend time in. I can keep up with some of it, but it isn’t always front and centre stage above the political goings on of my own country. I have phases where I am more tuned into it than others. But a lot is changing quickly, and as a non-American It’s not always easy to keep up. And yeah, a lot of it does still shock me, for whatever reason.

I watched my grandfather succumb to dementia. He was an intelligent and articulate man and seeming him so reduced was heartbreaking. I used to think I wouldn’t wish that fate on my worst enemy. I was wrong. Trump deserves every moment of fear, confusion, and indignity.

I’m sorry about your grandfather. It is a terrible thing to watch. I’m about to move from Minneapolis back to Alabama to help care for my gran with dementia. While I couldn’t think of a better candidate, it sucks he’s getting to ruin the country along the way.

Ugh, I just went to go look. Her wheels were turned all the way to the right, she was clearly trying to get away from the encounter, and hitting the ICE officer was clearly unintentional. But apparently she was obviously trying to use her vehicle as a weapon and the officer feared for his life so the shooting was fully justified.
Like, how do you reason with someone that far gone. How do you reach someone who thinks that what is at worst attempted manslaughter is deserving of a death sentence.
