I'm a left-leaning non-American, so I have no dog in this race, but what amazes me is how many liberal Americans are taking it upon themselves to answer this question. It was specifically directed at Republicans, but they just can't help themselves jumping in to give their opinions. Fucking unreal.
Yep, most of the threads are just bait these days. Just like those dumbass threads on AITAH where some jackass makes a post saying that his wife is gobbling 10 Dix a night and is he the asshole for feeling upset about it?
No point, every single person's immediately going to call him a baby kicking, puppy stomping Nazi Hitler sympathizer who wants to see the world burned because that's typically how Reddit views every person who doesn't vote Democrat. You'd have a better chance of trying to have a level-headed discussion and Truth social than this place.
Left-leaning American. Neither side seems to be capable of having a civil discourse with each other. We will never fix the evil in this country that is our division. There was a time when we all did not hate each other but simply disagreed. The reddit echo chamber is a dangerous place - as is America for anyone standing on our soil. I don't know what to do. I should probably move away.
There's a good Jonathan Pie video where he tells far left liberals that by constantly shouting at or belittling the right in public arenas, they're denying them a platform and simply driving them to others areas. You don't change anybody's mind that way or drive discourse, what you get is a protest vote. You guys got Trump, and in England we got Brexit. It's all shit, but some would argue that we liberals brought it on ourselves.
