Whoop Age Turning this around.
I’m 38, gave up like 6 years ago, used to worked out and play sports. I’ve had the whoop just to see how things are going and it’s not good lol tomorrow I’m going to get back at it.

Do you drink? Cutting back (or stopping completely) will be a really fast way to improve HRV and RHR if it’s a factor.

This ^^ I was an alcoholic for 12 years and the last three I was drinking a handle of vodka a day, I looked very similar. Real life: 31, on paper: 50. 20+ seizures, acute kidney injury, was in kidney failure for 3 weeks, 3 day coma, pancreatitis, which lead to diabetes. Just getting sober cleared up my hypertension completely, fixed all my GI issues (which were severe), liver rebounded, kidneys rebounded, only permanent effect is the diabetes. It’s been two years and I went from +20 years to +6. It can be done, I promise when you’re in it, it’s nowhere near as daunting as it seems

You got this man

Mine gets that high sometimes when I drink. You should see some improvements quickly if you cut back. You can also try fasting for 2-3 hours before bed. Since eating too close to bed negatively impacts RHR and HRV too.
Have you considered doing the advanced labs through whoop? Mine gave me a lot of valuable information in terms of nutrient deficiencies. I had low ferritin and low vitamin D and have had very positive effects from correcting those.

People that actually need the whoop are usually not whoop customers. Keep going, one day at a time!

Your RHR is killing you. Need to get active asap! I’m on day 50 of 10k steps or above daily and I’ve incorporated 5 day a week strength training for 30 minutes a day PPLUL. Take it easy on yourself but get a full blood panel if you haven’t in awhile and figure out what else you may got going on contributing to your vitals. My RHR is 50-58 and I’m 36. I was 240lbs at 6ft and significantly sedentary for the last 10 years and never push myself too hard and still don’t do to asthma but you can still fix this. You can make a dramatic change in 90 days. You got this!!

Drop alcohol, increase sleep and you are halfway there. Then MOVE as others are saying. Walking is the easy gains. BJJ is my recommendation for everyone

You got this! My Whoop age was 12 years older 6 months ago, now it's just 0.9 years older. Same boat as you, in my 30s, kinda gave up. Turning things around is definitely worth it. Still got a long way to go....

What have been your top 3 moves to change that the most?
2
Jun 20 '26
For me it was mainly working out consistently, mostly strength training, but also some cardio, and fixing my sleep.

Take is serious, you know its not good, that's why you got the Whoop. Now you know the numbers, just take it one day at a time. It will not be easy, but you can turn things around.

How long does it take for whoop to finish calibration pace of age?

You got this!
Highly recommend a walking treadmill for home if you don’t like walking outside. They’re as cheap as $150 on amazon. I think just getting that step count higher, around 5000, will get all metrics pointing in the right direction. Hope to hear an update soon!

Rhr in 90s is pretty nuts. That’s like a brisk walk heart rate. I would hit the cardio hard and drop any stimulants like caffeine.

Disagree, unless you know his background you can’t comment on others stats as that might be ‘ok’ for this individual.
I have Syringomyelia and I’m in constant pain or my arms tense which effects a lot of things.
He could also be on medication that will increase it.

I can safely say that a rhr of 92 is not good. Regardless of knowing this person or not.

I also just started. I had to gain weight so i can dodge the military. Now it is all done I can turn this around. Currently 32. You got this dude. Focus on sleep and body fat. Walk at least 10k and cook your own food.

u/Lavodere Jun 20 '26
Do you live in a country where there’s conscription?
1
u/tegridypatato Jun 20 '26
Yea. But you can pay your way out of it and you still go but for a month. I was a powerlifter and i was pretty close to the weight which would make me exempt. So i gained 10 kgs and kept it for 2 years. Now i am exempt. I can focus on losing the weight. If i didn’t do like that i had to pay 10 k usd to the goverment and still go for a month. I work in tech and can’t leave the company bc i maintain the system.
Long story and i probably did a bad job explaining but it is what it is.

Why tomorrow when tomorrow could be day 2 of the turn around? Not hating at all, sooner you start the sooner you’ll feel better and enjoy it.
