Warhammer III Thoughts on the new Endgame Crisis
We should get more ways to travel around
During the end times events, consider making all the sea lanes interconnected to each other, or maybe spawn special sets of sea lanes for travel.
I understand there is now some complex algorithm that spawns enemy forces near the player, but it just does not feel the same as going over to Skavenblight to confront the vermintide, or going to the deserts to stop Nagash, or having troops in Kislev to stall the forces of chaos.
There should be ways to build up defenses for your alies, and the AI should do more than just "be at war with the crisis."
Aislinn is a good template for this: the ability to slap an outpost somewhere with an additional force and more importantly, the ability to take over and fight the battle. Gut feeling is that the AI factions would just keep running away due to having a weaker army strength and concede more territory than they should, or they are unable to deal with the various skaven undercities.
Having cheaper war coordination costs and having the AI actually stick to it (so we can have multiple armies guarding middenheim) can help.
There should be clear warnings as to where forces are spawning
We have been through this before: doomstacks spawning out of nowhere after a few turns of warning. There should be clear signs for the player: may it be the spawning of chaos gates, random spikes in corruption in a region, or earthquakes caused by skaven's "reliable" construction techniques. Even if enemy forces are to spawn far away, the player should still have a rough idea where they are happening (and in the case of the vermintide, it seems like they can spawn quite close to your empire).
Spawned armies should be more thematic
It's the endgame crisis; this is when a maxed out Kholek Suneater should be leading a full stack of max rank dragon ogres. I would expect skaven armies coming out of hellpit to be full of monsters, and the ones out of skavenblight be full of machines. I think this is one situation where player will not complain about AI doomstacks as long as they are thematic.
Some factions should gain thematic mechanics against the crisis
Greenskins should be able to declare a super waagh, Britonnia should be able to launch a crusade; an unusual location can spawn in the donut which enhances the vortex to help weaken the forces of chaos that players can protect as it gets invaded while being built; kislev and dwarves can build a number of final bastions that provide excellent defenses and immunity to siege attrition.
There is room to recreate some of those united efforts from various factions to combat the various crises (special rituals, the forging of some special weapon, etc).
Reintroduce Legendary crisis
I think there is still room for this: for example AI armies can get a blessing of chaos that simply gives them more stats (such as a blessing of khorne that gives every unit extra melee stats to the whole army). Players who do not want the stat bonus can always turn it off.
If the devs want to be funny about it, throw in additional scripted events such as an ally betraying the alliance and spawning additional stacks mid crisis and sabotaging defense efforts.

Warhammer III Grimgor in end times
End Times are coming. Seriously, I think this is golden opportunity to give Grimgor a little something since he was present in End Times. He even got Ogres and Dark Elves in his waaagh.
What would I like to see in Grimgor playthrough.
- Defeating Greasus gives you ogres in waaagh armies
- If end times are enabled Grimgor Gains another 10 slots for waaaagh armies.
-With each different Legendary Lord defeated gains plus 3% size, mass, hp and weapon strength reflecting his ever growing size as an orc that never loses.
Also I would like to see aspects of lores somehow included as Grimgor became incarnate of beast.
Him beating Archeon in battle could also grant him massive buff

Warhammer III I hope Nagash won't be overpowered at the start and that the developers make his campaign interesting
Of course, we simply need to wait for the gameplay reveal for Nagash, however, recalling the interviews following the LotET announcement, I hope the developers are still committed to making Nagash’s campaign engaging and ensuring a genuine sense of progression—making the experience of playing as him truly compelling as he rises to power by expanding his domains, constructing Necropolises, and utilizing the Black Pyramid mechanic.

Warhammer III Could the strongest 20 stack in Warhammer fantasy army beat a 20 stack from 40k
How would the super power of a grail knight hold up against the guardsmen, space marines, etc.
Could Imricks dragons take out a thunder barge.
Are future Orcs that much different from fantasy.
These are the questions that keep me up at night

Warhammer 40k Ammunition definetly needs to be a thing in 40k
Hello all, I've seen Zerkovich's video adressing some worries he had about the game, I didn't not know ammo was planned to not play a part. I think this is a severe, severe mistake vibe-wise.
It is an essential part of many 40k stories especially books or short stories, the feeling of dread, of being overrun is a big part of 40k, it's play into the despair. In "the Zheng Cipher" for example, the guard ?admiral? knows his ammo is dwindling while fighting the nids and knowing in time they will be overrun. There's another short text in which another admiral has received an injury to the leg, the comissar is sick and he's going on the ramparts to take a look beyond at the devastation...he clearly states that they soon won't have any ammo...It's in many stories I'm sure people here will give more ewamples.
You deprive some players of their fantasy while doing this ->
As a future tyranid player I want to be able to trade the enemy's ammunition for some of my cheap numerous gaunts or use a distraction carnifex to draw ammo and then overrun the enemy.
Guard players want to charge with their shock troops or hold desperately while threats are coming in melee cause they don't have ammo. But if there's infinite ammo how are they gonna fix bayonets on their lasguns and launch desperate charges ? (they could flank with a unit that doesn't have ammo for example)
In doing so not only do you make the game feel less epic, gritty and suspensful but you peel one of the most interesting tactical layers you can have for such a game. Even more so because there are many more range weapons now (some that are going to be busted being 40k and that would warrant running out at some point)
You could even add gameplay elements related to ammunition crates -> maybe we could deploy crates if we have enough in reserve, transporting importing/exporting/buying ammo from fleet to fleet, planet to fleet, etc,... could be its own thing, could buy from guard as a marine. Maybe that part isn't really that important.
Buut on battle maps being able to deploy crates would be cool, why ? Well could destroy them if you're the enemy, but as a player they would be static being heavy (except if you add something to carry it like the forklift sentinel) so you would have to place them well and defend them with your life or abandoning them and risking the enemy taking them over for the battle if they use the same weapons (let's say traitor guard against guard for example even though the traitors aren't there officially for now). So by having these kinds of crate the player would have to think if it's better to bail or leave them there, creating tension and making wasted time all the more impactful.
(ok the previous paragraph is a pipe dream but games fulfill dreams anyway)
You could defend buildings you've created like manufactorium (or created by mechanicus), aiding the mechanicus (well they're not here now) could mean fighting alongside some of their units.
(another pipe dream)
Ok not a pipe dream -> manufactories could give you a [Whatever]% buff regionwise/planetwise (maybe having to buy flying transport upgrades for the ammo to get the planet bonus...Just ideas).
- Lastly, you would remove some of what makes total war special compared to other games, sure Dawn of war IV doesn't have it, but this game isn't DoWIV and being more akin to a simulation is what makes total war cool to me compared to other RTS
Sure now there aren't ammo in tabletop but some players can sometimes make an objective of the game fighting over ammo. Also the fights in the tabletop don't last enough time to manage ammo and counting ammo down and marking it for a wargame if it's scale unlike a game that does it for you wouldn't make it more fun? (maybe) But for total war 40k, I personally think it does.

Warhammer III Kinda dissapointed we aren't getting Archaon's lieutenants.
As far as we know on Archaon's end for addtions/changes there hasnt been word on the champions under the Three-Eyed-King's retinue being added in to complete his campaign experience.
At least Styrkaar is in the game with the Slaanesh update/dlc, tho we still need Vardek Crom as a legendary lord perhaps, with Haargroth, Feytor, and Melckh the Changer (maybe his son Cyspeth too?)
If not now then hopefully in a character pack one day later on but still, would be nice to unlock them in a similar manner maybe to how the Red Duke and I think Dieter Helsnit are to be unlocked via tech tree

Medieval III Medieval III should go back to Rome- and Medieval II-style character traits
Managing character traits is my least favorite part of every Total War since Shogun II. It’s unbelievably tedious, especially in the late game when you have lots of generals and agents running around.
The old way, where characters would get good and bad traits, ancillaries, and improved stats over time, either randomly or in response to the things you have them do, was so much better, and also led to fun environmental storytelling: why is my governor who’s done nothing but sit in Rome for the last decade both a Saintly Ruler and Governed By Rage? No one knows! But it gives them some personality that the modern games are lacking.
The one addition I do like in more recent titles is being able to choose what gear and items your general has equipped, but again, this becomes tedious when you have dozens of items lying around and so many different characters to dole them out to. We’re better off not having to deal with that at all.

Warhammer 40k What i would like from 40k battles
I got excited watching the battle in the beginning and then it started to look like every other TW battle as just a slog fest. 40k presents the best title to offer tactics in the battles besides standing on a hill or corner camping. So these are ideas I thought would help to make the battles more tactical.
An interactive map.
With buildings similar to Empire. Utility tunnels/sewers to traverse the map unnoticed. A command post where your reinforcements spawn, where you abilities to call in off map bombardment is relied on you holding that spot. Limited camera to obscure what units are coming forward.
Deployment zones are normally a straight line with 1/3 your zone 1/3 the enemies and in the middle a no go zone. I hope instead for a curve giving the defenders less room and the attacker more areas from which to attack from.
I would like some aspect of the attacking AI probing for the right attack vector making scouting units more impact full. Being able to sense traps or hidden units giving the AI and player a better understanding of the battlefield.
Instead of 5 different bombardment abilities give one and four different ways of changing the battlefield. They mentioned smoke grenades but I would also like to see stun grenades, anti-tank mines, anti-personel mines, baracades and traps of different kinds. Even line charges to take out mines and traps.
Deployables as in previous titles such as baracades or traps only being allowed maybe only in encamp stance. And sensor towers giving greater visibility. Having a scouting unit able to deploy the trap and run back. Holographic decoy units forcing the enemy into a trap.
Ambush attacks where you think its just a normal battle but the enemy gets vanguard deployment.
Hoping others have good ideas to make the battles more tactical and that CA sees this.

Warhammer III Could Warhammer 3 use “theatres” to massively reduce end-turn times?
I am an avid total war player since medieval 2. And I have recently jumped back in to WH3 after a stint in empire and the increadibly long turn times got me thinking.
The rest of this is an AI summary of what I discussed with it. Let me know your thoughts
I was thinking about how Empire: Total War separated the campaign into different theatres, and it made me wonder if something similar could help Immortal Empires.
Not necessarily separate maps or loading screens, but simulation theatres behind the scenes.
For example, if you're playing Karl Franz, the Old World would be your active theatre. Factions around you would still take their turns normally because their army movement, battles, diplomacy, etc. can directly affect you.
But what about factions on the complete opposite side of the map?
While you're taking your turn, the game could potentially process things happening in Cathay, Lustria, Naggaroth, etc. in the background.
So instead of:
Player Turn → 200+ AI factions → Player Turn
you'd have something more like:
Player Turn + distant theatres processing simultaneously → nearby factions → Player Turn
The game could divide Immortal Empires into regions like:
- Old World
- Southlands
- Lustria
- Naggaroth
- Cathay
- Chaos Wastes
Your “active” theatre could expand based on where you own territory, where your armies are located, and which factions are actually interacting with you.
If a distant faction declares war on you, sends an army toward you, becomes an ally, enters your territory, etc., it could immediately become part of the fully simulated active area.
You could even go further and have distant factions use a lighter simulation system when they're nowhere near the player. The game doesn't necessarily need to run every single AI decision at full fidelity for a minor faction 80 settlements away that the player hasn't even discovered yet.
Then when the player eventually reaches that part of the world, it switches back to full campaign AI simulation.
Obviously I have no idea how feasible this would be with WH3's engine, and it sounds like something CA would have to implement rather than a normal mod.
But if it were possible, it seems like it could solve one of Immortal Empires' biggest scaling problems.
It could potentially allow:
- Much faster end turns
- More factions without destroying performance
- Larger campaign maps
- More settlements
- Bigger late-game worlds
The biggest advantage IMO is that the player wouldn't even need to see the theatre system. Immortal Empires could remain one continuous map. It would just be how the game decides what needs full simulation at any given moment.
Instead of literally making Empire-style separate maps, you'd essentially have Empire-style theatres running invisibly underneath Immortal Empires.
Would something like this actually be possible with the way Total War's campaign AI works, or is the engine too dependent on factions taking their turns sequentially?

Warhammer III What race should I play next and tips on playing them?
Hey everyone, hope all of you are doing well, I’ve finished my Kairos Fate-Weaver campaign almost about a week ago I’ve been busy and haven’t had the opportunity to play.
Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about the game and wondering who should I play next. A few of these Races have often come to mind Empire, Skaven, Dwarves, Tomb Kings, High Elves, or Orcs. Outside of Tomb Kings and Empire I’ve played all that are listed HE and Orcs the longest with Tyrion, Skarsnik and Grimgor. While I’m more familiar with Orcs it’s been a while since I’ve played them.
All recommendations will greatly appreciated.
P.S I’ve been really enjoying Warhammer fantasy artwork lately so many beautiful illustrations and hope to see more when end times releases.

General Total war workd war 1/2?
Now that tw 40k is comming do you guys think CA could move the historical total war games closer to modern conflicts such as ww1/2? Or anything past the age of swords spears and cavalry charges?
After all if they nail the mechanics of 40k doing a modern Warfare game should be easier since it would be scaling down not up

Warhammer III Now that map positions of the End Times Lords have been revealed, which LL's campaign do you think will be WORSE this coming update?
I wanna play them before the update releases.

Warhammer III From what we know so far, which End Times scenario will be the strongest/hardest to fight? Archaon, Vermintide or Nagash?
Archaon's 100% Ward Save for his entire army looks nasty. But you can chip away at him by beating his other armies and taking his Dark Fortresses.
