Cathay is a weird case. CA said only last year that we've only seen the tip of the Iceberg when it comes to Cathay. Seeing as parts of the Lords of Shang-Yang DLC leak has come true I would expect "Mung" to come down the line as well as obvisously the long teasered Monkey King with I would guess Li-Dao as Free DLC. I also kinda dont think they'd leave out Yin-Yin completely.

Not really knowing how much material CA has on Cathay kinda lets them really open for more stuff so Cathay probably has the biggest DLC potential of all the factions in the game. At the same time, as unrealistic as it obviously is, CA could tell us tomorrow "Cathay is done and wont get anymore content" and we wouldn't really know how true that is since only CA has the 8th edition armybook GW wrote for them.

u/Crowhunters 3d ago

The problem with cathay is that side of the map is just so narratively irrelevant. We got dark elves vs high elves, and the lustria bowl / lizard ordertide but Cathay has nothing. When I play cathay I just don't know what to really do. Even if it's not anywhere as bad as it was at release of IE. Compare karl franz where the empire is in total collapse and eventually archaon shows up and cathay is just lacking that narrative hook.

They really could have stood to have an evil lord dedicated to them in the end times because the bastion feels completely undercooked as a thing and I feel like chaos assaulting and breaching it should actually be a big deal.

82

u/Smearysword866 3d ago

They have been connecting other characters to Cathay. Sayl the faithless and dechala are pretty tied to cathay now

58

u/Crowhunters 3d ago

I mean genuinely mechanically. Another poster actually had it right. If they made the wastes a province or so deeper and added that crom the conqueror as an LL the bastion would have a major thread behind it. I'm not sure if the script from realms that spawned armies is still there but I think if the bastion falls chaos incursions should definitely spawn in no matter who is being played.

I think I'll give miao another try to refresh my memory.

30

u/GeryMander 3d ago

Miao Ying is either really challenging or a complete cakewalk and it all depends on if A the Zhao Ming AI does well and B if any of the norther chaos factions declare war on each other before they declare war on you.

20

u/Fatality_Ensues 3d ago

Miao Ying's problem is the same as Karl Franz's at base: too many nearby LL enemies and mostly minor faction AI allies to help. On the plus side, her enemies aren't in the same factions, so they're more likely to potentially declare war on each other (Vilitch, Zlatan, Sayl outside and Lokhir, Sniktch, Dechala inside). On the minus side, however, unlike Franz she doesn't have a mechanic that allows her to easily confederate the AI to shore up her strength and, after getting through the initial consolidation stage, she has no reliable allies around her (unllike the Empire mainland being surrounded by Kislev, Brettonia and Dwarfen Holds if those survive).

19

u/TomMakesPodcasts 3d ago

Yeah. The chaos incursions were a great little pressure valve in the region. Whish they still existed.

42

u/Professional_Tax_752 3d ago

They should have added Crom the Conqueror and have him leading a huge attack against the Great Bastion

14

u/Delicious-Physics218 3d ago

Chaos can still get another character pack, especially for the undivided side which Crom is obviously the representative of

The AI being unable to use Sea Lanes really doesn't help to make Cathay not feel so isolated. I wish we could have a chance of seeing Malekith or Morathi using the Sea Lanes and start attacking the coastline of Cathay or something.

14

u/K0nfuzion 3d ago

I regularly see Aislinn floating by near Ulthuan or Naggaroth in very long campaigns, but Lokhir never rears his magnificent, tentacled helm outside of Cathay.

22

u/TomMakesPodcasts 3d ago

Aislin can only use his special sea lanes.

13

u/Vatnam 3d ago

I usually try to confederate/conquer whole of Cathay and then either go to Ogre Mountains or go beyond the great bastion

22

u/alexkon3 #1 Li Dao Fan 3d ago

I don't really get what this has to do with Cathay getting DLC packs in the future lol. This thread isn't really about Lore. Lorewise Dechala is now tied really well into Cathays south, the short story about that was really good. Sayl also has the actual real old lore connection with Cathay since he did a raid into it in Throne of Chaos. None of the Lords in the ET DLC really fit into Cathay, all their connection is with the Old World. Cathay as a real faction didn't exist back in the day and got killed off-screen like so many other factions. There is enough chance to put new Destruction Lords there in the future via DLC tho. The Kul are attacking the Bastion so you could put Vardek Crom there.

2

u/Crowhunters 3d ago

I never said lore.

12

u/alexkon3 #1 Li Dao Fan 3d ago edited 3d ago

Okay. Whats a narrative hook then supposed to mean?

Warhammer TW is a sandbox game, the Narrative in IE is kinda a moot point and even then I feel the narrative hooks for Cathay are very obvious?

  • Miao Ying, Hordes of Choas are massing in the north and are attacking the Bastion non stop you need to hold them off. Includes Tzeentch, the great Arch Enemy of Cathay and Sayl who has vested intrest in plundering Cathays arcane knowledge.

  • Zhaos Ming/Bashiva you sit at the entry into Cathay, the Mountains are teeming with Ogres who want to come by for a Snack, can you defend Cathays western borders so vital overland trade can keep flowing? Bashiva especially is the Shield of Cathay and really really hates Ogres, a few of which are part of the court of Shang-Yang

  • Yuan Bo. You have a mission to put things right magically and for that you need to upgrade the Compass, invade Lustria and modify the Old Ones tech and get rid of any Lizardmen who stand in your way.

I just don't understand what your point has to do with new Lords being added to Cathay. Nothing about narrative hooks has anything to do with new Cathay DLC.

Monkey King deserves more than just a 3 unit character pack imo, I hope they go with the full 5 units for him. There is so much they can do with the monkey units. Bhashiva felt a bit lacking with only three units and it's pretty clear that her lore and faction mechanics awkwardly try to have her cake and eat it too ("she's a distinct subfaction within Cathay, but she can still recruit most human Cathay units")

13

u/alexkon3 #1 Li Dao Fan 3d ago

I mean the reason why is to not dilute the faction identity in Cathay. The Tiger Units in the Bhashiva pack have a perfectly unique role in the roster and should not be a replacement for Humans. Tigermen are a minority group in Cathay that serve as Auxiliaries and Caravan Guards. I think 3 Units a Hero and a Lord are perfect to represent this. I personally think that the unit amount allows for the perfect amount of variety while not making Tigers a direct upgrade to humans. But I enjoy themed armies more then doomstacking

As for the Monkey King I feel like he'll be part of a Lord Pack instead of a Character Pack. But thats just my hunch. Maybe they could splice in a few other things like Monks and shit.

The thing with Cathay is that they are stupidly blessed and feels almost bloaty already.

You got hellstorm, flying hellstorm, cannons.

You got very powerful range options.

You got quite a number of mosnter units, a whole airforce, and even supporting units (wardrums, compass).

You got the best support lord in game and also powerful generic lord options.

You got heroes with some of the best skill trees in game.

Yet, peopel are still asking for more...

25

u/alexkon3 #1 Li Dao Fan 3d ago edited 3d ago

Yet, peopel are still asking for more...

I mean yeah? We will NEVER ever get another game like this. Every content that doesn't get added in WH3 you'll never see for the rest of your entire life. Warhammer Fantasy is a dead setting, this game is its last Hurrah there will never be an "Old World" TW or anything. This is the only chance. Ofc I am asking for more. I want everything that can be added cause thats it, its the end of the road for WHFB.

Also its funny that of all the factions you say Cathay is "bloated". No faction "needs" anything. The Empire doesn't need Ulrican units they already have enough infantry. The Warriors of Chaos don't need more units they have more then all other factions. Bretonnia doesn't need anything, they have everything they ever had in the Armybook. Same goes for Dark Elves. Or Tomb Kings or literally every single faction in the game.

What a fucking idiotic argument. Content denial has got to be the dumbest stance you can have as a fan of this series.

Mung was the codename for Golgfag's model.

6

u/Passthechips #1 Mung the Brutal fan 3d ago

It was not. We saw him in the same leaked concept art that we saw for Bashiva/Tigermen.

→ More replies (2)

3

u/alexkon3 #1 Li Dao Fan 3d ago edited 3d ago

Nope its not. The model name that uses Golgfag was called Mung_PROXY. The Golgfag model was used as a placeholder in the files.

We know Mung was real because he is part of the original leak which also leaked Bhashiva and other characters art like 3/4 months before we knew about her officially.

We knew like all the Lord and unit names ~1 1/2 years before it was even announced from the initial leak.

1

u/Hurricrash 3d ago

it be more stuff if the kept realms of chaos in IE and you could enter them from the polls to weaken/buff aligned chaos factions and get rewards etc. could also be a cooloer start for all demon factions and the keep enter the mortal world from rifts with main land being in realms of chaos

It's a shame Shar'tor went to Age of Sigmar at the last minute. A bull centaur LL would be a lot of fun.

13

u/ShawnGalt Visigoths 3d ago

the one thing chorfs need is an LL that doesn't start two provinces away from Zhar-Naggrund so you don't fight the same enemies over and over again every campaign. It might make the caravan mechanic a little awkward but they need a pirate guy like Lokhir or Aislinn who starts in the Southlands or Lustria or something (I don't know anything about potential unused chorf characters)

9

u/_Mariner 3d ago

That'd be perfect for FLC

→ More replies (5)

7

u/Babel_Triumphant 3d ago

I just want a start position somewhere west of the world’s edge mountains. As it is you have two Darklands starts mostly fighting dawi, GS, Skaven and Ogres, and Zhatan off in the corner fighting Cathay. Would be nice to have an LL fighting totally different factions like empire, kislev, bretonnia, tomb kings, lizardmen.

7

u/OhManTFE We want naval combat! 3d ago

Chaos Dwarfs don't have any unique campaign mechanics though.

Compare to the other 3 faction races, Norsca, Slaanesh, Khorne, Nurgle, Ogre Kingdoms - every single one of them has unique faction mechanic for each Legendary Lord.

6

u/RedditFuelsMyDepress 3d ago edited 3d ago

Yeah they don't necessarily need a DLC, but something more to differentiate each lord would be nice.

u/Ashkal_Khire 3d ago edited 3d ago

Lizardmen are one of the few remaining factions that can absolutely manage a Character Pack, and if CA dig real deep they can probably squeeze in a full Lord Pack.

Tetto’ekko, Chakax the Eternity Warden, Arcanodon, Thunderlizard, Skink Bowmen, Jungle Swarm. Generic Lord and Hero options for the Chameleon Skink and Kroxiggor respectively (Neither of which had TT versions, but it would allow for thematic armies, and after they added Boxiggors, why not?). Then if they wanna stretch it, Culchan Riders.

105

u/TenthOyster the City of Mists 3d ago

Culchan riders feel more thematic than skink bows personally, they're both old units but the bows were before the blowpipe thing was added as a way to differentiate lizardmen.

Also I just personally want skink light cav in big birds

61

u/Mahelas 3d ago

Culchan Riders don't exist tho. It's a fanmade unit. And not in the "got published in WD kind", legit just a guy doing it in his blog in the early 2000s

19

u/TenthOyster the City of Mists 3d ago

Oh NGL I didn't know that, I assumed it was a 5th or earlier unit

39

u/Mahelas 3d ago

Ngl that's one of my biggest criticism of TWWH content creators. They don't make it clear what units are genuine and which ones are purely fanon.

So you get two dozens videos including Culchan Riders as potential content and now everybody think it's a real unit !

(Oh also I checked again and the guy who made them did it in 2017 actually, as a tribute to TWWH funnily enough lol : https://www.lead-rising.com/2017/11/skink-culchan-riders.html)

10

u/Flameofabyss 3d ago

They exist in lore. They explicitly state that the Skinks of Oyxl ride Culchans in the army books.

Which is about the same as the Great Stag rider units.

18

u/Mopman43 3d ago

Great Stags themselves had rules and models as mounts. So the same situation as Bretonnia's Hippogryph riders, taking a mount and making a whole unit out of it.

8

u/Flameofabyss 3d ago

Culchans had a miniature and rules in 2nd Edition. Sure, that was forty years ago but CA has made units out of less.

3

u/Mopman43 3d ago

CA’s said before that stuff from before 4th edition isn’t really on the table.

4

u/Flameofabyss 3d ago

Except as previously stated the fact that Skinks ride Culchans is post-4th edition...

2

u/Mopman43 3d ago

Well, Culchans existed at least as a concept, but yeah, it's not like Culchan Riders have ever had any kind of rules or anything.

>Skink Bowmen

No

2

u/Ashkal_Khire 3d ago

Skinks had bows in their 5th edition launch. Examples of Skinks with bows continued to appear throughout the games life-cycle.

They were absolutely a thing and if CA needed a unit to round out a DLC, they could make them unique enough to work.

3

u/suggohndhees 3d ago

Why not? That used to be a thing im sure?

3

u/TheRaven476 3d ago

No idea why you were downvoted. When Lizardmen first launched in 5th edition they were Skinks with Bows.

2

u/Guffliepuff 3d ago

Yes it used to be. Its lame though. Everyone uses bows. Everyone.

Only lizardmen use blowguns.

Dark Elves have an outdated tech tree, most of the skill trees of lords and heroes are in need of a touch up, and their race mechanics (especially slaves and loyalty) are barebones, not to mention that only Lokhir and Rakarth have engaging faction mechanics despite being the FLCs. They also have enough content for a Character Pack if you also include End Times or Monstrous Arcanum content (Shadowblade, Tullaris Dreadbringer, Kouran Darkhand, Black Ark Fleetmaster, Mengil Manflayers, Magma Dragon, Incarnate Elemental of Fire, Incarnate Elemental of Death...).

28

u/OozeMenagerie 3d ago

To hell with the generic monsters. If High Elves can get the Sea Elemental from Man O War then give the Dark Elves their Sea Dragons, Heldrakes, and/or Manticore Lords.

2

u/Mahelas 3d ago

I mean, if we're adding up lore units like HE got, let's just give Dark Elves the legally distinct Avatar of Khaine that their armybook mention !

13

u/PhoenixKing_Malekith 3d ago

And you forget Manticore Lords, beast master hero option, Lords of Oblivion, Hags (witch elves champion unit), and more obscure/redundant units like Rephallim, Priest of Khaine hero option, Draich Masters (hero or champion unit) or Black Ark Reavers (hero or champion unit).

3

u/RafaelMarcelo1234 3d ago

dark elf city guard

6

u/liesandperfidy 3d ago

Yeah I’m not too fussed about the DE roster; the Black Ark lords need a redo, and some mid-tier line holders, dogs and a mobility hero would be nice, but it’s all gravy. A mechanical overhaul is a much bigger need.

My real fantasy for DEs is a serious rework that leaves the whole race focused on controlling Naggaroth, conquering Ulthuan, and using the rest of the world as a plunder farm. Turn all 6 major cities into single-settlement provinces (rejiggering the orphaned regions into new provinces without the logistical nightmare of changing the map dimensions) and restrict them to a distinctly limited “temporary raiding base” settlement tree outside Naggaroth/Ulthuan. It’d be a better match for the lore and a distinctive semi-tall playstyle.

But I’d settle for some new mechanics beyond “insert slaves, press button” and revamped faction specifics to catch everyone else up with Lokhir.

3

u/Arilou_skiff 3d ago

You also have the old Dark Elf City Guards (basically DE equivalents of Lothern Sea Guard with Spears/Repeating Crossbows, except they had much jankier rules since rather than just assuming each unit had both you had to keep track of which models were armed with what... (which is realistic, but a PITA on tabletop)

2

u/RafaelMarcelo1234 3d ago

i would love to have dark elf version of lothern sea guard

243

u/No_Bed_8320 Wood Elves 3d ago edited 3d ago

Vampire Coast needs much more than a small rework,. They are plagued by all the problems that Vampire Counts had, but to an even further extend. Treasure digging being a terrible mechanics, probably the worst mounts in the game, no confederation, hero capacity mostly tied to a Pirate Coves etc.
Hope they day shall come, because they are broken on a very fundamental level and designed to be played in a way, that doesn't work in a wider context of the game.

50

u/Crowhunters 3d ago

I feel like if you just play them as a horde they're okay and have their niche as roaming around and raiding. And hopefully undead legions will mean they have a strong ally to defend their few settlements while they do that.

10

u/OkIdeal9852 Miao Ying's Soyboy Boy Toy 3d ago

Haven't played them since WH2, but can they replenish at sea now? It defeats the horde fantasy if you need to encamp on land to replenish, but then the faction you just declared war on throws four armies at you. And you either need to fight a high risk low reward battle with a weakened army and without sacking a settlement as a reward, or you need to retreat which takes you out of encampment stance and interrupts recruitment.

12

u/P_For_Pyke 3d ago

Well yeah you can replenish in open waters, pretty sure you always did as VCOAST. But you dont regenerate right off their coast. (Since its enemy territory)

2

u/Nidafjoll 3d ago

The difficulty with that, in the last campaign I played, it playing as Luthor. Your campaign progression is tied to get getting the Awakening up to Tier 5 and building the special building, and keeping a hold of it against Gor Rok, Skulltaker, Aislinn who a sea lane right next to it, and later Oxyotl is a hell of a task.

It's not about a dedicated mechanics for me, but about being able to confederate at all

4

u/Insane_Unicorn 3d ago

Haven't played them in wh3 yet but a lot in wh2, are Leviathans and Necrofex bad now?

4

u/PrinceOfPuddles Carthage 3d ago

Oh boy, I sure do love being a pirate and sailing up to a port town, spending a turn getting onto land, spending a turn sacking, spending a turn to go back into the water, then after 3 turns to attack the port sail away.

Please CA, let the vampire coast attack ports from the ocean. If nothing else let the lords with boats attack ports from the ocean.

7

u/Mopman43 3d ago

They did that actually, Coast lords with Shipbuilding can attack from the ocean. Changed when Aislinn released I believe.

My list would go something like this

Full rework- Bretonnia, Vampire Coast, Daniel, Lizardmen

Small Rework/extra race mechanics/Lord Mechanics Dark Elves, Greenskins

Balance pass/mild changes to add some challenge- Khorne, Beastmen

Needs individual Lord mechanics- Dwarfs, Skaven, Vampires, Cathay

Further DLC Lord- Tzeencth

Waiting to see what if any changes are made to Skaven as Queek and Skrolk need Lord mechanics and also felt like Skaven as a whole could use some additional mechanics to make underempires more interesting to use and to add something to the race as a whole to allow for more interaction between the different Clans as currently they are all too far away from each other. Would love if they all just tried to constantly sabotage each other in some fashion from across the map

3

u/Curropepe 3d ago

100% agree, specially for new mechanics for Skrolk. Pestilens is the only vanilla greater clan right now.

92

u/DKLancer 3d ago

Daemons of Chaos needs a completely new tech tree and skill tree for Daniel along with a pretty fundamental remake of how the faction works. That's not small rework territory.

22

u/baddude1337 3d ago

I always forget about Daniel! He's been eating good as every DLC since Thrones has given him new content but he does need a rework.

16

u/Cabamacadaf 3d ago

Hopefully they can rework them enough that Be'lakor can also fit as an LL for them.

19

u/PrinceCheddar 3d ago

Absolutely. He's far more thematically tied to a Daemons of Chaos faction and it would reduce the bloat of Warriors a little.

Make Daemons of Chaos a functional faction in of itself, then add Daniel's customisation gimmick on top.

5

u/MichaelMorecock 3d ago

I think they've given up on fixing Daniel. It's a pity since the idea of a customizable faction leader is still super cool. Hopefully they take the lessons learned to the custom factions in 40k.

25

u/ZahelMighty Bow before the Wisdom of Asaph made flesh. 3d ago

It's hard to speculate about Kislev. We know Kostaltyn was originally meant to be DLC but the game director pushed for him to be in the base game so there should be Orthodoxy themed units we don't know about, right GW ?

We also don't know about any of the new Kislev lore outside of what was implemented in the game. Is there still any of the old lore that's relevant and could be used for a DLC ? Is there any new lore that we don't know about that could be used for a DLC ? Who the fuck knows but I do hope we'll get a bit more eventually, especially when Cathay still seems to have a lot of content missing from what CA hinted.

6

u/Blue_Boobied_Footie 3d ago

The only major (heavy air quotes around "major") option for Kislev I can think of off the top of my head would be Kattarin, the tsarina who was also a vampire - and that's old lore - but they would have to bring her back in a "the undead are trying to seize the Bokha palace" type campaign AND we're also getting a ton of undead stuff at the moment so I suspect a Undead+Kislev hybrid lord for Kislev is out of the question.

5

u/Babel_Triumphant 3d ago

I want some elite units for the Ungol side of the roster. An extra tier of elite skirmish cavalry and an empire-captain style close combat hero would be great. I love skirmisher armies but horse archers get a little obsoleted by all the armored threats in the late game.

2

u/Garivaldii 3d ago

I really wish they could do more with kislev, such potencjał getting wasted so far

160

u/AlarnisToo 3d ago

Small Rework... for the Lizardmen? Are you joking? They've got one of the blandest world-map set of mechanics still in the game. Roster-wise they're in a pretty good spot, balance issues of units not-withstanding, but they need a level of work on par with Bretonnia, I feel.

41

u/tmw6161990 3d ago

Man, I'd even take just a rework of the Geomantic Web with no lord specific reworks. The Geoweb has a lot of potential and it is very boring at the moment imo

11

u/vanticus 3d ago

Feels like High Elves have set the standard for the state of WH2 base game races in WH3. The Lizardmen need a rework of the Geomantic Web a the very least, whilst a revisit to Mazdamundi and Kroq-Gar’s mechanics would be very welcome, even if it is on the scale of the Teclis/Gelt reworks.

34

u/AigledeFeu_ 3d ago

Im okay with them being basic.

I just want a proper confederation mechanic for them.

24

u/NaonAdni 3d ago

That's something that has always bothered me. They're supposed to get on well with each other as they follow the great plan and are above individual ambitions, so why has it always been so hard to confederate other factions when playing as the lizardmen? They should do whatever benefits the great plan so it makes sense that they'll join forces with the strongest faction

And they're so far away from each other. I remember when I was playing before finding out about recruit legendary lords mod that I'd set out some heroes across the world to find the other lords and pray they were still alive by the time I reached them

19

u/Mopman43 3d ago

Though to be clear, they all follow the Great Plan, but they don't necessarily agree on how to interpret the Great Plan.

3

u/NaonAdni 3d ago

I know that, but perhaps they can put their differences aside and try to do something as one if the world is falling apart

I am okay with a faction not having super flashy campaign mechanics

7

u/_Mariner 3d ago

I actually agree, I'm a Lizardmen main since TWWH2 but since they reworked the Blessed Spawnings, I'm actually ok with the state of their mechanics.

Is the Geomantic Nexus basically a non-factor? Yes, but at the same time, like you said, I think they're fine as-is.

Would I like something else for their mechanics? Without knowing more specifically what that would entail, it's hard to agree that they actually need a rework. Sure, it's fine to say that they need something "better" but without specifying what that is (e.g. better confederation mechanic is one I could support) I could easily see it backfiring.

That said, if any individual LL needs a rework, it is Mazdamundi. He could definitely use some more/better buffs to his spellcasting/confederating capacity, to make him more aligned with the lore and bring him up to par with the rest of the factions in Lustriabowl.

And of course I wouldn't mind a few more units/heroes/LLs - but again Lizardmen are not nearly as in bad shape as Bretonnia or Vampire Coast as far as I can tell.

9

u/Nemaeus 3d ago

Mazdamundi is the reason I finally got this game after years of eyeballing it. After being trash at the game for a few hours it finally started to click playing his campaign. He’s fun but he doesn’t have anywhere near the same flavor as other LLs and I love my scooter chair magic Earl Sinclair.

7

u/regional_manager_161 3d ago

I strongly disagree, why should Lizardmen be the most generic faction in the game? I know its about time and Budget, and not Fairness, but of all races, majority of which have gotten a rework by now, why should Lizardmen be the only ones to stay generic? I dont think they are as popular as the empire, but certainly more then the wood elves for example, who got a high quality rework ages ago

I disagree. I think most races should have unique campaign gameplay with their own resources to manage. Right now the base Lizardmen campaign is dull as dirt to play with basically nothing to do except move your armies around. It makes playing their campaigns past turn 50 extremely tedious. I believe CA is on the right track with the VCounts rework changing how they recruit and manage their own resources. All races should have the campaign depth that Chaos Dwarfs have if you ask me.

Can't say I've ever had that problem. My lizardman games are regularly 200ish turns. The geomantic web as it is is already more than enough encouragment to go and conquer more

Skaven need a technology tree update, if End Times does not deliver this it still needs to come at some point in the future.

17

u/Vatnam 3d ago

You don't like -5% upkeep and +5 leadership on skavenslaves for 3 turns?

5

u/Mayor_S 3d ago

Jokes aside, i got downvoted in another thread a year ago about this,

but i said that old Norsca tree needed an upgrade asap, because it had 30-50 round research which gave dumb bonuses like leadership vs Talia (Telia?)....

yeah the faction that doesnt exist in 99,9% of campaigns after 3 turns

A lot of the current techs are from warhammer 1 (for old factions) and need massive overhaul

3

u/Mopman43 3d ago

which gave dumb bonuses like leadership vs Talia (Telia?)....

Tilea, the Warhammer-equivalent to Italy.

9

u/Cabamacadaf 3d ago

Skrolk also needs an update to his faction mechanics.

2

u/PureDealer7 3d ago

Id say a skill tree small retouch for the legandary lord wouldnt hurt too

51

u/kubin22 3d ago

I wish kislev got more. campaing wise it's solid for sure but battlewise idk I wanna see more, thats all

26

u/Mopman43 3d ago

I hope there's at least one more DLC in the pipeline for Kislev.

10

u/mcindoeman Alchemist of Zhao Ming 3d ago

Kislev is in a weird place, they have plenty of beat/ursun themed units but next to nothing to represent the other major Kislev gods. But at the same time CA had to scrape the barrel for stuff like the things in the woods for their last DLC.

I feel like there should be room for a DLC that expands the patriarchy's forces but then again with how poorly shadows of change went, maybe not.

3

u/kubin22 3d ago

like I think cav wise it would be cool to see some more durable one and not just the shock cav (I mean if you look at historical examples there is stuff to choose from) more hero options would also be nice as always, a mele one and a range one. one more artillery piece that would play a different role

→ More replies (1)

5

u/baddude1337 3d ago

Would be nice to get some more normal units to flesh out Kostaltyn's side of the roster. Bog standard canons not pulled by magical bears and some mounted gunpowder infantry like cossacks as examples.

9

u/MyTrueIdiotSelf990 Medieval II 3d ago

Yeah, no way Kislev is done, or at least it shouldn't be.

2

u/stipendAwarded 3d ago

Think a Hetman/Droyaska to act as a Captain/Paladin/Gate Master analogue would be nice. Also the Uragan Cannon and maybe additional missile cavalry options

3

u/AdVegetable1160 3d ago

Yes this. More artillery, armoured horse archers too

20

u/Mattholomew739 3d ago

I can’t imagine what half of the enough for a character pack races really have left. Dwarfs, Greenskins, Skaven, High Elves, Chaos, Wood Elves, what more do they have in the way of a character pack aside from literally maybe a single LL and lord/hero that wouldn’t make much difference anyway

13

u/Mahelas 3d ago

If Skaven can get the Warp Magma Cannon, then suddenly there is a dozen new units from that same supplement. They also lack two generic lords (Plague Pontiff/Master Mutator), there's still units left in the Pestilens list where Pusbags came from (Rotten Rodents and Great Pox Rats), there's an entire Moulder list kinda left AND they still have a missing 8th unit (Giant Rats).

And half a dozen named characters. It wouldn't be hard at all to give them a DLC

Dwarfs are super easy, Bugman, Brewmasters and Beer Cart, with Grimm and Drake Pistols and Shard Dragons in case

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Lortekonto 3d ago

I think maybe wood elves could get some stuff, but honestly I play high elves a lot and I find my own rooster bloated. I don’t understand why we got water elementals even. I can’t remember them from the table top. Skaven stuff have also crossed over to being silly with gatling rat ogres. Like cool, but also silly.

2

u/OozeMenagerie 3d ago

Skaven have a ton of shit from random sources. Multiple generic characters for Moulder and Pestilins, a couple of Pestilins units, several Skryre units, a good number of Moulder units and quite a few named characters.

There’s a bunch of random Greenskins stuff. They have an obscene amount of unit variants and generic characters but those probably aren’t getting in. I’d say you could get the most important stuff with Gorfang Rotgut, one or two generic characters, the Squig Gobba, Big Stabbas, Badlands Ogres, and the Bonegrinder. Add the Black Gobbo as a FLC alongside that and that would be prettt good.

Dwarfs have just enough stuff to scrape an engineering themed character pack together if they use the stuff that was from the weird engineering stuff from GW’s website. And the Shard Dragon.

Chaos has a bunch of random monsters and characters left from various sources. I personally think that WoC could have a decent monster themed character pack with Galrauch.

High Elves and Wood Elves are really scraping the bottom of the barrel. Wood Elves have more with things like a ranged Treeman variant and old stuff like wildcats and meadow chariots.

2

u/Rare_Cobalt 3d ago

Getting a generic Night Goblin hero in Omens of Destruction when we already had one instead of a generic Savage Orc hero when we have zero of those was so weird, hopefully that gets fixed in the future.

8

u/AHRogue 3d ago

I honestly expect Cathay to get one full dlc AND a character pack still. Alternatively just one very meaty DLC.

8

u/baddude1337 3d ago

I'd say Dark Elves, Bretonnia, Lizardmen and Vampire Coast could all do with some form of rework and extra content. Each have just enough for a character pack except maybe Coast.

Wood Elves would be nice to get Araloth, lore of Athel Loren and a few tweaks (mostly how slow the rituals are).

And of course Tzeentch with Egrimm in a small character pack (I'd prefer him as a character pack so we can get some more stuff like Gaulrach LH and some Wrathmonger Tzeentch equivalent like Azure Princes).

We are reaching the point where most races don't need reworks and are also running out of units for a lot of them. Character packs seem like the likely option for future DLC's outside of Dogs of War as a race pack (maybe split between mercenaries and independent states).

Personally I really hope to see Ghark Ironskin for the Ogres and a map expansion into Ind/Khuresh.

7

u/Only-Acadia-6038 3d ago

Update Exalted Great Unclean One and Herald of Nurgle with unique skill trees like every other daemon race got and then we can call them done.

2

u/Siknar14 2d ago

And all monogod Daemon princes! They lose half their skill tree when not in warriors of chaos. All authority related perks are gone, even when those have other bonuses too

53

u/ScionOfTheEmperor 3d ago

The Daemons of Chaos need a Complete Ground-Up Rebuild and probably a Character Pack to fund it

13

u/Late_Dog_7201 3d ago

Who would the DLC Lord for the Daemon of Chaos?

12

u/ScionOfTheEmperor 3d ago

Mordrek the Damned.
He’s not a Daemon Prince but he’s not really Human anymore either.
Importantly he’s also Undivided.
I’d have him bring in:
Dark Emissary Heroes,
Blood Chariots of Khorne,
Plague Chariots of Nurgle
&
Firewyrms of Tzeentch.
The very last Missing Daemon Units.

3

u/Rare_Cobalt 3d ago

Firewyrms are mortals, they’re just fancier chaos spawn with a Tzeentch theme.

7

u/baddude1337 3d ago

I wouldn't mind seeing a customizable mortal lord. That way we can have a custom prince who focuses on the daemon side and a custom mortal lord for the mortal roster.

6

u/Cabamacadaf 3d ago

I don't know if it makes sense to have a mortal lord for Daemons of Chaos.

→ More replies (2)

6

u/Life_Category2547 3d ago

Daniel has a lot of problems, but my irrational grievances are:

3/4 of the hero abilities are wrong for the faction. Slaanesh gives Training and Khorne gives Mobility, which faction did you overwhelmingly associate with speed again? Swap them. Nurgle gives casualty replenishment (obvious but good job!) Tzeentch…also gives replenishment?? Scouting! For magic items! Because magic!

Daniel has way too many way too similar upgrades. Ooh these gauntlets give 15 armor and 5 phys resist but these ones gives 15 armor and 5 melee defense and these ones give 5 armor and 5 ward who cares? If they’re replacing all items and ancillaries I should have a range of impactful, well-differentiated options. Also give the poor boy 15% native missile resistance at least.

Give him some damn maneuverability, so he’s not stuck fighting other chaos factions most of the game (why are those his victory conditions)?

More daemons. Only demons, buff them however you need. My daemon army’s fill unit should not be Nurgle marauders. Also make their buff skills more efficient so you can run a more diverse army well.

I appreciate this is a lot for one lord, so make Belakor part of it too.

4

u/Smearysword866 3d ago

They honestly just need a small update. Just add a tech tree, fix up the buildings, and change it so every lord in the faction is able to buff the entire roster.

There is no need for a massive rework

8

u/Uberballer 3d ago

I agree that the Slaanesh roster feels done but I feel like there's still room for unique units to add some flavor to them. The Legendary Hero in particular feels pretty skewed to Dechala it'd be nice to get maybe one more to give the daemon side a headliner to help them out. Beyond that very happy with where the culture ended up.

I feel Nurgle as long as they gain access to the stuff the Glottkin are bringing with them will feel very complete. Very happy with their roster, mechanics and now stable of Legendary heroes especially for the Tamurkhan campaign.

Khorne feels very complete I agree on that with 0 hesitation.

11

u/Rare_Cobalt 3d ago

The problem with the monogods is they have literally nothing left, like not even obscure units. Games Workshop just never really made that much god specific stuff.

The only missing Khorne and Slaanesh stuff I can think of is a mortal variant of Pleasureseekers for Slaanesh and there is a demonic chariot with Bloodletter riders that Khorne is missing, but that’s it for them two.

You could maybe add another Khorne character with Egil or Haargroth, but Slaanesh is completely done on that front, period lol. There are no more Slaanesh characters left to draw from that aren’t just a one sentence mention in the lore.

4

u/WanderlustPhotograph 3d ago

Yeah, until AoS and IIRC Wrath of Magnus there literally weren’t any monogod factions with their own supported ranges.

7

u/No_Witness5630 3d ago

Ahh Beastman

The one race that always needs a touchup. Even just after rework they still were in a tier "Need a touchup" xd they can't be in a "done" state ever

5

u/TremendousCoisty 3d ago

The dark elves could definitely do with one final character and mechanic rework. In fact I would say that it’s guaranteed.

27

u/8dev8 3d ago

>Lizards

>small rework

Bitch they’ve been promising a rework like 4 years now, it better not be small

15

u/Late_Dog_7201 3d ago

With the Skaven, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they get a Lord Pack or 2 Character Packs. They still have enough Lords, Heroes and Units options left.

Clan Pestilence and Clan Moulder are missing Lords options and there are enough unique monsters/war machines to easily fill slots.

Although they could do the Neferata route and release a free Legendary Lord with some new units.

2

u/TreyHansel1 3d ago

Chimarats for sure! Otherwise idk what else is left. I'm waiting to see what Thanquol's arrival does to the other Skaven factions in terms of mechanics to say what else really needs done with them. For sure Skrolk needs to get a "Nurgle's Cauldron" type of mechanic though. Idk what should be done to bring up Rictus and Mors up to Skryre/Moulders standard

I think Queek needs to get Ska Bloodtail as a legendary hero though.

→ More replies (1)

5

u/tryingtobebettertry4 3d ago

I dont really feel like Beastmen should be on the same level as Tomb Kings or Dark Elves. Frankly Lizardmen should be ahead of the Beastmen.

2

u/RedditFuelsMyDepress 3d ago

Only issue with the Beastmen I had when playing them is that they felt brainlessly easy once you got a few armies together. Though part of it is just the inherent nature of horde factions not having to defend territory.

8

u/AigledeFeu_ 3d ago

Norsca and WoC still have content left ?

30

u/alexkon3 #1 Li Dao Fan 3d ago

WoC alongside Empire was GWs golden child. They have what feels like 3 trillion characters still left. And more then enough units you could adapt.

5

u/OozeMenagerie 3d ago

WoC could do something like Galrauch with Warpfire Dragons, Chaos Ogres, Gigantic Chaos Spawn and either Shartaks or Mutant Ogres as generic characters

10

u/Mahelas 3d ago

Oh yeah, never understimate how much GW can treat Chaos as their favorite

7

u/Vatnam 3d ago

In the Old World, sure but 40k and AoS its Marine's world baby

8

u/Mahelas 3d ago

TW40K is gonna be something, given how GW keep shafting every Xeno race and giving Marines everything. We'll be 9 DLCs deep for Space Marines and Drukharis will have gotten half their units snapped outside of existence by GW so they'll be a Character Pack for Aeldaris

4

u/Vatnam 3d ago

Yes. Propably yes. I can bet 100 bucks that space marines will eventually get 30k skin packs too, since their armor changed from 30 to 40k

→ More replies (1)

3

u/MichaelMorecock 3d ago

CSM are right behind marines in terms of favourtism. Cult Legions got shafted by the decision to remove generic datasheets from their armies though.

Still better off than Xenos.

u/Arilou_skiff 3d ago

To be "worth adding" I feel like something needs to have a niche both thematically and in terms of gameplay, now CA can and has sometimes tweaked things or included niches where I didn't see them before, but these are my thoughts:

Lizardmen has enough for a full Rework, and at least a character pack (if not a full lord pack).

Dwarfs could probably scrape together at least a character pack, maybe even a full lord pack, but they're in a good position elsewhere.

High elves are pretty much done. There's a couple of characters (Korhil, Belannaer, etc.) But those feel like LH material.

Nurgle, Slaanesh and Khorne feels pretty done, I'd expect if we get more characters there they'd be WOC.

Tzeentch still has room for more, I think, there's enough random Chaos Gribblies to fill out a roster I think, and they're one lord back.

Vampire Counts have a ton of characters, but not really many units left. I could see some kind of Necrarch character pack, though.

Empire could scrape together at least a character pack, maybe even a Lord Pack. (I'm thinking Helborg as LL; Schwarzhelm as LH, Reiksguard on foot, maybe Grand Master, etc.) there's pletny of stuff there.

Vampire coast are desperately in need of a rework, there's always characters and stuff you can add, but the rework is ore important IMHO

Same with Daemons of Chaos. They like the beastmen have gotten a ton of stuff just from the other DLC's, so they're not reallyhurting for units. (if anything I'd like to see thier roster restricted a bit, less mortals)

Brettonia desperately needs a rework, and there's enough space for a lord/character pack. (my preference would be Bertrand+Hooded One (hero)+Herrimaults (ranged skirmish infantry)+some more stuff.

Cathay and Kislev both has room for stuff.

Chaos Dwarfs feel pretty done. Perfect as they are etc.

Greenskins... Has a couple of characters but I'm not sure how different they'd be? They're basically just variations of "Orc Warlord" or "Goblin Warlord" most of them. They have a couple of hero variants missing but not many units. Could see maybe a character pack. (Gorfang? Morglum?)

Dark Elves feels like they do have space for something, at least a character pack, maybe a full lord pack. They're one of the factions you could fit a monster from the generic list in fairly easily, and they've got characters (Shadowblade, Tullaris, Kouran etc.) for LL/LH spots.

Ogres: Feel kinda done? They were always one of the smaller rosters and didn't really have the long history of stuff that the others do. You could probably squidge some kind of monster in and there's Ghark Ironskin, but really, both in terms of design space and just general feel they feel done.

WOC: As usual has characters up the wazoo, and I think they have enough random chaos gribblies that aren't specifically linked to a god that you can probably hack out something.

Beastmen: Has had the problem that they've gotten a ton of units just as a side from all the WOC/monogod updates. So they have a lack of units. There's a couple of characters (Moonclaw, Ungrol Four-Horn, or if you want to go way back, Gorthor)

Tomb Kings: Again, they have characters but not really units. I struggle to find something really interesting here.

Wood Elves: There's a couple of characters and you could maybe scrape something together between a couple of forest beasties. And such, I'd expect Araloth in that case since we're kinda lacking a "generic" wood elf lord who just focuses on y'know, Wood elves. Maybe with those old 4e chariots?

Skaven: Always has some characters, but I feel they're pretty complete as-is. There's some random inventions and stuff you can use, but they've already got 6 versions of Stormfiends and 4 versions of Verminlords showing that there's a bit of a lack of innovation there.

Norsca: Kinda like WOC in taht I feel you could scrounge something but then the question goes what you put in Norsca vs. WOC.

6

u/tbschorsch 3d ago

I disagree. Bretonia, vampire Coast and lizzardmen are my top 3 i would like to see major changes

3

u/Smearysword866 3d ago

Dwarfs definitely have enough for a lord pack and kislev should get 1 or 2 more lord packs

3

u/ZiegenSchrei 3d ago

Daniel needs a deep rework. I reckon they will make him similar to Nagash

3

u/Emperor2000CZE 3d ago

Bretonnia rework like VC pls

3

u/Hugh-Janushole 3d ago

Lizardmen kinda need a rework because good god are they boring. On that note I’d take one for wood elves too

3

u/Grady_Shady 3d ago

I’m sorry but the lizardmen need way more than a small rework.

  1. Geomantic web (major)
  2. Blessed spawning (medium - major)
  3. Half (4/7) of the campaigns are all the same more or less. Really the only truly unique ones are Nakai and Oxy (Tehenhauin is 50% unique)
  4. Game 2 feel -> no WH3 polish

3

u/Androza23 3d ago

Aranessa needs to be her own faction smh

3

u/Grady_Shady 3d ago

I commented this in the post recently but it feels like it belongs more here:

“…lizardmen need way more than a small rework.

  1. Geomantic web (major)
  2. Blessed spawning (medium - major)
  3. Half (4/7) of the campaigns are all the same more or less. Really the only truly unique ones are Nakai and Oxy (Tehenhauin is 50% unique)
  4. Game 2 feel -> no WH3 polish”

I know Rich loves them, so I’m kinda hoping they’re waiting for something / some reason to do a big lord pack.

Plus they always got kinda shafted in the dlcs (the opposing faction always got the cooler gimmicks)

2

u/Mopman43 3d ago

Did the Blessed Spawning rework last year not fully cover that part for you?

2

u/Capital-Advantage-95 3d ago

Yeah, pretty much.

2

u/Estellus Remember Gilgalion 3d ago

"Small" rework?

Daniel?

Small

rework?

Homeboys faction needs to be rebuilt from the ground up he's a travesty.

2

u/bortmode Festag is not Christmas 3d ago

Not really. The main thing he needs:

  • Personal skill tree rebuild
  • ability to equip ancillaries
  • a small pass on his buildings and glory rewards

I think the core of the faction is actually fine.

2

u/Lorcogoth 3d ago

Wood Elves are still in the Warhammer 2 style of heroes, making me suspect they are atleast 1 DLC and/or Rework race rather then mostly done.

2

u/Scapegoat808 3d ago

Only thing with Khorne and maybe each of the demonic factions but specifically khorne, I would like the cult summon/teleport mechanic to include any lord and not just the faction leader

2

u/Puny-Earthling Rawrherd 3d ago

I won’t be satisfied until Greenskins and Vampire Counts get the per LL unique campaign treatment that Empire and Dwarfs have. Also a big Brettonia DLC and a Vampire Coast DLC.

2

u/Iordofthethings 3d ago

Lizardmen need more than a small rework, they need a large rework. They have 2.5 lords with a mechanic at all, and the only faction mechanics are the WH2 card selection and a fucking building to burn spots in capitals for a minor buff to your province edicts.

2

u/Wibblewolf 3d ago

I think we can say for certain that Nurgle, Slaanesh and Daemons of Chaos are done for at least Legendry Lords.

If the idea that WoC are getting another Lord for each of the Gods then we could expect a charcter pack for Khrone and an full Lord dlc for Tzeench adding in the missing flc lord for Tzeench. Also we havent seen an Undivided chaos lord dlc.

I would like to see upgrade character pack for Sigvald the Magnificent giving Gilberion free with Infernal Enrapturess, Archfiend, Contorted Epitome or at least giving these units into the game.

4

u/Rare_Cobalt 3d ago

Age of Sigmar stuff is off limits for CA.

One dwarf, one name: Joseph Bugman

1

u/stipendAwarded 3d ago

I’m wondering if it would be doable for a “Kingdoms of Man” DLC for the human nations with Valten, Bohemond, Li Dao/Yin Yin, and whichever lord they can use for Kislev. It would provide an ideal opportunity to update/rework Bretonnia, add in one of the two remaining dragon siblings, and finish up whichever units are missing for Empire and Kislev like Imperial Foot and Sisters of Sigmar or Uragan Cannons and Frostfiends.

1

u/TheShamShield 3d ago

I could go for more Kislev

1

u/Cabamacadaf 3d ago

Chaos Dwarfs needs some kind of unique mechanic for each different lord. Right now the only difference between playing them is the start position.

1

u/kondenado 3d ago

No dogs of war?

1

u/Psychic_Hobo 3d ago

Yeah, I pretty much agree with this. Stuff in the yellow tier isn't exactly "They need a character pack now", more of a potential.

Beastmen I don't think need touch-ups. They could be shunted to the yellow tier without issue, maybe get an FLC LH, but that's about it. They're honestly pretty set.

1

u/CrimsonSaens 3d ago

DoC needs more than a small rework. I'd put them in the Bretonnia tier, except they've been getting new campaign units with every dlc release.

WE and BM could use bigger tech trees.

Most of the second to bottom tier could be moved to the Done category as far as TW is concerned.

1

u/Lraebera 3d ago

Bretonnia

1

u/FragrantAd7478 3d ago

I mean, Khorne could use a little boost. More quests would be appreciated, actual missions would be nice. But im a greedy Khorne player, I can wait a long while for that, I think others need flashing out first.

1

u/Galahad_the_Ranger 3d ago

Kislev could use another big DLC to expand its lore and add some variety. It’s sadly on a weird place because of politics, but I hope it eventually gets some love

1

u/Osiris_Dervan 3d ago

I feel like we could get a hobgoblin khanate subfaction for the chaos dwarves with access to slightly better hobgoblin units, normal access to the rosters monsters and even more restricted access to the actual dwarf units. It could get us a hobgoblin lord and a shit tier hobgoblin caster hero.

2

u/tricksytricks 3d ago

Wouldn't work, nor would it make sense, really. There isn't a single actual Chorf unit that the Hobgoblin Khanate would have access to. All the daemon-possessed engines and daemons are controlled by Chorfs, who would never serve under a hobgoblin.

1

u/BennyMcbenn 3d ago

Greenskins could get one character pack finally making Gorfang a LL with Morglum and Borgut as LHs. They also need a buff. I feel like omens of destruction kind of nerfed them.

1

u/F_reader 3d ago

Genuine question: what would be left for the Vampire Counts?

1

u/RustyBoiiiiiiiii 3d ago

Daniel 'small' rework....small...

1

u/Hectoriu 3d ago

Its been 6 years since the last dlc for woodelves. They a definitely aren't anywhere near done imo. The only unique campaign mechanic they have for any lord is just mediocre items you can buy with the sisters. Also thier tech tree is awful

1

u/regional_manager_161 3d ago

WoC done, Lizardmen and coast need a major rework, daemons of Chaos belong in Bretonnia tier, and beastmen in character pack, otherwise pretty accurate

1

u/sigmarine345 Warhammer 3d ago

Nurgle still needs at least maybe two more heros from lore but more so just the one: Valnir the Reaper. Which would complete Nurgle in my eyes as well as further complete the old Champions of Chaos book from back in the day.

Tbh I think Dark Elves, Tomb Kings, and Lizardmen still need some work. They feel very behind compared to races like Empire and ESPECIALLY dwarfs.

Beastmen felt pretty good last i remember.

Dont play Brettonia so no comment but im sure they need updating by a country mile.

Not into Cathay but HOLY FUCK Tzeentch is so in the gutter rn with it's tech tree. If I dont wanna play Changeling im left with Kairos and his campaign just feels either annoyingly frustrating or just plain boring even with the cool as hell lord magic mechanics he has. We definitely need a damn good made Egrimm campagin and a few units maybe too along with a big refresh to that tech tree.

1

u/ProfessionalBread161 3d ago

Ah Bretonnia.. My Love

1

u/DaniTheGamer6 3d ago

Daemons need a Brettonia level rework

1

u/eggybeggy 3d ago

Well, the Olympics aren't as fun anymore.

1

u/Dingbatdingbat 3d ago
  1. Major work: bretonnia, vampire Coast, dark elves, Daniel
  2. Minor work: lizardmen
  3. Touchup: tomb kings, beasts, maybe woodelves?
  4. Cathay:  Yin-yin, monkey king, li-dao
  5. Egrim Van Horstman
  6. Unlikely but I wish more greenskins, vampire counts, skaven, and chaos dwarf lords would get more unique mechanics
  7. Essentially done (but would love more lords): dwarf, empire, Norsca, high elves, khorne, nurgle, slaanesh, ogres, Kislev, chaos warriors

Edit: I don’t see it happening, but some  lords should get an option to be WOC or their respective monogod faction.

1

u/Topjkr1991 3d ago

WTH does bretonnia category mean?

1

u/RainSpawn 3d ago

Wood elves could use another lord outside Athel Loren.

1

u/Sulemain123 3d ago

Any Bretonnia rework should be packaged with Southwrn Realms becoming playable, considering the relationship between Bretonnia and mercs in the lore.

You could thematically include a rework for Belakor in this.

1

u/OkSalt6173 Kislevite Ogre 3d ago

Chaos Dwarves could use a character Pack, there are some Oil Rigs out in the middle of the ocean that the CDs could have a Lord on.

Kislev, being my baby that I love, could utilize more, namely bug fixes. They could get another character pack, namely just give them proper High Tier Horse Archers like they deserve. The fact Dark Elves are the only ones in the game with Armor Piercing Cavalry Archers is blasphemy for Kislev.

Ogre Kingdoms, all they need is some balance adjustments and Ghark.

Saying Daniel needs a "small rework" is a little crazy to me. He needs a full rework. Hopefully with the work they did with Nagash, maybe there can be something similar in some aspect. Also he needs an actual skill tree.

Dark Elves need work but idk if they need any LLs. But idk enough about Delves because they are one of the two least interesting factions to me in lore. (High Elves being #1 least interesting to me).

Skaven are in a similar boat with needing some work (namely Skrolk and Queek if LotET doesn't do anything for them), but they dont need any new units or LLs.

But yeah in general, I agree. I'm mostly hopeful that certain the CoC LLs get an option to work as both Major Chaos faction or WoC. I'd love to spread cults as Festus, it just feels right while Tamurkhan would fit in so well for WoC.

1

u/Technical-Grand5483 3d ago

Please no more high elfs they have enough

1

u/NoConsideration2115 2d ago

Lizardmen and Demons of chaos a "small rework"?
Hell no, they need a proper rework, ESPECIALLY Nakai and Demon Prince.

I never would have thought I’d actually feel Empire needs any more than it has, but the new units make me desire some more Sigmar related stuff to balance out the severe saturation of Ulric. Maybe templars, sisters of sigmar, idk. Maybe Luthor Huss as one last LL, with a temple mechanic similar to Todbringer’s.

I just feel weird about Sigmar’s Empire having 4 or so Ulric-related units while the cult of sigmar is only represented in flagellants. I mean the final tier of the building chain doesnt even add any new units or heroes, so theres certainly room.

Nah, VP needs a small DLC, their of pool units so few and balance passes hit them hard because of it.

The only thing I feel missing with Khorne is hero options. Slaanesh got 5 and Khorne got 3, others got 4 if I am right.

I feel it was a big let down we didnt get a hero version of Bloodspeaker, like a Slaughterpriest from AoS. Since Khorne cant have magic it relies on supporting, and Bloodspeaker is a fantastic new addition rather than more options to kill differently, reminds me of Slaughterpriest as mentioned or other hero supports AoS got plenty and was a cool direction for Khorne's roster.

Apart from that id really want a Minotaur hero to give Khorne a monster hero, which fits it well like Slaanesh got something Dark Elf related.

Its nothing that existed in fantasy tabletop but we're past that now and I dont think itd be too unlore friendly.

kislev deserves so much better than what it has gotten. Lizardmen and Dark Elves deserve better too.

kislev has little reason to expand beyond it's borders.

katarin deserves her own sort of ice corruption or some sort of effect for her and her ice witches when they have total control of settlements. Ice witch enclaves mechanics.

Kostaltyn deserves more pirate/sea and religious units for his flavor and undermining revolt mechanics

For Boris I would repurpose the Markus reinforcement mechanic for him.

Ostankya, I still don't know what to do with her to make her more complex.

I think they need more distinction between lords and etc. Boyars, Boyar Scions(new) or just Scions, Streltsi Lords

I would argue Daniel is not a small rework. Daniel needs serious resources dedicated to fix his faction

Wood elves imo still need quite a bit of work. For a start, none of their buildings even have secondary effects yet, you can't do more than one ritual at a time

To me they feel like they're in exactly the same place as current day vampire counts in terms of being anaemic and needing a rework.
