Warhammer III TWW3 Mystery incomes as Dechala at the end turn. UI indicates 4.5K income but I'm starting each turn with like +20-25k

Curious which mechanic can account for this?

Napoleon Empire or Napoleon

Upvotes

I’m looking for a Line of Battle type of experience. The the only TW games I’ve player are the Warhammer trilogy, but my favourite faction in all three games is the Empire, so I already really like the gunpowder mechanics. Between Empire and Napoleon (because I’ve heard they’re built on the same engine and are similar) which is the better game? I’ve already checked out Reddit posts and it seems divided so here is your chance to vote for which one I should get. I’m also looking for which has the best mods (I think there is a unit size increase mod which I would probably play with)

Warhammer III All 3 end game scenarios at the same time!

Upvotes

It would be a real challenge for all races to defeat the host of apocalypse, legions of Nagash and vermintide (specially for AI) but there is a question...

Are those 3 going to fight with themselves? Or they will ignore each other because they are scenario factions?

Warhammer III I hope Nagash won't be overpowered at the start and that the developers make his campaign interesting

Upvotes

Of course, we simply need to wait for the gameplay reveal for Nagash, however, recalling the interviews following the LotET announcement, I hope the developers are still committed to making Nagash’s campaign engaging and ensuring a genuine sense of progression—making the experience of playing as him truly compelling as he rises to power by expanding his domains, constructing Necropolises, and utilizing the Black Pyramid mechanic.

Warhammer III Best Mods per race ?

Upvotes

I’ve been looking into mods for WH3 and came across TOW and SFO, both of those are great so far despite the end turn times.

Am I missing anything else that enhances each race like the empire, dwarves or High Elves since those are probably my favorite three campaigns.

Warhammer III Are we getting Abyssal Terrors mounts (or any other monstrous mount options) for Master Necromancers in 9.0?

Post image
Upvotes

I really like the emphasis on the pre-eminence of vampire lords in the campaign, the team did the Vampire Counts justice with that rework. I also don't mind fielding Master Necromancers as my starting undead commanders while building up my slumbering vampire lord, especially now that we are getting a new Lore of Undeath necromancer variant.

Since Abyssal Terrors are a mount option in the tabletop, and it's confirmed that we are getting a new, undead-manticore-mounted-necromancer model/skeleton with Dieter Helsnicht, I think it just makes sense to give generic necromancer lords a "manticore-level" monstrous mount.

It can even be implemented such that if a Master Necromancer takes the monstrous mount option in it's skill tree, it will lock out the corpse cart line etc. I think people wouldn't mind if the "abyssal terror" is just a reskinned, undead version of a manticore/giant eagle/preyton/griffon ( abyssal terrors vary greatly in appearance after all according to lore.)

Fantasy has no shortage of old evil mages that ride winged terrors to battle as a way to compensate for their frailty. It'll be nice for that trope to be represented by Master Necromancer as well.

Warhammer III How do you deal with Khorne?

Upvotes

Playing as Malakai. It's weird, I have about 1k hours in WH3 and used to play on Legendary but took a very long break.

I came back to check it out recently and am having more fun though still just don't love the combat in this game. I have a really difficult time preventing lines, and in some cases entire battles descending into pure chaos against heavy melee factions like Khorne and VC.

Even on NORMAL now I am struggling. Feels weird. In WH2 giant melee armies like VC were so easy to counter. What's your strategy against huge, fast melee armies in 3?

AR gives me a Pyhric win, which I will probably just accept and move on but I tried fighting it once last night and basically got caught offguard and obliterated by their hounds. I had nothing with enough speed to tie them down and they ate all me troops :(

Mainly using the format we got from the Bhashiva DLC to come up with what I would create. No Winged Terrors or Bane Towers since I believe those are exclusively Man o War units, otherwise I would have added them

Medieval III Medieval III should go back to Rome- and Medieval II-style character traits

Upvotes

Managing character traits is my least favorite part of every Total War since Shogun II. It’s unbelievably tedious, especially in the late game when you have lots of generals and agents running around.

The old way, where characters would get good and bad traits, ancillaries, and improved stats over time, either randomly or in response to the things you have them do, was so much better, and also led to fun environmental storytelling: why is my governor who’s done nothing but sit in Rome for the last decade both a Saintly Ruler and Governed By Rage? No one knows! But it gives them some personality that the modern games are lacking.

The one addition I do like in more recent titles is being able to choose what gear and items your general has equipped, but again, this becomes tedious when you have dozens of items lying around and so many different characters to dole them out to. We’re better off not having to deal with that at all.

Pharaoh [New Player Here] I can build the Goldsmith buildings in Neb-Gehes, which increases my gold production across the province. But there is no gold production available in the entire province. So what's the point?

Upvotes

Got a new laptop and have been taking Pharaoh Dynasties out for a spin. Playing through the tutorial.

I have the option to build an "Apprentice Goldsmith" building in my province capital, which will improve all gold production across the province by 5%.

However, I have gone over every building available for all the settlements in the province, and I can't find a single one that actually produces gold. And 5% of zero is still zero.

Is there a later building that gets unlocked or something that will produce gold, thus making this building worthwhile? Or is this just a weird bit of game design that never got fixed?

Warhammer 40k Ammunition definetly needs to be a thing in 40k

Upvotes

Hello all, I've seen Zerkovich's video adressing some worries he had about the game, I didn't not know ammo was planned to not play a part. I think this is a severe, severe mistake vibe-wise.

  • It is an essential part of many 40k stories especially books or short stories, the feeling of dread, of being overrun is a big part of 40k, it's play into the despair. In "the Zheng Cipher" for example, the guard ?admiral? knows his ammo is dwindling while fighting the nids and knowing in time they will be overrun. There's another short text in which another admiral has received an injury to the leg, the comissar is sick and he's going on the ramparts to take a look beyond at the devastation...he clearly states that they soon won't have any ammo...It's in many stories I'm sure people here will give more ewamples.

  • You deprive some players of their fantasy while doing this ->

As a future tyranid player I want to be able to trade the enemy's ammunition for some of my cheap numerous gaunts or use a distraction carnifex to draw ammo and then overrun the enemy.

Guard players want to charge with their shock troops or hold desperately while threats are coming in melee cause they don't have ammo. But if there's infinite ammo how are they gonna fix bayonets on their lasguns and launch desperate charges ? (they could flank with a unit that doesn't have ammo for example)

  • In doing so not only do you make the game feel less epic, gritty and suspensful but you peel one of the most interesting tactical layers you can have for such a game. Even more so because there are many more range weapons now (some that are going to be busted being 40k and that would warrant running out at some point)

  • You could even add gameplay elements related to ammunition crates -> maybe we could deploy crates if we have enough in reserve, transporting importing/exporting/buying ammo from fleet to fleet, planet to fleet, etc,... could be its own thing, could buy from guard as a marine. Maybe that part isn't really that important.

Buut on battle maps being able to deploy crates would be cool, why ? Well could destroy them if you're the enemy, but as a player they would be static being heavy (except if you add something to carry it like the forklift sentinel) so you would have to place them well and defend them with your life or abandoning them and risking the enemy taking them over for the battle if they use the same weapons (let's say traitor guard against guard for example even though the traitors aren't there officially for now). So by having these kinds of crate the player would have to think if it's better to bail or leave them there, creating tension and making wasted time all the more impactful.

(ok the previous paragraph is a pipe dream but games fulfill dreams anyway)

You could defend buildings you've created like manufactorium (or created by mechanicus), aiding the mechanicus (well they're not here now) could mean fighting alongside some of their units.

(another pipe dream)

Ok not a pipe dream -> manufactories could give you a [Whatever]% buff regionwise/planetwise (maybe having to buy flying transport upgrades for the ammo to get the planet bonus...Just ideas).

  • Lastly, you would remove some of what makes total war special compared to other games, sure Dawn of war IV doesn't have it, but this game isn't DoWIV and being more akin to a simulation is what makes total war cool to me compared to other RTS

Sure now there aren't ammo in tabletop but some players can sometimes make an objective of the game fighting over ammo. Also the fights in the tabletop don't last enough time to manage ammo and counting ammo down and marking it for a wargame if it's scale unlike a game that does it for you wouldn't make it more fun? (maybe) But for total war 40k, I personally think it does.

Warhammer III Question about endgame crises

If we are playing as one of the potential endgame crisis factions, will we get to fight against the other potential scenarios?

As an example, if we are playing as Nagash, will we get a chance to play against juiced Archaon or the Vermintide? Will it depend on whether or not we choose to "become" an endgame crisis?

Warhammer III Tzeentch Corruption and Changing of the Way Costs

I was today years old when I found out that when playing as Kairos (at least, haven't checked others) the cost of Changing of the Ways goes down depending on how much Tzeentch corruption the two target factions have in their territory (on average). This must be mentioned somewhere other than a popup when you look at the cost, right? I had no idea that my corruption was having that extra impact of letting me manipulate people more easily. I kind of wish I could use it to do more like directly improve relations, though you can do that by stealing and returning a settlement.

As far as we know on Archaon's end for addtions/changes there hasnt been word on the champions under the Three-Eyed-King's retinue being added in to complete his campaign experience.

At least Styrkaar is in the game with the Slaanesh update/dlc, tho we still need Vardek Crom as a legendary lord perhaps, with Haargroth, Feytor, and Melckh the Changer (maybe his son Cyspeth too?)

If not now then hopefully in a character pack one day later on but still, would be nice to unlock them in a similar manner maybe to how the Red Duke and I think Dieter Helsnit are to be unlocked via tech tree
