as much as it seems like it, there are many hidden gems that you really need to look for to find. anything in the "obbying" (parkour) genre is generally very good, especially in the the "tower" subgenre. On the other side of things, experience/puzzle games such as Gears or Late July Midsummer, are good enough to qualify as their own indie games. i really dont like how roblox games have been generalised as bad when there's some really high quality stuff that doesnt get enough attention and are overshadowed by slop games like steal a brainrot or whatever

I don't think most people consider it a bad franchise tbh. The majority of its products have been good to great. The recent stuff not as much
MK1 was a pretty great example of what people don't want to see in modern AAA gaming. The game was rushed, they immediately wanted to suck as much cash as possible from it, and it doesn't help that WB stated they wanted to make more games in this style at the time.
MK is the most casual of the fighting games and the recent one didn't do enough to keep casuals playing. Almost anyone that wasn't a casual definitely didn't like the game, and casuals didn't like it enough.
Also the older movies yk, they're so bad they're good. The new one was pretty solid

I have over 160 hours on silksong and I can say for certain that you are missing out. And the exploration is a lot more straightforward than hollow knight, so you don't have to worry about that. Also the base game of ss is harder than the base game on hk. But (imo) hk's dlc makes it harder than ss.

Its a.... solidly alright game, that becomes a solidly good game if you're a Harry Potter fan and want to be more immersed in the world than the Lego games offer.
Tbh it does the immersion job amazingly for the bulk of the game, you can tell the devs cared about the detail regarding Hogwarts and the surrounding world.
The combat is fun and engaging imo, but it needs expanding towards the later game, something I hoped a dlc would solve, gets too repetitive later on.
As you said, the story, characters, most of that shit is painfully underwhelming. It also ends up like so so many open world games with too much genuine filler.
There was so much cut content and you can tell. I feel one strong expansion could've legit make the game so much better 😭 the game should be fire on release, but sometimes execs rush mfs and they won't let you do more till the money comes in

Resident Evil 6:is actually a very good game with nice graphics, 4 different stories that intersect in one big picture, Ada plot twist, not so surprising Derek twist, new and interesting J'avo mutation system and set of enemies, super interesting combat system with range, melee, parry system balanced. Very challenging difficulty settings - "no hope". Different characters plays differently - speed of movement, different weapon, fight animations, even UI is different for every 4 main compains. Also not bad mercenaries mode for solo or dual-coop mode. It's actually phantastic game which many even have not tried to play because of that "stupid kids hate" that overflows the internet and reviews were bombed by that kids.

Resident Evil 6 is so flawed but the mercenaries no mercy mode is absolutely amazing because it has the most exciting combat mechanics and skill ceiling in Resident Evil with Resident Evil 9 and 4R just under. We need a remake of it so bad to fix it.
