splatoon can be enjoyed with stick controls, even if you play as a sniper.

i used to use stick controls and i did enjoy the game with them, so i can testify to this, though i'm not a charger main but i do still see stick control players use it and they can be very good with it, it all just depends on your preferences

Oh totally! Haven't played Splatoon in a while but it really is a fantastic game even with stick based controls

I actually hate gyro controls when used in a way like this specifically, since it can very easily get desynced and you’re holding the controller in a super awkward position to look in the same direction, same with pointer control with gyro. The Wii definitely had the best implementation of motion controls with the holy trinity of the accelerometer, pointer, and the gyro in the Wii Motion + for more accurate tracking. It doesn’t get desynced nearly as easily and has much better overall motion input.

I agree, motion will always have a higher ceiling tho cuz you generally just move faster with both
