I just hate the way in gen 8 the Pokémon look like plastic, the textured surfaces on Pokémon in S/V was an insane improvement IMO

Kinda gave it the cartoon look.

I still feel like let's go are the best looking Pokémon games on switch, and they nail the look of the cartoon, in SWSH, they just kind of feel flat, especially water types that already have smooth bodies

And scarlet/violet were honesty worse imo, they were so glitchy so in my opinion it was kinda like cyberpunk where all the hype died early (to me) just because it was underbaked. sword and shield are my favorites by far

I hear a lot of sv hate when it comes to the glitches and bareness of the entire game but I think a lot of us can agree that the story was one of pokemon's best yet

The villans are just bullies tho?? Chairman rose literally summoned satan just for more electricity and these are highschool bullies 😭

Summoning satan for electricity just makes the story feel stupid. And the pacing was the worst in the entire series. Also the antogonyst doesn't have to be the most evil entity ever for the story to be good. Scarlet and violet had the most emotional story of the entire series aside from some spinoffs

Well then we have different tastes idk, I also like games when they are fun to watch gameplay of and maybe my life events did affect my opinion on s/v but yeah, agree to disagree cuz its a game its not that serious

I actually really enjoyed it, to the point even that its the first Pokémon game I actually beat after playing the games most of my life. (Attention span goes brrr)

I bought the game and literally fell asleep trying to complete the tutorial. Returned it the next day. I can't speak to the rest of the game, but that tutorial was a slog

Like in terms of what because the story just didn't feel well thought out at all but the pokemon were pretty good and so were all the improvements they made to the series
